Carter's Bar #1

Jack And Crush

Rate this book

He's never done anything like this before.

Arriving home fresh from the hell of Kandahar, Fletcher Bennett ends up at a bar. The straitlaced military man finds himself looking for a distraction. He’s mortified when he wakes up and discovers he’d found it in a strange woman’s bed.

There’s something different about this one night stand.

Outgoing. Outrageous. Outspoken. These are all words Lillie King has had used to describe her. Not one to chase after any man, she’s not unhappy when circumstances keep bringing the sexy soldier her way. But when they lose contact after Fletcher is called back for yet another dangerous mission, she fears the worst. Is this the end?

About the author

Lara used to scribble her fictional characters down on legal pads in high school, and then not show them to anyone. In recent years, she started posting her work in public forums for feedback, which gave her the courage to publish professionally.

She needs copious amounts of coffee and chocolate to survive. You’ll find F.R.I.E.N.D.S. references sprinkled throughout her books because it’s her favorite show. She enjoys eavesdropping on the character conversations in her head, which she has been assured doesn’t make her crazy. Unfortunately, she always gets the best ideas while in the shower, driving, or about to fall asleep.

Though she’s a Florida girl at heart, Lara currently resides in the Blue Ridge Mountains with her husband of twenty-plus years and their three children, where she is living out her own happily ever after with the boy she met at age fifteen.

I have to start by saying I have followed Lara's writing for a while now. With that being said, I will CONTINUE to follow Lara! Jack and Crush is now in my Top 5 favorites to read! Jack, AKA Fletcher, really is the guy you want to write home about. But he just doesn't know it yet! Crush, AKA Lillian, is the Chic you want to be friends with, but you don't want to piss her off!! Tough outside, but a heart of gold on the inside!
Lara does a great job making you feel what these two are going through. I am kinda hoping for more with these two??? The next stage in life for them is gonna be a BIG challenge!!! LOL

Highly Recommend Jack and Crush!!!

Lara Norman is a talented author I have enjoyed following and will continue to follow and read what she writes. This story is easy to follow and love how you can get into the characters as you read. Lillian is such a bad ass but also needs that special someone to have her back and she finally finds that is Fletcher. He needed someone strong and to show him is anything but just that nerdy guy he thinks he is. Great story, love the character, the story line was great and easy to follow. Great job.

I got this book in exchange for an honest review. I’ve got to say, this book did not disappoint. Reading it, I felt each character’s emotions. Seeing Lillie and Fletcher have to go through certain situations to test the strength of their relationship was a breath of fresh air. It showed that just like anyone else, they too had to face trials and find a way to get through them. In the end, each trial made them stronger, and quite the relatable couple. I will admit, there were parts where I cried, and not a lot of books do that to me. I definitely recommend this book.

Lara is such a great writer. I have been following and reading everything she has. She is such a great story teller. She brought me into the story and made me fall in love with these 2 and their friends. Once I started reading, I could not put it down.

Now I am sad... I need more of Jack and Crush!

Lara Norman is a favorite author of mine. She is excellent at conveying emotions and describing the scene.
Jack and Crush are a great book couple. Their lives include a lot of things, like a self proclaimed nerdy, military man; a tattooed badass; a bar, a tattoo parlor, a motorcycle club, cheating, some angst with the ex's and a great story to read on a snowy or rainy day.
I will revisit Jack and Crush often, I think. Their story is good. DebC.

Lara Norman is such an incredible author. She makes you fall right into Lillie and Fletcher's story.
Lillie is such a bad ass with her kicking ass and taking names and Fletcher is just perfect for her.

This story had everything I want in a book. I laughed and cried, it tugged at my heartstrings and made me root for a couple to just be happy. They deserved it. They worked for it. And it’s fun to watch.

This was a good story. My only complaint was that there were too many character voices. It didn't give me enough into one characters head to get to know them. It started to get confusing as to who was talking because it changed so often. Other than that, I liked the story.

Lillian and Fletcher

Man I loved this book!! I got it from Kindle Unlimited because I had been offered to read part 2 and 3. I'm so glad I started at the beginning! I was hooked from the first chapter. The side characters are awesome! I'm hoping that their stories are out there! Lillian is the quintessential type A badass who takes care of everyone but herself. Fletcher feels like he's a simple guy-too simple maybe. When these two meet, instant attraction. So enjoyed this book!! Off to read part 2!

This is my first book by this author, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Bringing two people together who are so different from each other, their beginning is wrought with so much doubt and conflict, and then to watch how much they actually need to be together was quite an experience. Then, when they are separated by his military career, you feel all the emotions the female experiences, and you can’t help but feel your own heart bleed for her. Then, when you get to the HEA, it felt satisfying.
I received a copy of this book to read and give my honest review.

A very well written opposites attract romance, Fletcher a rather straight laced soldier come home and catches his fiance with another man, has a one night stand with Lillie a tattooed bar owner which develops into a intense relationship. Emotional and involving the characters are likeable and engaging and you want them to succeed. A steamy and enjoyable story.I received a complimentary copy from storyorigin and am leaving a honest voluntary review.

Jack and Crush

This is a really good story. The entire cast of characters seem like real people, and the two main characters are believable and easy to relate too. Fletcher’s family should have been notified shortly after he was injured, so that was a bit off, but the worry was very real! The romance was sweet and I loved the HEAs!

What a fun and sexy ride! It's great to see a strong female character fall in love. Lillie is a great combination of soft and hardass. And Fletcher is definitely swoon-worthy!
