When Jared Keating is admitted into hospital after being beaten up and left for dead, his family and friends wait for him to wake up. In the hopes he can hear them, they all spend a little time with him, recalling memories of good times with him; letting him know that they can’t live without him in their lives. Anger and sadness overwhelm them when they come face to face with the reason Jared is in a coma, but they soon understand that no one is to blame other than his ruthless attackers. Will he wake up? Will he still be ‘Jared’ if he does?
M. B. Feeney is an army brat who finally settled down in Birmingham, UK with her other half, two kids and a dog. She often procrastinates by listening to music of all genres and trying to get ‘just one more paragraph’ written on whichever WIP is open; she is also a serious doodler and chocoholic. Writing has been her one true love ever since she could spell, and publishing is the final culmination of her hard work and ambition.
Her publishing career began with two novellas, and she currently has multiple projects under way, in the hopes that her portfolio of what have been described as “everyday love stories for everyday people” will continue to grow. Always having something on the go can often lead to block which eventually gets dissolved by good music and an even better book.
Her main reason for writing is to not only give her readers enjoyment, but also to create a story and characters that stay with readers long after the book is finished, and possibly make someone stop and think “what if . . . ”
For a short read, this really packs a punch. Full of emotion right from the get go, Feeney delivers with yet another stunning little tale. She's got a real talent for weaving a lot of story into a few words, and I can't recommend this none highly enough.
Showing that an attack doesn't only affect the person hurt/injured. Jared could never walk by another person in trouble with out helping but when he helps a stranger one day he gets more than her bargained for and ends up in a coma, this shows us what his family and friends go through afterwards.
I really liked this book it told the story in enough depth that u don't feel like u have been short changed at all.
I loved this story. Yes it made me cry slightly but they were happy tears. This is one of those books though that I want to know what happened. Did Jared and Chloe finally talk? Were the men who attacked them both caught...so many unanswered questions. But this was nice little read. If you only have a few minutes to spare on reading then grab this book.
