Snow blankets the earth in a cascade of white that shimmers in the sunlight. I gaze out the frosty window, watching in fascination as my breath creates a pale fog along the glass.
You love the snow.
You love the holidays.
You especially love Christmas morning.
I think about you all the time, but never so much as I have the past few days. December is always hard because everything reminds me of you. The frozen river where we like to skate. The hot chocolate we love to drink. The glittering lights on the tree that you can't wait to decorate.

A beautiful story. The amount of emotion and character development Sydney Logan is able to squeeze into such a short piece is astounding. Worth downloading both for its own beauty as well as the author's generous donation of the proceeds to charity.
I received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.
Second: I love watching "Military Member Returns Home" videos. They always make me smile and remember when my own Military Captain returned to me after a long deployment.. WINTER SONG is a sweet story that brings up those same feelings. It's touching and tender, sweet and charming, and just the right length to read over your afternoon cup of tea.
I really loved this little story. It was short and so very sweet. A loved one away makes a surprise homecoming at Christmas. Something I'm sure has happened to many people throughout the years.
Winter Song is a very short 5 star story packed with emotions that touched me in a profound way. For some, Christmas is about family and being together. Our soldiers that are overseas are dearly missed. They miss their loved ones too. This story makes us remember that. This is a sweet reunion that made me feel a lot of emotions. I would strongly recommend reading this story because it is for a good cause.
his is another one of Sydney Logan's powerful hits. It's short but it brought me almost immediately to tears. Told in first person, it captures the feelings of a father at Christmas time while his wife, and the mother of his child, is on deployment. It's powerful, it's moving and the tears didn't stop. I started welling up and kept crying the entire time I was reading.
Sydney Logan is a powerful author who keeps me coming back for more. I love her writing style, I love her characters and I'm always on the lookout for more from her.
A heartwarming Christmas short story. Sydney does it every time with characters you feel for even if you don't know exactly what they are going through. This story made me feel like I was going through Jason's emotions to a tee even though I don't have any experience dealing with a loved one serving in the military. I love all of Sydney's stories no matter the length I always get drawn in and have a hard time putting the book down until it is finished.
This is a lovely holiday story about a man missing his wife, who is deployed. He tries to put up a brave front to their daughter, but on the inside he is slowly falling apart. It is all written in second person, speaking to his wife as though he is writing a letter to her.
Winter Song by Sydney Logan was a great quick read. I absolutely loved reading Jason's story. I've always loved seeing military return home videos and loved reading this great military read. This is a great and must read.
