It Started With a Kiss is book one in the Insta-Spark series by Melanie Moreland. Do you believe there is such a thing as love at first sight? Or love at first touch? How about love at first kiss? Avery and Daniel might have never considered such a thing, until it happened to them.

it started with a kiss melanie moreland

Avery Conner was an introverted, quirky accountant with an addiction to peppermint candy. She had the worst luck dating and her self confidence had taken a pretty big hit when her last relationship ended. Her best friend, Beth, talks Avery into filling in for a last minute cancellation on a social experiment. What happens when two strangers kiss? That’s all she’d have to do, kiss a stranger, then go home. Little did she know that when her lips touched his, her life would be forever changed.

hot nerdy man

Dr. Daniel Spencer is a successful veterinarian. He has dreams of finding a woman who can love him with as much love as he has to give. He just hasn’t found that person yet. He and his sister love to make silly wagers. He lost their last bet and as a result, he has to participate in a social experiment and kiss a woman whom he has never met. One touch of her lips and he knew that he wasn’t letting this woman go. That one kiss would never be enough.

“Our lives had just changed. We both felt it, knew it. There was no going back now, and neither of us wanted to.”

sexy kiss gif

The chemistry between these two was off the charts. But I liked that Daniel tried to do things right. He wanted to make sure that Avery knew this wasn’t just lust. That it was more. But he knew from their first touch that something important had just happened, was happening.

“She was meant to belong to me.”

Even though their relationship started off in a very unique way, they still had to deal with all of the normal stresses. Hectic schedules, parents, time, daily stress. But these two find their way. They are both all in. I loved the effect that Daniel had on Avery. She became so much more sure of herself, confident. She literally bloomed.

it started with a kiss melanie moreland

I have to say, though, that the last twenty five percent of the book was the very best part. It’s when a certain thing happened that made them closer than ever. From there to the end was so good. And that epilogue! I got goosebumps. It’s literally the best epilogue I’ve ever read.

This is a sugary, sweet and sexy love story that is sure to melt your heart. I can’t wait for the next book, Christmas Sugar.

4 - "Who knew the day I walked into the studio... we'd end up here." Stars!

My last read from Melanie Moreland was the enjoyable The Contract to say that It Started With a Kiss is almost the polar opposite to that book would almost be an understatement.

That is in no way meant disrespectfully, because I enjoyed the story that the author gave Daniel and Avery, but it is a book that falls into the sugary-sweet, light-speed-insta-love, virtually no drama or conflict category.

"I feel so much and it’s so solid, so real, and I’m worried it’s too fast."

If you are looking for angst and an alpha a-hole then book is definitely not the one for you. But I was in the mood for romance, and that’s exactly what I got.

There isn’t a huge amount to really give away plot wise, I am sure a lot of you remember the You-tube video that was popular last year of couples who had never met kissing each other for the first time, I would say it’s a pretty good guess that this story derived from that video, because it is exactly how Avery and Daniel meet, fall in love, and have lots and lots of happy times together.

Short of one minor disagreement and a little car trouble towards the end of the book, I could almost see rainbows, glitter and unicorns flitting in my peripheral vision as the story progressed.

"Can I keep you… Will you be mine?"

Well worth a read if you are looking for something light and fluffy, plenty of sex to keep the potential sugar coma in check, and lots of likeable secondary characters to give the story-line some depth as well.

4.5 Crazy Meant To Be Love Stars
* * * * 1/2
Sometimes in life... things are just meant to be... It doesn't matter how they came about... or whether they seem a tad bit crazy or out of the ordinary...Certain things are meant to happen...
I can speak from experience because many of my major life moments would fall into that category...Whether it was a professional opportunity for advancement due to a conversation with a stranger over the phone...to meeting my loved one and us knowing within 5 Days, this was it...

So It Started with a Kiss by Melanie Moreland was a very easy read for me...because I was a willing participant... ready to believe in all its yummy goodness.
This was my first experience with Ms. Moreland and it won't be my last. There was much to like.

The premise reminded me of a YouTube video from a couple of years ago...It was of strangers meeting and kissing for the first time...so when I read the blurb, that was what I thought of...The video may have been interesting... but I promise you... this book was so much more...

What was special was how Regular the characters were...They weren't in fancy careers or billionaires... He was a Veterinarian and she, an Accountant. Both had pretty strong family bonds with parents and siblings. It was a set of coincidences that brought them to the studio to be a part of this filmed experiment; Avery's best friend needed a replacement for one of the participants who dropped out at the last minute...Daniel lost a bet with his sister and had to do this crazy thing ...These two would never have crossed paths otherwise...

We do have another crossing of paths just before they are to meet in the studio...and it is this moment prior to the main event which really colors everything in my mind...Because during the fleeting time they collide and exchange a few moments...something unexplained happens...

It could have been the chemical reaction/some type of ancient animal attraction or instinct which was triggered when recognizing the one...Because both of these people felt something. It was brief... compelling and then gone.

The second meeting in the studio has another element to it... and this is where Everything takes off...Because their kiss... this coming together with lips barely touching at first... is something different for the both of them...And when Daniel has Avery take her glasses off in order to get closer...That is when the fireworks really take off...

Kissing has its own language...and when it is done right...it is an art form. This book pays homage to kissing... to the way it can make you feel... where time stops and the only thing is lips soft, tongues gliding, baby bites and nibbles and never wanting to stop...

Our couple allows their instincts to lead them through the maze of getting to know each other. They have a sense they can trust one another and each lives up to that trust. They are willing to see what this is all about and are brave and willing...because this feeling of knowing is happening very fast...crazy fast.

But it is pure and good...
Because these people are good...They have no agenda or ulterior motives...
It is a slice of a true life fantasy...

There are some very sweet ideas in this book... Ideas to take away and possible incorporate... Daniel learned from his dad when things became too much... to break things down into smaller pieces... and he uses this throughout to connect with Avery... It becomes their thing... so I will let them tell it to you should you read the book...There were other ideas which were so beautiful in execution...I could see where they also could be taken and applied in readers' lives.

This is a very sweet love story ... almost no drama... just the coming together of two people who were meant to meet and had the courage to believe in the magic that was happening around them.

~~~~~ Before Reading ~~~~~
Reading a book with two people coming together after a kiss...
Bring on the happiness, please....
Now what could be more innocent....
Doing a favor for a friend, right...
It did seem a little different...
Wasn't the usual...
What could be the harm...
It was only a little kiss, after all...
But there was that naughty stipulation...
The one about it having to be with a Stranger...
Little did Avery Connor and Dr. Daniel Stewart know how their lives would change...
After all, who would have thought....
Holy crap! I couldn’t do it! I dnf’d this one at the epilogue.
I had to stop, it was making me dry heave from it’s nauseating sweetness. This book was the longest insta love I’ve ever read. Usually insta love is reserved for novellas and short stories and if you’ve ever wondered why, read this book. It was so sickeningly sweet. They fell in love at first meet and then NOTHING HAPPENED. There was literally no plot in this whole honking book.
It was them dating and sleeping together and the heroine crying or gasping or whimpering or tearing up, except when her eyes were misting and the couple times when tears ran down her cheeks.
They fucked against the wall about 65 times - it’s basically 3/4 of the ‘story’.
There was no conflict, no pivotal plot points, no denouement. The last five chapters felt like epilogue and then the epilogue - well I bailed on it. I couldn’t do it anymore. I actually cleaned my house to avoid reading this book. I kept thinking something big would happen to take me away from the mundane cloying monotony of the storyline but nothing ever did. This wasn’t a story, it was just a couple kissing and fucking and crying and then the end.
I don't write reviews anymore but for this book I will.
This book was everything, it was amazing, this author has become quickly one of my favorite authors and my list of favorite authors is really short so that says something.
This book has:
*perfect romantic hero.
*perfect heroine who's sweet and quirky.
*perfect romance.
*completely safe for my safety gang.
*lovable supportive characters.
*AMAZING EPILOGUE. It made me tearful.
“Can I keep you, Avery Connor? Will you be mine"
“I wanted to be the man she needed, one she could look up to, and who would always love and care for her. I wanted to be hers”
“I can keep you, Avery?”
“For as long as you want.”
“Then I’m calling dibs on the next ninety years.”
For my ladies Erika and Cyndi
Do I recommend this book? YES 100%.
This was my third book by Melanie Moreland, and I think I can say safely say that she's my go to author when I need something light, heartwarming and wildly romantic! I'm going through a really intense chick lit phase and this book fit the bill perfectly.
Avery Connor, is a shy accountant who is terribly in need of a new relationship, so when she meets Daniel for the first time he seems to be just the guy she's been waiting for. Their explosive attraction and the mind numbing kisses they share further cements the fact.
What follows is a whirl wind romance, yes there's insta-love, yes at times you feel that what's happening is too good to be true, but I was completely swept away by this story and for the duration of the book all that mattered to me was Daniel and Avery regardless of how fairytale-like their story was.
I smiled the entire time I was reading it, it tugged at my heartstrings and that alone tells me what a great book it was! I'd say this book is the perfect pick me up for a cold day! I still have that warm fuzzy feeling in my chest.
“Can I keep you, Avery Connor? Will you be mine?”
“Please.”
His smile was brighter than the sun in mid-July. “Good answer.”
Looking for a real feel-good book? Something that will not only warm your blood but will also warm your heart? A story so beautiful it will make you chuckle and swoon? And in the end it will leave you teary-eyed with joy? Then this is the book for you!!
This was Daniel and Avery's story. It's about how one moment with the right person can change your life. How in an instant you can make a connection with someone that can last a lifetime. Melanie Moreland created a story that explored falling in love at first sight (or first kiss) and it was told in a unique and refreshing way. To see two characters so in tune with one another, to watch their feelings blossom, to witness how well they fit together, made my heart sigh.
I have to hand it to the author. She created a story that had ZERO drama and ZERO angst, and yet felt so intense because of the feels. To top it all off, the author created one of THE BEST epilogues I have EVER read in my entire life. So even though I was sad to say goodbye to Daniel and Avery, I was relieved to leave them in such a wonderful life.
3 Give me three stars
This book was really sweet, to the point of cheesiness, and incredibly low on angst. It's the perfect quick read after an emotionally scarring book. I enjoyed the happiness and the lack of drama of this novel, and adored the epilogues. Yes, you read it right epilogueS. I'm a sucker for happy endings, and if during the first part of the book I wasn't 100% hooked, the second half and the epilogues truly did it for me. Seeing not just their HEA, but also so many scenes of Daniel and Maggie, their daughter, was endearing and funny.
What didn't work for me was the breakneck speed of their relationship. On the one hand, Daniel was like Dreamy McDreamy, saying all the right things, professing his adoration for Avery to whoever would listen, and worshipping her like a goddess. He's an alpha male through and through, a bit possessive, a bit jealous, and a whole assertive. It reminded me of some of the Rock Chicks Series' alphas when it came to persistence.  On the other hand, I like my characters a little more complex and realistic. To like this book you have to believe in love at first kiss. This novel reads like some sort of fairytale, where it's completely okay to move in with a guy after only a couple weeks of knowing him, or where it's fine for a guy to talk about your future kids together after a few dates. I'm too much of a callous realist to completely enjoy these things, but I admit that, when I started to suspend my believes, I finally managed to fall into the story.
Avery was such a sweet character and her insecurities were very relatable. I mean, who's never been hurt by someone's words? Still, the low level of angst prevented their relationship to be hindered by Avery's doubts.
All in all, "It Started with a Kiss" is a feel-good, fluffy novel with an epilogues galore that will leave your heart full of gooey emotions. The only flaw was their rushing into the relationship, and the too-natural quality of their interactions, especially at first. I would have wanted to see them explore the first awkward-cute part of the relationship more.
On a side note, the hotness level was definitely high for a sweet romance story. And I find myself agreeing with Daniel about walls ;)
It Started with a Kiss is like romantic utopia. If romance were a dessert...
description
"I wasn’t in love with Daniel. I only met him an hour ago. That was impossible. Wasn’t it?"
Seemingly not. Not in the land of romantic utopia.
This story really is a love fest and I did love the premise of two people meeting whilst taking part in a kissing a stranger project. And, whilst it by no means a difficult read, with the chemistry between Avery and Daniel leaping off the pages from their first meet, it was a bit like eating a rather sweet dessert: the more you eat, the more sickly it starts to become.
"I can keep you, Avery?"
"For as long as you want."
"Then I’m calling dibs on the next ninety years."
For me it was just a little too OTT on romance and not enough depth, with Daniel and Avery
"You bring out a passion in me I’ve never felt for anyone."
There's no arguing, Melanie Moreland can write sexy and write it well--she certainly doesn't scrimp on the sexy-time between this couple and Daniel and Avery are incredibly passionate together. However, if like me you're looking for a romance that has some meat on its bones and even the occasion conflict, then I have to be honest and say this falls on the opposite end of the scale.
** IT'S LIVE! **
** ARC RECEIVED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW **
** 5 sugary sweet stars **
If you are in the market for a sweet, sexy, low angst, warm and fuzzy book, this story is for you.
Daniel and Avery were perfect for each other. The story had no angst or unnecessary drama. It was simply a telling of their love story. After reading so many overly angsty stories, I kept waiting for something dramatic to happen. I was so thankful when it didn't. It was a refreshing, light and I loved it.
-Sexy sweet and confident hero
-sweet, quirky heroine
-instalove - virtually from page 1 they were completely smitten with each other
-zero pushing away
-no cheating
-no OW/OM drama whatsoever
-safe read
-epic epilogue. The kind of epilogue that will spoil you! As a epilogue lover, I was truly impressed.
Update with my song pick for this book https://youtu.be/m_BIJJLuTiQ
Fairy tales have the big kiss at the end after you get all the background story of the characters (mostly the heroine). Well what if the first meeting didn't go quite like expected and the big kiss happens at the beginning and then you get to see how they fall in love and their journey to their HEA and beyond.
Avery Conner best friend begs her to participate in an experiment where she would have to kiss a complete stranger. She very reluctantly agrees and ends up having a painful run in with a male stranger and flees inside once he leaves her to get her something to help with her injury. Because she lost her glasses in the their run in she doesn't realize the guy she is about to kiss is the stranger from outside. Daniel Stewart felt really bad for the stranger and thinks she got away until he sees that she is the one he is about to kiss. He is very excited and as they have a super hot kiss neither is expecting it sets them in motion to a relationship neither one thought they would have.
Avery is a accountant that is very introvert and shy. She hasn't had the best luck in relationships but she has a really big heart for those in her life. Daniel is a veterinarian, more assertive and though he has had relationships in the past he hasn't met the woman he feels is right to be a permanent part of her life. They are attracted to each other when they meet and because of how much they feel they decide to jump into dating with both feet. They both have some moments with how much they feel but also aren't willing to not have each other either.
This book is seriously low to no angst. The couple does have bumps in the relationship but nothing super dramatic. It is cheesy and something that those who can suspend belief or like insta love or love sweet romance with some good heat would really really enjoy. It has a epilogue that extends way into the future for those who love that too. So if you want a break from high angst or want one of those laid back with some humor and sexy times read you might enjoy this book.
My Thoughts - Story
After reading and absolutely LOVING all of Melanie’s prior books…this was a complete surprise! Now, she warned me that it was going to be light and fluffy and I honestly had to wait until I knew I was going to be in the mood for this type of story. And I’m so happy that I did because I instantly fell in love with the sweet romance between Daniel and Avery.
I was kinda expecting a story like “Over The Fence” but even that has so much more drama than “It Started With A Kiss”. This is definitely a book where you will find yourself smiling and coo’ing throughout the whole story. This is a “feel good” story that explores a sweet romance blooming from a “first kiss”.
Fresh air…feel goods…that warm and comfortable feeling you get after snuggling your pet and lounging in a candle-lit bathtub with a glass of wine. That is the feeling this book left me!!
What a beautiful story!
One kiss changed my life.
Dibs on the rest of yours.
~Daniel
Have you ever seen the video on Facebook or YouTube when strangers kiss in front of a camera? The reactions vary. Some couples are awkward and others sweet - ok most are awkward.:D
Anyway, it all started with a kiss for Avery and Daniel as well.
When Avery Connor agreed to help out her best friend Beth, she had no idea how much her life would be changed.
Beth was filming a video about strangers kissing and one of her volunteers canceled on her. So she urgently needed a substitute. Why not ask her best friend Avery?
“You want to me to do what?” I frowned at her calm face. Surely she was teasing. “I need you to come to the studio tomorrow, and kiss a stranger.” “A kiss, like on the cheek? A quick hello-type kiss?” Beth huffed in exasperation. “No, Avery. Lips pressing.” She grinned wickedly. “Tongues meeting, if you want. That type of kiss.” “With a stranger.” “That’s the idea.”
Avery was a bit shy and didn't have the best track record with guys. She was nervous around new people and overcompensated by chewing mints like crazy when she was embarrassed or tense. But she couldn't say not to her best friend.
Dr. Daniel Stewart, a veterinarian by day, lost a bet with his sister that landed him a role in the experimental video about strangers kissing. Before he even got to the studio he stumbled over Avery. Charmed by her spirit and independence, he instantly was attracted to her. Unbeknownst to either, they were meant to share a kiss just minutes away. That kiss would change their lives forever.
Our lives had just changed—we both felt it, knew it. There was no going back now—and neither of us wanted to.
Avery and Daniel had an instant connection. An attraction, a spark, whatever it was, it was powerful. So powerful, they ignited. That first kiss was proof enough. They felt it in their bones, that they were meant to be more than just strangers. From there on it went pretty quickly for both of them.
Avery had bowled me over, so to speak. It shocked me how much I already felt for her and how well she seemed to fit into my life.
They felt bereft when they weren't in each company. Daniel made Avery feel wanted, desired, and cherished. All the things she was missing in her life. And Daniel found in Avery the woman that he wanted to grow old with.
Together we were right. We fit together like two pieces of a puzzle.
They were beautiful together.
It Started with a Kiss was one of those feel-good stories. Heart-warming, sweet, and utterly perfect.
I cupped his worried face, tracing over the small ‘V’ between his eyes, and soothing the puckered skin. “You have all of me.” His expression was beautiful, filled with light, as one slow tear ran down his cheek. “I can keep you, Avery?” “For as long as you want.” “Then I’m calling dibs on the next ninety years.”
And a whole lot of SWOOOON.
“I can’t help it with her, Mom. I can’t control it; it’s like a freight train.” I paused to think about everything that was going through my head, and my heart. “I’ve never felt anything like it—with anyone. It’s right, and it’s real, and I don’t want it to stop.”
One of the things I loved most about this book was that even after they got together, the book didn't end. Melanie Moreland crafted a well rounded novel that included their life after the HEA. How often do I lament that novels feel too rushed. Not here!!!
AND it had the most wonderful epilogue EVER!!!!
The only real complaint that I could find was that It Started with a Kiss was maybe a bit too perfect:D
All in all, it was a wonderful sweet and swoony romance, and I can only recommend it to anyone that is in the mood for a very loving hero, low angst, and a fantastic heart-warming ending.
Best words to describe this book: Sweetness overload.
Daniel and Avery are inexplicably drawn to each other.  They thought it was crazy but it also felt right.  It all started with a kiss. A kiss with a stranger. Avery did it as a favor for a friend.  Daniel did it because he lost a bet with his sister.  There was kissing, more kissing, making out in any flat surface particulary walls.  Daniel is fond of walls.
I have to say, as an epilogue whore. I dubbed this book as the cutest epilogue I've read ever.
It Started with a Kiss is super sweet book. Yes it has insta connection/ lust. The wholr series is about that insta connection. Miss Moreland os truly a quenn of heart.
The story opened with 2 people answering for ads to challenge kissing random stranger on camera. The chemistry between the characters is off the chart from that first kiss until the end.
The story has minimum angst/ drama and a whole lot of sweetness.
Dnf at %30...
I don't know how much sugar is too much for you but this one is certainly too sweet for me.
Insta-lust, insta-love, insta-confession and insta-devotion... insta-everything...
Perfect man, perfect woman, perfect kiss, perfect everything...
I tried to continue to read it many times but I just couldn't go through it.
Maybe I will go on reading it some other time, maybe not...
It is not bad, it is just too sweet and uneventful. No chasing, no complications...
Mutual love at first sight with mutual confession and oops gone all my enthusiasm to read how much more euphoric they may feel in the future.
If it were too boring or frustrating or ridiculous, I would rate it low even if I don't finish it all, but I don't want to rate this book low just because it is too sweet for me. It may just be the book for you with its non-existent angst and high level of happiness.
If you ever manage to complete it and find some action or spice in it to balance the sugary levels of it, then, please let me know so that I will try it again.
And that, ladies and gents, is how you write an epilogue. This book had the best epilogue I've probably ever read. I liked the story throughout. It was a sweet romance that just focused on two people falling in love and blending their lives together.
Both MCs were kind and mature. When they had an issue they talked it out. This book is total instalove which I adore. It was pretty much angst free.
And did I mention the epilogue? It was that good that it deserves me talking about it again. We got to see different periods of their life in the future up to 26 years. Awesome!!!
Really sweet story. Swoon worthy, almost perfect hero. Fabulous epilogue!! There was one scene that really bothered me, but it was pretty innocent and won't bother most.
Sweetness overload.
ZERO angst.
Safe for any triggers.
Read with caution, it is way too sweet.
(Read it as progression of a healthy relationship book, rather than anything else and it might be amazing).
Beyond perfect hero.
I loved this. This book was recommended to me at the start of the year and now I am kicking myself for not reading it soon. It has the most amazing hero and one of the sweetest heroines ever. There is no real drama which I love. It is just a story that makes you smile from start to finish. Highly recommend. This is definitely a favorite read of mine for 2017.
4.5 it all started with a bet stars
"I want to spend the rest of the weekend with you, Sprite. I want you with me every second until you have to leave for work on Monday. Then I want you back here as soon as you can be. I want it all- your time, your kisses, your laughter...your heart."
Well Miss Moreland, you have done it again! Although I am SO not a fan of insta-love between the main characters, this book was just so sweet and adorable, that I couldn't help but have my own insta-love moment...with this book!
And Daniel, GAHHH so swoon-worthy. Such a start contrast from Richard in The Contract! This just goes to show Miss Moreland's ability to create different types of heroes in each of her books. Where Richard was a domineering alpha-male, Daniel was the complete opposite; he was just so damn perfect.
It's nice to read a sweet and romantic book every now and again to break up the somewhat monotonous and drama filled romances that seem to flood this genre.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a break from the every day stressors in their lives and are looking to just get lost in a quick and adorably romantic read.
This was hearts, flowers, sugar, unicorns, etc!!! A very sweet and low angst love story. I loved the epilogue 😍 I really could have done without the scene with Daniel's ex- I don't know why he is so happy to see her and why he is still in constant contact with a woman that he only dated for a year. I could understand his remaining friends with her if they had grown up together, but he dated her for a year- why are they still that close? And it really isn't appropriate with her being married and Daniel now in a relationship. That's why I'm only giving 4 stars
This was so sweet. Loved their meet-cute! The chemistry was scorching. I really liked both of them and they were a good match.
I vividly remember a rainy, cold, ugly day on holidays with my parents when I was probably around six years old. The only upside was: They were playing games with me and I was allowed to eat as many sweets as I wanted. This was outrageous, unheard of, and I could neither believe nor really trust in my luck - so I revelled in sweets till I was on a sugar high (and beyond…).
This is what reading this novel felt like: Sugary bliss. Just like all those years ago, I finished it all in one sitting, and suffered for it.
I came across this novella on my Goodreads feed because the reviewer DNFed during the epilogue citing the “nauseating sweetness” - and, yes, it can’t be denied: There’s hardly any drama, the plot is negligible - it’s a sugary fairy tale, completely over the top; a happily-ever-after wasn’t good enough for the author and so her epilogue…
Oh, well, if you’re in the mood for a sugary, spicy romance that’s going to allow you to shut off large parts of your brain, look no further - but be sure to come prepared for too much sweetness in too short a novella…
Still, three stars out of five.
I loved this story!
As soon as this couple met I was hooked. I love a cute-meet and this one was wonderful. But when Avery and Daniel meet again, it gets even better. This is, as the series is titled, insta-spark, insta-lust, insta-love and I enjoyed every moment of it.
”He’s already named you, Avery. He’s an animal guy. You know what that means. Once they name you, they keep you. You are so done.”
description
There is no drama here and the plot is basically this couple getting to know one another, falling in love and making a life together. Avery and Daniel’s character development was so well written I felt like they were a part of my family. I loved them both equally. Avery with her little idiosyncrasies and Daniel with his protective and possessive instincts wormed their way into my heart.
Text from Daniel to Avery: ”One kiss changed my life. Dibs on the rest of yours.”
This is one of those books that you sit back, relax and simply enjoy. With very little to almost no angst, lots of hot smexy times, and an epilogue that will absolutely make you swoon and cry, (and let me add that this book is worth reading if no other reason than this amazing epilogue) this book is the perfect feel good read.
This is a freaking cheesfest, and I almost DNF because it was so sickeningly sweet. Don't know what that says about me. 😐
Daniel (32) and Avery (27) met in a photoshoot, and sparks flew for the both of them. Insta-love kicked in immediately, and since then they've been inseparable. I guess this is where the idea of "when you know, you know" is truly applicable.
There's no angst; it's just full of love and so much making out. 😂 These two are too much with PDA and affection; like I said, it was disgustingly adorable and I can't handle them at times. I'm not yet sure if that was a good or bad thing; it's still questionable. This was their story from being strangers to lovers, how they finally admitted their love, and the moment they got married and expanded their family. The epilogue was actually sweet, and I did like reading about their future with their children.
Overall, this was okay; it could've been a few pages less. The make-out session between these two probably took almost half of the book. 🤣 Anyway, still enjoyed it and planning to read some novellas inspired by this series.
3 OK-ISH STARS
The premise of this story had me keen to read, and I wanted to see how things with unfold once Avery Connor and Dr Daniel Spencer took part in a kissing a stranger project. Avery does so as a last-minute favour for her best friend, and Daniel because he lost a bet with his sister, both get more than they expected.
Insta-love and insta lust are the key ingredients in this easy read, and these ingredients should have ensured that this was a lovely, light delight for me, but for some reason whilst it was an ok light read, the insta component of this was a tad too much for me, unlike other books e.g. the early work of Alexa Riley I couldn’t really find myself believing how things developed, the relationship wasn’t one I could sink into after the first few chapters, things happened a tad too fast and were a tad too sweet for me (I still can’t believe I’m saying this).
One thing I was really not a fan of was
The author is good at writing chemistry and heat between characters, one of the main reasons why I moved on to the second book in the series.
