Abigail - Abby - is working her dream job at a charity that grants the biggest and most often also the last wishes of very sick children.

Currently Abby is working on fulfilling the wish of Parker - he wants to meet his idol - Rockstar Kennedy Lane.

But Abby is not so sure that she should bring this poor boy into the sex, drugs and rock'n'roll world that Kennedy seems to live in.

Kennedy has been a rockstar for almost 15 years now, but ever since the horrible accident that took his sister's life two years ago, he kind of gave up. His life doesn't have any purpose. The music doesn't flow anymore, the alcohol does though. He's drunk or high almost 24/7.

Time to get his life back on track thinks his best friend and security guy Tucker - and also Abby.

Who ends up with his phone number after meeting him about the sick boy. A meeting that didn't really change her opinion about the rockstar lifestyle!

But they start texting...and talking and they like each other a lot. And that liking turns into more with every meeting...

But can a drunk rockstar who's trying to get better, and a girl who's been hurt by addiction before, really start something real and lasting?

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO ABBY & KENNEDY???
WiLL THERE BE A HEA???
READ THE BOOK TO FiND OUT ☺

I ADORED THIS BOOK!!!

Rockstar romances are my weakness! I just had to read this! Total fangirl! ☺

description

You immediately fall in love with both Abby & Kennedy.
Both have been through a lot and it shows.

We first meet Kennedy all drunk and high with girls all over him in a hotel room. Exactly how you imagine a rockstar to be and act. Only I think that most rockstars these days are organic-vegan-gluten-free-health-and-fitness-nuts.... but that's another story!☺
Here we have your typical, almost retro rockstar with all that comes with it.

But of course Kennedy doesn't only do all that shit just because he can. He has his reasons for wanting to forget.

But once he meets Abby and knows how much it means to her and the little boy that he gets his shit sorted... things start to change. But of course it's not suddenly all insta-happy-ever-after for all of them!

The rest of the band still uses lots of alcohol and drugs and Kennedy is not yet completely ready to get help. And Abby doesn't yet trust that he's serious about her...

LOTS of bad things still to overcome until we'll get our HEA!!!
Because the alcohol and trust issues are not the only things standing in their way ...

I can't wait to read the books about the other three band members - they all have huge stories to tell!

If I had to name some things I didn't like? No, not really... It's pretty obvious that the authors are either huge fans of Fifty Shades, or they were just inspired by it. We have one scene in a hotel bar with a cocktail that's pretty much exactly the same. And an alley-kiss scene! But pfff, didn't bother me, even though I would've changed it a tiny bit!

ROCK THE DREAM was an amazingly beautiful & intense & sexy & moving #RockStarRomance!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Kennedy Lane! Because this one is MINE! ☺

Now I really want to read book #2 ... it will be about Matt!!!

ARC received for an honest review

Ms Miller and Ms Carson - you had me at rock star.

I am a sucker for a rock star book, and I immediately liked our guy Kennedy. He is really living the sex & drugs & rock n roll lifestyle.

I liked that Redfall were older guys, not the usual "just signed a record deal early 20's guys" - they are closer to old-fartdom like me!

I really enjoyed seeing the characters develop - they are more than the public person, more than trappings of fame. The are flawed, messed up men.

It is not all insta lust or insta love with Abby and Kennedy, and it is great to be taken on the journey with them as they fight for what they want.

I love the banter between Kennedy and his band mate, and adore (most of)

There are many hurdles for them all to cross, and I can't wait for the rest of the guys to get their stories.

Wow! What an unexpected, phenomenal surprise this book was. These authors' obviously either did their homework or unfortunately have been hit with the every day reality of addiction. Unless you yourself either suffer from it or have a loved one who does you can't possibly understand the truth behind their words written, the realism in them or the devastation one feels watching someone you love suffer or worse yet, know someone personally, who has taken their life with heroin or has lost a loved one to it. While I don't know any rock stars personally, I can tell you that heroin addiction is extremely high in Long Island, New York, and there is no discrimination who it hits; young, old, rich, poor, every single profession, it doesn't matter it's a harsh reality here that one can't get away from hearing a story too often of another life being taken because of it. On our local news station it's all you hear daily, another accident or arrest due to the deadly drug and if you have a child here in any school district area, junior high and high school levels, they know someone who is affected, guaranteed.

I have become obsessed with rock star reads and read a lot of them often. I give a review only for books in general if they move me as this one has so profoundly, when an author asks me to and wants an honest review only, and sadly, only if it was that bad. I was not asked to give this review and am not a friend of either author, this is my honest review.

Incredible, both the hero, Kennedy Lane and heroine, Abigail "Abby" Walker are incredible. Both are equally measured, so beautiful, admittedly flawed, stubborn, talented with hearts of gold because of past losses and hardships. Their weaknesses and vulnerabilities, neither one shy away from admitting them to one another head on, being conscientious when one will be struggling with a hardship that will bring those same insecurities or his addiction to the forefront again. It's powerful... they are powerful individually but together, whew, forget it these two are...Explosive! Refreshing.

Tucker, a secondary character, his role is powerful and so well written. The strength, love and support he displayed Kennedy (haha "Sunshine") daily and the other 3 band members was not just read but through these authors words profoundly felt to where I'd get chills of how beautiful he had their backs. Sometimes, it was obvious and other times he'd share something out of nowhere, had been on top of the situation already prepared how he was going to get them back to the road of recovery or had already gotten them situated in a place safe and sound with healing already in motion. Just beautiful, Kennedy, Abby, Tucker, Sean, Mattie, Cam, Tess, April, Nicole, Kennedy's parents, his brother Adam, Abby's parents and Ralph. Parker? Wow, forget it, there aren't enough words for that child's role in Rock the Dream, extraordinary doesn't do him justice or his parents, Joyce and David for that matter. This is an overwhelming, emotional, special read on so many, many levels. There are so many lessons one can learn from this book on addiction, AA, compassion for those who suffer from loss and guilt and THEN children suffering from terminal illnesses and what their every day lives look like, worse yet the impact it has on their families. I've said enough, please download this book ASAP, with caution though to those this may be a trigger for. I'm no expert and don't suffer from this, but if one is an addict, this book may help someone feel like they're not alone in their weakness, in wanting to feel numb when it gets too much or if there is something tragic going on in their life that might have them feeling tempted. In addition, for someone who has a sick child of this magnitude, this may be too much for you, I don't know, but you should be warned as well. For all others be prepared to get emotional but the greater are happy tears in this particular read. Everyone and I mean, everyone (not spoiling who I mean by that) comes together at some point to make Parker's dream come true which trickles on a grand scale to so many other children's dreams being met as well. Spectacular on every level. Read. This. Book!

Cliffhanger, no. Sexy, oh yes. Beautiful hero and heroine, absolutely yes! Great storyline, yes and so much more than your regular rock star read. Secondary characters, wow, strong, beautiful, real and funny but most of all just as important, riding front and center. I can't wait for their stories, Matt's story can't come out fast enough for me. Cheating, no. Threesomes, no. HFN, yes, I'm usually not a fan of HFNs since I usually read HEAs only, but it works here, you can't help but be okay with it and the promise for us to one day read about their HEA is inevitable. I have no doubt I'll read in one of the next books about Kennedy and Abby's HEA and I am so looking forward to their future. Honestly, I could go on and on with how much I loved this book for so many reasons. It is the most real book I've read in a long time written with such skill and carefulness to a touchy subject that is very much alive and kicking hard today. My favorite lesson from it, don't ever judge someone who either suffers from an addiction(s) or knows someone who suffers or worse, who has lost a loved one from addiction whether it be heroin, alcohol, pills or a combination. The lesson extended with Brodie's character, was profoundly heart felt, to have no one there? Was his family ashamed? Did he burn too many bridges? Did they just give up on him? Can I even picture myself feeling as alone as he did? SMH

I am so grateful and privileged to have read Rock The Dream. This book will stay with me for a long, long time.

I love an awesome rock star romance. This one will definitely tug at the heartstrings of readers, I know it did for me. This is the debut book for writing duo B.B. Miller and Leslie Carson and what a great job they did with this book. It is well written, thought provoking and has plenty of drama, sex and rock & roll. This story contains drug addiction and may be sensitive to some readers. Those who have experienced what drugs can do to a loved one will be able to relate to parts of Kennedy and Abby's story. So, sit down in a comfortable chair, grab your favorite drink and snack and dive into an awesome read.

The story follows the life of Kennedy Lane as he literally dives head first into the world of rock & roll with his band Redfall. Sex, drugs, drinking and rock & roll are the name of the game. Anything to bury the hurt and heartache that he feels from the tragic loss of a loved one. One night stands and hotel rooms full of booze and women seem to be the only thing that gets him through, that is until he meets Abby and the little boy whose wish is to meet him. Is Kennedy strong enough to overcome the addictions that control his life and find a way to face his grief? Can he find a new beginning and love with Abby? Or will the weight of his past and his addictions be to great for him to handle?

Abby Walker spends her days making dreams come true for children with terminal illnesses. She loves what she does and finds fulfillment in the work she does. When Parker, a little boy that Abby is currently trying to help asks to meet bad boy rock star Kennedy Lane, she has her work cut out for her. The sexy rocker makes her feel things that she hasn't, but she needs to keep him at arms length. Until he can clean up his life, she and Parker will not be around him. Dealing with her own demons, can Abby find the courage to face her fears and move forward with her life? I loved how hard working, strong, loving and dedicated Abby is. She is determined to see to it that every child she helps gets the wish that they deserve.

I really enjoyed this book! I look forward to reading more about the guys in Redfall. We get to meet them all in Rock the Dream, but I can't wait to see how each of their stories plays out. This book is well written, funny, sexy and a bit emotional all rolled into one. Grab your copy today, you won't be disappointed.

If books could get 10 stars this would be one of them. What an amazing story of not just to die for Rockers, but loss, love and hope. Kennedy Lane and his band Redfall have been chart toppers for a lot of years and they are still enjoying the lifestyle, but personal tragedy has Kennedy falling deeper into an alcoholic haze worrying his trusted bodyguard and friend Tucker. Abigail Walker Executive Director of What's Your Dream the charitable organization that makes dreams come true for terminally ill children, loves nothing more than her job and with her staff has an amazing track record of granting children s' wishes. When one of the recipients, 11 year old Parker requests meeting and spending the day with his idol Kennedy Lane, Abigail has misgivings on the character of the rocker. When they meet for the first time, it's everything Abby was afraid of and nothing that Kennedy would ever forget. You don't only get to read about Kennedy and Abby falling for each other - it is tangible.
This book is beautifully written and you can tell the authors did their homework on a variety of subjects this story touches on from drug and alcohol abuse to dealing with loss, guilt and the massive workings of a major charity organization and putting on a massive concert. The supporting characters are such an integral part of this story that I am dying to know when the next book is coming out. This was a Valentine's Day gift to myself - Highly recommend Rock The Dream.

Kennedy and Abigail are total opposites and opposites attract. These two didn't have insta-love, they went on a journey of healing to get to their HEA. This is a very compelling, tear worthy story full of angst. It's a well written book with amazing characters that I'm sure will get books of their own. There were parts of this story that tore at my heartstrings. This is an intriguing story about love, loss and guilt. The authors give the characters so much depth and they did an incredible job dealing with such difficult topics. Drugs and alcohol can truly destroy a person and everyone around them. I'm so glad Kennedy figured out that he needed help and that he found a reason to live again.

Rock The Dream is the first book in The Redfall Dream Series. I love a good Rock Star book and this definitely is on my list. I look forward to reading more from these authors and this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I'm a fan of rockstar/famous beings books because there's always that additional element of feeling like you're reaching a secret part of the character that they're not showing to the rest of the world - even though they only exist within the pages.

Rock The Dream introduces us to Kennedy Lane, lead singer of the band Redfall. To put it nicely, he's an absolute mess - living the rock and roll lifestyle of the 80s but thankfully with a lot less kids. If I'm being honest I don't think Kennedy has been sober for more than about two hours per day within the past two years and that two hours only accounts for the fact that he sleeps forever and must be able to get rid of at least a small amount of alcohol by then.

Conversely, we have Abigail the Director of a Make A Wish type foundation who knows that despite the desires of the kids she's trying to make happy, she also has a moral duty to protect them long term from any potential negative after effects of meeting an addict that could break their already fragile hearts.

So in this we have the dichotomy of a no good rocker and what seems to be an angel on Earth. Kennedy and Abigail were actually really good together and I loved how they were both able to challenge each other as well as stand their ground on issues that were personally important to them.

I can see interesting stories being available from the remaining members of the band as well as a certain member of security so I'm looking forward to the continuation of this series!

I'm not sure if I was entirely comfortable with how the story seemed to tackle addiction, especially as Kennedy suddenly stopped drinking with no side effects and suddenly had a will of almost steel. Addiction isn't simply deciding not to partake in something, it's the body adapting to a substance and then believing it needs it to function. There are going to withdrawal symptoms and they're not going to be pretty

I loved everything about this book!! Rock the Dream was a sexy and sweet romance filled to the brim with enticing and charming characters. The smart banter and chemistry between Kennedy and Abigail alone will have me returning to this series again and again. It's that awesome.

Kennedy is a mega rock star who is stuck in an over indulgent lifestyle. Too many women, too much alcohol and drugs - not enough of anyone telling him no or giving him boundaries. He doesn't even seem to really be taking pleasure from it any more - it's just how it is.

That is until Abigail sees him for what he has truly become and rejects him from her program. He may be entertaining but he's also a hot mess that she wants no where near her kids.

It becomes the must needed wake up call for Kennedy as well as the start of an endearing friendship between the two. Kennedy intends to prove Abigail wrong. He can be a role model as well as the man she deserves.

They share an emotional journey of healing and eventually fall in love. It left me swooning and freaking glowing. I loved every moment I spent with this couple. They were engaging and intelligent. Witty. Clever. They have all kinds of hurdles to overcome but as a reader, you're rooting them on. You want them to succeed and to find happiness. Solace.

Their story moves at a fast pace and it is very well written. It was my first book from B.B. Miller & Leslie Carson but it definitely will not be the last - I'm now a huge fan of their writing. Rock the Dream was an excellent start to the Redfall Series and I cannot wait to read more. I recommend you find out why - check this book out today!

where to begin. this book is amazing. the characters are amazing. I got emotional a few times reading this book. Abby and Kennedy are just fantastic together. He is drowning himself in booze and she heads up a charity making sick kids dreams come true. when their paths cross because a sick boy wants to meet Redfall, well all their world's change. Kennedy wants to prove to her he is more than just a rock and roll chiché, he asks her to not give up on him, and against her better judgement and their not ideal first meeting she doesn't. Kennedy really steps up for the charity, for Abby, for the band, and his family. such a fun, sexy, beautiful story. a few typos here and there but I really loved this book. I can't for the second book in the series!

ITS MY JAM!!!

Rockstar romances are my jam and this is a smashing debut to a new Rockstar series. Rock The Dream is an incredibly inspiring and sexy love story that will leave you wanting more. It’s also a slow burn with meet me in the “red room” sexiness.
This unexpected tear-jerker has it all: famous rock group, groupies, Bromance and the girl next door. Kennedy Lane is sexy, flawed and recklessly drowning in his grief. Abigail is a hard nose professional who pulls no punches while telling it like it is.
When Kennedy falls for Abigail, he must prove himself to be worthy of a second chance. His first impression is the typical hungover Rockstar with no care in the world.
While the authors stay true to the moniker “sex, drugs and rock roll” I will admit I was concern about the drug use in the beginning of the story. They created a story with tenderness and validated how (and if) drug use can be depicted and still remain a swoon worthy romance.
At first glance, it may read like a typical bad boy Rockstar meets girl next door. But in the expert hands of Miller and Carson, it becomes a heart wrenching drama that poetically tackles themes of grief, love and the power of hope! In a storm of addiction and stardom, Kennedy and Abby carve out the perfect happy every after.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

Kennedy Lane is a piece of work! He's definitely got the whole rock star stereotype down pat. Alcohol - check. Drugs - check. Women - check. People - check. Though not all of those people are helpful in this type situation that's for sure. I am a fan of rock star romances and thought I'd give these two (new to me) authors a try! They did not disappoint.

I like that Abigail doesn't back down from Kennedy. Though she's highly attracted she doesn't allow that attraction to distract from the fact he's an addict. He has a problem and she won't allow Kennedy to upset this little boy's dream from the Foundation she runs for terminally ill children.

Kennedy is determined to fulfill his responsibilities for this kids dream. Even if he has to work through Abigail Walker's demands. There's something about that woman he just can't shake. His will demands it almost.

I thought these two characters worked well together with their give and take. There was just a bit of angst in the book but not so much that it overtook the story. Lots going on "behind the scenes" if you will.

If you're a fan of rock star romances - add this to your list. It's a good one to read for sure!

I'm a sucker for a good rock star romance, so when Leslie tweeted about the release of this book I knew I had to read it.
I will admit I had a hard time getting into this book. I wasn't entirely sure I was going to like Kennedy and I was almost positive I wasn't going to like Abby. But boy! Was I every wrong. As Kennedy and Abby got to know each other, and I got to know them, I fell in love. The back stories of both lead characters were interesting, well plotted, and made them both entirely likable. The secondary character were more than just background to the main story. They were well developed and piqued my interest enough that I'll definitely be reading more of this series.
I also LOVED that the authors skipped the typical romance trope of "The Big Misunderstanding." Once Kennedy and Abby got together, there were no contrived dramas and misunderstandings. There was only a real, believable relationship between two people.
I completely enjoyed this book, and recommend you pick yourself up a copy. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Rock The Dream by B.B. Miller & Leslie Carson was a book filled with some very serious subject matters that was handled superbly.

Miller & Carson tackle issues surrounding loss, addiction, and the battle to overcome disease. They do this with honesty, realism, and dignity.

Kennedy Lane is a famous rock star and finds himself embroiled in the loss of a loved one. He seems stuck in his remorse and grief, and uses everything he can think of to send Medicare his way out of feeling.

Abigail Walker is a woman on a mission. She is driven to make dreams come true for youth who are battling childhood diseases that can end their lives way too soon.

Both of these characters personalities leap off the page and leave you wanting them to both find what they're looking for.

4 Stars!!!

The main thing that stands out to you in this novel is the message about giving back and doing good. Rock the dream is exactly like the Blurb says. The rocker, Kennedy makes this kids day or dream, like make a wish come true. Abby is over the charity that handles it and she basically tells him that he is not coming within a hundred yards of the kids because he's a horrible influence. He straightens up for the kid Parker and for Abby. It's a long journey and Kennedy has bad influences all around him that make a sober road a choice that has to start with changes. There is everything in this book with crazy ex's and jealous girl drama. It takes you from highs to lows and touches your heart.

I seriously loved this story for so many reasons. One I love B.B's writing style. I felt so many different emotions reading this story. The characters were great. I really disliked Nadia on so many levels. I loved the flirting that went on with not only Abby and Kennedy, but also Matt and Tess. So much so that Matt and Tess left me wanting more from them. (only to be excited to find out the second book is with them) Great story line.. I did not see anything coming with this book. Some stories can be so predictable, but not Rock the Dream. I loved it.

THIS BOOK IS WORTH MORE THAN 5 STARS, IT IS WORTH A WHOLE GALAXY OF STARS. If this book was a record, it would have reached Platinum status. Oh my goodness, I did not know what to expect, but this book has all the feels, there were times I was crying, laughing, mad, sad and swooning. I absolutely loved Kennedy the hot rocker singer, just look at the cover, he has some issues, but swoon worthy. Abigail/Abby was a beautiful strong female that knows what she wants. I loved seeing there stories play out. I can't wait for the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book, it is so good.

This was recommended by a book buddy and she never steers me wrong. I loved this book. I loved that there was no unnecessary over the top drama! Kennedy was so swoon worthy. I love that Abby had a backbone and was not afraid to speak her mind. Cannot wait for Book 2!!! Matt...Tess...yes!!!

Great Rocker story

When children are involved, tears are close at hand. This story has some seriously touching moments with a particular young boy and a hard core Rocker. Kennedy has quite the tender heart, once he finds it in the fog of the life he’s living. Abby is impressive in her professional demeanor, and ability to continue in the middle of the Hottest romances of her life!

Suspension of Reality generally comes with the territory when reading Romance. But one thing I appreciate about Rock The Dream is that the Kennedy’s troubles do not magically disappear...at least at first. They kinda do later, but a time frame is not really specified and he makes reference to the help he seeks.

**spoiler moment**
The one disappointing factor was the potential for a big conflict with an ex, but the build up to the meeting simply fizzles. I would have liked to have had the suspense end with more of a bang.

Overall, the story was quite enjoyable, the characters interesting, and snippets of future stories alluded to that I will look forward to continuing.

So much more than 5 stars!

Rock the Dream might be one of my favorite rockstar books yet. I was sucked in from page one and could not put it down. The authors did an amazing job of touching on the sensitive subjects of addiction and also childhood illnesses. The chemistry between Kennedy and Abby was off the charts and I absolutely can not wait to get my hands on more from Redfall Dreams series.

Amazing read

What a wonderfully written book, with an amazing storyline to match. Abby and Kennedy are two people that no one would dare to put together, but together they make things shine!!! Both of them have such giving hearts that it's hard to compete with who pleases who more. I can't wait to read Tess and Matt's story.
