"I don't want to be a choice you have to make. I want to be your heart's only option."

Wedding planner Skye Douglas makes a career out of bringing fairytales to life—even if she’s given up on her own happily ever after. Instead of dating, she devotes time to her nephew, a guitar prodigy who shares her love for 80s hair bands. When she encounters Caleb Lynch, the new guitar teacher, everything changes. Caleb's passion for music—not to mention his Def Leppard T-shirt—makes Skye wonder if she might get her storybook ending after all.

Caleb would do anything for those he loves—including a fake engagement as a gift to his best friend's dying mother. But after meeting Skye, he regrets the promise he made.

When Skye realizes she’s fallen for the groom, will she listen to her head . . . or her heart?

You know what one of my favourite things about starting a new book is? The fact that not only do we get new characters, settings, styles of writing, but we have those first few moments of butterflies with a new couple. The first meeting, the first moment alone. The first kiss and the first date. When an author can plaster the biggest, cheesiest, happy smile on my face with these first few moments, I'm already sold. Sydney Logan does this to me every single time, without fail.

“Please don’t break my heart,” she whispers in the darkness.
She drifts off to sleep, saving me from making a promise I’m doomed to break”

Not only is Listen To Your Heart super cute, I'd classify it as adorable. Between Skye, Caleb, Eli and the rest of the gang, I couldn't stop smiling or laughing, to then in turn be hurting and hopeful for them. I not only wanted them to but needed these characters to work out.

“Caleb Lynch was exciting and intense and, in the end, completely devastating.
Stupid. I’m a stupid, stupid girl.”

When I first read the synopsis for this story, I instantly thought of the movie The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez. Granted, I don't think I've seen it in about a decade but I remember it being sort of (maybe loosely?) like this book - the groom falling in love with the wedding planner. Now with that being said, I'm truly surprised that there aren't more books around with this storyline and thank goodness there isn't, because this author might have just ruined the others for me. Seriously. I loved not only the groom/wedding planner aspect but how all the over elements fit together as well, then especially moving into how Juliana and Lyndsey worked together.

“It’s supposed to be romantic,” I mumble.
“Oh, it is. It’s also nuts.”

The only thing I can think that I would've liked to see change about Listen to Your Heart would be the length. I wanted it LONGER! Not only because I really liked story but I think this could've helped in a few different ways. A longer intro/build up between the relationship in these characters would've definitely toned down the instalove. Truthfully, it was really instalovey - this is your warning. I'm okay with this aspect on some levels, but when the characters are stating they're in love by page 50, I'm a little skeptical. However the first meeting and their first date? That was gold. No, better than gold. That was diamonds and platinum! I also think an extra 50 or so pages could've helped to build a stronger connection between the readers and the characters. Given us more to go on or even just a few more date scenes between Skye and Caleb if nothing else. Just a little extra 'oomph' to really knock it out of the park.

It's never been a secret but I have a big romantic heart which loves cheesiness and cliches and romantic comedies and anything that can make me feel all squishy inside. This book gave me exactly those kinds of feelings and I fell in love with this story as Skye and Caleb fell in love with each other. Plus that ending? YOU CAN'T GET BETTER THAN THAT! Oh my GOSH I had the biggest smile plastered in my face with everything that happened. Caleb *sigh* <3.

“Caleb’s deep blue eyes burn with emotion as he sings softly to me. I don’t care that we probably look ridiculous and cheesy. I don’t care that the waitress will most likely slash my tires. I don’t care that he’s singing slightly off key. I don’t even care that my best friend is going to scream bloody murder when I tell her about this moment.
I don’t care about any of it, because I’m here.
With him.
It’s exciting.
It’s terrifying.”

I'm a huge fan of little angsty moments in books, especially when they revolve around a circumstance that you know will blow up in everyone's face. In Listen To Your Heart, I had been waiting on the edge of my seat for this moment! I couldn't wait to see how the characters would react, how messy everything would become, how they might come back from that moment, etc. and I'm so happy to say that Sydney does not disappoint! This one pivotal scene was one of my favourites in the entire story and the author completely nailed everything. The setting, the emotion, the reactions, all of it was spot on. I freaking LOVED it.

“[...] if I’ve learned nothing else this week, I’ve learned that life is too short to wait for the perfect moment. I think, sometimes, we have to create those moments and hope they’re perfect enough”

This is the second story I've read by Sydney and I quite enjoyed them both. If you're looking for something cute and a little fun with a touch of angst that'll have you going out of your mind, check out this author and her impressive list of work!! Sydney Logan doesn't disappoint.

Sydney Logan has done it again and blessed the world with a wonderfully heartfelt novel. The characters are lovable and face many common problems that we all do: doubt, fear, anxiety, and heartache. I found myself rooting for the main characters and empathizing with their struggles. Listen to Your Heart teaches one to follow what feels right, that sometimes miracles happen when you least expect them to. I highly recommend this novel to any and all book lovers and to anyone looking for a story to warm the heart.

Sydney Logan has once again written a best seller. All of my emotions were going wild and I was singing from the very first page. If you love 80's music you will love this and if you don't you will by the end.
I felt like I knew each character and I could relate to the situations and the emotions. I have never been disappointed by Sydney Logan. Sometimes you just got to Listen to your heart! I give it a BIG THUMPS UP , 5 star all the way!

3.5 STARS.
The premises of this book were really good. Unfortunately the rhythm of the events was too slow and the insta-love between the two main characters was not realistic enough. In my opinion there were too many deep topics and none of them has been elaborated enough. Anyway I like the style of this author and her writing is simple and enjoyable to read.

I absolutely fell in love with this book cover and new as soon as I saw it that this would be one book that would stay with me well after I finished it. I was not wrong because even after finishing the book a day ago, I’m still thinking about the characters and immediate attraction that both characters felt for each other. Sydney Logan has written this emotionally heartfelt read that really tug at my heartstrings. I have been excitedly waiting for the release of this book and was not disappointed in it. As soon as I read that this story has 80’s rock music, a wedding planner and an unconventional whirlwind romance I knew this would be a book that I would love and I really did. I loved the writing style of Sydney Logan and the way she was able to express through her words every emotion that the characters were feeling.

When I finished reading Listen To Your Heart there was thing that I thought and that was we all need a Caleb in our life. Everyone needs someone who understands us completely and makes the most romantic gestures that bring an immediate smile to your face. Caleb I absolutely loved with the way the way that eh was willing to do anything to make his best friends mum happy with the little time she has left. It was apparent how much he loved and cared for his best friend and her family. He was a charming character that was loyal to the ones that he loved and he made me swoon so many times with the actions that he took to win Skye back. I adored the way he was with Skye’s young nephew Eli and the way he helped him with some of the big changes that were happening in Eli’s life. Caleb Lynch was perfectly written to be your next book boyfriend.

Skye Douglas was such a caring person and it was evident from the first chapter with the way that she took care of her Nephew Eli for her brother. The way that she made sure that he was all right and the way that she helped him to become interested in an instrument. I especially adore the way that she shared her love of 80s music with him and it has created a special bond between them. Once again Skye showed her caring ways by the way that she was willing to give up her happiness for someone else showed how much of a beautifully sweet person that she was. It is evident that she is good with people with the way that she handles people for her business and the way that she can calm down the nerves of the brides on their wedding days.

Listen to Your Heart is about Skye Douglas who isn’t looking for love finds the man of her dreams only to find out she is the wedding planner for his wedding. What she doesn’t know is he is getting married to his best friend because of a promise he made to her dying mother. Can the two of these characters overcome the obstacles in their way to have their own happily ever after.

Overall, Sydney Logan has written a story that really grabbed me from the start. The way that the characters met and their first date is something that really grabbed me. Despite the story having heart-breaking moments it was also a really sweet romantic story. There were moments were I teared up and there were moments were I was laughing out loud and that created the perfect emotions for the story. I absolutely adored the characters and the way that they connected with each other from the start. I absolutely loved the ending of the book an found that it was perfect for the story.

4 You're My Heart's Only Option CROWNS

Adoration! Complete and utter adoration is what I have for Listen to Your Heart by Sydney Logan. This heartfelt and romantic book had me cheesy grinning from 13% into the book, and I didn't stop until the very end!

I adore these characters, every single facet of who they are spoke to me. Skye and her love of all things 80s is phenomenal. The endless music and movie trivia is fantastic, and I found myself singing the songs in my head that the characters discussed (I also completely love the chapter headings and titles). More than her endless amount of trivia, Skye is the type of heroine I love, because while she can understand the motivation behind Caleb's actions, she knows what she is worth and demands it. Even though she is cautious about true love and soul mates, she isn't closed off, and I found this to be refreshing.

Caleb will romance the heck out readers just like he wooed Skye; they will not stand a chance. From his words to his actions, Caleb is the stuff of romance dreams, and seeing him interact with Eli only makes him that much more desirable.

Listen to Your Heart is a story that focuses on insta-attraction with a quick progression to love, but even with the quick pace of the relationship, it never felt false or forced. The author fully hammers home the idea that when you know, you know, and with life being so uncertain and often short, why wait. This idea, the driving theme behind her book, makes the pace of the story perfection. Both of these characters struggle to do the right thing and constantly consider what is appropriate for the courtship as well as others, but at the end of the day they embrace their passion for each other because nothing else matters!

It was such a joy to read this book. I laughed, I swooned, I cried, but ultimately it made me happy. The romance, the love, the grab life by your hands and live every moment resonated with me as a reader, and I couldn't get enough of Caleb and Skye's story. It will certainly be a book I return to and visit whenever I need a romance pick-me-up.

“It’s official. Your life is a soap opera.”

Yep, a big, juicy, adorable soap opera.

Let me preface this review by saying this: if instalove isn’t really, really your thing, please, don’t read this book. Listen to Your Heart is an instalove delight—sweet and cute and happy (mostly), but definitely not your cup of tea. If it is your thing, or you’re on the fence, READ IT. It’s so good.

I adored this book, and more than that, I needed it. In a world gone a little mad, it was so lovely to slip into a book that was shameless in its joy of love and a little bit crazy in its twists and turns, but altogether damn fun to read. It does read a little soap opera-like but in a good way—the best way.

It’s unpredictable and swoony. It’s a little out there and a lot charming. It’s escapism in a book—pure fairytale fun and characters you want to see thrive. I loved both Skye and Caleb. Did they always handle themselves in the best, most reasonable, logical way? Nope. Did it matter? NOPE. Because it added layers to this quick and delightful read.

And, like a soap opera, it was full of big emotions. Big choices. Big surprises. Big gestures. And big, juicy LOVE. *Sigh*

I’m falling too hard, too fast, and I don’t know how to stop.
What’s even worse?
I don’t want to stop.

Your truly can't go wrong when you read one of Sydney Logan's books. she always amazes me with such loving and heartfelt stories and characters that you just fall in love with. Skye and her partner own a wedding planning business and they have done so well they are constantly busy. The latest wedding is a strange one for them. Neither the bride nor groom don't seem to worried about the details, they just want the wedding planned. Also keeping Skye very busy lately is her nephew. Newly divorced parent and her brother Nick is always busy with work and leaning on Skye to help with his son, to take care of him. She is there to pick up her nephew from his music class when she meets his new teacher. Caleb has taken to Eli and also to Skye. Do you believe in Soulmates? a question asked in this story, see how Caleb and Skye deal with that question. Many things happen during the story that leave you feeling many things. Another great 5 star read.

Listen to Your Heart by Sydney Logan was a great book. I loved reading Skye and Caleb's story. Skye and Caleb are people that you truly hope will be happy, even though there were many times that I wanted to slap Caleb on the back of his head. This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. I love this book and think it's a must read. I can't wait to read more by Sydney Logan.

I have read a few books by this author this won’t be the last.

Listen to Your Heart was one of those books where you can feel everything they are feeling. I loved this book. I could not put it down. I loved the main characters and all the supporting people as well. Eli….I loved Eli and his interactions with Caleb. Caleb has such a big heart and is willing to sacrifice his own happiness to make the people around him happy. Skye as well. Did I mention all the 80’s music? I grew up I grew up in the 80’s they day of big hair bands. Loved that it was brought back in this book.

Caleb is the music teacher that is teaching gifted students. He is volunteering until his aunt can back from an emergency family crisis. Eli is his student and Skye is his aunt. I loved how Eli butted in and set up his Aunt Skye without even really knowing he was doing it...or did he? There are tons of feels in this book. There is family love, best friend love, and honest to goodness soul mate love. I am a romantic at heart and I was rooting for these two the entire time. I kept chanting you’re too good to be true, don't do it. Above all else this book to me is clean. I didn't need to read sex on every page. I still felt the emotions between them. There was so much detail. I loved how these two became friends, although were they ever just friends? At the same time Caleb is hiding a huge secret. We all know secrets are bad juju. They always come back to bite you. She is a wedding planner and he is guess what…...he’s the groom. He had no idea what she did. She owns the Wedding Belle’s wedding planning business with her best friend Lynsey. Skye is so afraid of having her heart broken. I don’
t blame her. She has seen her parents separated and she is front row center in her brothers.

Skye was a great aunt and picked up the pieces when mom and dad failed. I loved that Eli could count on her always. I loved how Caleb would listen to Eli.

“They fall out of love?” With a nod, I give him a sympathetic smile and hand him his guitar. He half-heartedly works on the chord. I feel bad for the kid. Obviously he needs to talk about this, but I don’t know much about his parents’ situation. Maybe I should text Skye. “Do they fall out of love with their kids, too?” The boy’s voice is just a whisper, but the pain is undeniable.

I loved how Caleb could count on Skye even when her heart was breaking. To me this book is a feel good book, with drama, lies, deception and omission. There are family and friends, and so much love. I was only disappointed when the book ended. I wanted more Caleb and Skye, oh and Eli. That ten year old boy was great.

Sydney Logan is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. Her stories are inspirational, heart-warming, and sweet as can be. I know I can go to one of her books if I'm in need of a pick-me-up.

While Skye plans weddings for a living, romance is the last thing on her mind. She's more concerned with taking care of her ten-year-old nephew Eli after his parents' recent divorce than finding Mr. Right. Plus, her last boyfriend hurt her bad, and she's not ready to go through that again. Until she meets Caleb. Caleb is Eli's hot new guitar teacher. Caleb is Skye's date to listen to eighties covers. Caleb is also the groom for one of the weddings Skye and her friend and business partner Lynsey are handling . . . but don't judge him just yet. It's not like that.

I flew through this book. The story is engaging and intriguing, and the tension had me flipping pages like crazy to see how Ms. Logan would resolve everything. It reminded me of My Best Friend's Wedding and The Wedding Planner. If you're ready to give your heart a work-out, cry a little, and smile a lot, I recommend Listen to Your Heart.

I received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

There are so many reasons to enjoy this book. The music references made me start to hum and sing. Caleb is so sweet! And cute! And just charming. Skye is scared of letting her heart go into his hands.

Caleb does protect those he loves and he wants to do the right thing. But, suddenly, the right thing is hard...and Skye is putting her own claims on him. For those that abhor cheating...no worries here. Well, I worried, but I trusted that Ms. Logan would lead us well, and she certainly did. I sincerely loved this story. It has all those "feels" we look for in a romance, that's for sure.

If you are looking for some musical memories to hum along with, and some sweet romance, this is the book for you!

Definitely FIVE BOOKMARKS!

A stand up guy who wants to keep his promise at any cost and a girl who will make him question his resolve.
I really loved this story of Skye & Caleb and willed for them to have their 'happy ever after', their story had me laughing and crying and singing ! through out the book.

Also, please tell me it wasn't just me who sang all the quoted songs as they read this one !

I gave this book 4 stars!

This book is quick, emotional read and can be devour in a matter of few hours. I absolutely love the storyline and the characters. From the start you will see two characters who fall on live very quickly and then the bottom falls out. To know what happens you will have to read it.

Skye is a wedding planner and has swore off men, until she meets her nephew Eli music teacher. Caleb teaches high school and is filling in for his aunts music class. As time goes on these two finds out they have chemistry, alot in common, but wasn't expecting is that Skye is Caleb wedding planner. Can Skye let her heart open up to Caleb to let him explain or will her heart break again?

This is a new author to me and I'm so glad I had the chance to read this book. Will be checking other works from her.

This is my second book by Sydney Logan and I’m still amazed by her writing and how she can convey emotions, from a single look to a first encounter, I felt a lot, sensed the tension in the air, the joy and laughter, from good times to the bad ones.

Listen to your Heart is a romantic comedy full of charm, sparkling, truly sincere and sugary sweet.

So when I read the blurb, I was intrigued. How can the author will manage that story? The only thing I can say? She did it great.

Skye Douglas is a wedding planner. Owning her business with her best friend, they are successful busy with a lot of weddings to plan.

Unlucky in love but having her nephew of 10 yo to care about since his parents were struggling with her personal lives, she was so happy to see him enjoying his music class. 80’s music fan, hopeless romantic, witty and sweet, the read haired is still looking for love. Until she met her nephew’s new music teacher.

Caleb Lynch … how do I start? Oh yes, first I have a crush for sure. Loyal, caring, handsome and just .. le sigh, book boyfriend material.

New music teacher, very charming and attractive, he wasn’t looking for complications at this moment of his life. Honoring his best friend’s mother wishes, he was determined to stick to his plan … until he met Skye.

I was talking earlier about the way the author could convey emotions, for example, let just say that Caleb and Skye first encounter marked me. I had the impression to be there at this moment and be a witness of a  “love at first sight” scene. After finishing the book, a lot of moments were still in my mind. I was so into the book that I read it in one sitting. I couldn’t stop.

As a music lover, I enjoyed to read how passionate they were, how music was a big part of the story. It gave a great rhythm, the music matching the character's mood. Back to the plot, even if the issue was predictable, I was surprised by all the turning events. Some subplots and twists for sure, leading to heartbreaking times, they had a lot to overcome but I loved reading their journey.

I admit it, I was very wary of the storyline at first. I wanted to see where the author was leading us, how create something when the main characters were doomed from the start? Thanks to the second characters, who are an interesting addition to the story. They played a great part on Caleb and Skye’s HEA and I have a big spot for her nephew.

I had a huge smile on this book throughout the story. It was romantic, sweet, funny, tons of good mood vibes, I was for one moment somewhere else. Totally far away from the real world, stuck into Caleb and Skye’s. I was a little sad to leave these great characters and I can tell without hesitation that I will read this book more than once. Absolutely sure about it.

I've read most of Sydney's books so far and trust me when I say that each and every one of them have something specially distinguishable about them. Listen to Your Heart was no different but this 5 star masterpiece really made me feel so many emotions.

Skye is a wedding planner who loves her job and also plays a big part in her nephew's life. Upon picking up her nephew from his music lessons, she meets his teacher. It was an instant attraction but this new found love interest came at the wrong time in Caleb's life. He has some serious choices and decisions to make. He's very conflicted.

I just love Sydney's stories, they are like a breath of fresh air. This one in particular had some 80's songs which brought back some cute memories for me. I was so deep into this journey, that I basically read it in a matter of hours. There was a surprising twist in the story that kept me intrigued all throughout. I wanted to see how it would play itself out. I love stories that don't give out the punch line right in the beginning because I tend to lost interest faster. I love this original storyline with a seamless plot. There were a few things going on but it never felt crowed. This story pulled on my heartstrings. At one point I was devastated but I was left smiling at the end. Bottom line this is a must read with beautifully written words of love.

This is a standalone told in a dual POV with amazing characters. I strongly recommend this story and all of this author's other books are worth the readers precious time and money.

Oh, my heart. I swooned when I read this book, and I’m willing to bet you will too!

The story has a few similarities with The Wedding Planner, but the plot differs greatly. Skye Douglas works as a wedding planner with her friend, while also jumping in to help her newly divorced brother with the care of his son Eli.

Although she makes a living making sure others’ big day goes smoothly, Skye herself is quite jaded when it comes to love. It is then that she meets Caleb Lynch, her nephew’s new guitar teacher, and finds herself falling head over heel. He loves music even more than Skye does, and shares her preference for 80s music.

Caleb has a secret, though, and all too soon the ugly truth is revealed, or so Skye thinks. He is the groom in the grand wedding she is currently planning. Heartbroken, Skye cuts off all contact with him, and reassigns the account to her business partner. What she doesn’t realize is that she can try to forget about Caleb, and think of numerous reasons why she’s right about this, her heart has other plans, and so has Caleb’s. She also doesn’t know his motivations for his engagement.

Luckily, Caleb is so easily deterred, and it was absolutely adorable to read how he tried to convince Skye to give him another chance. Without giving away too much, I can tell you’ll be absolutely satisfied with the outcome.

Another fun detail about this book is that the title, as well as the chapter titles, are all taken from 80s songs. Not only is this cute as can be, it is also a nice reflection of Skye and Caleb.

This is my first Sydney Logan book and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED it!!!!

I knew I had to read this because there was a child in it and it sounded forbidden. Both of those are some of my favorites to read.

The whole time I was reading Listen to Your Heart I felt like I was watching a movie. My new favorite romantic comedy. There were moments that were sweet, teary, and a little outlandish. All of that was the perfect mix.

I felt deeply for all of the characters. One of the reasons being how much music resides in us. I felt like I was Skye since we both have an obsession with all things 80's. So whenever anything was said about Dirty Dancing, leg warmers, or Rick Springfield I knew what they were talking about. My favorite band Def Leppard even got a mention.

I'm DEFINITELY going to read more by this author.

This is definitely one of my favorite reads of 2016! It is a must read that I will read over again. A feel good story with curve balls thrown in! Skye and Caleb make me want to play one of my old mix tapes from the 80's. I loved this story and this couple. I laughed and got teary eyed and yelled at both of them out loud. This story is so much more than you think. It's funny, sweet, light hearted, frustrating, and full of love. There are many different kinds of love with this cast of characters! I would give it more than five stars if I could! Sydney Logan, you are a breath of fresh air in a crazy world! This story had one of the best lines in a book ever, and I have read a lot of books. "I don't want to be a choice you have to make. I want to be your heart's only option." You have a beautiful way of telling a story Sydney that just pulls the reader in. Don't ever stop sharing that beauty with the world!

I am a romantic at heart. Howevere, I do not particularly enjoy stories where everything happens easily. I'm a sucker for a little angst, I admit. I found Listen to Your Heart to be that perfect balance between sweetness and though moments... I thought it was a tad early for Caleb to declare his feeling (we were on what, page45ish?), and I would have liked to get a bit more backstory on Skye... She doesn't trust easily, we know that, but she never shares anything with Caleb.

I admire Sydney's talent with words. She comes up with an enticing story, something that brings us along for a great ride.

I would have loved for the story to be a tad longer, giving us more details on certain parts. But overall, I really enjoyed the book and recommend it to everyone who loves a good romance where the characters have a few bumps to get over before getting their happily ever after.

☆☆Reviewed for Hooked On Books ☆ ☆

Hands down one of my favorite books this year! Listen to your heart has an 80’s music theme which I totally love! The chapter names are song titles – so I had to listen to each song before I read the chapter. It made the book a very fun read- of course I love 80’s music! I like that Sydney’s heroine, Skye is a strong woman who stood by her morals and values in spite of her heartbreaking! Skye is a huge 80’s music fan and meets Caleb who happens to teach music. They have instant chemistry and are having fun! Caleb is helping out his best friend by marrying her before her mom passes away. Skye just happens to be helping her partner plan the wedding – their wolds collide when Skye meets the groom! Find out what happens when Skye listens to her heart.

This is another wonderful, sweet, heartfelt story by Sydney Logan. This is the tale of Caleb and Skye. Caleb is Skye’s nephew’s substitute guitar teacher. Skye is a wedding planner. These two find themselves in a terrible predicament. They end up falling in love with each other, but Caleb has agreed to marry his best friend for her dying mother’s sake. And, unbeknownst to Skye, she is their wedding planner. There are tears. But, there are also some laughs. But, most of all, there are characters you will fall in love with.

One of the best lines in the whole book makes my heart just clench. Don’t we all want someone to say this to us: "I don't want to be a choice you have to make. I want to be your heart's only option."
