I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I am that this series is being published. I read eagerly the originally published serialized online version as it was being written and loved it all so much. Tawa is a skilled and gifted storyteller who I am privileged to call a friend. Through her previous writings, we became acquainted and started a friendship sustained by mutual interests. I have enjoyed her stories for years and am thrilled to see this particular one published. These characters, this story, affected me emotionally in a big way. Their struggles are poignant and affect me personally as I had similar life experiences. Andrew and Madison's story is one that I really can't wait to read in this version! This beginnings book left me aching for what Andrew endured and survived. I don't spoil in my reviews so I can't say more. Suffice to say that you really do want to take this journey with them. It's a heart wrenching and ultimately beautiful story!

IDK. I guess it's a prequel/novella, so maybe the short page count is the reason why I feel it's so rushed. We all know I hate short stories and novellas.

The age jump was one thing, but the character just didn't match with this guy who's in mid-20's? Who just finished a stint in jail. He comes out as.. a needy little man-child still.

I was hoping for a great new series, but I don't know if I'll like the writing and/or character development.

I doubt I'll continue... but I'm not quite certain yet.
