This author was new to me, but after finishing this book, I'll be looking out for more of her work. This story had hot sex, characters who enjoyed arguing as much as foreplay, and an Alpha hero pitted against a reluctant heroine.

Quinn Cordell views Christopher Colby as the devil. Matter of fact, she sees the entire clan of Colbys as the spawns of satan. Or some such equivalent. They're ruthless. Their attempted hostile takeover of her father's hotel resulted in a forced merger of the two companies. Quinn and Chris are tasked to work together as co-COOs. Chris has a reputation as a player but seems to only have eyes for Quinn, while she stands firm in her hatred of him. Too bad neither her panties nor her heart got the memo.

For most of the book there was plenty of angst (of the push and pull variety). It all came down to whether Quinn could put her trust in Chris and have faith in what they could be together.

It was difficult to get into the story at first. In the beginning, Quinn came off as abrupt, cold and abrasive. Chris seemed annoyingly arrogant. Also, there were many instances where I thought the story would have benefited from Chris's POV. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. I'm glad I pushed through because it turned out to be a great story.

Acquired Asset covers many issues, such as elitism, feminism, prejudice, loss, family, and ultimately love.

I tried. I really did, but these two characters have to be THE most annoying two people to ever live in Romancelandia. I swear I have a headache from listening to them screech in my head...*lol*

I had to put a stop to the madness before I injured someone or something...

I gave this book 4.5 stars!!!

When I first stared reading this book, I thought Christopher was a total A$$hole. By the end I had another book boyfriend!!!! This book took me by surprise of how the author took this seeming A$$hole and turned him into the man of any women's dreams. The characters had a lot of heat, steam and passion. My only downfall was that Quinn was stuck a little in her head to much but other that that it was an Amazing journey to see how these two come together at the end.

Quinn is the daughter of the CEO Joseph. They own a group of hotels and have just merge with another hotel group that is owned by the Colby's. They didn't fight fair and Quinn was bound and determine that she was going to be the one the board picked to be the next CEO not anyone with the last name of Colby.

Quinn mistakes a handsome, arrogant, Christopher as just a fun for one night. When she ends up in the supply closet with him she has know idea that he is the son of the Colby's. She puts a stop to all the sexual tension by telling Christopher that it can't happen and they need to remain professional. But Christopher has other plans for Quinn.

When Christopher past of using woman and having one night stands, Quinn thinks she is another notch. Can Christopher make and show her that she is getting the real him and not who everyone else sees?

This is new author to me, and I will be checking out other of her works.

Five Fabulous Stars! Quinn is set on stopping the Hostile takeover of her family's Hotel chain. Things did not go in her favor and now the two hotel chains are merging. Christopher's family joins with Quinn's in running the hotel chain. Quinn and Christopher have an instant attraction towards one another but Quinn does not know if she can trust him. Can Quinn and Christopher work through their differences and have a relationship that is separate from their business relationship. I have not read any other books by this author but that will change in the future since I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the first chapter and read this in one evening. The book is well written and the characters have great chemistry. I highly recommend this book!

This book was given to me for an honest review

5 stars

I absolutely loved this book. From the beginning it grips you and you don't want it to end. The characters were absolutely great in this. I loved everything about the story line. It kept me entertained the whole way through the book. I couldn't stop reading this book because I just wanted more of the characters every chapter I read. The whole premise of this story was cleverly written in. Knowing that your company is being taken over by the people that have hurt your father then finding out that you are attracted to the very son that is hurting your family what do you do? There is so much in this story that makes it so interesting. Not only the underlining story line, but you have the romance that goes back and forth, because how can you trust the one person that can destroy you? How do you become part of a person that can end your company? That's what makes this story great. Because you always have to be a step ahead and its fun to watch the banter between Christopher and Quinn through this whole book. The more you read and get involved with the characters, you don't know who to route for. If you can only route for one because you want both of them to win. Now you have to have more drama within the family. How evil can a parent be? Oh you will find out as you read this story.

Quinn's dad has to do a merger with the very people that are trying to take over his company, just to save it. Quinn doesn't know a way out of what is happening, so she shucks it up and tries to figure out how she is going to get the votes to her dad. When this all starts Quinn is just bad a$$. She is no hold bar kind of girl. The more she fights the stronger she gets. Her motivation is something any woman should live for. I loved how strong she was through out this book and how the story played out for her. Just know when she meets Christopher, she has met her match. Christopher is just as strong as Quinn is and the are the perfect match. They complete each other, they push each other and they make each other better. Christopher is such an alpha that you just want more of him. He knows what he wants and he wants Quinn. He does everything possible to make her his. Was it enough? You will just have to see. Not only do you have these two characters I also liked seeing Reagan and Evan's story unfold and also Quinn's dad and Constance. I loved everyone's interaction in this book.

I couldn't get enough of this book and I want more of this author. I am hoping that I can start reading more from this author because I don't want to miss out on anything that is written.

This was my first book by Z.N. Willett and I can say that I am glad I gave this new to me author a chance. This book will suck you in right from the start and keep you completely immersed in the story. The chemistry between Quinn and Christopher have is one that could not be dismissed. This makes things difficult considering that even though their families have merged neither family like each other. In fact they are more or less like enemies who work together.

God I wanted to hate Christopher so bad, especially in the first half of the book. He is so cocky and arrogant and lets not forget that he knows that if he wants you, he can have you. He sets his sights on Quinn and is ready to go all in, in the battle to make her his. First he has to prove he isn't the man who she thinks he is. That he isn't like his family, but can he be trusted? Is he more like them that he implies? Will getting involved with Christopher be the worst mistake she could make?

Quinn doesn't want anything to do with a Colby so when she is so drawn and attracted to Christopher she is determined not to fall into his trap. She is going to fight the attraction with all that she has. She has some major issues with getting close to people and especially with someone she doesn't think she can trust. The push and pull between these characters is one that can be frustrating but entertaining. There were times when I wanted to smack her for all the back and forth but as you read its completely understandable. Will Quinn be able to resist Christopher? What happens when secrets are revealed? Will Quinn's family lose their business?

I highly recommend this book. It is one that you will have a terrible time putting down in order to do anything else. I had to know how it was all going to play out and it was a battle until the end. You won't know how it is going to go because just when you think you know BAM things happen.

Quinn has sworn Christopher as her enemy since he tried to take over her fathers company. Now that their companies are merging, they're both named COO. The position of CEO is almost up for vote between their fathers. One will be named CEO and the other President of the newly merged company. The instant connection between the two does nothing to sooth Quinn's anger towards Christopher and she absolutely won't let something happen between them. He has other ideas but when a family member interferes with the board and their decisions, can they team up to get to the bottom of things before its too late?
I loved these characters and it only got better once they worked together. Quinn was a tough and brilliant business woman. She knew she had to work harder but that was ok with her. The business her father built from the ground up was her dream. She was a lot less confident in relationships, especially one with Christopher. It takes a lot for her to trust and let people in, especially someone who she considers an enemy. I loved her loyalty to her father and their company.
Christopher would do anything to prove his loyalty to Quinn. He was harsh in business but loved fiercely. When it comes to protecting both Quinn and the company there is no stopping him. The dynamic was great once they got out of their heads and worked together. This was a story of love and trust in a world where businesses are forced to merge and the families are pitted against each other. I loved the drama and following these two through their journey. They certainly had a lot of hurdles to overcome and I wasn't left disappointed. It was well written but I did feel some of it was repetitive. It was definitely worth the read and I wouldn't hesitate to read more from this author.

Christopher Colby and Quinn Cordell start off on the wrong foot right away, when he mistakes her for one of his high class hookers. Well the shock that they both experience is electrifying, when they are finally introduced to each other at a company celebration merging their two companies of Cordell and Colby. Because of the initial mistake, that Christopher made with Quinn, the dislike from is apparent. A lot of scenes filled with sex, which actually takes away from the real plot, which are two companies merging with two COOs; one was coming from a family of old money and one from a family who built their business from the ground up. Both Christopher Colby and Quinn Cordell, as dual COOs, have their work cut out for them, especially since they need to keep their focus on their companies, and remain professional as well. This is a daunting task, especially since Quinn really does not like Christopher or his family. However both Christopher and Quinn are very dominant and stubborn individuals, and do not give in very easily. So how will this play out in the world of corporate politics? Male against female? Company against Company? Or old fashioned "love?" I'll let you decide. I liked the part of the plot regarding the two businesses and how much a Board can affect a company in many aspects of how a business can be run. I also liked the way these two businesses did operate both independently and inter-independently. I really did not like pages and pages of sexual acts that took place consistently in the workplace. These sexual acts ran rampant throughout the book and I feel did not really do the book justice. Reviewed by Hot Box Reviews on FB. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

I was given this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars!

I couldn't put it down, and read it straight through. Luckily, I started it early enough that I'll still get a good night's sleep. "Acquired Asset" is about two strong willed individuals, that have to work in close proximity to each other as co-COOs in their newly merged company. Now sparks begin to fly and bystanders look for cover!

Quinn must find a way to get out of her own head and learn to trust her gut. Christopher has to work in order to get passed his reputation and convince Quinn that he's not such a bad bet. And while they're working on this, their other work, the actual work-work, still has to happen. Two highly motivated people both working to ensure their own family takes control of the joined company in the form of the CEO. Is it possible? Can they learn to trust each other and look at what's best for the company?

I really enjoyed this book! Quinn was a strong, competent, and independent woman, working to overcome the demons in her past in order to have the bright and brilliant future that was within her grasp. Christopher was a take charge kind of guy that knows how to go after what you want, and to work hard when it matters. I loved the interaction between them, and the way Z.N. Willet used instant messages in the story. I'll definitely be recommending this book to friends.

Acquired Asset is a a high powered story of trust and love within corporate america. I loved this story of two families that were enemies at one point and now forced to merge together to create a super corporation. That doesn't mean that they like each other though. And trying to figure out how to blend the new corporation will prove challenging.

I loved Quinn's character. She was everything I wanted her to be. She was tough and didn't take any crap from anyone. She knew she had to work hard because her counterpart with the other family was a man but that didn't stop her. The only thing she didn't do well was put her heart on the line.

Christopher was the perfect man for Quinn. He injected the right amount of humour and passion that made her crazy. He worked hard to get through her walls that she built up over many years. I loved his directness and honesty.

They have huge hurdles to overcome. (Mainly their families.) Christopher's mother is a major bee-otch. Quinn's father isn't happy about the situation either.

Acquired Asset made me laugh, cry and get enraged. The perfect trifecta. ZN Willett injected the right amount of passion that made this story addictive. And the ending had an emotional punch that made want to read the book all over again.

Christopher Colby is first and foremost a businessman. Secondly, he is a sexy and rich bachelor. Always having a different girl on his arm, he wants for nothing and does not like the word now.
Quinn Cordell is a tough as nails business woman who works for her dad’s company. She is sassy and as head strong as they come. When Colby’s family tries to take over Cordell’s father’s business things get intense. The companies settled on a merger and now the race is on for a CEO. No one thought that there may be a little more than just business dealings going on.

This is my first book by Z. N. Willett and let’s just say I am pleasantly surprised. Most of the time whenever I read a book and a lot of the inner workings of the book are about things I have no clue about I get bored, but that wasn’t the case with Acquired Asset. I was intrigued about the tough woman that was Quinn. Watching her take on a huge company and handle a field that is mostly made up of men struck some serious girl power in my soul! Then you throw in the sexual tension between Quinn and Colby, you have got yourself a seriously good book here!

I received an ARC of Acquired Asset in exchange for my honest review.
Wow! This book had me within the first 5 pages!
I knew going into it, it was a story about a women and a man who were likeminded in the business world. But once I started I learned pretty fast that Quinn was a strong business women, who was young but would not let a Colby take what was left of her father's company even though they were in the mist of a merger. She was co president with the oldest Colby son, Christopher. This man is Quinn
s arch nemesis. He tried to take her family business and crush it. She's not too happy about the merger, but hopes she that he father will be named CEO by the board. One night Quinn meets a handsome man who quickly controls her and gives her the best orgasm of her life. It's not until much later that she realizes the devil himself is the man who brought her to her knees. Christopher comes of domineering as well as cocky, but through the book both Quinn and Christopher change and we get to come along for the ride. And what a ride it is! Simply amazing, and so different from the other books I've read lately. I love a strong female lead that a strong male lead admires.

Quinn Cordell plays an important role in stopping a hostile takeover of her family’s hotel chain by the Colby family. Although she stops the takeover she cannot stop the two Companies from merging.

It's at this point that Quinn first meets Christopher Colby - her counterpart from Cobly’s. From their very first unconventional meeting, which involves a case of mistaken identity, they have an undeniable attraction to each other.

We then get to see if Quinn and Christopher can work through their differences to enable them to have a relationship that is separate from their business relationship. However, with pressure coming at them from both their families the path to their future happiness together won’t be quick or easy.

I did enjoy this book and loved both Quinn and Christopher, the only reservation I have is that I didn’t feel much empathy for any of the secondary characters as I didn’t feel I got to know them well enough.

5 "pissed off at the mother-in-law " Stars

Let me tell you: I found it appropriate that the asshat in the book had a name similar to the bitch in Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent. The 6 year old in me rejoiced at that page when you hit 85%. I made myself some celebratory Sangria. So, here is what happens. 2 families (not it's not Romeo and Juliet, calm down) go in business together, and not happily. Both the heirs of the families meet each other in, ahem, a not so PG13 moment, and they do not know how to separate business from pleasure. One CEO will be chosen, one president, and so forth. They both have family legacies to protect but will they give their hearts a chance? Also, they have a cheating father, an ill father, a dead mother, a motherly figure, and bitch of a mother who needs to drown herself in botox and rum and stay there... That was emotional. AND completely fabulous!

Two head strong people both want what they want and nothing will stop either from getting what they want but will the chemistry they feel burn them up or will they both be too stubborn to find happiness. This is a great story between two people trying to come out on top but in the end, it will surprise them both. This is a great funny, hot story that will take you on a ride and hold your attention till the end. Christopher and Quinn are great characters that will draw you into their story. This story will entertain you all the way through. Sure, there were times that I wanted to say really. But they were far and in between. These characters were written perfectly and while I don’t think the plot was pulled off perfectly it still turns out to be a good read.
This is a great read to get involved in if you are looking for a nice, funny book to pass the day. It is definitely worth reading. I was not disappointed at all. Z.N.Williet did a great job with this book .

This is the first time I have read any of this authors work, and my word, it will definitely not be the last. When Quinn’s family hotel chain in targeted for a hostile takeover, she is the one assigned to stop it. When Quinn and Christopher first meet they really get off on the wrong foot due to mistaken identity, which is not helped that his family is the one involved in the takeover.
These two have to work extra hard in order to have a relationship, as insecurities and meddling mothers need to be dealt with.
I was hooked and intrigued with this book from the very beginning. This author has done a great job in writing this story, and I for one, cannot wait to read more of her work. I recommend this author for all.

Thanks s is the first book by this author that I've read.
Christopher Colby and Quinn Cordell are both adult children of high powered heads of hotel chains. The two companies merge but there is some animosity between the families about the way it happened.
Both Quinn and Christopher challenge each to be the best at their jobs. There is no smooth sailing in many instances between these two.
The characters are described with good detail and the storyline is sound however I felt there was some repetition and not as much meat, to get your teeth into, as there could have been in this story.
In saying that it was an enjoyable read with likeable characters- except Millicent! Well there has to be a baddie somewhere to balance it out!

Quinn and Christopher are both COO’s of a multi-billion-dollar company, these companies have recently merged together and they are struggling to work together.

Christopher has made it very clear that he wants Quinn, however she is reluctant to start anything with him due to issues between both of their families and that she doesn’t think she can trust him.

They will have to fight through Quinn’s insecurities, meddling mothers and more to be together.

This is a great book, took me a few chapters to get into it but once I did I really enjoyed it

Right away, the story grabbed my attention and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.

Quinn’s family hotel chain was targeted for a hostile takeover from the Colby family. Quinn was key in stopping the takeover and instead the two hotel chains were merged into one company.
Quinn meets a handsome stranger at a company gala celebrating the merger. Quinn lets the stranger get really close before finding out who he really is. The stranger turns out to be her enemy, Christopher Colby.

I fell in love with Quinn from the very start. It took a little longer to be on Christopher’s side. Eventually he did win my heart. I loved this story!

Quinn and Christopher, two COO leaders for different companies that are merged and find themselves struggling to work with the new hotel chain. They are both attracted to each other, but their meeting wasn’t that perfect, now they are faced with finding a way to trust. The attraction in undeniable, their chemistry is over the roof, sex is amazing, but would they find a way to overcome their professional issues?

I absolutely love this story, Z.N. Willett is a great romance author, I have the pleasure of having read her previous books and this is one has become my favorite. Give it a chance and I am sure Acquired Asset will surprise you.

Christopher could be a bear when he needs alone time with his woman, “get out,” he demanded. They all stood wide-eyed and I stayed planted. Then he said, “Get. The. Hell. Out!” Everyone scattered." Once Christopher and Quinn remove their heads from their ***es I found I liked their dynamic:
“I would never hurt something that provides me so much pleasure.” I joked.
He looked even more nervous. “Quinn, don’t joke about my junk, sweetheart.”
I loved this book, Quinn and Christopher matched each other perfectly.
