Creature of Habit Book Two was everything I was expecting and more. Not only do we ramp up the romance aspect, but the action never falters. We join Amelia after learning that the recluse she has been working for is much more dangerous than she ever expected. No matter, she still can't erase the draw she feels to him. Book Two delivered on everything you'd expect from a supernatural romance. Some of the lines Grant delivers sent shivers up my spine he was so earnest in his feelings. Where Book One set us up in the world we were about to explore, Book Two fully immersed us in that world and showed us how true the evil they are facing is. If you haven't started this series, I highly suggest that you do. Book Three is sure to be the icing on the cake.

Fast paced, fights, and plenty of conflict

This story picks right up from book 1. It continue from both Amelia and Grant's point of views. The sexual tension between Amelia and Grant continues to heat up. Caleb's "games" continue and become more disturbing. The role of the Shifters changes. Another quick read that just doesn't stop.

I had heard so many good things about this book series, and the author, before I finally caved in and decided to read the Creature of Habit book series. Admittedly, I was late at getting to the party, but in hindsight I wish I just left the books alone.

description

With the books just being a rip off I’m having a hard time wanting to write a proper review. So, what can I say? Save yourself from this poorly written Twilight fanfiction. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind fanfiction, but the author should at the very least have had the courtesy to warn new readers that this is a Twilight fan fiction and thus, not an original idea. But no such luck.

Plot wise there’s not much to say really; Grant and Amelia are even more oblivious to what's going on to anyone, but themselves, and they care even less about how their actions affect the others', including each other. Amelia acts like a teenager with her attitude and sulks whenever she doesn't get exactly what she wants, so much even, that she forgets about the danger around her and just runs away from her protection.

Even if this had been an original idea I don’t think it would have been for me. I am so fed up with heroines that are solely ruled by their emotions, especially when you'd think that it would be in their own best interest to stay alive!

This is Book #2 of the Creature of Habit Trilogy, and it does not disappoint ! 😀👍

This is the continued saga of Amelia Chase and Grant Palmer, human and vampire. They have discovered together that they bring out the best in each other and have something special -- love; powerful, driving, consuming ! Of his family, all have helped protect Amelia, but Sebstian finds it insupportable, and has left at a crucial time. Olivia, Grant's 'cousin' is missing! Elijah her husband and the rest of the family are searching for her. They know that Caleb has her...

The war with Caleb and his feral neonates (fledglings) continues raging with him still being a few steps ahead! This is a personal vendetta against Grant for what exatly we haven't figured out yet! Grant has taken something of Caleb's in the past; his mate in the present and Caleb intends to destroy Grant, his family and community relations, by using Amelia as a fledgling to destroy him.

The Native people of Lost Cove, the Melungeon, in the midst of their grief have decided to help get rid of Caleb, but they feel that Amelia should be used as bait (to Grants' disgust).

Will Grant and his family survive his relationship with Amelia? What will the Council impose on their continued relationship? Will Olivia survive this torturous ordeal? And will Amelia and Grant be free to be together as they are?

Excited to read Book #3 of the Creature of Habit series, 'Vampire's Mate'
For 16+, cozy paranormal mystery romance! Spoiler alert -- violence, ripping, tearing, shredding (and maybe you'll cheer!)

I am done

You are to long winded and I do not care how this book ends. I guess you will be another author added to the do not read list. You could have cut out a bunch of the crap and put the story in one book and it would have been better. Also might be a good idea to let readers know you are writing three books to get the whole story. Stop the crap and put the story in one book.

I was curious about where Lawson would take Grant and Amelia after book one so I tried book two. Again, I really don't know how this author got away with publishing this without infringing on Stephanie Meyer's copyrights, this was exactly like Twilight. I found myself more bored than interested in this installment and there was too much sex. I won't be reading book three.

The shorter of the three books. I do like these books, far better then that counterpart series that they may be based off of? But I am just speculating here. They do make for a good, entertaining read. Am I enjoying them? Yes. Am I excited for the third? Yes. Will I read them again? Not likely. But still worth the initial read

Amazing

I'm usually not much into vampire books but I read the first one of this series in a book bundle. The storyline and romance in this series is very addictive. I can't seem to put it down!

This is book two in a cliffhanger romance saga. We open with New Moon in reverse. But, as you would expect, things shift and heat up. There is some steam in this book. There is violence and allies and family. I’m excited and wary for the finale.

Not as good as the first book but I do like the fact that Grant and Amelia's relationship progressed in a realistic way.

You Are Not A God

No, I considered, feeling the heat rise. I am not a God, but my wraith will be just as vengeful.

Prologue, Creature of Habit: Book Two

And with those damning thoughts, vampire Grant Palmer sets out to destroy those creatures who have been on a serial killing spree in the city he’s vowed to protect. Alone — his love, Amelia Chase, having rejected him after witnessing his merciless shredding of another creature to pieces — Grant attempts to refocus his existence on the capture and destruction of the sociopathic vampire, Caleb. Caleb, for reasons unclear to Grant, is playing a gruesome and deadly game of chess with Grant, using those closest to the vigilante vampire as pawns.

Amelia, in shock, terrified by the horror she’s witnessed, attempts to convince the rational side of her self that a life without Grant is possible. But, the heart wants what the heart wants, and Amelia is soon back in Grant’s life, if only for the purposes of her own self-preservation. Ensconced in a guest room in Grant’s home, Amelia and Grant can’t help their attraction to one another, and as Caleb continues wreaking mayhem on those close to the couple, Grant and Amelia inevitably come to the realization that there is no life without the other.

Creature of Habit: Book Two is the second installment in Angel Lawson’s Creature of Habit Trilogy. Initially derived from her very popular Twilight fan fiction of the same name, Creature of Habit: Book Two continues on the same plot line regarding the romance between Grant and Amelia. But all bets are off as to the rest of the story. Author Lawson has added layer upon layer of new content — fascinating glimpses into the vampire/shifter mythology, as well as detailed and intriguing character histories — fresh material that leaves any comparison to a certain young adult fantasy novel in a plume of purple smoke and ash.

Angel Lawson is at her best here — she has the ability to take her readers from the tender emotions of blissful love and, with a masterful stroke, render them next stunned in horror. It’s a rollercoaster ride, from one chapter to the next, and what an intense, gripping ride it is!

Creature of Habit: Book Two is a standalone novel. It has a prologue and epilogue that sufficiently sets the scene for the story in such a manner that one does not have to read the first installment. However, this reader recommends that both books be read, and in sequence — not out of necessity, but rather for pure pleasure. Creature of Habit: Book Two contains scenes of graphic bloodshed and violence, as well as explicit sexual scenes (Holy Hallelujah, Batman!). It is written for a mature audience and is not bedtime fare for the kiddies. So — go ahead — pour yourself a goblet of O(h, my) Positive and enjoy!

I love the words that Angel Lawson writes. Creature of Habit is a page turner for sure and, after finishing the first book, I couldn’t wait to get to the end to see what happened. I was both excited and saddened when I finished this one. The anticipation from waiting to see how this love story will play out is killing me. I need to know what Grant is going to do about Caleb and his future plans for Amelia.
5+ stars from me for sure!

15th November 2018 - I don't know what i was doing when i first read these books because i absolutely loved this the second time around.

It was funny, romantic and action packed with some truly captivating moments along with horrific ones. Love the two main characters and the extended family with Ryan and Olivia being my favorites.

Only a few gripes such as Amelia talking to random strangers when shes supposed to be in hiding and also the Caleb story is dragging a bit too much now.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok so this i liked less than the first as the romance took a ridiculous rushed turn and it lost all believability for me. The plots getting a bit messy too so it will be interesting how this wraps up in the third book.

At the moment I am silently cursing my IADD because I have so many thoughts but getting them down in a coherent review is nigh impossible.

This launches in straight where CoH1 ends, while it still harks back to it's original roots, there have been elements added, a new plot twist or two, BUT it doesn't lose any of it's banter! I still love the writing style.

I will not spoiler it for anyone, the story mixes few genres, but I chortled/swooned/grinned/and hell-yessed! Loved how this series is progressing.

Is book 3 available for pre-order yet?

This was a continuation of the story in book one, ending with a setup for the concluding book three. It was mostly about the primary couple, and there was a little expansion of some secondary characters. Amelia continues to push Grant past his comfort level.
I was dismayed by the errors. The author incorrectly put commas and periods outside single quotes but inside double quotes (they belong inside both). There were a few missing or misplaced words and apostrophes. Were was written for where, less for fewer, lead for led, breaks for brakes, jeep for Jeep, and hoard for horde.

I'm really glad that I read this 2nd book! It begins to fill in some blanks that irked me a little from the 1st book. The story, characters, & motivations are fleshed out better in this book. I hope by the end of the trilogy all will be clear. I really enjoy the style of this author. The words flow so well & the story is intriguing. I will be reading the next book.

Loved this continuation into the lives of Grant and Amelia. Amelia learns more about Grant and who he really is and isn't scared away like he thought she would be. Really needing to read the rest of their story. Its been such a great one so far and to see how these two are finding that melding their worlds together just might work.

Book 2 was good! I enjoyed learning more about Amelia and Grant. Seeing how they finally come closer and open up to each other was really nice. The continued character development not only of Amelia and Grant but Grant's family is great. Can't wait to read Book 3!

I'm totally torn. I loved this original story and the suspense and excitement it could invoke but this one it just slightly missing it's mark. I don't even think I want to read the next one just in case but I think I'll give it a go.
