Hold on tight, stick to the racing line, and watch for the corners.

Four years after making the decision to leave his home town behind, all of Declan Reede's dreams have come true. Unapologetically foul-mouthed and well known for his off-track antics, his success seems unstoppable. At least until Queensland Raceway and a chance sighting of the girl who once held his heart. Now, getting around the track seems an impossible battle as he struggles to return to his previous form. With his career racing downhill faster than his V8 on Mount Panorama, there's more than just his reputation on the line.

What will it take to put the brakes on his decline?

Nice race car romance novel that will rev up your engine! Declan is not one to settle down with one woman. Alyssa has been his kryptonite and seeing her four years since the split turns his world up side down. She becomes his sweet obsession and rekindles the spark in their relationship. Her presence in his life affects his perfromance as a driver and brings out many strong emotions. This creates a heady atmosphere and Declan is making serious mistakes. His career is in danger and it’s time for crucial decisions.

The book was fast paced but you were able to stay right a long with it. The writing was honest and smooth and there was a good mix of characters. The plot was good with credible dialogues. With the right mix of extreme sexiness, romance and drama, Decline is a fantastic read that you cannot absolutely do without.

I thought the hero was anything but. Sure, he's on the decline as the title explains. However he's dangerous to himself and others.

He pushes a one night stand so much so she slams against the wall(not in a consensual way but in a violent one) He treats these women with no respect. We even find out he threatened to slit his mother's throat if she brought up Alyssa.

Then? When he finds out the big (read obvious) secret the heroine is hiding? He throws her out of the room. Excuse me?? She tried so hard to contact him. For her trouble he sent her a video of himself in a threesome (or was it foursome, I can't recall) and told her he wanted nothing to do with her.

Is that the actions of somebody you'd want to spend your life with? I'm tired of the alcohol and drug excuse. This goes to the fundamentals of his character. He is selfish sober or drunk.

I think there is a dark message in this, in that people this unhinged can be fixed by somebody else.

Nobody can save this guy, he has to do it himself. Blackmailing him in to therapy isn't the answer either.

Meanwhile, of course the other hot guy in the heroine's life is not her lover. Wouldn't want her to have experience with a normal loving guy now would we? Because otherwise why would she return to this abusive tool.

I don't see strength from the heroine and I don't see wounded from the hero. I see a doormat and a selfish jerk.

If anybody I loved was involved with this guy? I'd stage an intervention.

4 DECLINE STARS!!!

One.Hell.Of.A.Book!
Nothing prepared me from what happened in this book. I thought I could put the pieces together since well,I read the introduction novella, but f*ck no! The story keeps going better and better that it took me several pauses just to savour each moment and feel all the roller coaster of emotions it gave me.
So anyway, this story picks up four years after Declan chose his race career over his first love and family. I could say the author gave Declan's charater a realistic appeal. The hunger for fame and that feeling of being alive! The living of his DREAM!!! WOW!!! but despite all that, there's still that lacking part of himself, the one that haunts his every dream. That one particular reason of his "crashes and DNF's".
Entered 'Fate' when he's about to sort his self out. And that's where the every twists and turns of the story starts. It also started the moment when I really wanted to enter into the book and maybe slap some sense to Declan but at the same time hug him so tight because you know, I just felt him. His every emotion triggers something deep within me. And of course, I wanted to high five Alyssa...such a strong heroine.

And to top of it all...arghhhhhhh...that revelation!!! What the hell???? It broke my heart into pieces....

I really wanted to crawl into this author's mind so atleast I can be prepared for what will happen next. The book is just fantastic that it really made me hate my work coz it messes with my reading schedule. Michelle Irwin, you really have done great! I cannot wait for the next book.

Decline is listed as book one in the Declan: The Untold Story, but I have to say it is really book two because you do need to read the novella, Decide, first to fully understand the history of Declan and Aylssa.

I also feel you should know is that this book does end in a cliffhanger. I prefer to know before starting a book when they end in one and nothing warned me of this ending.

Now for a spoiler alert if you have not read Decide, Decline picks up four years after Declan decided to leave the girl of his dreams, Alyssa, and take the racing contract and move from his hometown.

He is living his dream, quickly moving up to be the one to watch out for at such a young age. He is also known as a manwhore and even the photos the paparazzi caught of him with 2 girls at a club did nothing but boost his ego.

Then something happens after a glimpse of Alyssa at one of his races. She is there with some other guy, yet would never come to any of his races when they were dating. His thoughts become consumed of her and his career is on a major decline.

He is now on his way of setting a new record, DNF - Does not finish - as each race ends with him crashing the car. He needs to sort himself out and figure out what is happening so after his latest crash he is sent on a sabbatical to do just that.

Once again this story is told in Declan’s point of view and the author has done a great job of keeping his thoughts and actions realistic. There were a couple things that were predictable but so much of the story I so didn’t see it coming. It is one that will have your emotions all over the place.

The supporting characters play a major part in the story and you can relate to these characters. Just when you think it's going down one road, something happens and takes that unexpected turn.

The years of hurt and pain aren’t washed away in a blink of an eye, which again, the author kept things real. I didn’t want to put the book down and can’t wait to read the next book.

I freakin LOVE this book, and Declan. What I'm not so clear about, is why Michelle Irwin is trying to kill me?!

Declan Reede is finally living his dreams of racing for his favorite team, Sinclair Racing. He is very successful, has a foul mouth, and is a giant manwhore after leaving Alyssa, the girl he loves, behind. After 4 years, a chance glimpse of Alyssa in the stands at a race, has all his old feelings choking him. He can't sleep, can't focus, and is coming close to breaking the team record for DNF's (did not finish). His life is quickly spiraling out of control, and he doesn't know how to stop it. Will he be able to find peace before he crashes and burns literally?

WOW! Decline caught my attention quickly, held me hostage throughout, and left me enraged at the cliffhanger ending. This may not go over well, and trust me, I don't say this lightly, but even though Declan is out of control, I don't see it as all his fault. Does he need to get it together? A thousand times yes, but I feel Alyssa has half the blame for her choices. The story is a HUGE emotional ride, with a HUGE secret that throat punched me. Character development is fantastic, with a fabulous storyline that flows very smoothly. Since I needed the next book yesterday, it's going to be impossible to patiently wait. Congrats Michelle Irwin on an AMAZING story, AND making the list of authors trying to kill me! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

WOW..this book was such a ride. This book is about 4 years after book one ended... Declan and Alyssa are definitely at different places. With a chance meeting will they be able to salvage if anything but a friendship if that.

There are so many things that come into play in this book. Declan, really needs to get his stuff together, he is a drunken fool. I love Declan but I was ready for him to get his SHIT together.. OMG.. Declan has the worst mouth EVER..hahaha... He drops more F bombs. But even though you feel Declan has hit rock bottom. I can see him trying to pull himself together for what Alyssa, for himself...

Alyssa...I am heartbroken for her. I could not fathom what she is going through. She is one strong women and to not take Declan's crap.. High five!!!

I loved watching these two try to reconnect, try to heal and try to put trust back on the tab. However the story does not end with you completely figuring it out... Holy Cliffhanger.. I cannot wait till Dec... This book is really good, I was entertained from page one book one.. This book did not disappoint. Can not wait for the next book.

Please note this review may contain spoilers.

Sorry Michelle, I'm just going to put this out there: I cannot stand Declan Reede. Never before have I read about a young man acting so much like a spoilt child. Seriously, if he was real, I'd punch him in the face, kick him in the balls and then run over him with his own car. He is completely unable to accept responsibility for his own actions and seems insincere in almost all his apologies. He is unbelievably rude to the people that want to help him and speaks to them like they're not worthy of his time. He's highly arrogant and expects everyone to bow down to him just because of who he is. He is very quick to anger and doesn't seem to act rationally at all. Clearly he has some serious mental issues that need to be dealt with pronto. And don't even get me started on how oversexed and foul-mouthed he is. Aargh!!!

I liked Alyssa and felt terrible about what she's had to go through, but I didn't like that she apologised to Declan for things that weren't her fault. She tried harder than anyone else in her position would have to get in touch with him. She shouldn't have apologised for his lack of knowledge; she should have set him straight and put the blame right back at his feet where it belongs. Clearly Declan is her kryptonite as he weakens her resolve to forget him and move on.

So given how much I hated Declan and what I've said above, you probably think I hated the story as well, but I didn't. I gave this story 5 Hearts because I couldn't put it down, because I gave up sleep just so I could finish it, because it brought out a wide range of emotions in me and because it left me wanting more. And damn it, despite hating Declan, I can't stop thinking about him. It's like he's burrowed under my skin. I'm hoping and praying that Michelle has written him so badly here so that he'll redeem himself later. Please, please, please make him a better person. I want to see redemption. I want to see some major grovelling. I want to see Alyssa bring Declan to his knees. I didn't know what I expected when I started reading DECLINE, but it blew me away. DECEIVE (book # 2) can't come out fast enough in my opinion.

WOW.

Words cannot express how giddy, sad, and excited this book makes me…strap in and get ready, because this series will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions!

Oh, man. THIS BOOK!! I can tell you right now that it’s awesome and you should read it, but I should probably tell you a little more about it, hey?

Four years after choosing his career over his girlfriend, after becoming a driver for Sinclair Racing, Declan Reede is slipping into his decline. A new girl every night? Binge drinking when nothing goes right? Why not?! But when he gets a chance to right his wrongs, he gives it all he’s got. There are surprises along the way, and even though he’s a total jerk, there are scenes where he’s less of a jerk and makes my heart go all gooey…

Declan’s use of the f-word is atrocious, but it fits his character perfectly; not just added for effect.

The author’s writing is like a breath of fresh air, and the characters are far from flat and boring. Declan and Alyssa seem so real to me, that I spent days thinking about them, after finishing Decline.

So, yeah, go read it!!

I had read the prequel to this book and I wasn't happy with the ending so I was eager to get into this book to see if the cliffhanger the prequel gave us worked itself out. Declan may be hot and gorgeous but I was team Alyssa, I felt for her I wanted to kick Declan in the nuts for her, but she had some lady balls of her own and I was chanting 'you go girl, you tell him where to shove it', “don’t act like you care, when you’ve made it clear you don’t.” She stood and moved away from me. We're left with another cliffhanger, I was expecting it, but I was hoping I was wrong, now I need to eagerly wait for the next book.

You can read this book as a standalone as I did not read the first one but understood the story.

This book takes you on an emotional roller-coaster from a high to a low in a few pages.

Declan is at the height of his career but is making mistakes that threaten that career. When Alyssa comes back into his life he needs to makes decisions that will alter his life and career.

He also finds out somd devastating news tgat he needs to come to terms with before he can move on.

*** Gifted in exchange for an honest review ***

I have read Ms Irwin's Paranormal series and enjoy both series, and I think she is onto a hit with this foray into Contemporary romance.

Well I read this book in a day, and it was nice to get engaged in a book where I didn't want to put it down.

There is a Prequel to this book, which I read in between this book, in my opinion I do not think it would make any difference if you read this book first then the prequel or visa versa or as I did half way though.

Declan Fing Reede is a man whore to the Nth degree, its been 4 years since he left his home town near Brisbane without a backwards glance, leaving his childhood sweetheart and family behind.

He's at the top of his game, with the championship within his reach he is at a race when he spots Alyssa the girl he desperately wants to forget but it seems she is buried deep within his heart, and not even race bunnies nor alcohol nor drugs can keep her from his dreams, although now they seem like nightmares as they start to invade his thoughts on the track, and in his last 6 starts hes crashed each time.

After the last wreck and his team mate giving him 2 cracked ribs the Team boss gives him an ultimatum - get on the plane to London and sort yourself out... BUT it seems Fate seems to have other ideas!

Declan can't believe who is his Flight neighbour - Yep you guessed it Alyssa!!

Buckle up for a Bumpy ride as Declan realises that running from the past is over and its time to man up and face whats really ruining his concentration.

Australia has a thing for V8 cars, and Bathurst is a BIG thing, so even though thankfully my OH is not a Sports mad man - living in Australia and New Zealand for the past 10 years I was well aware of how Aussie and Kiwi men see it as almost a religious event.

Also living in Queensland and visiting both Brisbane and the Gold Coast, meant I could really visualise this book and I really got into the storyline.

You will have to wait until the next book to see if Declan can get his life on track, I did want to slap him sideways to Sunday on more than one occasion, and his self destructive patterns cause a rather predictable conclusion to his actions.

There is a point in this book when I really did feel Declan's pain, I had started reading I didn't quite understand it, but when I turned the page and reality dawned, gosh my heart hurt for him. Ms Irwin did a fabulous job at writing that passage.

I really do feel Alyssa's reluctance in wanting to trust Declan, and unfortunately I will have to wait till December to find out if he actually will get his chance at trying to make up to her. Alyssa is a strong woman to have dealt with the past 4 years, it would have crippled me, if I had to deal with her past, but I am a hopeless romantic and I have my fingers crossed that Ms Iwin will be kind to these two characters.

"It was only when I put the car in drive that I stopped. I froze because I didn't want to run. Not this time. I wanted her. More than that, I wanted to deserve her." ~ Declan

I am going to start off with saying that by no way will reading the first book, Decide, will it prepare you for all that will happen in this story. Michelle Irwin kept my emotions tied in knots as if I was strapped into that PRO V8 and speeding around the track myself.

We meet up with Delcan in this story as he has just seen Alyssa from a distance at the race track. He finds himself unprepared for the emotions that overtake his thoughts and add to that the fact that she was with another guy just seems to add fuel to an already burning fire. He has done everything he can to exile her from his thoughts and memories, but it just doesn't seem to work. He has left behind everything that connected him to her just to try and forget what his heart refuses to.

Alyssa has been faced with a much different life that she has ever expected and even though she still cares for Declan she knows that she needs to let him go. But the pull and hold that he has on her refuses to allow her to even think that that is a real possibility. She has continued on with her life, even though she has faced my battles, but still managed to hold her head up his and overcome each one with more determination and overall strength.

Again, I will say that I was so not prepared for all that takes place in this story. There were points that I could say that I would have loved to have run over Delcan with his very own car, and then there were times that I wish I would have had a box of kleenex sitting beside me. The way that this story unfolds is spectacular. I could never in my wildest dreams imagined the outcome. Now with that being said, I will place a warning on here, because it does in fact leave us with a cliffhanger that is not to be out until the end of the year. So be prepared for that, but even with that, this book is still amazing and a must read for everyone. Again, you will never image all that takes place, but it will be well worth the anger, laughter, tears and suspense that you will endure. Michelle Irwin, please and I say this begging, please get the next book ready and yes I will have my kleenex on hand.

My Review
I'd just like to give the gorgeous Michelle a round of applause here! She's managed to create a character that you spend half of your time wanting to smack...and the other half? you just want to take him into your arms and tell him that it's all going to be okay.
Declan Reede is as screwed up and as emotionally stunted as...well as most men i suppose! He uses alcohol, drugs and sex as a way to escape and numb the hurt from losing the only woman who has ever held his heart! From the outside looking in...you'd think that he had it all! a successful V8 driver with beautiful woman dropping at his feet 24/7...what more could a guy want right? he's living the dreammmm! and that's what he's been telling himself since he drove away from his home town at the end of 'Decide'
After a series of ''incidents'' on the track his team manager has told him that he needs to sort his life out before he loses everything, so he heads to London, who should he meet on the flight? None other than the woman that haunts his dreams. Alyssa. Will they both finally be able to set the ghosts to rest? Or will this chance meeting be fates way of opening Pandora's box...well now that would be telling!
It's no secret that i'm a massive fan of Michelle Irwin, the way that she paints a character and infuses them with life and personality, is truly breathtaking. However...i did wonder if she'd be able to realistically capture a believable rendition of a potty mouthed, sex obsessed V8 driver... my worries were groundless! Declan is complex...very complex...his personality has more layers than an Italian Lasagne. He's hard to love, hilarious, stubborn, selfish and a giant pain in the arse...but i defy you not to see his softer side by the end? he's alone and he's hurt and he's a scared little boy.
Absolutely perfect and i can't wait for the next instalment in December!
This book will make you laugh, make you cry and more than anything else...it'll make you beg the author for an earlier release date ;)
5 stars!

I am giving this review on behalf of Kats Book Promotions/ Katsindiebookblog. This book was speechless, and all in a good way. Mixing hotness, sexiness, and fast cars.. Can you ask for more? I think not. This is a start of what’s looks like to me will be a great series. There is a novella before this one, which is not a must in reading before this book, but would give you a better understanding in this book. So get that first! Anyways.. This book starts out 4 years after Declan signing a contract to go Pro in V8 racing. In those 4 years there seems to be many ups and downs, but lately more downs. What and who can be the cause of that? With all the downs, there is a huge threat of him losing his contract. That would kill him since this is all he’s ever wanted in life. Or is it? Here steps in Alyssa, his high school sweetheart, you know, the ones you lose all your “firsts” to? Yep, she’s the one! While Declan is pushed into a forced vacation, he suddenly appears beside “her”. Alyssa has her own secrets that she keeps trying to tell him but seems to always get interrupted each time the opportunity arises. What could those secrets be? And once he does find out, can he handle them or will he up and leave again like he did 4 years ago?
This book will keep you on your toes and not wanting to put it down. I know I tried my hardest NOT to put it down but real life took over for a little bit. Try and set some time away from reality so you can keep reading. I will leave you with one warning though.. This book does have one killer of a cliff hanger; you will be left wanting to read the next one right away! Oh I can’t wait for it!

I was given an ARC of this story for an honest review.
Declan has made it. He was the youngest champion of the ProV8 Tour, but now his life is falling apart. He can’t sleep, he can’t focus, he has DNF’d (Did Not Finish) multiple times in a row and he is pissed. There is a reason for it though. He caught sight of the girl he loved a long time ago in the stands at a race with another man. But you see, Declan is no longer that same 17 year old boy and Alyssa is not that same 17 year old girl. Four years had passed since that horrible night of their last formal. The night Declan threw everything away. He has spent that time trying to rid himself of her by sleeping with so many women that he couldn’t come up with a number if he tried. He is wild an out of control. For a while, it was drugs, but he kicked that, now it’s drinking and partying. Clubbing and women.
Until the Bathurst 1000. The endurance race he is running when his world comes apart. His team is all set to win when once again, while behind the wheel his mind wanders to Alyssa. Yup, you guessed it. DNF #6.
This is the story of how Declan is going to get his life back. Will he confront the demons of that poisoned relationship. Will he be able to move on and get his mind right? How is he going to confront his past and will he come out unscathed?

Warning, there is a huge cliffhanger. I definitely did not see it coming!

Good writing, solid characters. Would definitely like to read more of this series.

5 Star Review
I was given this book for a honest review
What can I say Decline is brilliant. This book picks up four years after Declan Reede moved to Sydney to follow his Pro V8 racing career. He left Alyssa Dawson and his family behind after all his career must come first. His dreams have come true he is the youngest Pro V8 champion so why can:t he concentrate and finish a race without crashing out........
Sinclair Racing owner Danny sends Declan to London to get his head together after he crashed out of his last race for no reason.
What happens when Declan finds the girl sitting next to him on the plane is Alyssa Dawson.
Declan and Alyssa spend time together and even though they have said lets have fun with no strings they find they still have feelings for each other but Alyssa has a secret and she can't let Declan find out what it is, so she runs......
This secret will change Declan's life and did I forget there is a huge cliffhanger.......
This story is told in Declan's POV and I loved it. Michelle Irwin has done a brilliant job getting inside Declan's head and describing the life of a racing driver. This book has love and heartbreak and I could not put it down.
I really need the next book in this series

This book picks up right where Decide left off. While it is not necessary to read Decide, it does help tremendously to understand all of the extensive history between the two main characters, Alyssa & Declan.
In Decline we find Declan-spiraling out of control-both in his personal and professional life. The reason--he saw Alyssa-at one of his races-after 4 years of no contact on his part... He is haunted by her-memories force their way through everything and he is forced to take a vacation to figure himself out. Only-unbeknownst to either of them they find themselves on the same international flight-in side-by-side seats no less... Fate is a knowing, but cruel mistress. They find themselves in the same pattern of insecurities and resentment/fear that drove them apart so long ago until Declan stumbles upon a truth that had been kept from him... However, can he overcome his pattern of self hate & immature lashing out in anger and be the man Alyssa needs? Is it too late for them both??
Big cliffhanger at the end, leaves the reader in a state of shock-I. Need. The. Next. Book!!!

**Due to strong language and sexual content not intended for anyone under age of 18**

Michelle Irwin knows how to get into the head of young man that is going off the rails as a war rages between his heart and his head. This all starts when he sees her again in his home town. This is a true blue Aussie story.

This is one explosive book, this is the second book in the Declan Reede series, it tells the ups and downs of Declan's move to Sydney to race V8 cars and show's his past very much staying with him and coming back to haunt him from the decisions he made in Decide.
Declan is living on the edge and a total ass but i cant help but love the bad boy he has become with his drinking ways his dirty mouth and his giving into his wild side.
I read this book in two sittings only because of the time otherwise it was very hard for me to put it down, excellent ending leaving me wanting more.
Best book ive read this year so far, it blew me away!

This was an emotional roller-coaster. Declan is a mess, he stays drunken, has a foul mouth, he's just confused, but with what he feels for Alyssa can he change his ways. These two are trying to reconnect and it's not easy for them, they need, trust, friendship, Declan needs to grow up, but many pros to Alyssa for staying strong and not taking crap from him. Looking forward to see what happens next.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book as I wasn't majorly drawn to Declan or Alyssa during 'Decide'.

Decline picks up four years after Decide finishes. For Declan Reede life should be bliss... all of his dreams have come true and he's made it as a Pro V8 racer, even managing to win the title of youngest Pro V8 Champion but instead finds his hopes and dreams slipping out of his fingers. Suffering from anxiety and insomnia, Declan has 'crashed out' of all of his last 5 races resulting in DNF's (did not finish).

The story starts with Declan in the seat of a V8 car about to begin a race and from the off the reader is pulled into the nightmares Declan is experiencing... his confidence in finishing the race is pretty much none existent let alone winning it:

' Realistically, I should have been buzzing with confidence, like I had been the last time I'd lined up for this race, but I wasn't. Instead, a constant loop of all the reasons I was going to fail ran through my mind, diminishing my purpose and causing my hands to shake.'

After crashing out yet again, Declan is ordered by his boss to take a vacation and sort his head out. This leads to a chance meeting on a plane with the one person he has been avoiding for the last four years, the reason his head is so messed up, the girl he couldn't keep but also has never been able to fully let go of; Alyssa Dawson.

Spending time with Alyssa, proves to Declan that he's still in love with her and that he never should have let her go but Alyssa has been keeping some earth shattering secrets and when Declan finds out, it turns his entire world upside down.

The book is told from Declan's POV throughout which I really enjoyed (I love getting inside a male characters head). From the very first chapter I was enthralled, I felt like I was sitting inside that race car next to Declan, I could almost feel the vibrations of the car and hear the roar of the engine. I even felt the nervous anxiety Declan felt.

Even though, at times I wanted to punch Declan, This connection continued all the way through the book. I loved Declan and I hated him, I wanted to shake him but also wanted to hug him.

A superbly written book, I really enjoyed it and cant wait for the next instalment.

5 Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review!

Declan Reede had the perfect career and his choice of women; he was living the dream. Until one chance encounter put his racing career in jeopardy. Can Declan sort his head out or will revelations send him over the edge?

This is one hell of an emotional, plot twisting and captivated world wind adventure Michelle Irwin takes you on; Declan Reede may think he is free from his past; he may believe he has stopped loving the only girl who made his heart race without missing a beat; and boy is he wrong! From start to finish Michelle will have you captivated with every page turn; the need to know what is happening next much greater than doing any household chore. I wanted a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign in neon lights above my head; that’s how enthralled I was by this story.

I honest felt I couldn’t feel for Declan any more than I did in Decide; with this story it truly ripped my heart out; stamped on it and sent it flying right back in my face. I could have happily slapped him for his senseless and crazy actions; however at the same time he was hurting; the past between he and Alyssa wasn’t straight cut. They had both made stupid decisions and both were stubborn and easy to overreact; not forgetting the miss guidance Declan received from someone he looked up to. Neither was innocent and neither can go back. As this story developed, my heart began to blossom with the possibility of two souls destined to be together finally connecting for LIFE! Then another spanner would be thrown in the works and they found themselves torn. Without a doubt Michelle will keep you on your toes and begging for more; I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

If you love contemporary romances with suspense that keep you on your toes; without a doubt you will love the Declan Reede series by Michelle Irwin.

To fully enjoy Decline I recommend reading Decide book #0.5 in the series first.

After reading (& loving Decide) I went into this book on edge, intrigued, & in anticipation... why you ask?? I was wondering what would happen between Decide & Decline, especially with the cliffhanger Michelle left us in. 'Decline' is book 1 in "Declan Reede: The Untold Story" but I highly advise you read 'Decide' first, it's based 4 years prior & gives you a more indepth background story into the lives of Declan & Alyssa.

Declan is on his second year on the V8 curcuit, his dreams are fulfilled, but a chance sighting of Alyssa, the girl in his past, setting emotions off within Declan starting his decline in his job. Another on-track accident, gets Declan sent to London & who do you think is allocated the seat next to him???

There was so many twists & turns within this story, Declan was living life in the fast lane, but things or events seem to catch up to you when you least expect, Declan's life is no different. I found Declan to be slightly all over the place, emotionally he didn't seem to be able to handle things or emotions well, his favourite word was f#$*, but I can understand his use of the word all throughout the book. There were situations within that required the word, believe me.

I started reading 'Decline' late last night, I was 77% in, it was 5am, I had tears running down my face & called it quites for the night. Those scenes, the RAW emotions just set me off, read it & you'll understand. I picked it up today & finished the first (well second) part of Declan's story, with a few more tears & a MAJOR cliffhanger at the end. I kept trying to turn the page to see if there was more..... I loved every second of this book & can't wait for the next book in "Declan Reede: The Untold Story"!!

**Received for honest review**

Everything you have worked your whole life for is hanging in the balance.

Everything you dreamed of.

Everything you wanted.

Declan's world came crushing back harder then ever after seeing her with another man.

His head was out of the game.

The one split second when she filled his mind, that one second you lapse that concentration could kill you, could cost you your career that you worked hard for.

He needed to fix it.

He was lost.

He didnt know how.

After several crashes in his V8 races the owner of his race team sent him away to get himself sorted, little did Declan know fate had other ideas.

Boarding a plane for London never did he expect to be sitting next to the women who haunts him every night in his dreams. The one that makes him loose his mind.

Alyssa was heading to London to check out a new office for a job she had been offered, little did she know that she would be next to the person who she loved and hated at the same time.

After a hot a steamy sex session and getting along well never in Declan's wildest dreams could he have predicted the secret that Alyssa was hiding.

His world was flipped upside down.

Once the secret that Alyssa was hiding was revealed, Declan lost it.

Could he be that person for Alyssa?

We loved this story, we could feel the emotion and we were taken on the roller coaster of Declan and Alyssa once again. We had to keep reading all the way to the end until we were finished. We loved the way fate bought them back together after 4 years but also tore them apart.

We cant wait to get started on the next book we just hope there is a happy ever after!!
