Oblivion is a sweet, sweet place.

No pain. No disturbing thoughts of the past. No guilt from my recent actions.

Deep down, there is still a part of me that knows how screwed up I am. I don’t see a way out, not now. Tria’s gone, and the possibility of her forgiving me in my current state is exactly zero. I know I have to pull myself together, accept my responsibilities, and try to make amends, but I have no idea where to start.

No job. No apartment. I’m living on the streets with the other junkies. As little as I had to offer Tria before, I have nothing to give her now. The only way out is to come clean and tell Tria the truth about my past, but the idea of reliving the memoires is so painful, I can’t think about it long enough to figure out a solution.

I’ve hit rock bottom, and I don’t even know which way is up any more.

RELEASED is the THIRD and FINAL book in the CAGED series and continues directly on from the events of TRAPPED where the male protagonist is in a dire situation, one that the author shows with what felt to me like bleak authenticity. It’s about fear, acceptance, facing ones demons, choosing life and not allowing your past to define your future. In many ways this is a gritty coming of age story.

Michael long ago left the safety of his family; they encompass his biggest demons of all. Drugs became his tonic of choice, a hell he fell back to but needs to conquer. He needs to stop repeating the mistakes of his past. He's hit rock bottom and now has a choice, continue to spiral down or choose to live. Michael has to learn to own his future and has much to prove but does he have the strength to achieve it?

I really loved the beginning of RELEASED, the way it opens up the story arc and begins to evolve with angst, making me feel so much for Michael’s present situation and his future. What would become of him? Michael’s back story will no doubt be deduced from the first two books but the extent of the tragic details fully emerge in this part of the series in all their touching devastation. My heart beat fast and I had no clue how far the author would drive her characters into the darkness which made this final book a gripping and compulsive read during the first half.

The direction of the story arc was one I very much enjoyed and certainly kept the male protagonist in my affections but I wish this final part in its entirety had been more succinct as for my tastes the story is a little too fleshed out in certain areas.

The heroine went up in my estimations during RELEASED. I feel like she found her gumption. In the first two books she's somewhat annoying but in retrospect the author was perhaps richly building her character layers to showcase the fact that her behaviour and actions in this part are fully borne out events and feelings from her past life situations.

Liam-TAKEDOWN-Teague continues to be the main attraction for me. Shay Savage’s portrayal of him, his prose, dialogue and actions are the shining light of the story. I felt his angst, the increased levels definitely being a plus element for me. Despite being a touch drawn out for my tastes this three part story about Michael and Tria left me with the feel good factor and is a story many readers will want to experience.

“I didn’t need to fight.
I didn’t need to be rich, and I didn’t have to be poor.
I only had to be me without the shackles and the bars I had created for myself with memories of the past. I didn’t have to hide behind the bars of a cage any longer.”

“Released” is the third and final installment in the "Caged" Trilogy and like the previous installment picks right where the second one ends. In this installment, Liam the male main character has to face his demons, he has to learn from his past and try to do what’s right for the others around him.

In this third installment we find out more about Liam’s fears and also about his past and what really happened back then. Needless to say this installment was the most angsty installment in the series and I have to say it captured my attention from start to finish. The main characters’ growth is very well done here. They grew individually and they also grew as a couple. Both of them had to learn how to be what the other needs. They had to learn how to be honest, how to communicate with each other, how to totally accept the other’s past and flaws.

I really felt for Liam in this installment. His past was very sad to say the least and emotional. If in the others installments in the series he learnt how to be in a relationship, in this installment he learnt how to grow up, how to become a better human being, how to become the man Tria needs in her life. I loved Tria here. She was so great with Liam. She was compassionate, supportive and caring when Liam needs someone on his side. I really felt she was the perfect match for him.

I have to say I really liked the supportive characters in this installment – Liam’s uncle and aunt and even his parents were so great. They were supportive and accepting not only with Liam, but with Tria as well.

Like the other books in the series, this one is told only from Liam’s POV and I have to say his POV was enough for me.

Overall, a great final installment!

“Every time I look at you,” I said, “I see not just the beautiful woman who showed up in my life and gave me a reason to live it but the manifestation of everything we are together.”

Title: Released
Series:CAGED Takedown Teague #3
Author: Shay Savage
Release Date: 25 August, 2015
Rating: 4 stars
Cliffhanger:. No
HEA:

"You can't drag someone back from the darkness until they're ready to go with you"

Released is the last installment in The Caged Trilogy and it was really angsty finale to the emotion packed story that Shay Savage delivered to her readers this summer.

I won't be lying when I tell you that I was panting after the last part of Liam and Tria's story; I desperately NEEDED answers... I wanted to know what really happened in Liam's past because the bits and pieces I've been given in the previous installments were not enough to quench my curousity, on the contrary they only made my head spin more.

Released fortunately unraveled all of the secrets and... my heart crumbled. It was very sad and beautiful at the same time. I can't say I expected everything that happened. I was not prepared for all of the heartbreak, yet when I reached the ending I felt much better, because I realized that Liam and Tria's adventure was a tale of forgiveness, redemption and strong love. For Liam it was like being reborn from the ashes...

Overall, Caged Trilogy was a great emotional journey full of pain, heartbreak and sweet, sweet LOL moments... I enjoyed it very much!

This third and final installment in the Caged series was cathartic and healing for Liam, Tria and his family.

"I hid inside of a cage for a good chunk of my life to avoid the reality of what was outside of it. The type of hurt and pain inside the cage was one I knew how to handle, but the emotions I experienced outside the cage were too much."

The direction of the story and actions that took placed were needed for Liam to finally find peace. While it was gratifying given the torment and pain he was in, I thought it could have been shortened a bit.

 photo released_zpsxr7sx7wp.jpg

Also, it lost a bit of the edge that Shay is so good at but again, I kind of understand why she softened the edges as we followed Liam on his healing journey. Going into this book, there were still a lot of questions about Liam's past, the role his parents played and this final book gave us all the answers.

Overall, this was a good and satisfying end to a really emotional and loving story.

The final book in the trilogy brings us closure on all the secrets of the previous two books. Liam has hit rock bottom and there are only two ways he can go, up or down.

Tria really pulled through for him and I was glad that they were able to overcome everything that was thrown at them, because they both deserved their HEA.

My Previous Reviews
Caged | Trapped

Overall, although I thoroughly enjoyed being in Liam's head, I definitely think this could have been condensed into 2 parts and that is the only reason I have rated this instalment lower than books 1 &2.

This is the final book in the trilogy, told solely from the male POV.

Ah ha!!! The conclusion, and what an ending it was. I devoured this final instalment in one sitting. Beautiful and brilliant by Shay Savage. Her writing style and skill was superb. Perfection, when it came to telling Tria and Liam's tale.

Liam, Liam, Liam, you captured me from book 1 and, I journey with you until the end. You amazed, excited, infuriated and annoyed the crap out of me. Yet, my heart was yours from the start. This was your book. I felt and saw everything through Liam's eyes. His emotions, fears, anger and happiness. I was sad to see this series end, but, oh so happy for the Happily Ever After. Well deserved.

Caged: Released is exactly what the name suggests. A release of inhibitions, fears and pride. A release of family struggle and strife, over ten years. Liam's past comes to the forefront, when his fears becomes his reality. He pushes Tria away, until, he has no choice but to fight to get her back. Fighting will taking everything he has, and he will have to face his past and his family, in order to survive the present, and live for their future.

In Released, Liam and Tria grow so much. They struggle with their own fears and emotions, and as a couple. We see these two grow exponentially, and their acceptance of both their pasts and their present. I loved how they supported each other. They learned how to learn on the family, and accept help. Their strength shone through and through.

This series for me, can be described as orgasmic. Slow building, beautiful bliss, to excruciating euphoria. Their happiness was painfully beautiful. It took ten years for Liam and even shorter for Tria, but wonderful things are birthed through pain.

What a beautiful conclusion to Liam and Tria's story!

Tria was not around and Liam dealt with his pain and loss the easiest way he knew how. But all is not lost. There's hope, all because of Tria. Liam needed to do what he needed to do to do right by Tria.

Throughout the story, I just wanted to wrap Liam up in a constant hug. There is such defenselessness to Liam's thoughts and actions that I felt like my heart was getting squished the whole time. The self-deprecation and his sense of humor are still there but in this book, I also saw the fears and worries magnified. And to go thru the struggles to be a better man for Tria, how can anyone not fall for this broken boy, I ask ya!!

Tria remains consistent and did not falter with her values and beliefs especially when it came to Liam. Thinking back to her age, I'm pretty sure I only had half her sensibilities. It shows why Liam did what he did for her. She deserved every single bit of it.

I'm letting you know that it felt there wasn't extreme high or low with this part of the series but you know what, it's all good. I thought it is anyways. The emotional ride it put me through was sufficient to keep me engaged the whole time. Was it what I was expecting? Not sure actually. From the 1st book in the series, I wasn't sure where Shay will take me with Liam and Tria's story but it didn't matter. I trust her writing. I trust that I will get something different; so I have no problem going in and just let her hold my hands, so to speak, blindfolded and all.

So for me, I just enjoyed Liam and Tria's ride, all seen from Liam's POV, and felt the emotions that that these kids went thru... sigh...

An end to an incredible journey!

Liam himself stated, many times, that he was far from perfect. I have to agree. However, he has grown and improved tremendously throughout the series. Shay Savage introduced us to an angry, damaged, and tortured "boy" and made him into a man!

I enjoyed every facet of Liam's character. Living in his mind, like I've said before, was a trip. The scenes where he was fighting himself and the pull of destruction were absolutely poignant and overwhelming. There were quite a few times that he pissed me off through this trilogy, but his redeeming qualities far outweighed these negatives. He was loyal, fierce, protective, determined, intelligent, etc.

Getting to the crux of his trauma was heart breaking. Understanding even why he became a vegetarian devastated me. I can't even imagine the horror of what he faced. Watching Liam "man up" was inspiring.

I loved the many names he had for Tria's bag. I personally loved how he always wanted to punch someone in the face (I can totally relate). I loved how he was with Tria; how he loved her. I loved his scenes with his family.

But best of all... I especially loved who he was with and for Katie.

Full series review

This the the final installment for Caged series. For those who have been following this series you must be anxious to see how will Liam sort out his emotional mess and win back his girl.

When we first met Liam back in Takedown Teague, he was a penniless ex-junkie who fights in a bar. He is living hand to mouth without any future plan. Fighting, smoking, talking to his neighbor, Krazy Katie... that's he all did. Now that Liam had more to consider including keeping Tria in his life, he had to make some drastic changes.

When I started on this series, I'm anticipating some dark caged fighter story, but instead I got a humorous laugh out loud story of a penniless caged fighter who is so smitten with a girl that he is willing to do anything to keep her, including being her platonic roommate.

Liam 'Takedown' Teague is a guy who left his wealthy family and his future behind to live on the street. Tria is new in town, studying for her degree and working night shift to pay the bills. One night when she was attacked on her walk back home, she met Liam, who not only save her but later become her closest friend and eventually the man she loves.

My favorite part of this series is when Liam built her a bookcase from junk and their journey to Tria's hometown, which lead to some bizarre incident in itself.

Liam and Tria faced their ups and downs in navigation their relationship and their day to day life. When Liam had to face his buried past, he hurts not only Tria and but the people who care for him as well. Will Liam able to dig himself out from his hellhole and face the future?

As per Shay Savage's style, the whole series was told from the male POV. Getting into Liam's mind is a wonderful experience in itself. His POV is simply delightful and addictive to read. There's just something so endearing about Liam's POV that is so true and honest that make me want to go all mama bear on him. I'm glad he had a team of supporters behind him such as Dr. Baynor and Michael who are there to offer him a helping hand when he was lost.

As for Tria, there are times that I questioned her feelings and dedication towards Liam. We never get any of her POV, so we can only judge her based on what Liam saw and hear. But fear not, Tria did showed her compassion and love for Liam, standing by his side and supporting him through his recovery.

Overall, I simply adore this series, there is something endearing about Liam and his moody bastard of a dick and his phobia towards Tria's enormous bag. This series is very different from what I usually read. Is definitely a series that make you slow down and savor the little moments. I find myself enjoying Liam's journey with Tria and his neighbor, Krazy Katie. I love seeing such huge character development in him, from a penniless ex-junkie to a responsible family man. He deserve so much more and I'm happy to see him have it all.

This is the final book in the series and I've got to say it was my favorite! There was drama, angst, revelations and deep emotion.

Liam's emotional journey comes to a crescendo with this book. He wants Tria back and he has to fight his demons in order to do get her back. Tria will have to put the life of their unborn baby first in this book and she will make Liam fight really hard to win her over. He will have to discover more about himself; he will have to leave his tortured past behind and make true efforts for his future.

I simply loved the way the author brough us to the conclusion of this tale. It was heart-wrenching and really heart-breaking to witness Liam's downfall and his efforts to bring himself back up again.

If you loved the previous books in the series, then you will love this fantastic finale!

Do not miss this!

Tria & Liam’s journey comes to a conclusion in the final installment of the Caged trilogy. Up until now, we’ve gotten bits and pieces of Liam’s past but never the full story. And with the cliffhanger ending that Shay left us with in book two, getting all the gritty details was a must.

Screenshot_3

Note to those reading the review that have not read the prior two books – minor spoilers might be in this. It can’t be helped since the majority of this book focused on a particular aspect that came at the end of book two.

Screenshot_2
A hit.
A single high.

A way to forget the fear, the pain, his past. His future. Their present.

Screenshot_4

As Liam’s worst fears are relived, he runs. But when he returns he finds everything that mattered gone. Four years sober and all of it is shot to hell as his painful past is staring him right in the face. But in order to get Tria back, Liam must face it. Must relive it and must let it go and forgive himself and those around.

I think as I read this I took educated guesses at what Liam’s story was going to be. I was blindsided a bit by Tria’s story but for Liam – I really wanted to try to figure him out along the way. What I learned was that there was just no way to do that. I might have come close to some key aspects, but I was miles away from his truth.

Screenshot_6

Liam’s pasts tore my heart apart. There wasn’t just a series of unfortunate events, there was agonizing destruction. The kind of pain that steals your breath and makes you want to never wake up. The fact that he survived, even if he wasn’t really living, was a testament to his strength.

There is no doubt that when it comes to writing a romance from the male POV, Shay owns this. I love getting the gritty details of a romance without all the hearts and flowers as she delivers harsh blows. Unapologetic male characters that will give their whole heart to the women they love, but don’t become soft just because they find love.

Screenshot_1

Released was an emotional journey. I expected that Trapped would be the part of the story that held the climatic emotional high, but I was wrong. It was still just part of the buildup, leading us to the final chapter of their story. Every moment led us to this place. And Liam’s story was utterly heartbreaking. Watching him face his past, the moments where he lets Tria in, giving her the missing pieces that explain his fear, broke my heart. Shattered it.

Screenshot_5

Shay delivered a heartbreaking story that although broke you along the way, glued all your pieces back together again in the end.

4.5 REDEEMFUL stars

I will say a few words...after I pull out the paper and grab a pen...I need to put this down in a standard way first...

Well, I am definitely surprised by this CAGED trilogy.
Yes, I guess i went into it, knowing it's Shay Savage and the books were about a fighter, one of my fave types of men to read about…

Yes, I expected fights, angst, sex, dominance and I received NOT only that BUT more of drama, emotional rollercoaster of much deeper proportions then i ever thought to be possible

So, to sum it up
In book 1 - TAKEDOWN TEAGUE (Caged #1)
we meet Liam Teague

a 26 year old cage fighter that thrives his excellence and expertise in beating his oponents two times a week in a cage bar. He lives near by, he's cocky, relentless, fast, forceful BUT still somewhat a „nice“ guy… and we know he is astranged from his family and we know it runs painfuly deep…

His moto being:
“You can't be upset about shit you don't think about.“

His life is about to change by meeting/saving a young girl's life from being cornered by local thugs with the intention of raping her or „having a little bit fun“ for that matter. But she takes over with her innocence and inner strnegth and Liam finds himself helping her, befriending her, interwoven with her, fascinated and taken by her…

Tria Lynn

was not what Liam expected to ever hold his strings for a longer time BUT life had a different story to tell…
and her story was deep rooted and connected to the small closed community with somewhat strange traditions for the outsider lookin in…and her past is closing in on her too...

Book 2 – TRAPPED (Caged #2) deals with more relationship and reconnection between Tria and Liam. They are growing together as a couple, knowing each other…well, at least trying to know each other! Tria is giving in and opening up BUT Liam is still reserved and gives just little tidbits of his past…

Tria is happy with their arrangement and relationship and she gives Liam the treasured part of her. Their love leaves a huge turmoiling event hanging above their relationship…

Liam's temper and actions revealed a big gap in his conduct that is related to his past…the past that is starting to emerge again, repeating the same patterns, bringing out the horrid emotions that were dormant for almost ten years of Liam's closed and caged human shield…
his actions cause the fracture between the two of them

Further events brings Liam down to the rock bottom of his existence and he is openly challenged with the biggest fight of all reconnecting his past, his present and his future…

The final book – RELEASED (Caged #3) was actually a life long drama. A struggle of a one man entering his sealed up Pandora's box of the most traumatic memories that were awaken again…and brought his carefully staged and caged existence to a questionable path of survival…

Luckily, the outcome is postive and we see Liam take on a journey HE decided to go on, battling his inner fears, dangerous weakness in a form of shooting up with heroine, he fights his inner demons of the past, he's facing his torment memories, his guilt and the trauma that brought and made him this caged persona in the first place. He fights the past itself and he faces his family (the amount of opposites he run from – being rich to being poor by a choice of stubborness and rebelion, pain and grief and not swallowing the pride that burned bridges) and we see the road of redemption, the road of forgiveness and finally hope for everyone…

Liam got a second chance in love, life and family.

I got a huge lump in my throat after I read this trilogy I was taken by the style of Shay's writting, but i was already aware of that…

what I realised was that this story was so much close to the real life of ordinary people (with a different scenery and backgrounds) but dealing with similar subjects, issues and problems, decisions, fights, insecurities, falls and finally raising up from the ashes…

It was a full circle for Liam and Tria…but for Liam especially…and I was so proud of him…he was truly a true FIGHTER.

“I didn't need to fight.
I didn't need to be rich, and I didn't have to be poor.
I only had to be me without the shackles and the bars I had created for myself with memories of the past.
I didn't have to hide behind the bars of a cage any longer.“

This definitely is a PERFECT ending to a series that's had me wrapped around its finger.

Once again, I reiterate that this series is UNIQUE. I never, for the life of me, can figure out where SHAY SAVAGE gets her ideas, but this book definitely came from somewhere that no one has ever been to before. It's awesome!

This book ties up the mysteries of Liam's life before it all started. I must say, even though I already expected a lot of it, I was still surprised by some things that happened here. I love how the book ended and I love everything about their relationship in the end. Yes, I wanted to bash Liam in the head many, many times, but I had to look past that and focus on him getting Tria back.

Tria definitely has more backbone here. She's more loyal and more fierce. I love how she protected Liam in her own way and I love how she was there for him after everything. She's a perfect mixture of strength and grace in times of pressure. She's amazing with Liam. I love how she understood him all the way. I WANT TO BE HER!!!

Both of these characters grew to be more than what I expected them to be. Liam learned the value of forgiveness and moving forward in life. Tria learned that she could trust in a person again and that she's not as unloved as she deemed to be.

I think what I love best about this book is that you'll see how they both appreciate what they have no matter how small it is.

Spoilers ahead so stop reading if you don't want to see this!!

As Liam came from a rich family, left it and then came back, you'd expect that he'll feel entitled to it all. But nope. He just appreciates that he could take more care of his family, but other than that.. nope. Not for personal gain. Tria is the same, so I love them both for it.

The ending part is worth the wait. Everything went as I wanted them to be. I love it! I love it so much!

All in all, this is a perfectly unique trilogy about fighting your battles head on, keeping the faith and pushing forward.

Just perfect!!!

This culmination of the trilogy shows how someone who hits rock bottom, finds the strength to pull themselves together a build a better life. This author takes Liam down a dark path, one he's known before. With EVERYTHING taken from him, you feel the resolve it takes for him to do the right thing.

Liam's path back to the light isn't easy. He fights temptations daily. He struggles through painful memories. Yet, with the promise to do right by Tria and their baby, he battles his demons every step of the way. The biggest being his revelation of what happened to him as a teenager. It was pretty clear what had happened, but now we get every horrific detail and how actions by others, led him down the destructive path.

What I liked most about this book was how Liam made personal sacrifices to create the right life for his love(s). He had opportunities to take his fighting career further, but his sole goal is to be there for his growing family.

The biggest surprise for me in this book was that Liam's parents weren't evil like I pictured them to be. With little revelations, we see how they tried to make up for their mistakes. And we see how deep their love is for Liam. I was shocked by their own personal heartbreak, and actually felt bad for them. Liam doesn't make things easy for them, AT ALL. But they never give up on him. And they never walk away.

On top of that surprise, I was not happy with Yolanda. I never really understood her story, and we get some of it. But I didn't get how she gave up on Liam in every sense of the word. I can't relate to how hard it would be to help an addict, but given some light shed on her, I couldn't comprehend why she couldn't help him anymore. And her actions nearly cause his end, which can't be forgiven. Later, biatch!

With Liam's personal struggle and growth, Tria benefits from his new life focus. She becomes his biggest supporter, encouraging to stay with the therapy he desperately needed, and she helps to bridge the gap between him and his family. The love the build together, supporting one another with each step, was very sweet.

Of the three books, this was definitely the most emotional one, as Liam's vulnerabilities are completely exposed. His emotions were raw, and while he could be an jerk to those around him, most gave him a pass, knowing how hard he was trying. With every page, I felt like Liam's personal cheerleader, wanting him to do right and find happiness. This book ties up loose ends and leaves Liam in a place, that was long overdue. A happy place.

Gritty! Real! Saucey! In your face, no holds barred, pure Savagery!

I knew this book would be great because Shay wrote it, although I have to admit I was expecting the typical alpha-fighter-bad-boy-romance story like the the tons of others I’ve read.

Dead wrong. This is by far a cut above the rest.

I was blown away with how real the characters were written and portrayed. I felt like I was a fly on the wall watching real people face their life issues. I loved how Shay tackled the emotional problems our hero faced. People sometimes forget that men have real emotions and expect them to always be strong, never cry, and to suck it up. The Caged Series was an impressive take on one man’s struggle, a woman’s need to better herself, and a couple’s desire to love one another through all of life’s road blocks.

But geeze that all sounds deep and boring but NO, this book was anything but. It was funny as hell and incredible sexy! It was raunchy, clever, and amazing!
Damn that first kiss had me melting.

Shay is a master storyteller, her writing is simply phenomenal!
The characters are incredibly realistic and thoroughly developed.
The story was unique, interesting, and kept me utterly riveted.
And as you can tell I loved, loved, loved this series!

My favorites:
“Swirling Vortex of Doom”
“Sack of Sauron”
“Balrog’s Backpack”
...and no these aren’t LOR quotes, you just have to read the series to find out.

Yes, this series just gets better and better, and without a doubt, this last book is the best of all!  I've got to admit, many parts of this book had me crying, either silently, or full-out sobs!  What an emotional journey these three books took me on, and I really felt like the combination of all three made it read like one complete book.  Thank you to my book friend, Fabi, for this recommendation!

So, Liam was broken at the end of book two, and he continues to struggle, losing his job, his apartment, and basically hitting an all time low.  He does what he thinks he should to numb the pain, and boy did he jump right back into his bad habit.  My heart was breaking for him!

But, there comes a point when you hit such a low in your life, that you have no choice but to turn to the people who will always be there for you.....your family.  So for Liam to finally admit he was defeated and needed help, and reach out to his Uncle Michael, it made me so proud of him!

This book is about recovery, healing, and the true foundation of family.  And of course, love.  Tria and Liam were so perfect together!

The ending was just beautiful and I felt so complete after finishing.....such a great feeling!

Definite shout out to some secondary characters.  Loved, loved, loved Dr. Baylor.....he was one cool-ass doctor!  Liam's Uncle Michael......such a great guy, and his wife, Chelsea!  Erin, you made a huge difference in both Liam and Tria's life.  And, Krazy Katie.....I have no words....didn't realize what an impact she would have on me and Liam/Tria's lives.

If you can make it past the depressing beginning, this book is wonderful! Shay writes the kind of alphas that are a bit lost in the real world, but once they set their eyes on THEIR woman, nothing will change that obsessive trajectory.
"I think you might have gotten an extra dose of testosterone when God was handing that shit out."
The parts that I really loved might ruin the book, so I'll just say that the characters don't ever give up. Liam and Tria are adorable and so sweet together, I loved this book.
Honestly, the more time I spent in therapy, the more fucked up I felt.
Agreed Liam, and same...but I think that’s also called growth.

3.5 released stars!

This is the final installment of this book and I did enjoyed much the first and the second series.
I was little dissapointed of Teague because of his act toward his parents. We know that Teague’s parents made a mistake but they truly sorry on what they did on the past. Our hero, was very stubborn not accepting their apology. That’s why i did not like much this series. Although for Tria,he always there for her.

But still, it was a good read . It was just not for me on this one.

OMG! This series is just like whoa and I have been hooked from the very beginning. I was so happy when this book ended up on my kindle. Released is the third book in the Caged Series by Shay Savage and yes, you must definitely read the first two books in this series because they are all about the same couple, Tria and Liam!

So, this one picked up right where Trapped leaves off and oh man. It was was one hell of a cliffy. Poor Liam. He literally broke my heart the first quarter of this book. But sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to go up and make you realize what is important and needed if your life. And Liam gets a hell of a dose of this.

'I wanted more smack. I wanted her back more, though.'

I really feel like I cannot say too much about this book because of possible spoilers but I will say that everything and I mean EVERYTHING comes together in this book. You find out so much. And so does Tria. Addicts recover, family's mend, upward strides are made. This was such a beautiful and heartfelt ending to a brutal and emotional trilogy. This series is just phenomenal and Shay might just write the best male POV ever! She is an awesome book boyfriend!

'I was never one to go soft, but surely this little girl could melt any cage I placed around myself.'

I RECEIVED AN ARC FROM THE AUTHOR IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW

I was genuinely scared when Trapped ended. I am not going to lie, I cursed Liam and I called him names. I love the man to the moon and back but come on that was not a solution. There was a point when I thought, maybe Tria is better off. But I am a sucker for happy endings and no one was going to take that away.

This book made me understand Liam better. His fears, his hesitation and all his messed up self. We get to know about his past, the reason why he is the way he is. And all that just made me fall for him deeper and deeper.

I was not the happiest kid when this series ended as I had grown so fond of the characters and the story. But Shay tied up the entire story so beautifully that I was left amazed. I assumed that Liam would give up but the way that man fought back to earn the trust of the person he loves the most made me admire him.

This book was honest, emotional and spectacular. And if you make me pick a favorite out of the three books, I will run in the opposite direction. Also, I might be a little bit in love with Shay Savage. <3

This was more intense more powerful and too strong to invoke all kinds of feelings the characters are feeling! Every line, every chapter I read was an emotional journey for me. I could feel the pain radiating out of the book and I could connect to Liam and his each and every struggle he faced! He improved so much and all because of Tria!I was so scared with every struggle , problems he faced! I prayed that it ended good!! This book was surprising at every stage! You are just involved in it and can't get away from it!

The book started with Liam hitting an all time low. Trying to avoid facing his past led to bad decisions and losing everything that mattered to him. Much as you wanted to understand him, there is also a good chance you will want to slap some sense into him. Yet at the same time, you will remember why you loved Liam in the first place because he didn't wait for anybody to help him. He sought help and admitted that he messed up pretty bad. That took courage and strength, both qualities that he possessed. I was proud of him to use those qualities to pull himself together.

Tria had such a huge heart, inherently good and an amazing human being despite the way she was treated by the people she trusted in the past. Her growth in this book was astounding, a good mix of kindness and fiery attitude when warranted.

As the secrets and painful pasts were revealed, your opinions about some characters will also change. That's why in my opinion, this was the most sentimental book in the series. I felt the pains and sufferings of each character and all the wasted time holding on to those feelings. You would think that if only apologies were given earlier, chances were given to hear each other out before disappointments turned into resentments and hatred, they would have taken a different path in their lives. But then, Liam and Tria turned out the way they were because of their experiences and all the stumbles they suffered made them stronger. They say that you will never learn how to be strong if you haven't experienced how to be weak. This was true in this couple's case. Their pasts and their mistakes contributed in molding them to be better equipped in dealing with life's realities.

I'll admit that lots of tears were shed while I was reading this one. But not all them were sad tears. Most of them were actually good ones. Liam's journey to finding peace and happiness came with his capacity for forgiveness, letting go and acceptance. And doing those was a bittersweet process. He did the most difficult steps he could have taken, and he did them all for Tria. He might not be willing to face his fears and open his door again to the memories and the people that caused him unbearable pains, but he did what was best for Tria. For me, that was a true example of unconditional love.

There were secondary characters who deserved standing ovation for their magnanimous acts and selfless concern. Dr Baynor, who was one cool doctor; Michael and Chelsea, Liam's uncle and aunt. They contributed in making the story such an awesome read.

Now THAT'S how you wrap up a trilogy! I just knew this was going to be a 5 STAR read after the first couple of chapters when the first round of tears came! This book BROKE my heart and MENDED my heart in one fell swoop. The conclusion of Tria & Liam's story is one that will never leave you. I LOVED every second of it.

I have yearned and dreaded the ending of their love story. Up until now, we've learned bits and pieces of Liam's past, but not enough to get the full story. Well, the wait is over my friends, the walls are about to crumble, and your heart will go right along with it.

Four years sober, and for what? NOTHING! When Liam's worst fears are realized, he runs. He runs hard. And just like that, his sobriety goes down the drain and he is at his ultimate low. The ONLY thing that is keeping his heart beating is the thought of Tria and everything that comes with her. His past is tearing him to pieces, and he must learn to face it, overcome it, in order to have a shot in hell at getting Tria back. He must learn to grieve, learn to forgive, and learn to accept that he can't control everything. He needs to surrender to his grief and move on from the past if he wants the life he yearns for with the only woman he has ever loved.

I'm assuming that if you are a female writer, that writing in the male's POV is incredibly difficult. Shay Savage does this like a damn pro! It makes the story more gritty, more raw, more intense, but that is what makes this series so incredibly good. What an intense emotional journey. My emotions were on an all time high throughout the entire series, and RELEASED was the perfect conclusion I was hoping for. Liam is a hero I will never forget. I was emotionally invested in him from the very beginning and he just ran away with my heart. Ms. Savage more than delivered with this series and with this finale. Gripping, enthralling, and oh so intriguing, Liam and Tria's story will forever be in my heart. It is a long journey, a rough ride, but a heartwarming and beautiful ending.

- Loved the beginning : I really enjoyed Caged, but Trapped felt as if things lost a little traction. I’m glad to say that the beginning of this book really captured my interest again and emotionally, I think it’s the strongest of all the books. Seeing Liam hit rock bottom reminded me why I liked him and actually made me a bit misty, seeing him suffer for his actions. He’s still stubborn and imperfect, but this is definitely an interesting story of his journey back from the darkness.

- Enjoyed Liam’s breakthrough : I also appreciated that that journey wasn’t brushed aside with some pills and a token therapy session, but is really cathartic and allowed me to understand his issues and better yet, to see him accept responsibility for his actions. His emotional growth and eventual reconciliation with those who love him was all the better for it.

- Wished trilogy was one book : My only complaint is while there’s alot in this story that’s interesting, there are alot of extraneous details and subplots that weren’t necessary and could have been cut to tighten up the narrative and really focus it on the important parts of Liam and Tria’s journey. Now, I’ve never hidden the fact that serials, cliffhangers and trilogies aren’t my thing, so this may not bother anyone else. For example, there’s a callback to the first book with the person who helps Liam with his therapy that I didn’t think really add much to the story. The entire Beale journey, while different, ultimately was more for shock value. I liked their HEA, but even that meandered a bit to the end. Ultimately, I just think this could have been one really excellent book instead of two good books and one ok one.

That "stare into my soul thing she does"...
This was by far my favorite book in the trilogy. All of those unanswered questions get answered. I was left shocked and devastated at the end of Trapped. As I eagerly started Released, I was anxious, yet afraid to jump in.

I was so disappointed that my man had given in to his fears. He was so broken, so damaged, that he couldn't deal with a repeat of the most tragic event of his past. He gave in to his weakness, chased the numbness, and disappeared...again. He knows that it was a bad decision. He knows it's not the answer to his problems. But all the good in his life, left.

Liam earned my respect and my heart as he tackled his demons. He knew that he had to face his past and deal with it before he could move on to the future he dreamed of. A future that included Tria. But in order for that to happen, he had to tell her, relive the worst experience of his life. Could he do it? He knew he needed help, but was he strong enough to ask for it? Would she even listen? Could she forgive him? Could he forgive himself?

What an emotional journey this story took me on. I bounced from disappointment to sadness to hope to fear to laughter to blushing to sighing. It was the perfect ending to the Caged series.

*I received an ARC from the Author for my honest review* ~Alison

So this is it, the final story in the Caged Trilogy. Before I get into how much I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this series. let me tell you how much I LOVED this book.

At the End of Trapped I was left going "Don't you do it Liam, Don't you Dare!" So, of course I needed Released ASAP. I needed the conclusion, but at the same time I was scared to read it. I knew this would be a tough read because we find out what happened to Liam in the past that made him the way we see him in the story, As well as seeing the dark road Liam takes after losing the thing that means the most to him. In true Liam form he fought to get back what he lost as well as a happy life.

This book did not disappoint just like the other two didn't. Although I am sad for this series to end, I felt it ended beautifully. I wouldn't change a single thing.

Please don't ask me to pick a favorite out of the three books because I truly loved them all. I highly recommend this series.

This book is much more of a cathartic therapy session. Book 1 is the introduction, book 2 is the drama, and book 3 is the recovery. If you have ever known anyone with mental health issues, PTSD, or drug/alcohol problems, this book in particular will be very REAL for you. Its not always pretty, but I think Shay did an amazing job with keeping it real. The only real climax in this book comes from the "can he do it" aspect. While its not as climatic as the other books, its more beautiful in many ways because its the real, day to day stuff. I thought it was beautiful and it had me in tears many times because of how honest and real it was. (Ok, I have said 'real' a lot...sorry!)

Shay Savage always has her characters circle the bowl a few times before they find their HEA. This was certainly a dizzying ride and a long one!. . . even chopped up into three pieces. I think maybe a bit of editing versus splitting up the book may have made for a better story. I liked this NA story though, but perhaps more for Savage's excellent writing skill than feeling connected with the story or characters. A solid 4 star read
