Bizarre rituals on a remote island in Maine.
My crazy neighbor lying naked in the produce section of a grocery store.
The sting of a knife as it slices through my flesh.
Now I know why they say life is never easy.
The soft touch of Tria’s hand against my chest is the only thing that keeps me going, but there are consequences. As a fighter, I should be able to deal with anything life throws at me, but there is one circumstance I simply can’t handle.
I only have one coping mechanism: a tube around my arm and a needle in my vein.

“Trapped” is the second installment in Shay Savage’s new series named “Caged” and also my second novel by this author. This installment picks up right where the first installment ends. While the first installment was more on the lighter side, this installment was a little bit more “darker”, more intense and for me more interesting as well.

I liked these two characters in the previous installment, but in this second installment I can say I really loved them. Mrs. Savage’s characters in this installment are more developed and more complex.
Liam’s character IMO was more developed. Maybe because his past is more…interesting I guess than Tria’s past or maybe simply because like the previous installment, this installment is written only in his POV.

Anyway, I don’t have any complains since this author knows very well I could say how to write a good, captivating male POV. I mentioned above about Liam’s past. We find more about his family, his past and also about his fears. Liam wasn’t portrait only like a bad boy in this installment.

He’s flawed, yes, fact I really enjoy about all the male characters I read about, but he’s also thoughtful, considerate, protective and even sweet with Tria. He starts to feel more about her and as a reader you can really feel how much he cares about her. What pissed me a little about him was the fact he refuses to share more about his past with Tria. I understood the fact he was hurt by his family and that he suffered when he lost…what he lost, I really did and I felt for him, but I wanted his relationship with Tria to be more honest, I guess.

I enjoyed Tria's character in this installment as well. She doesn’t have any life experience or relationship experience, she’s a virgin and of course she was portrait like a naïve, insecure girl. But, there were moments where you can see how determined and strong she can be when she really wants something. I liked her determination and I also liked her stubbornness.

An aspect I really liked in this installment is the funny, cute moments between the two main characters. Liam’s inner dialogue was also hilarious and I have to say I really enjoyed his interactions with Tria and also with the other characters.

Like the previous installment, this second installment ends with a cliffhanger. It goes without saying I can’t wait to find out how everything will work out in the third and final installment.

Overall, a good read!

Title: Trapped
Series: CAGED, Takedown Teague #2
Author: Shay Savage
Release Date: 4 August, 2015
Rating: 3.5 - 4 stars
Cliffhanger: Yes
HEA:

After reaching the end of Caged, the first installment in the newest Shay Savage’s Trilogy I was left a bit shocked and perplexed. Color me surprised but what a weird ending that was! I really enjoyed most of Tria and Liam’s story though, so when I got my hands on the continuation of it, I almost immediately dived into it. And like previously I had much fun with it! I was entertained and involved in the story till the last page.

The sequel turned out to be much grittier and darker (which in my case was a big plus), but still had many of the laugh out loud moments and sexy times I adored earlier.

Tria and Liam finally had the chance to develop as a couple, grow and show their true colors. I liked those parts the best. Especially the ones that finally let me sneak a peek into Liam’s past as some of his secrets are being revealed.

I must admit that there were times I was starting to get frustrated with Liam and his reluctance to share. I was and still am kept on my toes, waiting for everything to unravel and the second shoe to drop… which brings more irritation, as there is another cliffhanger ending that made me want to throw a fit. Fortunately, the last part of Caged Trilogy is publishing soon enough and I am super thrilled to learn the truth about Liam’s past.

”Like everything else about you. It’s how beautiful you are when you’re pissed off at me. It’s how you smile when you’re making me breakfast. It’s your eyes, your voice, the smell of your hair. It’s how your skin feels against mine. Everything about you makes me want you more.”

Trapped is the second book in the Caged series and continues directly where the first book left us. Liam-TAKEDOWN-Teague is the main attraction for me. Shay Savage’s portrayal of him, his prose, dialogue and actions continue to be the shining light in this three part series.

Caged ends with the type of cliff hanger that gives a sense of foreboding pertaining to where the story arc will lead. My expectation was that the community aspect would have been more explored than it was, although in reality the hero’s story is more appealing to me.

Whilst I basked in the slow development of their relationship in CAGED, the first part, I found with this second installment that the continuation of the slow development began to feel juvenile and become a little monotonous for my reading tastes. This resulted in my frustration and annoyance with the heroine who is the main cause and began to demonstrate a woe is me attitude. She’s not the most important aspect for me but equally she was divisive in my growing frustrations with the characters and story arc which began to detract from my enjoyment and potentially is the factor that made me question some of the coincidental aspects in the plot.

Having said that there are certainly moments where my enjoyment peeked. In all honesty I lost some of my love for the story in this second part but in equal measure the last 10-20% of the book rekindled my feelings and I found myself re-invested in the characters and story. The pace picked up and I felt the angst of the male protagonist's situation.

At the end of book one, I anticipated that TRAPPED would take me on a darker journey and by the end I felt my anticipation turn into a promise that I'll experience a darker edge and an increased level of angst. I very much feel the best is yet to come in RELEASED the third and final part.

Another smash hit for me. This one was not as light as the first book but, still had its laugh out loud moments. Overall, it was gritter and deeper as Shay slowly peels back the layers of both Tria and Liam.

 photo trapped_zpsb2mcm4nm.jpg

Tria and Liam grow closer as she becomes more confident in Liam's attention and affection.

”Like everything else about you. It’s how beautiful you are when you’re pissed off at me. It’s how you smile when you’re making me breakfast. It’s your eyes, your voice, the smell of your hair. It’s how your skin feels against mine. Everything about you makes me want you more.”

There were some really cute and funny moments as Liam struggles to be patient and surpress his sexual urges as he doesn't want to pressure Tria. His inner dialogue is hilarious.

From the first book, it's apparent that both Tria and Liam have their secrets that have shaped them into who they are. In this book, we learn more about Tria’s past and her insecurities and a little bit more about Liam’s past. While there are still a lot of unanswered questions surrounding Liam, which he refuses to share with Tria, we start to put the pieces together. He has a few more interactions with his family and the most interesting part of it all is how Liam reacts to them.

He clearly hasn't dealt with the loss, anger and grief from the traumatic event he endured. It’s obvious that so much of how he acts and why he fights...

...is wrapped up in the past and what happened (hints are given and while Liam doesn't come clean, I was able to figure out what I think happened). And Liam is warned that if he doesn't face it, he could lose Tria.

“I’ve spent a long time not feeling anything because all I felt was…bad. I was only happy when I was fighting, but you…you changed all of that. For the first time in a decade, I have a reason to be outside the cage.”

My most favourite thing about Shay’s writing is her ability to create such magnetic yet flawed male characters that I can’t help but be drawn to them.

Liam Teague is one of those men. More so than the first book, I discovered more of his vulnerabilities and flaws as well as his sweet and tender side mixed in with his uber Alpha fighter persona that made him irresistible.

This was an edgier read and with that came more emotions and anticipation as I knew it was building to something -- something not so good. And sure enough, it ends on a cliffy that had me in despair. I seriously need the final book ASAP!

This leads straight on from Caged: Takedown Teague and although it didn't quite reach the peak that I was expecting it to, it did keep my interest and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the development of Tria and Liam's relationship.

I watched her blush as she realized all I was doing was watching her.
"I can't stop." I whispered in her ear.
"It hurts to look away from you."

More secrets are revealed and a few more are introduced, I really enjoyed learning all about Liam's family and his past.

Another cliffhanger? Well yes, but I was NOT expecting it to go in this direction. However, it will be interesting to see how everything will work out in the final part of this trilogy.

Overall for a 'middle book'it was a good solid read and I am excited to read Released.

This starts off exactly where book #1 ended, the group of them are driving towards that fucked up ceremony..

The whole fucking community watched, apparently.

You know that saying keep it in the family well this is keep it in the community that ceremony where the community get barren woman pregnant..That is one town you do not want to live in!!HELL TO THE NO!!

Hoping the heat factor makes it's way into this book because the previous book it was freezing..No action for this hoe reader..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Krazy Katie's meltdown at the supermarket and what Liam says to a shopper will have you giggling out loud!! Liam just has no filter, you never know what's going to come out of his mouth, and that's what makes his character come so alive..

Krazy Katie had become a much larger presence in our lives.

Did you put your penis in her yet? Krazy Katie asked

I enjoyed this more than the previous book, more drama, more depth to the story, more heat, more heart, more angst..

Usually with challenge nights. I dove right in and took people out pretty quickly. I was going to drag this fight out as long as I could, and I was going to enjoy every last minute of it.

Now lets talk about that ending..In my head I was screaming Noooooooo Don't do it!! Now I'm sitting there left hanging for the next book!! GAH!! Because the way that ended I NEED to know what's going to happen next!! That ending sucked hairy assed old man's balls!!

Let me just start of by saying that if you thought book one ended in a cliffhanger, you haven’t seen anything yet. Thank god book three is out later this month!

Screenshot_4

What I found with Trapped was that Takedown Teague really felt like more of Tria’s story – we get to know a lot about her, we get small pieces of Liam but nothing concrete until now – and even now, you’re left with so many more questions.

So we start off exactly where we left off. Some small town in Maine with Population: Screwed The F Up. I won’t go into what this entails, since I think discovering Tria’s upbringing is a major twist that readers who are lurking around reviews should really experience firsthand. But what we get in Trapped is seeing this experience through Liam’s eyes and partly I think him being so vocal about how screwed up it all was really broke through to Tria a bit.

Screenshot_2

But her past isn’t quite finished with her yet and it appears neither is Liam’s.

Screenshot_1

I was looking forward to this installment of the series, I loved the climb from book one and was ready to hit the top of the mountain with book two only to discover that Shay wasn’t quite ready for that just yet. Everything I thought I had figured out about Liam’s past blew up in my face and I still have no clue as to what to expect him to reveal, only that I am guessing it is going to be ten times worse than I ever imagined.

Screenshot_1 (2)

I think what I love most about Shay’s writing beyond just the way she writes the male POV is that she is does not write conventional romances. There is a bit of this grit to the experience and even when you’re getting some sweet moments, there is still this darker underbelly that is lurking just off in the shadows. She also doesn’t just give you a love story where the couples are going to wander off into the sunset without first learning why they need to appreciate that happiness (because it’s a long and hard road to end up there). But even with some very heavy themes and intense moments towards the end, we get laughs infused with the inclusion of Krazy Katie – I seriously want to know this girls story.
Screenshot_3

I am looking forward, now more than ever to Released. I need to know every single detail about Liam Teague!

Shay racked up the intensity in this sequel and delving deeper into the psych of Liam Teague. While the first book was more light-hearted, this one left me with a heavy feeling.

description

I will try to keep this vague and spoiler free for those who have not read Book 1.

Liam and Tria's relationship is tight as ever and I always love seeing that no matter how poor they are, they make best of their situation. Liam still fighting at the bar, Tria is still studying, their neighbor, Crazy Katie is still crazy. Of course, things can't be all nice and dandy for them for long.

Liam finally had to come face to face with the past that he abandoned. I'm glad to finally know more of Liam and his family. Although things are not explained clearly to us yet, we get some small hints of what's to come.

As for Tria, she felt very much like a secondary character to me previously because as per usual Shay Savage's style, we don't get any of her POV. However, this time I starting to like her more and appreciating her effort to help Liam, even though that stubborn guy rather wallow in his own misery.

While the previous book ending with an interesting cliffhanger, this one ended with a rather solemn mood. I'm hopeful that Liam had to undergo some soul searching of his own before he can have his peace.

Overall, I simply adore this series, there is something endearing about Liam and his moody bastard of a dick and his phobia towards Tria's enormous bag.

There is another month to go for me to get the sought after HEA. Please make it worth the wait!

Holy. Crap!

Being inside Liam's mind is like a psychedelic trip. I've never dropped acid mind you, but his tangents seem to fit what I believe would be the delusions I would have if I were under its influence.

I still don't know his back story in its entirety, but I'm guessing that's what book 3 is for. What I have learned so far sounds traumatic. The offhand diagnosis of PTSD seems pretty accurate for his character. I'd like to see him get some help.

Actually, I think Liam needs a lot of help lol. He refuses to accept his wrong, to accept his past, to accept his own thoughts (and sometimes those of others), or to accept his feelings (and sometimes those of others). He lives in absolute denial. He has an uncanny ability to lock shit away without dealing with it or resolving anything.

The author's writing was amazing. I was completely absorbed with Liam's thoughts (and actions), from start to finish. His future, with or without Tria, doesn't seem too bright. Or to even be guaranteed :(

*Hoping for a HEA or HFN*

For a number of reasons, this book totally worked for me. First, I’m one of those readers who actually almost always end up loving the 2nd book in a series more than the 1st, ie, if I happen to really enjoy the 1st one. Probably because I have better knowledge of what to expect and some emotion has been invested already to make it flourish. Second, I feel like the story has hit its stride here. Third, I somehow felt the emotions more in this one.

In the first book, we got a glimpse into Tria’s past and all the effed-up-ness that came with it and this is where this book picked up. Liam and Tria go thru that and return to their daily lives. Again, it feels like there’s not a whole lot of arc to the story but this time around, I appreciated more seeing them go thru daily stuff. Frankly, had this been more than 3 books and I get the more of the same, I’ll be just a happy camper. But getting back to this one, now it’s also about moving their relationship a few more steps forward, in and out of the bedroom.

I thought Liam could not be any more sweet about he’s dealing with the whole relationship thing. No, he’s not perfect as he has own issues to deal with that he just struggles to share with Tria and he’s certainly no saint with his temper, but I can see that he’s really trying. And seriously, he just continues to crack me up with his thoughts. It’s the most charming thing! Tria, I know she has issues, and I almost lost my patience with her at one point, but I understood eventually. It’s hard to relate, but at least, like I said, I understood. She is exactly what Liam needs.

Despite their history, there is such innocence to their relationship. Given what Tria’s childhood’s like and what I think Liam went thru, it felt like their childhood was cut short yet it also stunted their emotional maturity, to a degree, so there is this youth-like quality to their interaction.

There is so much more to reveal about Liam’s past. There are enough details yet still not enough to fully explain how he became who he is. It’s quite sad actually seeing him go thru what he’s going thru. There’s just no way to get mad at him, it’s more heartbreaking really.

I’m confused but feeling much for Liam and Tria in the last 20%. Oh Shay, why, oh, why must you end this book that way??? I’m just glad that bk 3 is practically around the corner. I wanna see these kids get their HEA!!!

This book hooked me even more than the first. It continues the tale of Tria & Liam as they slowly find the way to being together.
I loved how the book progressed. I think Liam's character is really complex and he is a multidimensional personality. You never know what he is gonna say or do. His love for Tria is simply adorable to watch and I love how gentle and patient he is with her.
Tria is a quiet heroine but a strong one despite her insecurities. They take their relationship to the next level and it is absolutely explosive! They just click so well together.

She is simply one of a kind despite her insanity. Love her.
The book was full of twists and turns and that ending! Guh! We finally, FINALLY, get to know Liam's secret and then BAM! The author leaves us hanging and I cannot wait for the final book.

“I’ve spent a long time not feeling anything because all I felt was…bad. I was only happy when I was fighting, but you…you changed all of that. For the first time in a decade, I have a reason to be outside the cage.”

Book 2 picks up where book 1 ended. Shay Savage takes us on a journey of life, where, culturally we become shocked and our emotions are taken on a roller coaster ride of bizarre proportions.

Caged: Trapped for me became a story telling of Tria's life and her own insecurities, coupled with Liam and Tria coming together. The way she slowly opened up to Liam, and how he fought to ensure her safety and survival. These two didn't have it easy. Tria's own life from birth to adulthood was extremely difficult and to the point of surreal. She has to learn to be confident and not succumb to her past life and rituals. Liam on the other hand, had it too easy and had to learn to live within his means. His own survival depended on him, and his anger coated most of his decisions.

As book two progress, we truly see how caring Liam is, when he helps his crazy ass neighbour, Crazy Katie. This part in the book touched me to the core. His tough guy exterior and hardened personality, was softened as his own vulnerabilities slowly shine through.

We get some more insight in Liam's past. Not too much, but enough to continue to intrigue and keep me engrossed. I always loved these family dramas. They add so much ummppphhh and versatility to a story. Trapped made me enthusiastic to continue on. It was funny and witty, made me angry and sad, it even gave me whiplash with these two. I laughed and I loved, especially Crazy Katie.

”Like everything else about you. It’s how beautiful you are when you’re pissed off at me. It’s how you smile when you’re making me breakfast. It’s your eyes, your voice, the smell of your hair. It’s how your skin feels against mine. Everything about you makes me want you more.”

Unsurprisingly genius!

That's what I would call this second part in Shay Savage's CAGED series.

Genius because I didn't know the level of both characters' pasts and how it would affect them in their present. As it turns out, they still have to work on many things as they go along.

I'd like to say that I got to know more about Tria here. She opened up more and is still very loyal to Liam. I like it that she listens to him and tries to understand him no matter what. Liam have also grown since meeting Tria. He's still got this overprotective vibe going on, but he helps her find herself and lets her be as much as he can. I think the only think hindering him from being fully happy is that thing about his past...

About that... All I can say is... I CAN'T WAIT FOR THINGS TO CLEAR UP. Like totally!! I wanna know what truly happened to him and how they're going to fix it. I can't wait for his family to be complete. I honestly think that Liam's family is sorry about things. I can feel it in my bones. I hope he lets them in and I hope everything goes well in the next book for all of them.

This book is hot, very intriguing and will captivate you the moment you turn to page 1!!

I DO WANT THE NEXT BOOK LIKE ASAP THOUGH!!!!

Man, the things that the next book should answer!!!

With a cliffy at the end of book 1, I was giddy to start this one right away... and it didn't disappoint.

Liam and Tria were finally a couple and they were facing life's challenges together. They were also dealing with issues about their past, Tria more than Liam who was still too emotionally damaged to talk about certain aspects of his past.

Tria was stronger and more assertive in this book which I really loved. It wasn't a quick and easy climb for her, but she learned not to allow others dictate who she was and undermine her worth.

I think one of the things I enjoyed most about this series was the unconventional take on other people's lifestyle. The community where Tria came from had an unorthodox rituals and beliefs. I'm not sure if it really happens in real life but I'm assuming it probably does. Aside from enjoying the story of Liam and Tria, this book had me thinking about different cultures and though I respect the customs and practices of others, I am also grateful that mine is pretty simple and uncomplicated.

The book was once again told in Liam's POV and I was happy about that. His thoughts and ramblings were just hilarious. He definitely had a colorful vocabulary. Another hit for me was that he still had many ways to call her bag ( I actually listed them all down coz I just find them so funny!)

This book was more intense than the first because their pasts were catching up to them and they weren't prepared to face them head on. It also contained sexy times because they were finally a couple.

The final book in this series will most likely be pulling at my heartstrings because Liam will have to face his fears and his traumatic past to be able to move forward with Tria.

It was not what I expected it to be, that's for sure.

I love Shay, and her stories...and her men/young men LOL

and this was just the turning point, while reading I was in a "jump moment" expecting for some terrible shit to pop out around the corner BUT it never did, well at least not in the measure I anticipated!

instead the characters grew with every moment of the story,(which is good, of course) both Liam and Tria are growing towards each other in their relationship, they are building up BUT Liam is still reserved and then when the "trigger thing" happens he can't face it (cause of the "history repeats itself" state)

and he goes ape shit wild and then there's only one way for him...and that is....down, down, down...to the bottomless pit of a human's existence

and now I am just pissed as hell...

Oh my gosh, the ending to this book just broke me!  Why Liam, why?  Oh, you poor thing!  I can't even.....

This book started off where we left off in Book 1.....Tria and Liam heading to her hometown.  WTF!  I can't even believe what this little town was all about.  There was a little bit of anxiety on my part, but things went much better than I expected.

Liam is struggling to come to terms with his past....and Tria, damn that girl was strong.  But Liam, I just had such a soft spot for him. Can't give away to much without spoiling.

Okay, moving onto Book #3.....because I hear it just gets better and better.

Still loving it but only because I waited until I could get all the parts of the book before I started reading it. This publishing parts of books at a time is such a pain in the ass. If I don't happen to know ahead of time that it's only a part of one and accidentally read it before the rest is published I'm liable to go postal or at the very least boycott the author like I've done with another that will remain unnamed here. I don't even want to think about that with Shay's writing. It's my absolute favorite. Although I doubt I could forgive even my favorite for leaving me hanging in the middle of a story like these "book pieces" tend to do.

I enjoyed this story and I liked their buildup. I felt like the characters were fleshed out a bit more and the story went somewhere. It didn't suffer the "middle book" syndrome. It had a purpose and reason.

One thing I really didn't like was Liam....this guy is realllllly not someone I'd want to be with. He is quick get angry and so aggressive. He's possessive and makes awful decisions for him and for Tria.

I'm going to read another book and then get to the last one. I just need a break from the very trying Liam.

Life and heaven and chocolate...and then not.
Since this is my first ride with Shay Savage I'm unfamiliar with her work...so I have no clue what the outcome of my visit to crazy-town will be. I'm afraid something is gonna get knocked loose cuz I keep SMH. The more I learn the less I know. The less I know the more curious I get. The longer it takes the more impatient I get. Speaking of patience, poor Liam and his "moody little bastard." There are so many secrets, so much anger and feelings of betrayal. This book picks up where the other one left off. It takes us a little deeper into Tria's past and gives us some answers about where her head is at. However; Liam's head is closed up tighter than Fort Knox, at least as far as sharing his past is concerned. He refuses to talk about it. But that doesn't stop him from remembering or dreaming about it. The more he runs from it, the more it seems to be overtaking him. The more he's tempted to deal with it in an unhealthy way. It's Tria that brings him peace. It's Tria that comforts him when he's battling his demons. But how is she supposed to help him if he doesn't share it with her? Will his fear of losing her be the very thing that causes it to happen? Will Keith ever let her go, or will he convince her to go back to Bealls? Can Liam continue to keep his past a secret when his past keeps showing up? I certainly hope not, cuz I damn sure need to know what the hell happened to create the drama that ensues whenever that happens. Unfortunately, that didn't happen in this installment...the drama, yes...the answers regarding Liam's past, no. So, you know what that means, right? More waiting and nail biting anticipation. See ya there.

Gritty! Real! Saucey! In your face, no holds barred, pure Savagery!

I knew this book would be great because Shay wrote it, although I have to admit I was expecting the typical alpha-fighter-bad-boy-romance story like the the tons of others I’ve read.

Dead wrong. This is by far a cut above the rest.

I was blown away with how real the characters were written and portrayed. I felt like I was a fly on the wall watching real people face their life issues. I loved how Shay tackled the emotional problems our hero faced. People sometimes forget that men have real emotions and expect them to always be strong, never cry, and to suck it up. The Caged Series was an impressive take on one man’s struggle, a woman’s need to better herself, and a couple’s desire to love one another through all of life’s road blocks.

But geeze that all sounds deep and boring but NO, this book was anything but. It was funny as hell and incredible sexy! It was raunchy, clever, and amazing!
Damn that first kiss had me melting.

Shay is a master storyteller, her writing is simply phenomenal!
The characters are incredibly realistic and thoroughly developed.
The story was unique, interesting, and kept me utterly riveted.
And as you can tell I loved, loved, loved this series!

My favorites:
“Swirling Vortex of Doom”
“Sack of Sauron”
“Balrog’s Backpack”
...and no these aren’t LOR quotes, you just have to read the series to find out.

5 Blowin’ stars!

I could say that I like the first series on this book that this one.
It was just revealed the secrets of this story. I am a little dissapointed to Liam
on what he did . But for Tria I was adored by her because she stand up for herself.
Still I loved this couple.

WOW! That was SO intense! SO brutal! So freaking incredible! My heart has not slowed down a bit since reading the final page of this bad boy! Shay Savage officially has me addicted. Addicted to Liam. Addicted to Tria. I need another fix STAT Ms. Savage and I need it now!

After leaving us with our jaws on the floor in CAGED, Shay Savage brought her 'A game' in book #2. I couldn't read the pages fast enough. I was thrilled, elated, and just giddy to see what happens next. In TRAPPED we get to learn more and more about Liam and Tria. The two become closer, become more comfortable with each other, and let me tell you, THE SPARKS FLY! Liam shows his strength in restraint and Tria becomes more confident in her relationship and feelings for Liam. Together, they are growing learning each other's likes and dislikes. TRAPPED was full of wonderfully cute moments, laugh out loud moments, and intense gritty moments. Sexual tension ignites and Liam is put to the test. The thing that used to be so easy for him has become more challenging.

Liam and Tria have secrets. There is some mystery regarding their pasts that come to light. We learn more of Liam's family and the secret he is trying so hard to keep from Tria. The interactions between Liam and his family are very intense. The interactions between Liam and Tria become insanely intense both sexually and emotionally. This traumatic event that has happened to Liam will end up destroying his light if he doesn't face it head on. He has yet to deal with his guilt, his regret, and it will end up eating him alive. The complete control that he shows while in the ring, ends up crumbling. The demons that he tries to keep hidden away come rushing to the forefront threatening to destroy his relationship with Tria.

Liam is quickly becoming a favorite character of mine. He is so flawed, so damaged, and yet I am so drawn to him, it's insane. TRAPPED was more intense, more sexy than the first book. Even though we learn so much in this installment, there is still so many questions left unanswered. Shay Savage is a genius at sucking readers in, making them beg for more. Have no fear, the final book will be here before you know it. At least that is what I keep telling myself! Who am I kidding! I need it now! The anticipation is killing me!

Oh Liam, NO! This book picks up right where book 1 left off, in Beals where the strange ritual was going on. Brandon sees the light and doesn't allow his wife Nikki to go thru with it. Pretty uneventful so Tria and Liam head back home. Their relationship continues on its course and becomes more intense. On their first date, they run into Liams cousin Ryan and his fiance Amanda (who incidentally was in a foster home with Tria at one time). He gets roped into attending his wedding in the following weeks and Tria goes with him. Naturally it isn't a happy family reunion btwn Liam and his rents whom he hasn't seen them in 10 yrs. so it leads to quite the scene and Liam storming out of the reception. Weeks after his fam stop trying to reach out again. Liam is back fighting and is surprised when Keith, Trias ex, challenges him in the cage. Liam pummels him but Keith gets the upper hand and stabs him. His injury requires extensive surgery and 3 transfusions. His fam tries to make contact with him again at the hospital but he tells them to leave. He heals and starts training again to fight. He comes home and finds Tria with an uneasy look. She tells him her birth control pills were recalled due to being faulty and she is now pregnant. He freaks out and starts having flash backs to what happened with him and his g/f when he was 17 (but we still don't know what happened. ) He tells her they can get her an abortion as he fears what will happen to her during the pregnancy but we still don't know why. He says all the wrong things and leaves the apartment. When he returns much later, Tria has packed up everything and left. He is completely distraught and sinks to the lowest depths by succumbing to his heroin addiction once again. Sad. Book 3 better have a HEA. 4 solid stars

Answers some of the questions left dangling in the first book : I read Caged, the first book in the series, as an ARC so I bought this, eager to dive back into Liam and Tria's world, especially after the way things ended on a cliffy. Picking up right with Caged left off, I enjoyed that the cliffhanger was resolved, even if I expected something more to happen. Unfortunately, that's what the theme of this book in the trilogy felt like - waiting for something more to happen.

This is definitely a book that requires you read the first, or it won’t really work. There’s forward movement in Liam and Tria’s relationship and glimpses of Tria’s past, as well as Liam’s demons, so there are some key scenes that give forward progress to the overall tale.

Settles into the day to day ...maybe too much : However, I think the main problem I had with this was that there’s alot of downtime between those key scenes. There were nice enough, but it was pretty easy to put this down and read other things and once I knew that there was nothing substantial to hit until the end, I was just meandering along with the characters.

Liam’s fall is desperately needed : What’s sad is that I was waiting for Liam to mess up huge, if only because he was getting on my nerves. If he was a heroine, I can guarantee he would be roasted over the coals for his short temper, inability to deal with his feelings and tendency to run whenever the going gets tough. I sympathized with Tria and just wanted him to get his head out of his ass and get the show on the road.

The Bottom Line (2 ½ stars)
It was ok and I liked parts of it, even if I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first book. Reserving decision on the series until I read the final book in the trilogy, but this feels like a bridge book and not something that works much on its own.

Good lordy, I am absolutely in love with this series. When we finished Takedown Teague we were left with a bit of cliffy in Tria’s home town which just happens to be the weirdest place on earth. So, Trapped picks up right where Takedown Teague ends and then THIS BOOK. OMG THIS BOOK. So much happens. I stayed up late into the night to finish it because I still had so many questions and the action picks up quite a bit in this one. Liam! You learn a bit more about Liam and a lot more about Tria in Trapped. There has been a slow build to love and I am loving that about this series so much. I like insta-love sometimes but I really do enjoy a plodding heavy with emotions build and this book has all of that and more.

“For the first time in a decade, I have a reason to be outside the cage.”

Also, finally we get some sexy time for Liam and Tria! Come on, you know you have been waiting with bated breath, just as I have. I mean the sexual tension has been off the charts with these two from the very beginning. All of the sleeping together and being with each other all of the time. I was like COME ON! But it was worth the wait because it was scorching hot! Whew Liam!

But the real kicker this book is the feels. So many freaking feels. I was crying my eyes out by the end. Goodness, I felt like I had been put through the ringer by the time the book ended and I admit I was disappointed with Liam because I was rooting for him so hard to overcome whatever terribleness that is his past. Yes, I still do not have all of the answers. There are still a ton of questions at the end of Trapped complete with a humongous cliffy. I was literally dying. I cannot wait for Released because I am still rooting for Liam and Tria hard! If you are looking for a sexy, gritty, and raw book with all of the feels then the Caged series is a must read! I am in love!

“I cant stop”
“It hurts to look away from you.”
