No one knows where the Keepers came from. Not even Lizzy Walters, who has the ability to see both the past and the future. In fact, there is only one thing Lizzy can’t see, and that is the dead. Yet her dreams for more than a hundred years have involved impossible futures with impossible consequences.
But all thoughts of the dead are soon swept aside when a mysterious plaque takes hold of the Weres. Their shifts are killing them, turning the flowing of forms into a death sentence of broken bones and torn bodies.
There is only one person alive capable of saving the Weres, and Georgianna Rose, Crone to all witches, hasn’t been seen in centuries.
Lizzy must race against death to find a witch who doesn’t want to be found, and in the process uncovers truths about the world she may wish had stayed buried.

Michelle has been writing and reading her whole life. Her earliest memory of books was when she was five and decided to try and teach her fish how to read, by putting her Beatrix Potter books in the fish tank with them. Since then her love of books has grown, and now she is writing her own, and looking forward to seeing them on her shelves, though they won’t be going anywhere near the fish tank.

This final installment of The Keepers Chronicles takes place about a century after the third book and Serenity’s death. Her ‘niece’ Lizzy, a seer with the ability to see past and future, has taken over keeping watch over the creatures. She’s very disturbed and confused about a recurring dream, however, because despite not being able to see the dead, that is exactly what she is seeing.

This conundrum takes a backseat when the Weres start dying when they shift. All efforts are made to find a cure for this mysterious illness, including tracking down an ancient and powerful witch.

What follows is an emotional rollercoaster full of action, love, loss, loyalty and mystery. The author does a good job alternating action-packed sequences with calm reflection and research, while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout.

This book is different in that the protagonist isn’t Serenity, like in the previous books, but Lizzy is a worthy heir to the responsibilities of the Keepers. I also liked reading about the family and coven dynamics.

The author has a very evocative writing style, which serves to bring the story to life. This book is an excellent conclusion to a riveting series.
