We Kinky Three #2

Tied Between

Rate this book
Screwing two guys? Now that's easy. But living with them? That's an entirely different story.

Erin Slater loves her life. With the career she has always dreamed of just one phone call away, and two hot guys who have tied up her personal life in the very best of ways, what more could a girl ask for? Yet as hot and steamy as the sex is with Jack and Simon, sex alone does not a relationship make. They each have their own demons to battle, but acknowledging them can be much harder than it seems.

Not having enough time to spend with the guys is wearing her down, and as much as she loves being Simon's submissive, she needs more from him than the occasional workout in the attic. Simon is still hung up on what happened in the past, and sometimes, she's not sure that he has realized that Jack and Erin can give him everything he'd ever want. Then there is Jack--who is learning to accept Erin and Simon as they are, but still wears his heart on his sleeve--a constant reminder that Erin is not the only one who needs so much more than they have right now. And with their track record? Let's just say that she hopes that they can work this out before they end up unravelling all ties between them.

If you love steamy BDSM erotic romance with a twist, this is the series for you! For the best experience, pick up the first novel - Caught in the Middle - first!

Kira Barker has always enjoyed telling stories. It has kept her sane through high school and college, and has become a true passion since. A geek gamer girl herself, she feels at home reading sci-fi and fantasy as much as writing romance. She likes her plots gritty, her smut realistic, and doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty when it comes to research. When she’s not writing, she loves annoying her cats or cruising country roads on her motorcycle.

I absolutely love where Kira took the Trio this time around. While she closes the book, she leaves it open for the future. We get a look into how they deal with the blossoming relationship and how they react to different scenarios. It will open your eyes to a whole new world. I know I want to trade places with Erin!!

I can't wait to see what Kira does in book 3 and how the Trio will continue to grow and develop. Kira has an amazing way of putting you in the scene so you feel as though you're living this life with them. The feeling and emotions one can go through while reading a story, is only brought on by amazing writing!! Kira has that talent in all of her books!! I gasp and laugh so hard at times, I get funny looks from bystanders. I recommend reading this in the privacy of your home or bedroom. Here's my view on what Kira gives us in We Kinky Three: Tied Between.

With the Trio deciding to move forward with their relationship, it's now time to see if everything will fall into place, or if the foundation will crumble. While amazingly scorching sex is always a bonus in any relationship, it's not what holds one together. Tied Between is a book of self discovery, learning to adapt and understanding.

Erin is happy with their decision to move forward and explore all aspects of their unconventional relationship. Her career is pushing her to the limit and she needs to find balance now, if she wants any chance of getting on track with Jack and Simon.
Jack, while he is open minded and happy go lucky, is still having some reservations with the Dom/sub relationship between Simon and Erin. While he has relaxed to a point, he is jealous of that time they have and has a proposition for them.

Simon is having feelings he doesn't know what to do with. He is trying to find the perfect blend between the everyday relationship and the D/s relationship Erin. He also needs Jack and Erin to come out of the closet, so to speak, to their families, in order to feel as though they can move forward.

With help from an unlikely source, Erin finds the courage to confront the problems head on. She is willing to fight for their love, but after all the insecurities, will the guys feel the same way? How will their families take the news of their very loving and open relationship? Take this journey through Erin's eyes while they try to untangle the knots to create their own balance in life.

Three Children Fight Every Other Page

I read this book hoping the characters learned their lesson about communication from the first book. Nope. We are still having the same stupid fights about the same stupid things. And Erin is wrong. Every time. She is the most selfish, irrational, narcissistic woman. It is a shame that the whole book is from her perspective and doesn't switch to either of the guys. They are far more interesting. Erin even comments on how bored she is many times in this book. You and me both, Sister.

Tied Between is the second book in the We Kinky Three series. After book one I wasn’t sure how the author was going to raise the bar higher with this one but she found the missing piece we needed. In the first book we were introduced to Erin and Jack, who were longtime friends but didn’t take it any farther than that. Jack was the kind of man who would play around with women and supported Erin in her moments of stress during her life. Erin was in her residency at the hospital. When she almost lost the chance to land at the hospital she wanted and with the stress and crazy schedule, she would go to Jack’s place and unwind. This is where she met Simon, Jack’s friend. Simon was the reserved author who lived with his stories that he wrote and had a need to be a Dom in the attic playroom. Erin found her escape with Simon yet Jack couldn’t understand the need to be “abused” and friction began between the three.

After reading Tied Between I realized just how little we really knew of Erin, Simon and Jack. I knew I loved them in book one but now after seeing the emotional and personal dynamics not only individually but as couples and a ménage, I realize just how much more invested I am in this story. The author spent a great deal of time, giving us the journey for these three as they discover each other, the needs of the relationship and realizing just what they could really give to a three way relationship. Old hurts and past feelings will be dealt with, giving us more insight to the hearts of the friends.

There are some hot and passionate scenes in this book, most will make you melt but for me it was more important to discover the conflict and feelings surrounding the passionate moments. How is Erin going to make each man feel comfortable in this environment when she needs both dominance and tenderness? Both men will have to find their boundaries and connection with each other and will Erin be able to handle the fact she won’t be center of the passion every single time. We watch as one wants to run, the other wants to get angry and the last one plays peace maker. All three unique and difficult personalities trying to mesh into a common bond for each other, yet not lose their own soul in the process.

I was amazed at how the author gave us the realistic side to this story, the foundation of what their future will be created on. Often times the second book is filled with drama and action to keep the reader interested, but this time she gave us raw emotions and understanding so we connected more with the characters than the overall plot. I found that I lost focus on where the story was going because I was to drawn in to the current storm they faced. I love this series, I am impressed by the author’s ability to tell a story without the glitz and glamour used these days. I highly recommend you check out this author and her books.

If I only understood why these three: Jack, Erin and Simon, get to me as literature characters this deeply. I laugh with them, I purr with satisfaction with them, I am sad and miserable with them and I shout and scream silently with and at them. They just get to me and I couldn't be happier following their journey. Because that's what these series are about: their journey from friendship via random casual sex and BDSM to love and a relationship.

Like all relationships, their menage has teething troubles, too. When everyday life meets sleep deprivation, desires, past histories, complex characters' idiosyncrasies and different kind of dreams and realities, it's clear that life isn't always a bed of roses, and that's what I love in this book. Kira Barker writes very realistically about the lives of this trio, their ups and downs, their communication and the lack of. Of course she writes, as always, also hot sex scenes but the point of this book is just like Kira wrote: "Sex is great but there are more important things in life.", and that's why I loved this book. It's so much more than hot scenes in bed or in the attic.

In this book Kira gives us an Erin that at times is such a self-centered queen on a pedestal, keeping her distance, that you might even start to dislike her. Almost. Luckily the loving Jack balances her out. No matter what he did in book 1, he's my favourite guy, a home that everyone wants. Somehow all I can have for him is my puppy love. He just knows how to say the right words. His and Erin's witty banter is as wonderful as before but he shows his serious side and his love to his family, too. Their trip home and new characters, Jack's mom and Jenny, were just wonderful to read about.

What surprised me in this book was how Simon started to grow on me: his outspokenness towards Erin, his beautiful dominance and his complex feelings for both Erin and Jack. And oh boy, I can't wait for book 3 where at least Jack and Simon need to sort out their feelings to each other. But I know, Kira is a tease, too, so who knows how long we have to wait for their heart-to-heart. I'll wait to the end of these series if I have to, but I believe she has other plans for these favourite three of mine! I can't wait for book 3!

Tied Between in the second book in the series, We Kinky Three. Kira Barker has definitely upped the game in this book and whilst the kinky, sizzling sex scenes are there, the characters develop and their struggles with a multiple relationship are unearthed.

Erin, Simon and Jack are still finding it hard to find the right balance in their relationship. This next installment to the series, sees Erin battle to voice her wants and desires. Her heart is split between two men, loving and dependable Jack, who is disturbed by some aspects of Simon and Erin's Dom/Sub adventures and Simon, closed off but masterful of her mind and body.

Striving for calm and routine, just when the three think they have overcome one problem another appears on the horizon. In addition to relationship woes, there is trouble in Erin's worklife, as well planned career plans, come crashing down around her and the realisation that not everybody in her life is accepting of her lifestyle choice.

Great series and can't wait for book number three!

HOT HOT HOT!

From page one, this book sizzles!

Tied Between is book 2 in the We Kinky Three series by the spectacular Kira Barker and man is it good! There's dungeon play, there's attic play, there's bedroom play and the snark is off the charts!

Erin, Simon and Jack are trying to make things work between them but the dynamics of making this relationship work are much harder than originally anticipated. Jealousy, exes and acceptance run rampant in this book and it does exactly what I wanted it to do - it makes the Kinky Three work for every moment. When family gets involved, it gets even better!

This book is exactly what I wanted in a sequal to Caught in the Middle. I'm stoked for book three!

Loving this series! If you haven't read "Caught in the Middle" you'll want to read that first, believe me this series is well worth it!! :)

I didn't think it could get any better, but Kira has done it yet again with book 2. So many menage books/series try, but they seem to fall flat and just be the same things over and over again. Not this series..

Simon, Jack and Erin have many hurdles to get over towards making a poly come together and find out what works best for each of them. Not to mention telling their families...can you say 4th of July with fireworks blazing all around you?? ;)

I look forward to reading lots more in this series and can't wait for book 3... get in that cave and stay there Kira!!! :)

Simon, Jack, and Erin are back in this next installment of the We Kinky Three series. Picking up close to where Caught in the Middle left off, Tied Between continues the story of this threesome, showing us their daily up and downs as well as their EXPLICIT chemistry. Simon and Erin are establishing the boundaries of their BDSM relationship while on the flip side, Erin is working on repairing her friendship with Jack so they can all move on as lovers.
Raw, emotional, and gritty, Ms. Barker's writing style is so concise and fluent, that you easily get swept away in the storytelling.

The incorporating of a BDSM relationship with two of the characters in this threesome makes everything more challenging. But the "kinky three" still manage to evolve within their relationship. I found myself really identifying with Erin's need to have her love returned and the insecurities that come when they are not...well at least not in the way you need them. This threesome is trying to get over their own personal baggage and not loose each other in the process. But will they really be able to without tearing each other down to the point of no return?

This second of a three book series depicts the chaotic lives of three more-than-friends as they try to navigate their poly amorous relationship. Unlike some other stories of this type I've read, this one shows realistic conflicts and growing pains of this unconventional relationship. I love the way Ms. Barker shows their flaws and strengths both with equal clarity. The sex is hot too!
