When Tristan Riley drags Lillian Maddox onto the dance floor at Teplo, he intends only to protect his cover… at least that's what he tells himself. But the lovely Lillian would tempt a saint, and Tristan is far from a gentleman. Beneath the bright lights of the Vetrov family's dangerous club, the weary DEA agent finds himself captivated by the ballerina, coaxing them both into a reckless, erotic encounter.

But Tristan isn't prepared for the intense connection between him and Lillian, or for the fallout of their tryst. In a matter of days, their lives careen wildly off course, catapulting them both into a deadly game of hide and seek with the Vetrov family and one of Mexico's deadliest drug cartels.

Trying to keep his hands to himself while working alongside Lillian to stop Anton Vetrov's deadly new drug proves almost impossible for Tristan, but what choice does he have when being with her might get her killed? He should know: his entire family was murdered by people just like Anton.

When the stakes are raised and innocent lives are lost, will Tristan be able to let go of the guilt, or will he destroy his chance at happiness with Lillian before it ever truly begins?

3 - "I hate arguing with you." Stars.

I am sort of at a loss about how I review this book. On one hand I really liked it, but on the other, and if I am being completely honest, having just finished it, I feel like I am still waiting for the story to get going.

There is no doubt that Ayden K. Morgen can write, and beautifully so. If I had started reading this book by an author with lesser skills in that area I think it would have been a DNF for sure. Her characters are well developed, the writing descriptive and almost lyrical in its flow at points, and you feel for Tristan and Lillian with every hurdle they overcome and every revelation they share. But for all the character development, the story itself sadly lacked any real progression for almost the whole book. It's possible that my interpretation of the synopsis is wrong, but I was expecting a little action, drug dealers acting as badly as drug dealers are wont to do, plenty of sexy times and a bit of an adventure with the main characters getting it on along the way...

The reality for me is that it actually starts out with a kick ass prologue, and then the rest of the book pretty much sticks to the same set of tropes the whole way through to its end. I kept reading expecting that the author would push me off course at some point in the proceedings and throw in a curve-ball, but it pretty much went like this the whole way through.

- Tristan brings Lillian to orgasm with his hand/mouth (often in public, but they do move it behind closed doors as the book progresses).
- Tristan denies that he is attracted to/or wants to get involved with Lillian (or vice-versa), they have a disagreement.
- Tristan changes his mind/Lillian changes her mind, they apologise to each other, more finger-banging ensues (although it does upgrade to sex as the book progresses)
- Lillian agrees to get involved with the whole Vetrov/Teplo Night Club Drug saga, Tristan doesn't want her too do it. They row, end up having sex, and he takes her to the club anyway.

As I said, if it wasn't for the high quality of the author's writing, and the fact I was desperately waiting for something to happen over and above their merry-go-round relationship drama, I am not sure I would have finished Ravished. Tristan is quite the dirty talking, dominant but caring guy, and Lillian although getting over the loss of something extremely important to her doesn't take too much shit from him, but I really, really expected more from this book as a whole. And I absolutely 100% expected more of an ending, I knew it was a trilogy going in so I was expecting a cliff hanger, but in the scheme of things it was all a little insipidly repetitive and echoed everything that had already been played out in full (and then some) through the book. I can't say I am on tenterhooks for book two, with basically a whole book of two-ing and fro-ing between the pair of them behind me, I am happy to accept that they call it a day and go on with their lives without each other.

Will I read the next book in The Teplo Trilogy at this point I honestly don't know how to answer that. The author certainly has a writing style that I found easy to engage in, I liked her characters for the most part... I just want more of a story too back up the quality of everything else that was offered. I almost feel like I have just read and epically long prologue, and the real story potentially begins with the second book.

"You're going to have to let me in someday."

My Thoughts - Story
I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of reading Ms. Morgen’s work if not for the Blog Tour…and DAMN…I’m so happy I had the opportunity because now I have a new series I can’t wait to read!

I enjoyed the storyline of this book and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The connection between Tristan and Lillian was mesmerizing and the back story of Lillian was fantastic.

Ms. Morgen did a spectacular job developing these characters and don’t even get me started with the steamy sex scenes…especially the dancing these two did! WOW!

Re-Cap
Lillian was a famous ballerina who lost everything from an accident – just getting her independence back, she visits the Teplo Club to watch the dancers until a stranger grabs her to dance with him. With the way he supports her on the dance floor, she once again can let her body go to feel the music. Tristan is attracted to her and can’t help himself from wanting more.

But there are so many obstacles in the way to have anything else from her. He isn’t really who he poses to be and with all the skeletons in each of their closets, the future looks bleak.

This book makes it pretty clear that it's all about the sexual tension - excuse me - frustration and sexy scenes, and I wouldn't have mind at all. Problem is, the supporting DEA story is incredibly weak and for my taste too unrealistic. It could have been brilliant.

Starting into this book I was initially confused about the prologue - since the man introduced as utter threat never makes a direct appearance again. It probably would have been better to leave out the prologue at all and leave the imagination of the Vetrov's vicious executioner a mystery.

However, I loved the writing stile, the usage of metaphors, the poetic phrasing... beautiful. If it wasn't for the fact that eventually I never got the chance to conclude the feelings of the characters for myself, in the end it was but into cold words how the characters felt. The problem is, all that I could fathom about Lilian and Tristan was the absolute invincible physical attraction they had for another. But ... I didn't care for them. I still don't. Our lead characters are emotionally childish. Sure, they are both tormented souls and have their cruel cross to bear but when it came to how they saw each other, it was more than frustrating, because they never gave themselves the benefit of a doubt. And the world they both live in - the harsh, disciplined world of ballet and the cruel world of drugs - are absolutely no excuse because naturally the would have grown up faster into harder, more rational persons, which both aren't. They have characters of teenagers, which is absolutely unrealistic and oh, so frustrating.

But, oh, the sex scenes. Everything leading up to the eventual sex was so worth reading, but the sex itself was leaving me rather hanging dry in comparison. Plus, the term "lapping" was used far too much for me. it's not sensual for me at all.
Again, the interaction between the characters when their attraction ignites to wildfire was a feast for my eyes and mind and that's the only reason this book gets three stars.

As to the supporting story: I already said it's weak and unrealistic, plus it's going in circles, the whole time. The apparent threat doesn't feel real which makes the worry and fear of the characters somewhat incredible. Plus, in a scene Lilian is obviously absolutely scared of a person, but then not only offers but almost demands to walk u to the same person, in order to help. Really?

I think the problem of this book is, that the storyline is dragged out. There were so many chances in the last quarter to just stop the story. I would have been interested into how things continue much more than I am now. It's all about the stupidity of our lovebirds as in: not trusting each other, doubting the feelings of the other person, doubting themselves, fighting their feelings, being surprised/terrified of their feelings for each other, telling themselves that it's only attraction, and so on. *sigh*
At least the book stayed true to it's title.

Although I am interested in how the story continues, it would have landed at the bottom of my to-read-list. However, I was generously offered the sequel as an ARC, too. So I will read the sequel soon. Hopefully it's less frustrating.

P.S. If it wasn't for the last quarter of this story, that was terribly dragging, I probably would have given it 3.5 stars rounded up. But I wanted to throw my kindle through the window. So, there's that.

There are many words I could use to describe Ravished. I could wax on about the descriptive writing, the extreme attention to detail Ayden Morgen uses when it comes to the criminal aspect of the story, or even the blatant hotness of the cover. Perhaps I could outline, in detail, how incredibly strong her alpha-male Tristan is, or how his protective, demanding ways with Lillian make a person dizzy and feel distinctly over-heated, a great many times while reading. And when he allows his softer, caring side to show through and breathes the word “Beautiful” at her?... Just wow.
Ayden write characters you’ve never met before, introduces emotions and creates images you have only dreamed about. Her words are magic.
Yes, there are so many more things I could say about this book—or I could simply say these words.
Hot. Descriptive. Intense. Brilliant. Panty-drenching, page-turning, give-me more-now, good.
Oh, and two other words.
More, please.

Lillian is finding herself again. After the tragic assault that left her feeling hopeless. She will never dance again, as she had, her dream. Feeling lost, unsure of herself and trying to be strong and get through everyday.
Tristan is fighting demons from his past, the loss of his family, the guilt and shame. Now he is on a mission to do as much as possible to stop the evil that took away his life as he knew it.
Working undercover, trying to keep his cover, he sees her. Taking her onto the dance floor, Tristan brings Lillian into danger, but also brings her into herself and watches as he gives her a part of her life back that she has missed. Lillian is entranced with how Tristan makes her feel. He gives her strength and brings her to the edge of feeling beautiful.
Can he keep her safe, can she bring him happiness and can they give each other what the other needs?

Let me apologize in advance for the shortness of this review. Ravished was a good story in retrospect, but it should be approached with caution. If you are looking for a hot and spicy romance then this would blow off the charts. From the first interaction this is a combustible lusty novel, and they will literally sweat you out of your socks. Although, if you are looking for a realistic story line with an abundance of hot and steamy romance this may not be your story. Shortly into the story I found myself coming up short with the basic story, and questioning the validity of interactions and scenarios. This makes for one heck of a fantasy, but it is not likely to meet the expectations of those looking for a strong story line. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer Jax~

I read this book before it was even an ARC. And let me tell you, I absolutely loved it! From the first page to the last, the world captures you and won't let you go. Just like the drugs Tristan is trying to stop from hitting the streets. This book is an addiction that won't let you go until the very end of the novel. And by then you don't want it to end. You want more. This is one of those books that's well worth the read, and reread. If you get a chance to read it, you should! It's deliciously addicting.

~~~~~~~~~~Sharlene's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~
A copy of this title was received in exchange for an honest review.
Ravished is a combination of a crime thriller and romance novel. Tristan and Lilli meet at a dance club and immediately there are intense sparks. Both are hurting and both help each other through some of those hurts. Lilli gets drawn into Tristan's undercover world and has to help him solve the case. Tristan is an alpha undercover agent who doesn't want Lilli to get hurt. Most of their time is spent in either the club or in Lilli's apartment . Speaking of locations, I think Tristan and Lilli christen just about every location that is covered in the book and those scenes are very hot. Not much in the way of scenery description but the characters are well developed. There are a few secondary characters that are involved as well but not quite as developed as Tristan and Lilli. The author has definitely done their research on the drug scene and undercover work.
This is not a stand alone and does have a cliffhanger. The second book has not yet been released.
~~~~~~~~~~Amanda's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

A great read that I could not put down! The author did an excellent job of grabbing and holding your attention throughout this read. A romantic suspense that keeps you wanting more, while you're waiting for something to happen. The story of Tristan and Lillian keeps you on your toes and begging for more. Watch out for the cliffhanger, because it will rock you to the core. I can't wait for the second book of the series, because the author sucked me in and I really really want it find out what happens next.
I was given an ARC for my honest review.

~~~~~~~~~~Katheryn's ★★★✰✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~
I have to start out by rating this book at 3 stars. It was pretty intense, at times to intense for me. It does bring to the front about drug problems and how serious they are. It took me awhile to get through it, because it just couldn't hold my interest for long. Tristan and Lillian are a good couple and you can feel the hurt in both of them and I do like they they were brought together, just really had to push myself to finish it. I usually look forward to book 2 or 3 of a series, but I am pretty much done with this one. I am not intending on reading the second part.
~~~~~~~~~~Patricia's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~

This book is about an undercover DEA agent named Tristan who is out for Revenge against the Petrov Family who are supplying deadly drugs to young people. Lillian is a ballet dancer who can't preform any more due to a bad accident breaking and shattering her leg. She knows it was no accident though because she could see it on Marc's face. Well Lillian and Tristan decided to work together to bring the Petrov's down. Tristan is an alpha male who knows he wants Lillian but tries to fight his feelings. The are always having sexual contact in public places which is a little weird. Will they bring down the Petrov's or will the end up getting to involved and Hurt? The book ends in a cliffhanger so you will have too wait to see what happens next.

~~~~~~~~~~Nicole's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Tristen is a DEA cop and finds himself in a club and in need of a quick cover. Who does he pick? Lillian the former ballerina who is traumatized and damaged. Little do they know what this encounter entails. This was a fast paste book and full unknowns. There is a of detail. So much loss and heartache between the two of them. Trying to find and catch the murders. Tristan learns the stakes are a lot higher. Things are a lot more dangerous. Tristan is no longer willing to put Lillian at risk. Will they get the drug cartel min time? We shall find out hopefully next book. You are left with it knowing. I give this a 4 starts rating. Only because I felt some of the wording could have been left out. It seem to repeat a lot. With that being said. I really did enjoy this book and do look forward to the next book to find out what happens. Oh yes! This does leave you on a bit of a cliffhanger.
~~~~~~~~~~Lillian's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~

Tristan is an undercover DEA working to take down a drug cartel and its associates. Lillian is a ballerina that it trying to move forward as she can no longer dance due to her partner's jealousy. She goes to the club to listen and feel the movement of dance even if she can't dance herself. Tristan sees her one night at the club and he is drawn to her. Lillian is not sure about the stranger but her body wants him. She goes back to see him again and to dance with him as he makes her feel special and he understands that she needs him. Tristan becomes so absorbed by her that he puts the undercover op in danger. He thinks that Lillian could be working for the cartel and he is so angry he wants to hurt her. But once he hears her story he decides that she could be part of the op to catch the main man. But he feels torn as he wants her so bad but he doesn't know what she feels. Lillian is afraid to lose him but she wants him to want her not just because of the op. They dance around their relationship and what it could be. Will Tristan choose to be with Lillian or will his job come first. Can Lillian trust Tristan to keep her safe. I did enjoy the story but found that there was too much put onto their story and not enough on the cartel and why they were killing all the girls. I will read the next one as I want to know where they go from here. ARC was provided for an honest review.

~~~~~~~~~~Tasha's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~
In this story we meet Lillian a world famous ballerina that due to a jealous partner high on drugs has her career ended. After months of rehabilitation she goes to a club across the road from her apartment just to hear the music. Unbeknownst to her the club is run by Russian mobsters and a drug haven but people have been dying so enter Drake Fallen an undercover operative he spots Lillian and knows straight away she doesn't belong here..
I loved this book I found the characters to be believable and I cant wait for the next 2 parts of the story
Ravished: The Teplo Trilogy
By Ayden K Morgen
Tristen Riley is a DEA agent undercover, trying to bust a drug ring inside Teplo, a dance club. Lillian Maddox is an ex-ballerina who is looking for a distraction. They meet inside Teplo. Lillian dreams of dancing again and does with Tristen on the dance floor at the club.
The author shows great talent in weaving her story. The secondary characters are even interesting. Jase is Tristen’s partner/boss. Zoe is Tristen’s cousin and Jase’s wife. Zoe is Tristen’s best friend and only family. Ayden, I personally would like a story for Jase and Zoe!
The hot factor between Tristen and Lillian is off the charts! Tristen is the alpha male, but Lillian is not a submissive. She goes toe to toe with Tristen. I, as a reader, enjoyed their battles. It made the sex much steamier.
Lillian is dragged into Jase and Tristen’s investigation of Anton and Paulo Vetrov. This father and son pair are bad news and have been rumored to have dealings with the cartel. Paulo is the son and is a sociopath. Tristen moves in with Lillian who lives across the street from the club to provide protection. She starts going to the club with him to throw off suspicion from Tristen.
This book is a page turner. Rapid fire action starts from page one. Will Tristen develop feelings for Lillian? Will Lillian remain off the Vetrov’s radar? Will Tristen be able to put the Vetrovs out of business and behind bars before they kill again? So many questions to be answered. You must read this book!
Some time needs to be spent raving about the cover of this book, too! Ayden, the guy on the cover is so hot and if this is Tristen, sign me up for undercover work immediately! 5 out of 5 stars—romantic suspense at its best! I can’t wait to read the next book in this trilogy!
This book ends in a cliffhanger and will be continued in book two, “Rhapsody: The Teplo Trilogy #2”.
Reviewed for A Wanton Book Lover Blog
Ravished (the Teplo Files #1) is the first book in a trilogy by Ayden Morgen; it does end in a cliffhanger. The story revolves around “Lilly” Lillian Maddox. Lilly was an upcoming ballerina headlining ballets around the world when it was savaging taken from her by someone she trusted but was involved in drugs. Tristan Riley is an intense under-cover DEA agent driven by revenge working to bring down a local drug lord that is slowing killing off young men and women with his deadly combination drugs. Lilly and Tristan meet in the drug dealer’s club and sparks fly. Lily soon ends up working with Tristan to try and bring the drug lord down.
Tristan is your typical alpha-male. He is cocky, fierce, and protective, especially in regard to Lilly. Lilly is working on becoming strong and self-sustaining, trying to figure out where she belongs in the world without ballet. There is a lot of back-and-forth between the two characters. Sometimes, Tristan can be a bit overbearing. There were lots of hot scenes between Lilly and Tristan because underneath it all, the really did feel a connection between each other. The writing was interesting and the story kept me interested. Ms. Moore’s writing is fluid and engaging; she has a knack for storytelling. I will definitely read the second and third book to the trilogy to see where she takes Lilly and Tristan.
Tristan is a DEA agent haunted by his past and out for vengeance.
Lillian is a woman who's whole life has been taken from her and is facing a new reality.
Thrown together purely by chance, Lillian ends up a possible target for drug manufacturers.
I loved Lillian, she was broken but not a weak heroine. She showed strength and the will to overcome her past. She was just the right balance of broken and determined.
Tristan is broken but hides it well. He blames himself for things that eat away at him daily. He has tunnel vision, wants this job done and inadvertently puts an innocent woman in danger.
Now he has to protect her only he wants more than just to keep her alive.
Tristan and Lillian fight, the struggle against what they want and the unknown. The sparks fly as these two go at each other.
Eventually someone has to give and when they do it's explosive.
Loved Ravished, it introduced me to a new author and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
Tristan is on assignment at Teplo and uses Lillian in order to not blow his cover. He didn't expect the chemistry between them. Lillian is a former ballerina who is unable to dance after an attack that injured her leg. She goes to Teplo because she misses dancing and Tristan brings that back to her. Everything changes with one dance that becomes so much more than either one of them expected. Lillian is brought into his assignment as part of his cover and she is put in danger by doing so. The moments they share on and off the dance floor are sizzling and I loved watching them fall for each other in the midst of the danger.
I give Ravished 4 hearts!
The more I read the more on the edge of my seat I got. It was easy to get wrapped up in the emotional twists and turns of the relationship between two broken people whose lives were both touched by the drug addiction of people in their lives. Tristan and Lillian are thrown together when Tristan cannot resist touching her at club Teplo. Tristan is DEA and Lillian is a former prima ballerina and together they make one reluctant, hot, investigative couple. As their relationship intensifies, so does the investigation into finding the lab at Teplo that is producing and new and highly dangerous drug. How many people's lives will be destroyed and will Tristan and Lillian's relationship continue to grow or will all be lost during this investigation. Warning: The case continues into the next two books.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
His Driving Obsession
A great thrilling, intriguing read with a fast paced storyline. So descriptively written by this wonderful author. The only thing that lets it down is the protracted angst and insecurities between the two main characters Tristan and Lillian which made the book a long read and was not really needed as the storyline was perfect without it! But nevertheless I would highly recommend this as a must read in this the first book of the trilogy.
Can Tristan a DEA agent and Lillian’s all consuming love keep them safe in this fast paced story of the Petrov’s and the drug cartel in Mexico? Will they be able to find the underground drug laboratory in time to stop more deaths of their lethal drugs the Petrov’s are selling? Who is the mysterious blond man at the dangerous club Teplo and what is his end game?
A damaged ballerina (Lillian) and a tourchered DEA agent (Tristan) meet in a club and neither can escape the other.
This is a well written, instant lust to love romance with our lead Tristan making mistake after mistake all in the name of protection. The chemistry is there from the beginning but it takes awhile for the fire to catch.
My favorite characters are Tristan's cousin Zoe and her husband Jason (who happens to be Tristan's boss) these two keep Tristan real. I'm looking forward to reading book 2, just the see if Lillian is going to keep taking Tristan back after he messes up with her again.
Good book
This book is a slow burn. The characters are well developed and the writing is wonderful. It's a cliffhanger for me due to the story continuing in book 2. Tristan, a DEA agent, and Lillian, an ex ballet dancer, have some serious chemistry. Would I recommend? Kinda. I'm on the fence about this one. The book is part of a trilogy and the 3rd book has yet to be released. The 1st and 2nd books came out in 2015.
Undercover agent & retired ballerina
He's an undercover agent trying to locate the lab for a new deadly drug. She's a ballerina who's career has ended way before it should have! How they met and their story starts will have you shaking your head, laughing at their antics and praying that they will just communicate! But beware this is only part 1....I can't wait to read the rest of their story!
Another of those books you may not be able locate on your kindle, as when author's sorted this comes up under A (for A.K. Morgen), although two others for this author comes up under Morgen. Yes, they were all purchased through Amazon.com.au.
An undercover DEA agent hooks up with a previously injured and now recovering ballerina. An unlikely pair, especially on a drug manufacturing investigation.
Mind you, there's more bedroom activity than actual sleuthing.
Love the cover.
The plot is intense. It is not totally a dark romance but it goes in this direction. The emotions are high and the criminal story is very thorough. Tristan is the perfect book-boyfriend and Lillian is no damsel in distress. They are perfect together if Tristan would finally get his stuff together.
Well thought out book
The book was beautifully written and thought out. It has a fantastic storyline through our and leave on a lovely cliff hanger. I love the characters. They weren't all perfect like other books I've read but I loved that they weren't perfect as they seemed more realistic than most I've read ... Can't wait to read book 2
Cliffhanger
This is a teaser aka Cliffhanger, there are massive questions yet to be answered, emotions to acknowledge on one side, most of all solving and getting the results.
Which unfortunately it is not in this one, I cringed, stopped, to clear my feelings.
I was given Ravished to prepare me for a ARC of it's second book Rhapsody, since I review every book I read, I thought it only fair to write about this book.
It is a good storyline, undercover DEA agent Tristian Riley is trying to take down the Vetrov family. The family owns a nightclub, drugs and a string of murders have been linked to the family business.
During one of Tristians nightly rounds at the club, he feels he needs a cover and connects with Lillian Maddox and leads her to the dance floor. Which leads to a dance like no other for Lillian, that night is the beginning of all senses for Tristian and Lillian being thrown out the window. Lillian this beautiful ballerina with a past of her own and trust issues dealing with her injury that wiped away all her dreams to ever dance again becomes Tristians weakness and renders his sight on the assignment.
Tristian is this gorgeous DEA agent with a past that affects the way he takes on his missions, he watches as the list of bodies pile up by the drugs sold in the club, that also can be questioned to some murders. This assignment becomes more than he can fathom when the woman he is falling for becomes involved and the Vetrov family seeks interest in one of Mexico's biggest Cartel members.
Like I said, Ravished has a good storyline and great characters but all that is second to the overpowering sexual chemistry that is between Tristian and Lillian, it is a slow drawed out lust for both characters but once that physical sexual attraction has been satisfied, it seems like its never enough. The sexual attraction becomes the forefront of the storyline, it becomes a obsession as if it is the air they need to breathe.
So here is my final say, Do I want to know if Tristian and Lilllian survive the Vetrov family and the Cartel?
Am I interested to find out if Tristian and the DEA agents take down club owners and everyone involved before anyone else is murdered?
Will Lillian ever dance again and after the assignment is completed will Tristian stay and face his fear of relationships?
I guess I have to read Rhapsody to get the answers to all my questions.
I loved this book. The ending is a cliff hanger which I could definitely do without. This book has romance, sex, danger, hot guys, cartels, drug, and more. I love Tristan and Lillian's characters. Lillian was a prima ballerina until her dreams were crushed in an incident during a show. Tristan is a DEA agent who blames himself for things that happened when he was a child. They meet by chance at a night club named Teplo. Lillian is there to try and forget, Tristan is there working. They had no idea one dance would change the rest of their life. They are both dealing with demons from their past and trying to move on as best they can. They find something in each other that is magnetic. Tristan knows he should get involved with Lillian but he can't help himself. This book was emotional. So many things happen. Tristan is this strong alpha male character. He feels responsible for anyone who is hurt or killed on any case he works. He can remember every person who has ever died on a case he has worked. The heat and passion between Lillian and Tristan is crazy. They both help each other without realizing it. This book was fantastic and I can't wait to read the next one in this trilogy. There were some parts where I almost didn't want to read on because I knew something bad was about to happen. The other characters were great as well. Tristan's cousin Zoe was a fun character. There were times when I was laughing out loud and other times when I wanted to jump in the book and yell at Tristan. I could have done without the cliffhanger ending but I will certainly be keeping my out for when the next book will be released. The book had me drawn in from the beginning and kept me on my toes.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*
Ravished is the first book in The Teplo Trilogy. It is from Lillian and Tristan’s POV.
When you read a book, you bring your knowledge of the world with you. Sometimes it enhances the story. It brings forth emotions you previously felt. Sometimes it distracts from the story. Unfortunately, my knowledge distracted from this story. The undercover was not plausible because of my knowledge and I feel that did not allow me to enjoy the story to the fullest. Believe me; I can suspend reality when I read. Someone with a different background might and probably would enjoy the story more.
Lillian is a great character. She is strong, independent, loyal and lovable. Tristan… I’m still not sure how I feel about him. He can be an a$$, but he can flip on a dime and be a wonderful caring man. He might be too moody for me. This is the first book in the trilogy. I have a feeling he has some redeeming to do. There is quite a bit of sexy time between Lillian and Tristan, which is on the more graphic side. I didn’t mind though. Some of the scenes were quite hot.
Overall, the story is fine. It has good flow to it. It has a nice intensity to it. It has a cliffhanger type ending which one might expect from a trilogy. It doesn’t cause a book hangover. For me this book was a 3 ½ star book, mostly because of my knowledge I tried to leave while reading but couldn’t. You probably enjoy the story more than me.
Honestly, I found this book really hard going. It was a slog for me. I'm a big reader, a book or more a day. This one has taken me nearly 2 weeks!
Now I've finished it, it was just getting going but still has left me a bit flummoxed and kind of empty. I felt for about 85% of the book all I was reading was sex scenes and club scenes. There's very little else to the story in my opinion.
The characters, for me, are kind of dull, which didn't encourage my reading. I'm not enamoured with Tristan at all. Ok, so he's a dirty talking badboyesque DEA officer...he just didn't light up my world.
As for Lillian...yawn! I don't what it is about her but there's definitely something rattling my cage. I just keep on imagining a broken, forlorn raggy doll. Uselss and unkempt. Sad and lonely.
I do however like Jase!
This book just needed more of everything really. There were sex scenes, but it kind of felt like Tristan only knows how to do it one way and while it obviously pleases Lillian, it's not great for a reader!
I thought there would be a bit more tension, a bit more drama, maybe some ooohs and ahhhs....alas, none of that.
This is the first book of a series...not sure I'll be reading book 2 purely because I've got so many books to read this month I'm not sure I can bring myself to spending another 2 weeks dragging myself through it!
4 out of 5 stars
Lillian and Tristan come together in the most unexpected ways, but sometimes what’s meant to be will just find a way of happening. Their relationship starts off with lies and sometimes it’s hard for them to learn to be honest with each other.
Lillian is a ballerina by training. Tristan is the typical alpha male. They would seem like an unlikely match, but the chemistry is strong from their first kiss -- when they were complete strangers.
Because of her past, Lillian doesn’t think she deserves anyone and especially not someone as amazing as Tristan. Tristan thinks Lillian is too good for him and yet he can’t control himself when she’s around.
“This is what you do to me, beautiful. All the time. Every time I look at you, I get hard. And when I touch you?” He shook his head and didn’t finish the thought. “It’s enough. Believe me, it’s enough.”
I love that Tristan calls her Beautiful almost every time he is going to say her name. The confidence that Lillian gains from that is immeasurable.
This story had some back and forth for me. I loved it one minute and hated it the next. I think that Ms Morgen is definitely trying to raise my hackles and she succeeded. I can’t wait to see what happens next with Lillian and Tristan.
