In this sequel to Wallbanger, the second book in the Cocktail series, fan favorites Caroline and Simon negotiate the rollercoaster of their new relationship while house-sitting in San Francisco.

Playing house was never so much fun—or so confusing. With her boss on her honeymoon, Caroline’s working crazy long hours to keep the interior design company running—especially since she’s also the lead designer for the renovation of a gorgeous old hotel on Sausalito. So with her hotshot photographer boyfriend gallivanting all over the world for his job, she and Simon are heavy-duty into “absence makes the heart grow fonder” mode. Neither has any complaints about the great reunion sex, though! Then Simon decides he’s tired of so much travelling, and he’s suddenly home more. A lot more. And wanting Caroline home more, too. Though their friends’ romantic lives provide plenty of welcome distraction, eventually Caroline and Simon have to sort their relationship out. Neither wants “out of sight, out of mind,” but can they create their own happy mid-ground cliché?

Was it as good as Wallbanger? NO! It's nowhere near it!

That's all I have to say. It wasn't as funny as Wallbanger. Actually, it was so far from Wallbanger that I could not believe that the same author wrote both books. I think I would be happier if I never read this sequel.

All the plot felt... old? Like you read it million times. I just missed all those funny moments from Wallbanger which made it something different if not special...

So, another series just turned standalone in my mind.

Alice Clayton is one of those authors that never fails to make me laugh and smile while reading one of her books. Rusty Nailed was no exception.

Simon and Caroline are together. Enjoying their separate but together lives as girlfriend and boyfriend.
I’m Simon’s girlfriend. He was once the Harem Master, and now I’m his girlfriend.

They have a great relationship. Things work between them. Caroline works hard for Jillian’s design firm and Simon is off photographing the world. Simon comes home as often as he can and when he’s there, he rocks her world.

 photo 948e7d62-d4d9-4203-8acb-88020a2ce8d9_zps07785692.jpg

I love the chemistry between the two main characters. They are HOT together. And hilarious. I can’t get enough of the humor in these books. I found my self laughing out loud more than once. They have found a relationship that works for the both of them. It may be a tad bit unconventional, but it works.
“Well, good goddamn, Dr. Phil, color me impressed,” I said, clinking my coffee cup next to his. “So what do we do next? Y’know, as people in a relationship after they’ve resolved a conflict?”

“Pretty sure a blow job should follow this,” he said seriously.

When Simon and Caroline’s work situations both change, it changes the dynamic of their relationship. Getting used to this new normal isn’t easy on Caroline.

Not only do we get Caroline and Simon’s story, but we get a lot of Neil and Sophia, Ryan and Mimi, and some Jillian and Benjamin. And Clive. Of course we get Clive. I love getting all the characters stories in one book. But Simons and Caroline's is my favorite.

 photo 9077180d-46c3-430e-9723-f577fd3e72ab_zpsf6ef7259.jpg

Caroline. I loved her in Wallbanger. But there were moments she got under my skin a little in this one. Simon on the other hand, Simon was pretty perfect. He has all the best qualities- a combination of sexy, sweet, charming, swoony and hilarious. Simon’s growth was great to see. He was able to overcome and move on from some things in his past. And by the end, I loved Caroline again so it was all good.

Although this wasn’t quite as good as Wallbanger for me, it was still a fun and fantastic read. Sometimes, when you strike gold with a book like Wallbanger, it’s hard to top.

If you loved funny reads, I’m sure you will enjoy this as well. Alice Clayton's writing style is fabulous and it’s always great reading about characters you know and love. That was a plus- catching up with Simon, Caroline, Clive and the gang. A sweet and sexy story thats good for some laughs and smiles!

5-petition-to-make-Simon-my-husband-stars 😇🥰

Song for my 😘 Man : You are my Iron Man

This the follow along and second installment of Caroline and Simon's love stroy
In Wallbanger we have had the great pleasure of reading how Wall Banging man and Pink Nighty girl become from Neighbours to Friends and now full on couple 🥰😍

Here we get to see how they are coping up in their relationship, working things out in long distance relationship
And managing things and making time for each other in their busy schedules.

This is the most sweetest book I have ever read mark my word

Also Let's just say It's a modern fairytale ( I love modern fairytale) because even for a fictional character Simon is toooooo
Emphasis on toooooo good to be true

I was literally chanting "damn l love this man "😂 "take my heart It's yours"
Yeah my hopeless romantic tactic knows no bound apparently when it comes to fictional characters 🤭🤭🤭

What I loved most : Both of them are independent, understanding, mature, career-oriented
Caroline's character was realistic unlike Simon's.
She is a really ambitious, climbing her career ladder and straight forward girl.

Okay not gonna elaborate
I love it as you can tell.
Leaving some of my favourite moments from the book 💕💕

Happy Reading xoxo

I looked at him, covered in November rain, his eyes warm.
“I didn’t want you to spend Thanksgiving alone,” he said, shaking off the rain. “And maybe I don’t either.” I burst into tears for the second time in twenty-four hours.
He just picked me up off the couch and settled me into his lap, his North Face getting my PJs soaked. He held me, soothing me, running his hands over my back and making little circles on my shoulders.

This man is a literal Price Charming, he deserves every ounce of love......

"It’s impossible for me to love you more,” I whispered, kissing his forehead."

They have the best gestures I am telling y'all these little gestures I can't even explain how much I am fond of it.......
(Hopeless romantic much😑)

"The unexpected emotions you were hit with when you
saw that face, looked into those eyes, felt those lips. The unexpected reminder
of why you fell in love with this person could hit you so powerfully. And this
was that time."

I feel that somewhere deep in my soul......

Hot and humorous, Rusty Nailed is an enjoyable sequel that had me laughing out loud several times. However, this was also an exhausting read – IMO, there was too much drama and the story seemed to focus more on the side characters than on Simon and Caroline. Long story short, I liked this book but didn’t love it.

description

Simon and Caroline are blissfully happy together. With Caroline working at a design firm and Simon traveling around the world taking photographs, their relationship is outwardly awkward and unconventional but it works for them. However, their work dynamics soon change: Simon cuts back on his jobs so he can stay at home more often and Caroline gets a once-in-a-lifetime designer opportunity from her boss. Add on extra drama from her friends and work and suddenly, Caroline finds it hard to juggle everything on her plate.

As a huge fan of the laugh-out-loud humor and funny one-liners present in Wallbanger, I was super pleased that this book also retained that quality. I also loved getting more on Clive, catching up with the rest of Caroline and Simon’s friends, their hot & explosive chemistry and witty banter.

description

Simply put, Caroline and Simon are perfect together! But as much as I adore this couple, I couldn’t fully love this book. Sequels are always iffy for me because half of the ones I read I find they are completely unnecessary and sadly this was the case with Rusty Nailed. For me, almost all the drama present in the book felt fabricated, like “oh, I need some conflict in the story so I guess I’ll add _______.” Then the one prevalent conflict is just dragged throughout the story and dominates the book until the very end. It’s great to catch up with the side characters but they should just stay on the side, not take up precious Simon and Caroline time. At times Caroline baffled me, especially when Simon started cutting back on his jobs to spend more time with her and she couldn’t accept that, like she actually wants him to go back and work more (what is wrong with you woman???).

Despite the number of problems I had with the book, it was still very enjoyable and I liked it more than I disliked it. Alice Clayton’s writing style is terrific and her ability to make me laugh while reading is a plus in my book. I think if you’re a hardcore fan of book 1, this is a must-read and you’ll probably love getting a Wallbanger fix but if you’re like me – someone who loved the first book but not obsessively so – then it’s also okay if you don’t get to this one. You won’t miss out on anything important.

I loved it!!!This book was as amazing as the first one!It was funny and hot!!Caroline and Simon is one of my favorite couples!!In this book they are trying to find a balance in their relationship and this isn't easy!

This book begins with Caroline and Simmon trying to work things out in their relationship! They have their jobs (who spend a lot of time) and their friends.Their relationship has some ups and downs and they're trying to find a balance to their work scedules. From their friends,Benjamin and Jullian are planning their wedding.Ryan and Mimi are still together. While Sophia and Neil are not together anymore. So as you can see their friends play a big part of this book!I liked that we can see what happened with their friends! It was entertening! But for me always my favorite couple will be Caroline and Simon!

Simon is as sexy and hot as in Wallbanger and we can say a little more ;)Caroline is so funny!!Even though Simon wasn't a guy for relationship, with Caroline he managed to become a great boyfriend! Both of them are so cute!!I really liked and loved them! They are so sensual together and hilarious!!They still have their sexy moments and I can tell that this time was more sexy!!

The sequel to Wallbanger. With Caroline and Simon busy with their own careers, how would the couple cope with their relationship?

Hmmm... maybe it was my mood, maybe it was my post-Javi state of mind or maybe it was just the storyline itself, but it did not work for me at all. I really struggled to keep my eyes open reading this and I couldnt spot any parts that was laugh-worthy.

But I think if there was a character that stood out, that would be Simon, he was such a sweet boyfriend. Also, I was glad a lot of the drama was more focused on their friends than the happy couple. Overall I think if you are looking for a light sexy read, worth a go. Different people different taste and all.

Sorry Folks...

Itty bitty mild spoilers:
Settling in. Not settling. Big difference.
I wish I had better news on this one. Alas, the follow-up to the amazing Wallbanger fell short for me...

This is probably my own fault:

When an author as talented as Alice Clayton publishes a book, I think I hold it to a higher standard than I would for a new author. Is it fair to hold authors to my own arbitrary expectations?

Probably not.

I finished this book several days ago and I've been hesitating on this review. I LOVED Wallbanger; it was a 5 Star read for me and I've recommended it countless times. I adore Alice Clayton; she's lovely and talented. The truth is, I didn't HATE this book, but it wasn't that great either...

I'm going to say the three little words no Book Blogger likes to say: I got bored... I did. I'm not happy about it... The high-points were fantastic, but there was so much that dragged this book down...

The book is probably a 3.5 star read for me, but I'm rounding up to four. It was still enjoyable (even if it failed to meet the hopes I had for it) and fans of the first book will like knowing how Wallbanger & Pink Nightie Girl are faring in their new relationship...

However, all the magic packed into the first book just didn't quite make it into the sequel...

The majority of the conflict was between Sophia & Neil... Are you having a hard time recalling why you should care about characters named Sophia and Neil when this book is supposed to be about Caroline & Simon?

Me too...

“How much trouble would I get in for stealing the cake knife and castrating him?” she asked, two more women hustling by to get away.
“Lots. Can we talk about this without mentioning castration?”
“Doubtful; right now I want his dick in a hot dog bun.”
I went into this book feeling 'meh' about the little side relationships between Caroline's besties and Simon's bros (not my terminology, BTW) so the fact that so much of the plot was devoted to them rather than the MC's was kind of a drag... Sophia broke up with Neil, there's a lot of will-they-or-won't-they, and the remaining two couples suffer the fallout of their friends breaking up, taking sides, and plotting to get them back together.

Caroline Reynolds
aka Pink Nightie Girl
Dirty talk is an art. Do it too often, it becomes routine. Never do it, and you’re missing something. Simon did it just right. He was like a perfect bowl of smutty porridge: just right.
Jillian (Caroline's Boss) ties the knot in this book, and as she takes off on a looooong Honeymoon, she puts Caroline in charge of Jillian Designs. The workload is huge, but so is the opportunity to run a business. Long hours and work stress aren't so hard to juggle when your boyfriend is an in demand photographer who is rarely home... But for better or worse, Simon IS home. Suddenly he's home all the time...

Simon Parker
aka Wallbanger
...he was sophisticated but cool. A man about town, a globetrotter, a secret cat whisperer who would sell his soul for an apple pie. And he was mine.
Simon is in his first real relationship and seems to be struggling to figure out what 'home' is for him. When an invitation to his 10 year high school reunion takes him to his hometown for the first time since his parents died, he begins to shift perspective. He's acting strangely - I say this because we only see things from Caroline's POV so we don't know WTF Simon is going through - he's turning down jobs and trips and is staying home...

A lot...
He's always at home...
Caroline is always at work...
(this is the central problem in THEIR relationship)

There was still a lot to like about this book.
Poor Caroline still talks about her O,
There's still a ton of great humor,
Simon is still completely adorable,
Quick witted dialogue,
The sex is fabulous,
& Clive is awesome...

Clive
I truly was wise beyond my ears
And of course, little Clive stole the show... His exploits and shenanigans provided the catalyst for one of the only real moments of vocalized emotion between the couple...

So there you have it...
If you loved Wallbanger as much as I did, you probably won't be swayed from reading this. Even if I had read poor reviews prior to reading, I probably would have downloaded it anyway. If you do read it, let me know what you think ;)

3.5 stars

So like the first one I'm so stuck between a 3 and a 4. There are a few things that I liked a lot but then there are things that just set off my eye-roll syndrome, so I'm going with 3.5 in this one.

I liked Simon the most in this book. He was trying to settle into the relationship, trying his best in all areas, according to me at least. Whereas most of the times, I liked Caroline enough not to punch her in the face or maybe just blatantly ignore her altogether. I liked her in the start but man, she didn't really seem to be in love. It looked like she just wanted a comfortable relationship where she didn't have to work. She was busy and I get it, you want to work and achieve the best when you're young and dedicated enough to do it but she didn't even realize that she had been ignoring him till about 70% in the book. But there were moments where I liked her as well, but not as prominent. Moreover, they were mostly in the last chapters.

I liked that even though they trusted each other a lot, they realized that their communication was shaky. I also liked how their relationship progressed because it was realistic.

I know the book was supposed to be funny and it was amusing, no doubt, but the funniest thing happened while reading this - So GR decided it would be amazing to give me a belly laugh today because it recommended me Gabriel's Inferno of all things because I liked this one. These books are like polar opposites. And, I really do have a response to that, so there:

Edit: Now they keep recommending me Broken Knight because I read Marriage for One. Would I put myself through that? Hell, no, not today, not ever.

"Rusty Nailed" , is the continuation of Caroline and Simon's story.
The two have been a couple for about a year and are still going strong.
I have to say, I was a little worried before starting this book, because of some of the low ratings it received.
This one is definitely missing "the funny" factor that was in abundance in "Wallbanger", BUT, I really ended up liking this one a lot by the time I finished it.

Things for Caroline and Simon will get a bit crazy as Caroline's boss gets married and goes on a honeymoon that spans several months.
She leaves Caroline in charge of her Design House and the added responsibility is putting a bit of a strain on her as well as the relationship she has with Simon.

Simon will come to terms with the loss of his parents when he goes back to his hometown, which he has not been since he left for college over ten years ago. That trip changes him and it awakens in him, the need to build a future with Caroline.

 photo 07ae983359adfd6d5240128166761c6d_zps682ff6ec.jpg

Throughout the story, Simon was just as sinfully sexy as hell and a pretty damn amazing boyfriend.
I had some issues with Caroline.
She tried to reel in her temper but sometimes I felt she lashed out at Simon for stupid reasons.
I get she was overworked and stressed out but I was not happy with her for most of the story.

Also I wished that this one was as funny as the first but it took a more serious tone, in dealing with Simon's issues with the death of his parents and Caroline's fear of moving too fast in their relationship.
However, the story was very engaging and as I said earlier, Simon was perfection!!
He made this story!
Actually, Simon & CLIVE, made this one a very enjoyable read for me!

I was bracing myself for some pretty hardcore angst, seeing as Ms Clayton gave us some hefty angst in the last redhead book. I was thinking she might do the same here.
Simon definitely acted like the mature person in the relationship, and that helped to keep the angst at a minimum.

 photo fac72c433284c2d0aa9b0df25a18a710_zps42595822.jpg

The one who caused heart ache and for some tears to be shed by myself, was CLIVE!!!
That bad kitty had my heart hurting for a while there!!
But, he turns things around and we also get his thoughts on everything during the Epilogue!!!

Even though this book doesn't have as many funny moments as in "Wallbanger", the story was still a good one, and we get plenty of the "SEXY TIMES" with Mr. Simon Parker!!
So this one is definitely worth reading!!!

3,5 “Clive Stole The Show” Stars!!

description

In this second installment we have the progress of Caroline and Simon’s (and Clive) relationship after their hilariously turbulent beginning.
The search for the big O was succeed and now they’re finally settled and happy.
But eventually their lives and work start to make a dent: Simon spends a lot of time away in work and that will ultimately leave a mark.
And when he decides it’s time to slow down and his work situation changes, will it make everything perfect, or will they realize that distance was actually the thing keeping them together?

Rating: 3,5 Stars.
Storyline: I love Alice Clayton. She always delivers a light, romantic and hilarious story. I loved Wallbanger, it probably is my favorite book of hers. But somehow I struggled with this one. It was… how do I put it without sounding bad? Kind of boring. I found myself wanting to skip some parts just to get to the end. Although it was a good reading, some parts were just plain and dull. Luckily, there was some really funny moments to make up for it.
Writing Style: First person, female POV. Engaging and good writing that will certainly steel a few laughs out of you.
Character Development: I loved Caroline in the first book, and although some moments where I just wanted to shake her head and force some sense into it, I liked her in this one either. Simon? I liked him in the first book, but I definitely LOVED him in this one. He was the perfect boyfriend. We also had some sweet side stories, but the best of this book was, as always, Clive. If any of my cats were like him, I would by them a lot more tuna!!
Steam: Hot.

Caroline & Simon are back with a fine sequel, but this one is a little more serious as it's focused on their careers and what that means for their relationship. It still had some funny moments, but it's more of them getting into the groove of their relationship. There is a nice set of side characters and Clive the cat still rules!

4.5 ‘Oh Simon, how I love you!’ stars

I am a mad fan of Alice Clayton. She manages to write the perfect blend of romance and comedy to give us sensational books as well as fabulous and loveable characters. Wallbanger is an all-time fave of mine and made me fall in instant love with Simon and Caroline, and while I was a little nervous about them getting another book when the last one finished so well, I’m happy to say that Alice didn’t go down the all-too-often used route of unnecessary angst or drama for the sake of another book. Instead, we get to see the natural progression of their relationship - the laughter, the sweet moments, the hotness – OMG, so much hotness!!! – them dealing with every day life, careers, friends, arguments and moving forward, and then more laughs, sweet moments and hotness. WIN!

Simon and Caroline are still crazy in love.

Fucking gorgeous man. And the best part? The way he looked at me. Like I was the prettiest girl in the room.
“Hey, baby.”
The man was a poet.
“Hey.”
I was too.

They are happily living their lives – Simon is still flying all over the world as a photographer, and Caroline is working hard at her friend, Jillian’s interior design company. Their relationship is mostly long distance, but they make do with daily phone calls and lots of sexting, and of course Simon comes home often, and when he does…. DAYUM!

He lifted his head and opened his eyes. Singularly focused, dark, and of one mind-set.
Simon was about to fuck.

This book is full of hotness! Waaaaay more sex than Wallbanger, and OMG, Simon is so freaking sexy!

Dirty talk is an art. Do it too often, it becomes routine. Never do it, and you’re missing something. Simon did it just right. He was like a perfect bowl of smutty porridge: just right.

Think I even noticed that I had a forehead full of sofa? Hell no, I had a Wallbanger kneeling between my legs.

The story follows them through a period of transition of sorts, as Caroline’s career starts to soar right at the same time that Simon starts to realise what he’s looking for in life. And while there is some conflict, it’s minimal, and there is no stupid from either of them. And I must say, I love that Alice Clayton didn’t turn it into a non-communicative drama-fest. There’s stuff going on, the issues are realistic, and I could completely empathise with what both of them were feeling. Yes, there is a little bit of drama, but they deal with it all together rationally and functionally – and in their own style.

“So what do we do next? Y’know, as people in a relationship after they’ve solved a conflict.”
“Pretty sure a blow job should follow this,” he said seriously.

There is a secondary storyline woven into the story featuring their friends (Caroline’s two best friends hooked up with Simon’s two best friends in the last book) and there is romantic drama going on there, and while some of that behaviour was a bit annoying, it was also really funny, and the way it affected the whole group was, again, realistic but hilarious. And the text messages between the group were absolute gold! And, of course, Clive the entitled cat very much makes his presence felt, and I love the way both Simon and Caroline dote over him.

So yeah, while this book isn’t a necessary part of Simon and Caroline’s story – Wallbanger finished off beautifully after all – I loved getting the opportunity to see them living out their HEA. I thought the progression of their relationship was absolutely gorgeous, and I loved every minute of it.

“I don’t want to put things off, even though we haven’t been together a really long time. I don’t want to wait – you never know what can…Look. I adore you, and I want a home. Again. With you.”
That did it. Cue the waterworks.
“You’re killing me, Simon.” I sniffled, tears and nose beginning to run.
“I know. I’m very cute when I’m vulnerable.”

The story is funny, it’s sexy, and it’s beautifully romantic. I loved it! 4.5 stars.

4 More Simon and Caroline Stars.

I didn’t know Rusty Nailed continued Simon and Caroline’s story. I was actually in the mood for something light, funny and cute. I got that.

If you are a fan of Caroline and Simon, this one is for you

I was surprised that Rusty Nailed wasn’t the typical sequel book I usually read. You know when the Heroine and Hero get marry and have lots of babies. If anything the book is kind of realistic.

I really liked the beginning. It was cute. Caroline and Simon are together and they do not have the more normal relationship, but they are madly in love and they make it work. Simon is still the sexy photographer and travels a lot for his shoots. Caroline takes some time off from work and travels with Simon from time to time. I consider this little bit like a montage. It gives me a little treat before the real storyline begins.

Caroline is really stressed out because her boss goes on a long honeymoon and Caroline must manage the practice. Oh and I love Simon throughout the book. He’s so supportive and does whatever he can to make Caroline happy (like a boyfriend should).

I thought I would be annoyed with how busy Caroline got but with Simon being so supportive, I didn’t really get crazy angst or drama. I got mild tension to keep me interested, but there was no hair pulling. Don’t even get me started on Clive, he’s too adorable and I never know how much I could love reading a cat in a book.

I think if you loved Wallbanger and are a major fan of the couple, you won’t be disappointed with this one. It’s just like getting your favorite story, but extended or a really long novella.

Now that Wallbanger(Simon) and Nightie Girl(Caroline) are a couple, we get a more insightful look at how they manage their relationship...and their friends.

I love Simon...he has everything going for him and more. He really is the best boyfriend ever especially for someone who hasn't had a serious relationship.

(Simon and the Apostles at their reunion!)

Caroline got put through the ringer! She took over the business for Jillian while she was on her very long honeymoon and was handling things well but then fell apart over some other issues. I liked what she decided at the end.

The bonus parts of this series is the humor and the sex. AC writes both things very well...so many times, I was laughing or had a smile on my face! And of course, Simon and Caroline are hot...and there is a ton of sex!

What bothered me was that there didn't seem to be any focus in the beginning. The story was just floating along with no build up. I kept thinking some things going to happen but it didn't. That doesn't mean there wasn't any drama...there was. It just didn't have the same impact.

I really enjoyed the growth in Simon and Caroline's relationship but I especially liked the change in Simon. He's really come to grip with some issues and has taken charge of his life.

There's a crazy thing that happens at the end with CLIVE!! Yes, that crazy cat and then we're rewarded with the epilogue being from his POV!

The next book is going to be about a high school friend of Simon's named Viv, who is very intriguing! But mostly I'm looking forward to the novella coming out about more Simon and Caroline called Last Call. (I would love some Simon POV!)

★★★½
Some of the books in Alice Clayton's Cocktail series feature different couples and different storylines, but Rusty Nailed is a direct sequel to the first installment: Wallbanger and continues following lead characters Caroline and Simon. After the hilarity of Wallbanger, this sequel was fairly disappointing in comparison, but the newness of the characters' romance has passed and watching relationships progress can get a bit rocky at times. I love this series and had previously skipped over this sequel but after watching a friend recently meet Caroline and Simon for the first time, I thought it was about time to finish their story. If you are a fan of this series, make sure to include this one in the mix.

My favorite quote:
“...sometimes you have to pretend to be feeling better to actually feel better. It’s why new workout clothes make you feel like you want to work out. I was still waiting for that one to turn out to be true...”

What happens after the happy ending?
I really liked that this book touched upon the realistic aspect of a relationship.
It’s all fine and dandy when you start dating and make it official. But what happens after that?

This was just a great old time. I loved the writing! There’s so much banter and quirkinesses to it all.

And if these books did anything is that they make me want a cat. I think. I don’t even like cats. But this story ended with an epilogue of a cat that was hilarious to follow. And he is as active and as present as the characters.

In book 2 Caroline aka Nightie Girl & Simon Parker aka Wallbanger have been in a relationship for about a year. They are still living in San Francisco, keep their separate apartments, but stay most nights together.

Simon is still travelling all over the world as a freelance photographer. Caroline starts to enjoy travelling some with him to all the exotic locations.

Simon & Caroline are enjoying being a couple, and hanging out with all their friends that are also dating. We get some drama with two of them that are broken up, but for the most part they have a great group of friends.

Two of their closest friends Jillian & Benjamin are getting married. Jillian is also Caroline's boss at Jillian Designs. Jillian informs Caroline she will be in charge of the office while she is away on her honeymoon. Caroline is honored to be chosen, but also a little overwhelmed with all the extra hours she will have to work.

Jillian also asks if Simon & Caroline will house sit at their house on the bay in Sausalito, while they are on their honeymoon. While in this home together, Simon & Caroline's relationship begins to shift into something more serious.

They both realize they love the small seaside town of Sausalito, and could see themselves building a life together there. They like the feeling of belonging to a community, and feel at home there.

We get to know more of Simon's past, and why he left Philadelphia when he was 18, and never looked back. I loved how their relationship evolves, & still just adore Simon! This one wasn't as funny as book one, but I was ok with that. I still loved it! As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed all the baking/sexy time! I would learn to make zucchini bread if Simon would just show up in my kitchen! ;))

Gray Cats photo: Bailey Gray Cloud BAILORANGEBACKGROUND.jpg

I know writing Sequels are difficult and writing an Awesome sequel is frustrating. It can be done, but not always work.

I am a big "Wallbanger" Fan. OMG I laughed so much with that book. Simon and Caroline were the perfect couple. And Clive? That cat has his own fandom! LOL

SO, yes I was looking forward to read "Rusty Nailed". I wanted to Love and adore it. Unfortunately I just like it. I expected, let's just say, More. But the magic of Walbanger Book one wasn't there.

For me it was a surprise I didn't love it as much as I wanted.

I felt the beginning was too slow. Then a lot of things where happening with Simon and Caroline's friend and sometimes felt like their story, was secondary.

The book is Ok. Don't get me wrong. But not what I wanted to read. I am a little sad.

UMMMM... HELLO!!!!!! IS THIS A SERIES?!?! IS THIS FOR REAL?!

Rusty Nailed (Cocktail #2)

Release Date: June 24, 2014

SYNOPSIS–

I am not disappointed or something but I was waiting for something grander ending for Caroline & Simon’s story. I love how it ended, who doesn’t? So cute…
I want to see Simon 5+ years later or something with his family… you know what I mean. #SPOILER

*MC’s Corner*
Note: Spoilers.
• I think it was more than a year since I read Wallbanger; I kinda missed Simon Wallbanger and Caroline. These two are so adorable; it’s like watching my favorite sitcom. It was so refreshing after reading books with soft/hard violence, there’s always a gun involve. (That’s my fault choosing them, now I’m complaining. Ha! *slap myself*)

• I laughed so hard, the jokes or scenes are not even that funny. It just they were in the right place and time, I can’t help myself from not laughing. *thumbs up* (GOSH! I love it when they exchange teat messages!!! *giggle*) I think my jaw and cheeks needs some massage, they’re a bit sore.

• I love love how Alice Clayton plays the words. I love it more when she uses some words that no dictionary will ever define. She also doesn’t add that many characters, I mean she did, but she didn’t explain them, define, or describe them one by one, they just “extras” (like on movies).

• The Gang (Characters)

o Simon aka Wallbanger –he’s a photographer. He a Wallbanger using his hammer. (THAT RHYMES! HA!) Er… He travels alot, he’s a sexy mofo and I like the way he thinks about future. *sigh* I’m totally looking forward into that and it it didn’t (I think Alice Clayton should make a novella of it, *nod*)

o Caroline –he’s a peculiar girl. Oh wait… she’s also an interior designer. She pissed me off everytime she talks to herself, I don’t understand her, and she’s like PMSing everyday. UGH! There are times In wish they just it up (and get Simon for myself… wahaha).

o Clive –he’s a pussy. NOT VAJAYJAY okay? He’s Caroline precious cat. And I am not spoiling anything about him. Just read it, he’s got some adventure. #slut

o Mimi, Sophia, Ryan &Neil –I am just to add the four of them. Bleh. These guys are the icing and topping on the cake. They made the book more enjoyable. (The two girls are Caroline’s BFFs and the two guys are Wallbanger’s BFFs) Sophia and Neil ARE Cray Cray. I think they should just work it out and make babies.

• I am excited for the next… a tattoed girl.. then the blurb… asdfghjkl WANT WANT WANT!

It’s impossible for me to hang up on you since we’re texting, but know that I am
