Renewing Hope

Rate this book
The journey for Kate Hill and Nathan Fisher continues…

Kate Hill hopes to leave her English past behind her in order to be accepted by the Amish of West Grove, and marry her love, Nathan Fisher. But as she struggles to win over her Amish neighbors, she discovers that the sordid past of the Bishop’s son has caused a rift in the small community. Shunned for living the English lifestyle, Benjamin Yoder finds a friend in Kate, and wonders if there is hope in returning to the Amish life he misses.

Nathan Fisher wants his old friend, Benjamin, back with the Amish for many reasons- by forgiving Benjamin his English transgressions; surely the community will accept his Kate. With the Bishop’s steadfast obstinacy towards the English blight on his flock, it will be up to Kate and Nathan to heal their community by bringing home the son of the Bishop and renewing hope in the Amish through forgiveness.

Loved it, loved it, loved it! This was just as wonderful as the first one. Nathan and Kate are so amazing together! It wasn't totally smooth sailing, but they stuck together and worked for their hea. This book was a delight and I want more of Kate and Nathan- another book about the two of them would be amazing!

So this is the follow up and completion of the story of Kate and Nathan from the first book Healing Faith.

Kate has decided to go through the rituals needed become apart of the Amish community and to marry Nathan. As she goes thru the things she must do to become Amish she faces opposition from some in the community and especially the Bishop named Samuel. Her past also comes back into play and brings problems as well. It still has sweet moments and sensual moments as well which add to a great story.

Nathan's best friend Benjamin, who is Bishop Samuel's son, is also featured and struggles with coming back into the community. He has dealt with some bad choices and he struggles with how to deal with his past but to find peace with it and have a future.

This really wraps up Kate and Nathan's story while setting up the story for Benjamin's book.

This was a really great read and really pleasant surprise. It was pretty low angst and I definitely recommend.

3 stars. Good but not great.

Still could have been 100 pages shorter. This is not really a stand alone, and it is highly adviseable to read the first book before this one.

Not going into a long review here. It is a sweet romance, with little conflict and all is resolved pretty easily after the fire and then there is no more conflict to be had for the rest of the book.

I skimmed the last 30% because I was not interested in reading about the details of everyday chores.

This book does have sex (finally) and it was done tasefully well with some mild spice.

A good book if you're looking for some light reading.

I will not be continuing to the third book.

Hero-virgin - first only and last with heroine
Heroine virgin
Violence-Mild
OM/OW- Sean makes an appearance to try again to kidnapp Kate. But fails.
Rape-No
Adultery-No
Sex-yes (see above)
Marriage/baby-yes
HEA/ILY-yes

My review:

This was a very low angst low drama follow up with the first book in this series. I enjoy books like this sometimes because I can just relax and enjoy it, knowing none of my triggers will be hit on - not even remotely close either.

I especially enjoyed this installment because we finally get quite a bit of steam! The way the sex scenes were written were very sensual and full of love. Some were very detailed and some were fade to black, but you know without a doubt that this couple loves and adores each other.

I also enjoyed getting more insight into her Amish sisters and their marriages and beyond. We get more of Ben's story too and it has me really wanting to read his book. I feel bad for him and how everything happened, but he is a good guy and deserves an HEA :D

Their story began with healing, and continues with renewing. Renewing, faith, renewing love, renewing hope. Nathan and Katherine set out to show the world that they can survive, they can persevere, that they can love even in the midst of trouble. In the center of their Amish world is the determination to prove to others, that the Amish way is Kate's way. In Renewing hope, Katherine continues to face many roadblocks of doubt, uncertainties and even resistance from members of the community. She works hard to stay true to herself and her love for Nathan, while at the same time exhibiting the characteristics of a true Amish woman. That step into true and total humility is a tough one, but she truly allows her heart to take lead in every big decision that has to be made. These are decisions that truly set the direction of Nathan and Katherine's lives together. In this novel we begin to fall in love with new characters, as this may mean that more books are on the way.
Jennyfer Browne creates another stunning love story of two very different people, finding love even in the huge obstacles that stand in their way. Close your eyes just for a moment when reading and her writing will immediately give the reader a vivid visualization of huge farm homes, corn fields, bountiful gardens, baking with scents of yummy goodness, children playing, and horses grazing. All are themes of symbolism and represent something important in the Amish way of life. I can't say enough about Jennyfer Browne's words and their transformation on paper. She takes you to a world that you want to see with your own eyes, that you want to experience. She takes you to Nathan and Kate's world. Where new beginnings are on the horizon, in their world.

Jennyfer Browne delivers in this second installment of her In Your World trilogy.

I loved it.

But I knew she would. There wasn't a doubt in my mind because this is an author who loves her characters and it shows in every word she writes.

Ms.Browne's writing is so palpable, so visual, I can see the characters, feel their emotions, and hear their voices. This combined with a solid romantic, low drama story line...what's not to love?

Renewing Hope picks up right where Healing Faith left off with Nathan and Kate returning to their homes in Iowa after their harrowing ordeal. They begin their lives together both taking steps for embracing "The Way" as well as their continuing discovery of their strength in each others love.

I really loved the beauty of their romance and their faith in that love. The story was packed full of wonderful characterizations and some great secondary characters, namely Benjamin who I am pleased to see is the focus of book 3 in the trilogy, Finding Love. Definitely looking forward to his story.

The In Your World trilogy is a must read for the romantics who just love a good story line with low drama. You will be smiling with all the emotions that envelop you!

5 Wonderful Stars!
Didn't think this one could be as good as the first one, but it was! In this book you get to see Kate's spirit, determination, her desperate desire for acceptance and her thirst for knowledge so that she can achieve hers and Nathan's goals. Again we get to be immersed in this awesome family who has ups and downs but just make it all work out. There are actions packed scenes and and emotion packed scenes and I loved them all. I loved getting to know Benjamin and want to read more about him but the center stage in this book was Kate and Nathan and their determination and faith. The one thing I was hoping for in this book was that I would hear more about Stacy but this book was still awesome with what all we did have! I am really looking forwards to reading more!

Renewing Hope is an EXCELLENT continuation of Katherine and Nathan as they journey to find their Place in their world. Things from Kate's past and distrust from some in the community make for road blocks that will test them ,yet ultimately bring them to a future they will cherish. I recommend Healing faith then Renewing Hope and look for Finding Love coming Summer of 2014.

The characters are completely devoted to each other. Nice ending
It was a bit too slow paced for me, and probably could have been condensed into the first book.

Renewing Hope is the second book of. the In Your World series written by Jennifer Browne. This hook picks up where the first one ends and reacquaints the readers with the background needed to remember the first book. The characters are still realistic and a few new ones have been added which adds more of a plot to this storyline. Again I have to say skittle to much emphasis on sexual content. That is my opinion and I kNow other readers will enjoy it.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. All opinions and statements are strictly my own. I have rated this book with five stars because it has a great storyline and touches on several real life problems such as physical abuse and stalking.

I am a little disappointed that the final book is unable to be found so I can fiNish the series.

This is book two in a three book arc. It does not end with a cliffhanger. Book Three will continue with Benjamin, who I really came to love in this book.

While I tagged Renewing Hope as "inspirational," I want to let everyone know there are some steamy scenes. I firmly believe that inspirational can have elements of heat. And the heated scenes are very well done, within marriage even! I think this is one of the sweetest, yet hottest, wedding nights I've ever read.

Ms. Browne has done her Amish research. Seeing the way these people live, day to day, joyful in the Lord, was a revelation. Being Amish doesn't mean they don't have faults, and those are shown by selfish characters, characters who have a hard time forgiving, characters who only see black and white. So, humans!

Magnus, the horse, totally steals the show. He deserves every handful of oats that he gets.

My editor brain couldn't quite be turned off. I would have deleted a few bits, and would have made sure that the repetitive use of words was at a minimum. But still, this was a very enjoyable read and I look forward to reading Benjamin's story! I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy reading a warm, fulfilling romance.

*Thank you, Jennyfer Browne, for the opportunity to read Renewing Hope

Thank goodness for bad weather! It allowed me to read the first two books in the series non-stop.

"Renewing Hope" continued the story of Kate & Nathan. It was beautifully told, a gentle flowing story of love, faith and family. One thing I found so refreshing was the fact there were no long drawn out misunderstanding, my pet hate!

I have a fascination in all things Amish and I believe Ms Browne researched the faith and daily life thoroughly. With some religious books authors sometimes use their books as a means to preach and convert others. I never once felt this with the In Your World series. There was a nice balance between the Amish faith and quotes from the bible. It gave an insight into the lives of the Amish people and what they believe in.

Ms Browne got this book right on all levels. The intimacy scenes were well done giving just enough information without going overboard. I think anymore detail in this respect would have ruined the story as would having nothing at all. I believe the inclusion of intimacy helped to show the love and tenderness between these two people. For people who don't like reading sex scenes they needn't fear, they are tastefully done and quite beautiful at times.

I highly recommend this book and see myself rereading both books in the near future.

Adri’s Review:
In the second book we continue with Nathan and Kate’s journey to finding faith and hope. While Kate is ready to put the past behind her, and begin her life as an Amish woman, there are others that aren’t so willing to help her do that.

Kate’s continued strength is amazing, Jennyfer Browne has written a character that is willing to do anything and everything. She is strong and loving. Yet gentle and easily hurt. I think one of my favorite things about the character is how she helps Nathan heal from the loss of his family and helps him move forward. I also enjoy how she stands up to those who are working against her and fights for what she loves.

This book is also quite steamy in a non-graphic way. Once Kate and Nathan have married, it is so natural to have their relationship ease into a common marriage and all the previous sexual tension finally released.

I think one of the things I enjoyed most at the end of this book, was not to see it end, but to know that we will be getting a third book in the installment and it will be Benjamin’s story.

Anyway… Happy Reading… Adri

What an amazing journey! The relationship and love between Katherine and Nathan leave you feeling breathless. You see their struggles and they attempt to show the community that Katherine belongs both in the community and as his wife. An old threat, abusive ex boyfriend Sean shows up creating a slight amount of drama. However, their love and faith shine through making it possible for them to get through anything together. Enjoyed seeing what their married life is like and the family they are beginning to create. Can't wait to see what is in store for the new Bishop Yodder in the third book coming out next year. It will definitely be on my must purchase list.

Book 2 of this 3 book series continues the tender love story of Kate and Nathan as they become a couple in the Amish community. Although the pace is a little slower than book 1, it is still a must read because the characters and depiction of the hard reality of life on an Iowa farm without modern conveniences help you to appreciate what people will do in faith and love. Kate is completing her studies to become part of the Amish community. She is challenged at every turn until a tragic event changes the minds and hearts of those who doubted her sincerity. Thankfully each book can stand alone. I hate cliffhanger.

Jennyfer Browne does it again! In her second book in the series of "In Your World", Kate & Nathan over come obstacles that many people today would walk away from and give up, but a bond such as theirs is true, pure, and makes them more determined than ever that they are destined to be together. The reader again roots for the young couple on the edge of their seat, as Bishop Yoder tries to dissuade the community of the outsider's wanton intentions. A beautifully written story for all ages. I can't wait for summer 2014 when the next book is available.

First, let me say that the way Ms Browne decided to break up this story was crucial to how it flowed. As one story, it really does build well. But, broken into separate books, it worked almost even better.

The expansion of the focus to include Benjamin and his journey back to West Grove really opens up the story. It makes about more than just the romantic love between Nathan and Kate and Kate's journey for acceptance. It expands it to include love of family and community and every person's journey for acceptance.

I loved this book as much as the one that preceded it. The themes in this series--faith, hope, love, and perseverance--really spoke to me. Ms. Browne's writing is beautifully descriptive. A few of the scenes stuck with me for days after I read them. She never fails to hit just the right tone. If you're looking for a well-written story that grabs your heart and imagination, add Renewing Hope (and the previous book, Healing Faith) to your bookshelf today!

I was so excited for the release of this book, and I was NOT disappointed!!! Kate and Nathan have stolen my heart from the first paragraph of the first book, and they just keep right on taking! Only this time they had some company, Benjamin and that huge black horse got in on the theft this time! Jennyfer Brown weaves a beautiful story, it is heartwarming and sweet, with just the right amount of spice. I can't wait to read book three in this series. Definitely 5 big stars!!!!

Just a great read. 'In your world' became part of my world...it actually made me want to get a horse...big and black!!

I've reviewed part one of this series. It explains why I love this book and why Ms Browne has made a believer out of me.

Warm familial surroundings. Love in it's truest form. Beautiful and everlasting.

For a bright enlighten look at how people from 'other worlds' live but makes you ponder upon your own.

Life simplified is the richest way to live.

Until about shortly after the half of this part, it is a really very good and a compelling story. But from the moment where the barn burns and after the wedding, it was getting boring to read and I have partially skipped some/many pages because everything was just described more in long-winded detail. But the first part of this book and up to half this one, it was really totally worth reading and I loved Nathan :)

A great conclusion to Nathan and Kate's story! Really enjoyed! My only only complaint is that even tho I know the author was trying to stay away from the common English descriptions that would make the story feel anything other than Amish centric, I still wanted her marriage dress described. What was the color? I lost the image of what Nathan and Kate looked like while reading.

This book was more mellow than the first. Nathan is such a wonderful man, and I am glad how it all ended. I wonder, is there more? I love to know what happens to the Bishop, I sense a story there.

Sadly, the content of this book is not any better than the cover art. (Actually, the cover wins for worse of the two.) Have to agree with others that characters here are one-dimensional. (But hey- at least this bookart/cover doesn't have an apple on the front!!)
