The Good
Excellent series and excellent chemistry. Book 2 Compulsive Fascination lives up to the name and if I didn't know any better I would think the author is trying to get me addicted to this series. I can only say that this is my personal preference and how I like my books from time to time. Calum oozes sex, sex, sex, and more f***ing sex, he is that hot. His demeanor, the way he handled Livana, it was a turn on for me. Livana was not your typical weak female character but she does get weak around Calum. The author build a kind of hyped/ chemistry in book 1 Addictive Lunacy, that I had such a release in book 2. If you are a fan of this author I wouldn't only suggest reading this book but her other books because I have yet to be disappointed.
The Bad
I really have nothing bad to say about this book apart from the end.
Overall
Overall, I and you will get lost in this book, story and Calum and Liv's story. I promise you will be entertained and tickled in all the right places can't wait to read more.

In the second instalment of the "Compulsions" series, the main couple that is presented to us are Calum and Livana. We briefly met them in the 1st book, but here 4 months have passed and they are already in a relationship. The passion between them is insane and both of them are trying to commit to each other. Livana is still hesitant to fully trust Calum, because she was burned in her previous relationship. She is slowly falling in love with him and her fears diminish. Soon enough, she realizes that she loves him and in some situations her fears are emerging, even though she overcomes them.
Calum is literally captivated by her. He wants her all day, every day. He gets extremely jealous of her previous one-night stands that are popping up in every corner. This creates a lot of misunderstanding between them, adding the fact that his ex-fiancee wants him back. There is quite a lot of miscommunication with all of those factors surrounding them.
The sex scenes...OMG...those scenes 🥵. They were really hot, extremely kinky and full of smut. No wonder Livana can't resist Calum ��️🌶️🌶️. I was really there for all of that spice 🔥.
They are going really well, until troubles get in the way and we are left with a major cliffhanger at the end of the book.
I can't wait for the next book to come out, to find out what will happen to them...

STOP!! If you haven’t read Addictive Lunacy, do it now! You have to before you read this review or read Compulsive Fascinations. This is book 2 of the series. N. Isabelle Blanco, you have done it again! Another amazing 5 star read that is smoking hot! Be prepared, this is a cliffy, but I promise only great things! I’m not going to lie; I wanted to hit N. Isabelle Blanco when I finished this book. Calum had my heart from book 1, but OMG! Why wouldn’t any woman in their right mind want this man?
So who hasn’t had their heart shattered? Why would you want to trust anyone after that? I can totally relate. After your heart has been broken, it takes a lot to try and build that trust all over again. This is what Livana faces in this book.
Calum Alexander, in a suit, in jeans, it doesn’t matter. He exudes sex, masculinity, dominance and intensity. But does Livana want to be dominated? It’s usually a wink, or a smile that just makes you want to drop your panties for the royal hotness, with Calum, it’s those Hazel eyes that give you that intense stare. You will melt into that stare…
Will Liv be able to keep her heart guarded from being broken and shattered again? Will Calum’s own insecurities make Liv realize what she truly wants? What is it that she wants? Will she allow herself to love again or is this really something she’s only never felt before? Will the attraction be enough for them to realize their true feelings? Thank god for friends that are always there to listen and be a good shoulder to lean on.
I want a piece of Calum Alexander. Like I said before, who doesn’t or wouldn’t? This book had my emotions and hormones all over the place. I love how I can go from zero to sixty in one scene. N. Isabelle Blanco always does a fantastic job with her sex scenes. She has to lead a very kinky life. She fulfills my erotic fantasies in her reads. You will want to have time to finish this book as soon as possible, because you have to know what’s going to happen. This is a cliffy which broke my heart the way it ended, but I know that Nyddi will deliver only wonderful things as always, so I cannot wait for book 3 to come. Until then, Enjoy Calum & Livana’s continuation of their story… I know I did…

If you've read Addictive Lunacy, you know a bit about the early stories of Calum and Liv. Well, more so Calum's story, but enough about that.
This installment of the series picks up with Liv and Calum in a relationship, one that's still somewhat new with both of them learning how to navigate the emotional side, because trust, they have no issues with the physical side of their relationship. The biggest obstacle to Liv and Calum is trust; or more explicitly, a lack of trust. We learn early on what happened with Liv that has made her so distrustful when it comes to relationships and why she prefers the one-night stand lifestyle.
That's not to say that Calum is perfect, because goodness knows there will be times in this story where you just get the urge to high five him. In the face. As hard as you can. But geez, turn the page and before you know it you're all sucked back in feeling sympathy for these two.
As if Liv's and Calum's story isn't snowballing its way toward a giant clusterfuck, you get the side story of Dorian and Demi (and that is equally jacked up, but for different reasons).
I will leave you with this: this ends a cliffhanger. A big one. A giant, epic,.colossal cliffhanger where you might feel inclined to toss whatever medium you read this story on across the room. Don't. Unless it's under warranty, but you still might find it awkward having to explain why your ereader (if that's what you're using) is in eleventeen-two pieces.

Make sure you read Addictive Lunacy before you read this. Although a short read I thought the author did a wonderful job with this story.
After her heart was broken Liv finds it hard to trust. Due to a lack of trust her relationship with Calum struggles. Calum is deliciously hot. Can these two overcome their issues?
This is a brilliant read but I so wanted to throw my kindle after reading that ending. What a cliffhanger!! Need next book now!!

This book picks up about four months after Addictive Lunacy left off and is told from Liv's POV. I was hoping this book was going to be about one of the side characters that we met in the first book, but it wasn't. It's about Calum and Liv's blossoming relationship and the personal struggles they have to work through to be together. On this struggling path there is a lot of sex! A lot of really, REALLY good sex! I mean... WOW! Mega orgasmic fucking that will not disappoint.
Im going to start with Calum because I LOVE him! He is a beast in the bed and loves his woman. He's patient and caring and did I mention a sex god?
He is so patient with Livana and her immature craziness. But the only issue I had with Calum was his jealousness. Dude! Get a grip! *batting eyelashes* But that's totally hot how he gets territorial.
Well, with that being said... he really needs to practice what he preaches.
Moving onto Liv. Prepare yourself for a rant. I don't think I've ever hated a character so much while reading a book. I cannot stand Livana and she actually ruined this story for me. She is the sole reason for the low rating. I hate her so much that I don't even know where to start.
There WILL be some spoilers in this part so approach with caution. Alright, here it comes. A little history first... Liv had a boyfriend four years ago who she caught cheating on her with her BFF. I totally agree with Liv, that is some fucked up shit and it will fuck with your head for a very long time. I totally get it and those feelings are completely valid. Liv then went on a one night stand spree because she can't trust men and doesn't want to get attached or fall in love with anyone. So Liv will soon experience the ghosts of one-night stands past. Do I think she's a total whore? Fuck no! I applaud her for that. But if you're unable to embrace it and own your mistakes, then that's when I have a problem.
Another thing about Liv is her inability to think rationally. She is an immature psychotic nut job. I've heard all the crazy ones are really good in bed. That probably explains why the sex scenes are so juicy because Liv is a little on the crazy side. Okay, okay... let me explain myself a little better. Liv has an epiphany and then completely ignores it? Epiphany! Epiphanies everywhere! For example she understands she is being irrational. She talks about it and agrees with it, takes note of it and then ignores it and goes back to being an irrational twat.
Another thing that dry humped my last nerve with Liv was that she would get jealous of the air Calum breathed or the water that got to touch his body OR AN OLD PICTURE FROM HIS PAST!! Hello Face, nice to meet you. I'd like to introduce you to my friend Palm!
Liv is getting jealous for no damn reason. She is getting "hurt" because Calum has an old photo (not on the wall but out of sight and put away) of him and his ex-fiancé? Bull shit! First of all, that is part of his history and its completely normal to hold onto things like that. Second, they were put away and not even out in the open. Third! And this is a big one... don't just freak out and not tell him why you're getting the fuck outta Dodge or ask him about them! Really? Okay, listen. Our past helps mold us into the people we are today. Our past can make us stronger and smarter. You don't have to like your past, but you need to recognize it and try to understand it. At least TALK ABOUT IT and not run out of the room every time someone looks at your man sideways and assume he's fucking someone else.
Liv's heart is broken only because of her own immaturity.
Im almost done beating up Liv, so one more... Her and Calum talking to Liv's father. When in the fuck did this become a concern? Liv only started thinking about it because her friend mentioned that she couldn't tell her dad. Because the guy she is fucking is her dads friend. We do not live in the 1700's. You do not have to have your fathers permission to be courted by a gentleman. Welcome to the 21st Century Liv. You are also an adult and don't need daddy's permission to have a boyfriend. If your dad loves you, as I suspect he does, then I'm sure he will support your decision to date anyone you like.
Alrighty, I'm done kicking Liv's ass for now.
Then finally, I feel that I must mention an issue I have with both Calum and Liv. Neither one of them talk to each other. Sure, words are exchanged but not on an intellectual level. It's more of a Neanderthal type of communication. I'm paraphrasing here, but: Calum - "Girl, you look upset. Me fuck you now, make happy". Then there is Liv who doesn't say anything and just has this type of reaction...
See what I mean? Now, I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed every single one of these scenes. I just needed some adult rationalization behind it.
Overall, it was just ok for me. The writing was great, the story was better this time around, all the characters were fantastic except for Liv and the sex was nuclear HAWT. It did end with a pretty bad cliffy though and it does make me want to read the next one. But I'll say that Liv has some major growing up to do and Calum and Liv together need to talk more. If not... I'm not sure I'll be able to read it. Will I read this author again? Absofuckinglutly!

Hating the Rules by N. Isabelle Blanco is book two in the Compulsions Series. This continues the story of Calum Alexander and Livana Payne 'Liv'. Their story started in the First book 'Breaking the Rules'. So, you will need to start that book before reading this one. This book has Liv and Calum in their new relationship learning each other but of course nothing is smoothing sailing which we are left with a cliffhanger setting us up for more. Enjoyed and can't wait to read more soon I hope.

A simply delicious read. Compulsive Fascinations continues where the novella Addictive Lunacy leaves the reader begging for more of Livana and Calum’s story.
The novel is fast paced and character driven. The story is told from Livana’s point of view. She is open with the reader but her trust issues block her ability to be open with Calum. She needs to let go of her past heartache in order to move forward in a healthy way. Will she? Can Livana learn to trust again? The chemistry between Livana and Calum is unbelievable. Sparks fly when they are together. The author has taken their relationship to new and exciting heights.
The supporting characters are equally as entertaining. In particular, Livana’s friend and secretary Mikael is delightful. He adds comic relief and sage advice when needed.
And the cliffhanger…the reader will want to turn the page and read on…their journey is not over…can’t wait for the sequel.

This book is a sequel to Addictive Lunacy by N. Isabelle Blanco. I was so excited for her to ask me to review this book. I couldn’t wait for it. I need more from the last one.
Calum is back in all his hotness. He is sweet but yet has just enough jealous and controlling tendencies to make my panties hot. OMG the sex he as with Livana is hot.
We get more of the relationship these two are trying to have. It is still nerve racking for Livana. I think she needs to chill out and take everything this man can give her. I know I would.
This book is leaving me wanting more. I can’t wait till the third book comes out. Again this is a short read just like the first one but full of pure greatness.
I am giving this book 5 hearts. LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT.

Holy sh*t!!!!!!!!
I ABSOLUTELY adored this book. Within reading the first paragraph of this story, my heart started galloping and I was so excited. Calum not only had great looks and good brains, but his name was even amazing. I'm tired of reading books where the male characters' names are basic, like Paul, Eddie, Jon, Joey, etc. Calum is a name I've only seen in one other book. Calum was sexy right from the beginning. I loved the pushy attitude and the no-nonsense thing he had going on. Although there wasn't much personal bonding in the story between the two main characters. Lots of steamy great sex, but I would have liked to see a bit more bonding and affection shared between the two. Livana (another unique name!!!) was a very different character. I enjoyed her, but a lot of the things she did were cliché and I found myself wishing she would grow a backbone. I loved the plot, although at times I was wondering what the point of the story even was. I know the story was about how they were struggling with their relationship, and the battles Liv faced with her issues of commitment, but it seemed like their work/social lives were just randomly thrown in. There wasn't much talk about childhoods, favourite foods, animals, colours, or anything that would help the reader form any sort of bond with the characters. The story focused more on sex, sex, sex, Calum and his architecture, sex, sex, sex, Livana and her commitment issues, sex, fighting, sex, sex, Ang and Demi, sex, Calum getting jealous, sex, random ex-boyfriend/fiancé/lovers, sex, Liv getting jealous, sex, Mikael, sex, sex, running from problems, sex, sex, random work things thrown in, sex, sex, discussion of fathers who we never learned much about, sex, etc. With that said, I still really liked the book. There's something about domineering, pushy, strong men who know what they want that makes me happy. I just wished Liv wouldn't talk about how strong she's become since she left Corey, but then she's putty in Calum's hands the minute he so much as breathes in her direction. I felt like pulling her aside myself and telling her to grow a pair and stop laying herself down at Calum's feet so he could do as he pleased. I would have liked to see Liv outside of her Calum-bubble more, maybe hanging out with her friends and maybe her father that we never learn anything about. Calum's brother Lucas would have been nice to learn more about, too, seeing as he seemed to influence Calum strongly at times. But all in all, I still am very fond of this book and I'd read it again. If I get the chance to read the next instalment, I'll be very happy, as I'm left wondering what happened.

I ABSOLUTELY adored this book. Within reading the first paragraph of this story, my heart started galloping and I was so excited. Calum not only had great looks and good brains, but his name was even amazing. I'm tired of reading books where the male characters' names are basic, like Paul, Eddie, Jon, Joey, etc. Calum is a name I've only seen in one other book. Calum was sexy right from the beginning. I loved the pushy attitude and the no-nonsense thing he had going on. Although there wasn't much personal bonding in the story between the two main characters. Lots of steamy great sex, but I would have liked to see a bit more bonding and affection shared between the two. Livana (another unique name!!!) was a very different character. Their love story have progressed and feelings are getting involved, lines are blurring, and people from the past are threatening their relationship.
These two are both strong will and set in their own ways so the power struggle between them is a strong one. Calum wants to dominate and Livana doesn't want to submit and be vulnerable.
The first installment of this story was told from Calum's POV, this one is from Livana's. I have to say that while I enjoy Liv's I prefer Calum's. We got to see that while Livana is a beautiful woman with a bright future ahead of her, she's incredibly insecure on the inside. I understood clearly where some of her insecurities come from, but at some point you have to stop think and analyze the situation in front of you before you act like a spoiled five year old.
Calum is hot alpha male through and through, and while I wasn't in agreement with some of his decisions (specially at the end, bad boy Calum!) I have to say this man is pure hotness. I loved his dirty mouth and his commanding attitude.
If you've read other books by Isabel you know this lady knows how to write a scorching sex scene, she's a master at this and she does not disappoint in this installment.
We see some of the characters from other books and we also get to know a bit more of Mikel (love him) who adds a little flair and a lot of flavor to this book.
I recommend you read the first book (which is currently free on Amazon) so you can fully understand the story but I guarantee you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Ahhhhhh this series is killing me!! In a good way that is.
In this installment of the Compulsions series we delve a bit deeper and progress further into Liv and Calum's newly formed relationship. One that they are both realizing and figuring out as they go along. The emotions in this book are guttural and raw. The feelings between these two go from beautiful to destructive to downright volcanic. The sexual attraction again is off the charts but so is the emotional need that these two share with each other. The lust, the obsession, the jealously and the deepest love all come into play with these two. It is quite a rollercoaster. You will get frustrated with Liv and want to punch Calum, and then in one swift turn you will be compelled to feel nothing but sympathy for both of them and a strong desire to see them happy with each other. My heart was utterly broken at the end of this book. The angst in this story will make you want to hug a tub of ice cream and cry into your pillow.
On a more happy note we still get doses of Blanco's humor in the form of the new love of my life Mikael, Liv's homosexual best friend who I absolutley adore. He is the friend that will let you cry on his shoulder and the one who will lighten your heart with his hysterical banter and wit.
The ending of this book will have you reeling and I cannot wait to see what will happen in book 3!

First, I need to say that I usually don’t write reviews but these two books have got me so frustrated that arghh I need some outlet. Furthermore, there a lot of positive reviews that made me read these two books and I feel cheated.
The story is empty : I mean a part from a lot of hot sex, nothing happens.
There is no actions, no dialogues.
There is a lot of internal thinking, where the h expresses her doubts, insecurities, and rehash her poor love experience and how distraught she is.
Can you imagine, she is 21 years old and she is still traumatized from her first and only boyfriend of four years ago : that means she met him at 17 years ago and from that moment, she decided that it is better to go on with one nightstands and be a bitch than risk her heart......Duh
The H is not really better : his is supposed to be a brilliant 32 years old Ceo but acts like a teenager caveman : he touches you I am jealous let’s have sex and ...done. No communication, nothing.
And last but not least, the second book ends on. Cliffhanger and the book has been written since 3 years. It was announced for end of 2017. So at least, my advice will be wait for the third and final installment.

Calum Alexander and Livana Payne's story continues in a fresh, fun, and flirty fashion with obstacles that continue to test their relationship.
While book 1 was told from Calum's point of view, this story was told by Liv...a nice change. Though I still suggest an alternating POV between both main characters. Overall, it was a sexy, indulgent, and intriguing read. I can't wait to hear how Cal and Liv's steamy story ends in book 3.

This was book 2 in the Compulsion Series. In the first book we got Callum's POV. How he met Liv and how it all worked out.
This one was from only Liv's POV. I hope the 3rd one is from both of theirs. I struggle with one sided as I really want to know what the other is thinking. Although Nidya has done a fantastic job of letting us know what they are thinking by their actions and words.
This book was mostly an emotional war within Liv's head and heart. I understand why she is reserved with relationships as she was was hurt by the 2 closest people.
Callum's however let's her know physically and verbally what she means to him. Even when she pulls away he doesn't let her. Loved Callum's and his Dominate side. It was so hot!!! Until he hurt Liv, me too🤦🏽♀️. That hurt.
I don't think all her past conquests and ex popping up constantly wanting her back, helped him either. Left him hurt, jealous and confused (I'm guessing).
My only dislike was I think Liv was a bit too much in her head. He never gave her reasons to doubt until.... It felt like a whiplash with the back and forth. His ex is like a leech and does have an input in her doubts alot.
However I can't wait for book 3 and really hope they can see it through.
Also intrigued by the friends relationships.
This book was super steamy.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the second book in the Compulsions Series. You will need to read Breaking the Rules first or you will be lost in this book. This book picks up right where we left off in Breaking the Rules. Liv and Calum are in a relationship now and it is still pretty new to both of them. These two don't have any trouble with most things that come with being in a relationship but the biggest obstacle they face is trust. We all know that you can't have a relationship that is ever going to work if you do not have absolute trust in the other person. We all know what Liv has been though that has caused her to feel like she can't trust anyone. It's why she has fought being in this relationship and prefers her one night with someone and moving on. Calum however isn't perfect at all and I swear at times I wanted to punch him in the face on second and right back falling for him the next. He is an emotional roller coaster all on his own. However the are one their way to something big and horrible I can just feel it in my bones. Then you add in the side story of Dorain and Liv and you have a big old mess about to happen for them too, but for totally different reasons. I cant say that I didn't almost throw my kindle against the wall when I finished this book. Now I need the third one because I have to know what is going to happen next.

Hating The Rules ( Compulsions book #2 ) 🖤Hating The Rules is the unforgettable and unputdownable conclusion to Calum and Liv’s journey and man was it an emotional rollercoaster in every single way . Since meeting these two in Breaking The Rules I’ve been so freaking captivated. Two people who have been through so much to be with each other . Who are very complex characters you really cannot stop yourself from becoming completely invested in .Hating The Rules was and is everything, i mean everything. It’s an emotional rollercoaster that plays on all your emotions in ways you won’t even be expecting. You’ll experience everything from being utterly speechless, to yelling outta pure frustration. Your heart will feel like it’s beating so fast and then bam being crushed with tears streaming down your face , you’ll be glued to the edge of your seat anticipating what will happen from one second to the next . And you’ll find yourself rooting so freaking hard. There really are not any perfect words to express all the reasons you simply need to read this amazing series . It’s the type of journey that will suck you right in from the first page , that will keep you up reading well into the early morning hours , devouring every word and you might even lose track of time . The second book in the Compulsions series following the tempestuous relationship between Callum and Livana. Callum’s dominant side is well and truly coming to the forefront in Hating the Rules while Luv is falling deeper in thrall with him despite being stricken by major trust issues. Matters come to a head when chance encounters with several of her former one-night stands and also the man who had broken her heart when at college forces Callum, who is battling his own insecurities over the secrecy of their affair, to retaliate in a manner that will hurt her deeply leading to a gripping cliffhanger.
What a rollercoaster of a relationship this couple have. Callum and Liv are both obsessive about each other but at times their reactions to things seem almost a bit juvenile. Their chemistry is scorching and some of their encounters should come with an X rating. I loved the secondary characters especially Mikael who provided some much-needed comic relief to ease some of the s€xual tension and I’m intrigued by the relationship between Demi and Dorian. While book 1 was told in Calum's POV, book 2 is told in Liv's POV. We get to see Calum and their newly started relationship through her eyes. Calum is the perfect man for her. But we also get to know her past trauma with a previous boyfriend who is not only trying to win her back but cheated on her with her best friend. There are also previous hookups of hers who are trying to get her attention once more.
While Calum is jealous of all these men, Liv does not stay behind. She, herself, is jealous of his ex-fiancé. His ex is married but still trying to win Calum back. Book 1 was lust-driven and book 2 is too but it also has emotion entwined with it. It does end in a cliffhanger that most definitely will break hearts. I'm hoping that everyone who needs to grovels does it right.

This book starts with a date between the two and quickly escalates to steamy scenes after a chance meeting with an ex.
Liv is still not ready to let her guard down completely and Callum can sense this so he’s trying to show Liv how he feels without scaring her off.
Sometimes Liv’s skittish ways were a bit annoying and she was stuck in a cycle of getting cold feet and pulling away to reconnecting sexually and coming back around to the idea of a relationship then getting cold feet again, poor Callum.
This book is packed with heat but the storyline is a bit lost in this book. I was hoping for more interaction with the side/past characters but it isn’t until about 3/4 of the way through that other people really factor.
I can’t wait for book 3 Changing The Rules and I’m hoping Callum can show Liv that what they have is worth the risk.

This is the second book in the Compulsions series, this book digs deeper into LIv and Calum and their relationship. The first book was in Calum's POV and this one is in Liv's POV. This one is a rollercoaster of emotions. Liv has trust issues and she is struggling to open up completely to Calum. The sexual tension and attraction are hot and these two have feelings for each other if they can figure it out.
This one gives you emotional whiplash and there is so much angst. I can't wait for book three and see how this one turns up. There are ups and downs and I cry many times before this one ends in a cliffhanger. I am hooked and want more, and need more of this story.

Wow!
I loved this second book in this series about Liviana and Calum. Told from her point of view, it brings up her past and why she has such a hard time trusting men after she found her boyfriend in bed with her best friend. When she discovers pictures of Calum’s ex-fiancé, she freaks out. But Calum finally gets her to talk to him and promise not to run.
She struggles again and again with her feelings for Calum as well as her insecurities. After seeing something when they are on a trip together, she breaks up with him.
I cant wait to find out what happens next with Calum and Liviana… this story is getting soooo good!

Hating the Rules by N Isabelle Blanco is the continuing story of Calum and Livana (Liv). They seem a little different…harder than they were in the first part. These two seem to relish torturing each other with past dalliances. Every time she gets upset about it…he just has to enter the room and she’s totally under his spell. He is always telling her she’s the only one…but, he does little things that seem intentional to bother her. Their problems with each other seem petty and they spend so much time trying to prove themselves to each other. Didn’t like them as much as I did in the first part. I still enjoyed the story a lot! Ends in a cliffhanger!
