IOWA INCIDENT: Vice Admiral Relieved Of Duties

One of the highest ranking officers in the US Navy is being relieved of his command while he’s investigated for allegedly cheating at an Iowa casino.

Vice Admiral Tim Giardina was told Wednesday that he is being re-assigned.

Giardina was the deputy commander of US nuclear forces putting him second in command of the US nuclear arsenal.

Earlier this year, the three-star admiral was accused of using counterfeit poker chips at the Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs.

Giardina has now been dropped in rank to two-star admiral.
