Sometimes I liked to imagine, just for a second, that I was plain old Evelyn with nothing better to do in the morning than lie here with her man.

But that’s not how it was. That’s not who we were...

Evelyn Brighton and Daniel Summers are demon hunters, and they wouldn’t have it any other way. Or would they, given the choice again?

Los Angeles is crawling with demons in disguise, and Evelyn and Daniel are a dynamic and fearless demon-slaying duo. Under the authority of Lebriga Corporation and protection of their Divinity blades, this duo has never felt more ass-kicking against evil or more in love with each other.
But something is rotten in the state of home demonstration parties—and it’s not because a seal’s broken in the Tupperware. Beautiful Illuminations is the latest rage in home-consulting cosmetics, founded by Annabelle Simmons. But beneath the layers of makeup and human flesh lurks Anabael, a disembodied Spectoral demon that inhabits people and steals their physical form. To a spirit like that, an ageless demon hunter has a body to die for.

And Evelyn just might.

As Lebriga battles Anabael mind, body, and soul, Evelyn and Daniel must draw on the strength of their relationship to win the war against the Spectoral menace. But what if winning the war means losing their love?

LOVED THIS! I love the world building- demons in LA, demon hunters and spell workers working for a shadow corporation run by an angel. I really love that the hunters get tattoos that are actually spells, worked right into their skins. So cool. Evelyn is bad ass and ass kicking, yet still able to be sweet and besotted by Daniel, her new recruit. Such a fun read. Highly recommended.

Hot, sizzling, sexy scenes? Attractive, witty, bullheaded characters? Anxiety inducing story developments? Check, check, & check! The second in the Divinity Series is compelling!
Evelyn is a 135-yr-old kickass demon hunter with a demure side reserved only for Daniel, her boyfriend, trainee, and destiny. When the couple isn’t busy dodging demon attacks or knocking the snot out of each other on the gym floor, they are busy attending to their intense attraction for one another. In spite of her new found appreciation for love, Evelyn continues to struggle with letting other’s close… but soon she finds all her worries cast aside as tensions run high for all Hunters at the compound as they sense an indiscernible evil approaching. Duress only increases when Gabriel and Alex insist the balance that maintains human-life in existence will only be maintained if Evelyn goes after the Spectoral demon solo, AND if they link up with the one and only Lucifer. It’s going to take the entire team and their ties to one another to overcome this battle.

Entity is a quick, engrossing, sexy tale of danger and loyalty that will have readers at the edge of their seats. Book two picks up where Divinity leaves off, and is told by the POVs of Evelyn, Daniel, and the antagonist, Anabael. The story develops at a natural, but fast pace with crass, yet witty exchanges that resonate with my inner dialogue. The discourse exemplified by each of the characters is entertaining from start to finish. Leever has a way of making her characters come to life with each foul thing that comes out of their mouths. I love it!

The premise is bold and gripping, mushy bonding stuff included. The story unfolds in an effective manner that allows readers to savor the romance amidst the malevolent. The story was both plot and character driven this time around. Readers were given more of a glimpse into the use of spells in the field and Lebriga Corporation, which was thought provoking... I still want more answers! There was definitely more depth to book two, but not enough to keep me from feeling gipped. I'm a curious creature, I want to know more! This is no fault to the author, just a preference of mine.

Nevertheless, I highly recommend reading this series in sequential order so the growth these characters make both as individuals, and as a team, may be fully appreciated. This is an incredible follow up that does wonders at staying true to character and tone. Evidently I have a thing for these fabulous characters their ball-busting, facetious, and lively natures; I bet you will too.

Right after reading DIVINITY, I cracked open the eARC of ENTITY. ready to see where Patricia Leever was going to take the crew from Lebriga Corporation.

The Book as Part of a Series: The second book in the Divinity Series, continues with the same demon hunters we met during DIVINITY; however, the demon their fighting this time makes the last one look like a walk in the park. I would recommend reading DIVINITY as it sets the foundation of how things work, and you get the background on the relationships that are critical to the story of ENTITY.

The book delivers a full story, all while building on what we learned in book one and leaving readers excited to see what's next.

The Characters: The Lebriga Corporation crew remains the same as the first book. I enjoyed this since I'd noted I wanted to to get to know those characters better. I really enjoyed where Patricia took them this time. Throughout ENTITY you continue to see both the strength and vulnerabilities of the characters.

The surprise in this book was Lucifer. While he is fundamentally what you expect, there were also some neat twists to his character.

The Relationships: As noted in the first section, the relationships in this story are critical. You get a different perspective on some, and a deepening of others. In all cases, they make an interesting story. While Evelyn and Daniel's relationship is central to everything, it was great that it wasn't the only important piece.

Other Things To Note: I think I may have found one of my new favorite book lines while reading ENTITY.

“Yeah, that whole ‘lady’ thing was never my strong suit. I’ve always been more of a fuck-it-and-see-what-happens kind of gal.”
— Evelyn Brighton, ENTITY

Jen's Final Rating: 5 STARS! This was a kick ass continuation of the Divinity Series. The demon hunting case is intense. The emotional parts with the hunters and their handlers is even more intense. I can't wait to see what happens next based on what the epilogue was hinting at.

Psychocat's Final Rating: 5 CLAWS! The crazy cat seriously admires Evelyn's abilities across the board. If the crew at Lebriga decides they need a mascot I know just the animal for them.

I absolutely loved this book. It took a kick ass adventure story and added a really emotional love story to it. The characters feel so real when you read them and we had the added bonus of getting the POV of both Evie and Daniel. I loved being to get inside Daniel's head. It was refreshing to get that perspective.

Entity takes what was started in Divinity and really builds on it. I really hope there is another book, I can't wait to read more!

Simply Amazing ! :D
I just loved Entity as much as I love the other books by Patricia Leever.
There wasn't one thing I didn't like and I would definitely recommend this book to people who love YA books(ex. by Kelly Armstrong and Patricia briggs).
The book is very well written and the plot is Amazing. The characters are some of my all time favourite Characters especially Evelyn (and I loved a devilish new character in the book as well - I hope to hear more about him) I'm definitely looking forward to what's coming next.
