Rebecca Summers enjoys pleasing herself with the curtains open. When a mysterious stranger calls to tell her that he is watching, fantasy becomes reality as she begins to perform for him. Following his instructions over the phone while he watches from afar, she finds herself craving more.

Oliver Durant has always been drawn to humans to exert the dominance and control his kind needs to feel alive. While secretly observing her and calling nightly, he can’t seem to get enough of Rebecca, whom he refers to as butterfly. His urges with her are stronger than the need to dominate, as he is driven to possess her in every way.

Both of their worlds are turned upside down when they finally meet and she agrees to enter into a Dominant/submissive relationship with her Midnight Caller.

As a reader, even I have some hard limits and this book? crossed every single one of them

Going into this book, I expected a normal BDSM romance but this one was anything but. Can someone tell me why it wasn't mentioned that the guy is an alien?!? AN ALIEN??!!

After I found that out, I just decided to ignore it, and power through the book but then, I couldn't! It had a sex scene every two pages! no sorry, my mistake, phone sex. He calls her and she puts on a show which was described sooooo explicitly that I threw up more than a few times. He knows all about her, but she hasn't even seen him!! At around 40%, he touches her for the first time (she is blindfolded). During the first 40%, there is loads of phone sex where he watches her and he can apparently see from where he stays (across the street) because he has amazing sight with the power to see in darkness cuz he's an alien The first time he comes to her place, she is blindfolded and dumb chick allows a stranger into her house because of course he wont hurt her or kidnap her. She could've been used as a drug mule for all she knew! she knows nothing about him except his voice. Oh, but dumb chick doesn't even know that properly because apparently they've been working in the same office, on the same project for the past few days. He also asked her out but she turned him down because he wanted to be faithful to her sir. This book was absurdity to the highest level. 43% into the book, she allows him to touch her and everything but she still hasn't seen him. But he can't have sex with her because apparently his 'semen' contains some poison that will paralyse and then kill her nor can he give her oral because he has poisonous fangs that will again paralyse and then kill her ....I honestly don't know what to say

Also, apparently his 'master' who taught him BDSM and stuff is his biological father

There was also a sex scene between 5 people I didn't know that was even possible until now and none of them were the MC's. So yes, ladies and gentlemen, there was a scene between 5 other people who were friends/family of the alien guy. Because of course the sex lives of 5 other people is important in a book where neither of them are important.

I don't even know what to say. I'm honestly so traumatised right now. There was no love between them and apparently everyone else knows that she's his mate except for him. Because others get to know who your mate is first I'm sorry, my bad

I tried reading ahead, but I just can't.

LMAO. The very first sentence of the blurb, explaining that the main female character likes to pleasure herself with the curtains drawn wide open, made me immediately think of the oversexed dentist character Jennifer Aniston played in the movie Horrible Bosses. PASS!

This is BDSM done so incredibly right! After reading this book, all I can say is "Christian who??" Fifty Shades and The Crossfire series don't even come close to touching this one. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed both series BUT Midnight Caller is the real deal. The synopsis alone screamed SEXY and had me intrigued. I was hooked from the very first page. I loved the otherworldy factor, mostly b/c I'm a huge fan of all things paranormal, but its not done in a way that would turn anybody off b/c its not realistic enough. The fact that super hot Oliver (a.k.a. Sir) isn't human is a small part of the story, while the steamy play-room sessions with Rebecca (a.k.a. butterfly) take over a majority of the book. There's an awesome story line in there too, so don't go thinking its all bedroom action from start to finish. However, I will say its definitely not for the faint of heart, brace yourselves ladies & gents b/c this is one hell of a ride. I give tons of kudos to NJ Cole for writing such an incredible book that's obviously well researched and right on the mark. I can definitely see myself reading this again and would wholeheartedly jump on anything else written by this author.

4.5 “beautiful, Butterfly” Kisses

*Warning* this is an erotica book…therefore my images and jpgs will reflect that – if that offends you, stop now! :-)

Well…let me just tell you this little baby took me on a 5 hour adventure ride that kept me up till 4 am based on the sheer fact that I was so close to the end I had to finish it. My brain would not allow me any other options other than to finish. So I did…and as result, I am now writing this review with two hours of sleep, but my mind is still racing and reeling and trying to compute my thoughts, feelings and emotions on what I just read. If I was going with my gut on this book, I would have stopped after Chapter 1 – and having finished it now, that makes me sad because I would have missed out on an amazing book. Just wait….I will explain.

When we got the review request to read this book, I asked for a tease. What I got, turns out to be the first part of the second chapter. It’s about a voyeuristic woman named Rebecca Summers. You’re talking to a self proclaimed Dirty Book Whore, you think voyeurism isn’t right up my ally? Yeah…it totally is. Then you add in the sexy SUPER Alpha Male ‘midnight caller’ who is both demanding and über hot and I’m signed up for a good time. Well…then I started it….and there was a ‘kink’ if you will.

“Rebecca Summers is not stupid or awkward, and she is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in my life.”

It’s got a paranormal aspect to it. He’s from a different planet. There is sooooo much more to the story than that, and trust me – I was SO close to throwing in the towel. Almost did. But I told myself I was going to give this book a fair shot and I didn’t feel like just because I have an aversion to all things paranormal, that that meant it was worth giving up on the other aspects of this book that were worthwhile. It hooked me for a reason – let’s see if it can get me to get past my personal hang ups. Uhh…clearly, mission accomplished on that btw.

‘I had hoped that she would tolerate my darker side by allowing me it. She did more than just allow my harsh touch; she surprised even herself by loving it.’

I could spend all day going into the intricacies of the story line and how it grabbed me…but that could and probably would spoil a lot – and I don’t do spoilers. Let’s just put it this way, take out the paranormal stuff and this is one of the best erotica’s I’ve ever read. Definitely one of the top 2 or 3 Dom/Sub and BDSM books I have ever read. Oliver Durant/Sir/Master is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I don’t care if he’s from another planet and I don’t have a submissive bone in my body, that man has SKILLS cause trust me I would be in the waiting pose all day, every day. He’s not a book boyfriend, he’s a book Dom. And there aren’t nearly enough of those if you ask me. ;-)

‘He is in control of himself first and foremost, so that he may control others.’

Rebecca is a breath of fresh air…she is a natural born submissive but that doesn’t mean she is going to be walked all over. She submits to ‘her Sir’…but she’s still got some spunk to her. How she behaves for Him is not how she behaves for everyone. I liked Rebecca, she’s brave, she’s impulsive and she goes with her gut. Granted her gut may say let a strange man come into your house while your blindfolded – in theory a crazy idea but trust me Best. Idea. Ever. Lol

‘I began to wonder if it were possible to die from too many orgasms.’

There is a little bit of fantasy, especially with the paranormal aspect but last time I checked we don’t read romance novels for 100% hard solid facts. If that was the case none of us would get anything done because of all the drop dead gorgeous men walking around with huge dicks just seeping alpha male testosterone and screwing up our days with crazy passionate sex. Or is that just my dream? Moving on! But even with those small glimpses of fantasy, this book, these characters and their emotions felt very real and raw to me. They pulled me in…and I liked it. That’s what kept me reading. We did switch around from a few different POV’s (at least 4) – but it was always clear and concise and I will say Miss. Cole can write an excellent male POV.

“In the past it was more a desire to be with them, to dominate and control them. They were my toys. With Rebecca it’s different. It’s more of a need than a want, and I don’t need to dominate her and control he. Well, yes I do, but not like before. Now, I really just need to protect her and teach her.”

The paranormal was a little out there at first, which is why I almost put it down…*News Flash* I am not a paranormal reader. If you look at my book list, this should not be a surprise to you. When I look at this book as a whole – take away the paranormal parts – this is a hot ass erotica. Don’t get me wrong, there is still a romance aspect to it…just because I opened my mind doesn’t mean I’ve lost it completely. To my core I am a romantic and this book definitely hit my romantic strings. The connection between Sir & Butterfly was *sigh* soul soothing…I loved them together. The sex is hot, but the bond they form is hotter.

‘“What flower are you on, my beautiful girl?”
“Mmmmmm. Lily, Sir, soooo lily,” she giggled.’

So…the ending…it’s a good ending, but it’s not a final ending. There are things that need to be addressed and while I’m happy that for right now my characters are happy…I do need that resolution. I crave it…because I must have everything wrapped up in a nice neat bow. Right now I see the present and I know it’s going to look GORGEOUS with a bow on top…now I just need that sequel! I’m over the moon for this book. It hypnotized me and I really can’t get it out of my head, the characters have seeped into me and I don’t want them to leave. Midnight Caller was a surprising change of pace that I didn’t even know I wanted to read. :-)

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**

*Warning, Midnight Caller is mostly M/F, but there is mention about M/M, and anal penetration*

OMG! Hot! Hot! Hot!

I love reading mostly all genres and I thoroughly enjoy erotica, Midnight Caller was the absolute definition of erotica. It was non stop sex and that is how the connection between Butterfly and Sir grows. I say SciFi influence because I feel as though the story itself is about the relationship between Sir and his Butterfly, rather than focus on the fact that Sir is Bocaj or events surrounding the Bocaj in general. It is just what they are, not what the story is about.
Rebecca never imagined that someone could actually see in her apartment and would watch her nightly routine of pleasuring herself until she gets a phone call from a mysterious man and tells her how beautiful it was to watch. At first she gets a little freaked out, but the more she thinks about it, the more she actually enjoys it. So she starts to perform for him every night, and as time goes on their relationship becomes more than just watching.
Oliver is a Bocaj and from another planet, he's been on Earth for centuries and is a Dom. His subs are usually other Bocaj, since their toxin is lethal to humans. He does interact with humans occasionally as subs, but never on a physical level. Then he sees his Butterfly perform and he just has to have her. There is something about her that pulls him to her that he can't really explain. As their relationship grows from observer to physical, Sir teaches Butterfly how to be a sub, specifically his.

I thought Midnight caller was a good read, it's certainly a sexy scenario. At first I was a little skeptical in Rebecca's trust in a stranger to move forward with the physical part of their relationship but I have to admit, it was adventurous and sexy, so then I thought better of it, lol.

If you looking for a hot sex filled story, this is the one for you.
Enjoy!!

First off, if you are looking for a book filled with BDSM and sex without caring about much else, then this book will probably float your boat. From start to finish, it is filled with D/s sex scenes that are graphic and, at times, arousing. My problem is that the book has little else to offer.

I do not read a lot of erotic fiction, so I cannot judge this against anything else in the genre. Maybe this is standard and most people will not have a problem. I felt like the fact that the Sir in the book was an alien was done more out of convenience to make the initial premise work (e.g. being able to see into Butterfly's house in the dark). It felt like a giant deus ex machina, and the fact that all these creatures that have been here for centuries do not know everything about how they affect and are affected by humans is ludicrous. I also struggled with the heteronormative framework that was pervasive throughout the book, including unnecessary pieces of homophobia. Not to mention that the book felt way longer than necessary for the story it was telling. It was padded with repetitive scenes that added little to the dynamic.

All in all, not a very successful book for me. But as previously stated, if you just want some steamy sex, Midnight Caller has it in spades.

Bee’s review.

Wow – where do I start with this incredibly steamy book?

The way in which N J Cole describes Rebecca’s performances through Oliver’s eyes are a pure work of art. Although, we do see different points of view throughout the story. You are taken right inside the story, and feel drawn to Oliver and his butterfly instantly.

The level of chemistry intensifies when the two leads finally come face to face. With Rebecca being blindfolded, I might add. Yeah, if that isn’t hot, I’m not sure what else is, and that’s just the beginning of the hotness in this book.

You watch the lust turn into love as Butterfly gives herself to her Sir (Oliver.)

I have never read a BDSM story like this. With the element of Oliver not being human, it makes it even more interesting.

If you are looking for a seriously HOT story, this is the book for you.

I can’t recommend this book enough. I can’t even rate it, as I would give it over 5 stars.

N J Cole is an author to look out for in 2013.

Heather's review.

From the first page to the last, this book never slows down. From Sir’s first phone call, “That was beautiful, butterfly.” to his identity reveal and the repeat of the words that started it all, the passion and excitement never let up.

Rebecca and Oliver bring us into a world that very few of us will ever experience. I’m not just referring to the BDSM lifestyle or the sci-fi element either, but one of complete and utter trust in another person. We all have those in our life that we trust but as you read the developing relationship between butterfly and Sir, a whole new level of trusting emerges.

Although the main characters are Rebecca and Oliver, we also get to see into the lives of the supporting characters that we don’t often learn the ins and outs of.

Even though “trust” is a huge factor in this story, so much so that it could almost be considered a character in itself, we also see friendship, humor, and more importantly, how what started out as sex and exhibitionism evolved into passion and love.

With this story, NJ Cole has proven herself to be an up and coming author to keep your eye on.

Lexi's Review.

Midnight Caller, by NJ Cole, is a story about a girl called Rebecca Summers and her 'midnight caller' Oliver Durant. This wonderfully written book narrates the story of Rebecca, who likes to pleasure herself in front of her large bedroom window. But what she doesn’t know is that she has a secret admirer who soon will become her “Midnight Caller.”

The book is written in first person, and this way we get to see how the story flows in different points of view, which are beautifully written with a lot of detail and complexity. While reading this book, you can see all the passion and love NJ Cole put into her characters. The amount of details this book has is amazing; you will be able to see the interactions of Butterfly and her Sir right in front of your eyes while reading it.

Midnight Caller is one of the hottest BDSM stories I’ve ever read, and I can promise you that you will not be disappointed with it. Once you’ve read the first page, you will be sucked in—no pun intended :D—and won’t put it down until you finish it.

I strongly recommend Midnight Caller. It will have all you BDSM lovers panting throughout the whole story. It is a huge MUST in your collection.

I struggled in the beginning, was really rather bored but it did seem to pick up, or at least the sex scenes anyway. I felt the story itself lacked, I feel like there needed to be more character building. Just left me feeling kinda nothing, not an I want more or I loved the characters, it's just over.

Hold on to your bed post and get ready to go on one of the most sensual rides you’ll ever have while reading a book. If you are looking for a steamy hot erotica book, look no further! Midnight Caller is it! You are bound to be thrust into NJ Cole’s world straight from the beginning whether you’re ready for it or not; and what a world it is! Without giving too much away, she has done an amazing job creating a fascinating and exciting affair between Oliver and Bec that will force you to look into your own deep and darkest fantasies whatever they may be. The story revolves around Oliver, the Dominant and powerful man, who claims Bec as his own through a voyeuristic adventure in which she is enticingly compelled to relinquish total control to her unknown midnight caller.

There are a few reasons this particular book stood out for us. First; anybody can write a sex scene (okay, maybe not everybody) but very few are able to write in a way that makes the reader feel they are totally immersed in it. NJ Cole hit it on the mark with Midnight Caller! Second; books are generally written in one character’s point of view. This one had perspectives of many characters involved which brought to light so many different aspects of an individual scene allowing us to fall more in love with all the characters, not just a certain few.

After having the pleasure of speaking with NJ Cole, we divas were able to have a better understanding of why we felt the way we did while reading the book. NJ Cole was refreshingly honest and open with us about her writing process. Her own personal experiences, relationships, and unapologetic view on sexual expression helped create the enticing world of Oliver and Bec that we grew to love in Midnight Caller. The story originated as fan-fiction when she entered it into an “unresolved sexual tension” contest. With such an enormous response, she decided to publish it for all to read. She is adamant that no matter what the result is, she will always stay true to her fan-fiction roots. One thing is for sure, she has found a few more fans in the Divas! We can’t wait to see where Oliver and Bec’s journey goes next!!

The Diva’s rating system, champaign glasses, wasn’t quite fitting for this particular book so for the first time ever, we’ve decided to change it up a bit and give Midnight Caller 5 out of 5 spankings. This is the ULTIMATE book in Erotica!!

Midnight Caller by NJ Cole will be available to purchase through Amazon and Barnes and Noble Tuesday, May 28, 2013.

May 28th Promotion:

If you purchase the book on May 28, 2013, you will be sent a postcard of the cover of Midnight Caller to any address you provide. NJ will write a short note on the postcard and sign it. It’s the best she can do since an autographed copy isn’t possible for ebooks
Here’s what you need to do:

1. Purchase a copy, either ebook or paperback, on May 28th. (one day only)

2. take a screen shot of your receipt, or forward it, or copy and past part of it, or in some way show me that you purchased on May 28th.

3. email it to njcolepromotions@gmail.com

4. Tell me who you would me like to make it out to. For example, if your facebook name and gmail name is something like Fanfic Reader… you don’t want me to write it to, Dear Fanfic Reader, ..lol.. say, make it out to Sue. Also, since it is a post card, it won’t come in an envelope. Make sure you’re alright with the cover arriving at your house. Let me know if I can be creative with my note or if I should keep it PG.

Any questions you can message me on fb or at njcolepromotions@gmail.com

Steamy read! At first I was expecting Oliver to be a vampire with the way things started out, glad he wasn't! The Bocaj are an interesting and fresh idea, very sci-fi.

Rebecca, or Bec, is a quiet girl with a kinky side. She walks on the wild side by pleasuring herself in front of her open windows. Only doing this at night, and with all the lights off, she feels confident that she is hidden from any prying eyes; but the thought that someone could be watching excites her.

Oliver sees her. With the help of his superior Bocah eyesight, he has front row seating to Bec's show in his adjacent apartment. He reaches out to her. First with a couple phone calls, then into her work life. Soon he has her where he wants her, in his playroom.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I would like to see more of Rebecca and Oliver and to see their relationship develop more on a personal level.

Interview with the author!

1.) Where did you get the idea for the Bocaj? I get tons of help when I write. Mostly I get ideas from the storytelling voices in my head, but I also get help from my family and friends. In the case of Bocaj, I asked my thirteen year old what he would name a species from another planet. Bocaj was his answer.

2.) In the About the Author, it mentions that you have a Sir. How long have you lived this lifestyle? We have been together for over twenty years. It wasn’t always like this, but it has been for a while. Officially calling him Sir has been about a year and a half.

3.) What made you want to write a book about it? I just wanted to share with people what BDSM could be like. Some people hear the letters and think beating a woman.” For most people, it’s not like that at all. Most people do not live the lifestyle 24/7. My Sir and I do not.

4.) Do you plan on writing a sequel? I do plan on a sequel, but it is too early to even estimate a date for that. I can’t wait to tell more of their story.

5.) Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing? I have a hard time finding time to write. Once I get the time, though, it does seem to flow.

6.) What was the hardest part of writing your book? The publishing for me was hard. I didn’t love the editing, but Sally Goodwin made it go easily. It’s the after publishing I didn’t expect! It’s hard to promote a book. I love the interviews and reviews, but I didn’t realize it would be so involved. I’m grateful for blogs like Eat, Sleep, Read who help me get the word out.

7.) Do you feel a personal connection with any of your characters? I feel connected to them all, as I feel that they live in my head. I based Oliver after my own husband, and he calls me butterfly for the same reason I gave in the book. I do have to say I love Shane. He is really fun to write.

8.) What did you enjoy most about writing this book? I enjoyed *cough* the research. I own almost everything in the novel with the exception of the playroom furniture.

9.) For those interested in exploring the subject or theme of your book, where should they start? Reading about BDSM might be a good place to start. It could help a person to decide what they are interested in. To me, there is no wrong way to live the lifestyle. Some people live it 24/7, while others just like to participate occasionally. Each situation is unique. I would suggest to do what feels right and build from there.

10.) What do you like to read in your free time? I love to read fan fiction. I like to support writers who I know from various blogs and facebook groups.

Ok, so I read the sample and thought... "Wow so this will be a hot little BDSM book" Then I get into it further and it has a paranormal aspect to it and I usually don't do that genre, nothing against it I was sad at times that some of those don't call to me. Amazingly, Oliver called to me and I couldn't help but read it. There are several points of view, not just Oliver...aka Sir, or Rebecca...aka Butterfly. I was pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns in this and geez what tension and heat!

Oliver went to extremes to keep Bec from seeing his face in the playroom and knowing his identity. Though they knew each other. You will just have to read it to find out why...and what his reasons were. Though they were both so torn in their feelings, and you can really feel it. I had a few moments where I laughed and several where I said WTF but I mean nothing was like the ending. REALLY? You had to leave us hanging like that? I will not go into detail, I don't want to put in any spoilers. Although those who have read it and NJ also will know what I mean. I really hope there is another book, or something there were things I thought surely would be resolved that were left hanging and UGH that isn't cool. HA HA HA Anyway, writing is an art and each piece is subject to the individual reader. I enjoyed it and would read the next one if the author decided to continue it.

I absolutely loved NJ Cole's Midnight Caller. Why? There are several reasons. This book was erotica at its finest and beyond. The love scenes were steamy and very well written, putting the reader right into the scene. I'm not into the BDSM D/s relationship style personally, but there were times I could feel each caress of the flogger and Sir stroked his butterfly.
I also loved how Cole brought in an aspect that was completely unexpected but explained so well. When one things paranormal, they don't usually pair it with erotica/romance, but she did an incredible job at making it flow seamlessly. Kudos to her for that.
Having multiple points of view really brought the story to life, as well. Not only is the reader able to get a general feel for the story, we are able to go literally get into the heads of some of the major characters and discover how they're feeling and thinking.
Although I absolutely love Sir and adore butterfly, I would have to say my favorite character in this book is Shane. He's the big brother I never had and I love his playful, easy going attitude about anything and everything.
I leave this review with one final note to the author: Congratulations NJ Cole! If Midnight Caller is anything like what the future holds for you and your stories, consider me a reader for life! I am COMPLETELY CAPTIVATED!

NJ Cole writes a hot book. No doubt. She has a truly unique talent for being able to keep her sexy scenes - sexy - despite their volume. Usually when the sex takes up this high of a percentage of the page count I get bored - and find it difficult to form any real attachment to the characters. I have to say - NJ Cole's imagination is a sexy place to be. I honestly came to like Butterfly and Sir and I was rooting for their HEA.

I liked the whole Alien race plot line - and I won't mind some more books in this world. It was an interesting twist that felt very original.

I will definitely be picking up more of her work as it comes out.

Recommended for a very sexy read.

The sex and bdsm scenes in this book were extremely hot and written very well! I really liked that this was written in first person and from both MC's and a few supporting characters POV's.

I would have liked more character development of both MC's and more back story of Rebecca. This started out great and I couldn't stop reading it, then about halfway through it began to feel repetitive, so I started to get bored. Although it was a HEA, and I adore HEA's, it felt a bit disappointing to me.

Overall it is worth the read and a great spin on an alien and human coupling.

This It was my first erotic novel, and I must say - I just loved it!
I wish there was more of Sir and Butterfly, I hope she's planning a sequel! Very well written, I thought I would get bored with the sex scenes that would so often appear on this type of book (I've read some contemporary romances that in the end I would just skip some), but you the author made me want more! :)
can't wait to read more of her work!!
TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!

Yes. I've read this. It awful. It's batshit mental, which I might be able to forgive if the sex was well done. It isn't.

Speak barf barf

It got three stars because it wasn't bad, but it really wasn't good either. My main issue with the book is that it was nothing more than part of a story about a couple coming together in s D/s relationship. There was no drama, mystery or anything else. It was cover to cover sex. Not that I mind sex, but I want a story with my sex and the story here was shallow at best. Sure we got aliens that our vampire mythology would have been based off of. But even that had no real story with it and more sex. Although he fact that his dad taught him to be a Dom was just a little too creepy for me. It was just overall boring. No excitement. Even the repetitious sex got boring. And so you know going in that even though they are supposed to be mates that only have sex with each other, after awhile they branch out to sharing the with others. I hated that she had to be told to speak before she could speak. Even if he asked a question she was allowed to answer unless he said speak. Yep, a real live dog pet. Speak, bark bark barf barf. I am a submissive, but I expect a guy to respect me and all I have to offer him. That includes my mind. I could handle that if necessary during a scene, but even that is just too far. Most Doms expect expect a sub to answer immediately when asked a question . That whole speak thing seems counter intuitive and would make a sub feel devalued. 3 holes with no of her value. Then all through the book having her refer to herself in the third person was weird and creepy. It makes her sound like a two year old who hasn't learned proper language skills yet. Maybe it's meant to remove her sense of self, but it fails. I know I am there to serve my Dom, but they key word in that sentence is I. I am more than 3 interchangeable holes. Why in the world would any Dom rather hear Butterfly loves what you do to her, than I love what you do to me? The last us much more primal. The first sounds more like a child psycho.

I'm sorry, but I need a lot more meat with my potatoes and this story lacks meat. It's all potatoes.

Fair warning this book is full of very explicit erotic BDSM sex scenes.
Midnight Caller by NJ Cole was surprisingly refreshing. Rebecca (Bec) enjoys pleasuring herself with her blinds and curtains open at night. She enjoys the thrill of being seen even though she knows it's dark and nobody can see it's possiblity that turns her on. Oliver lives across the street and has been watching her 24/7 and is intrigued by her and wants her as his next submissive. After one of her usual nightly routines of masterbation her phone rings and a man's voice tells her " that was beautiful ,butterfly" then hangs up. Sir gives her the pet name "butterfly". This was how Oliver's (Sir) relationship began. He would call after until it turned into him giving her orders of when and how to pleasure herself. Even with this being a paranormal story the focus wasn't all on that but on how Oliver and Rebecca budding romance evolved from a Dom/Sub to a true love (mate). I love the secondary characters especially Shane he was so funny the banter between them had me laughing out loud. Lord have mercy Candice (Candy) she thought everyone would be falling down to sleep with her . She would introduce herself by saying my name is Candy sweet and just a little bit sticky. There are a lot of funny things that happen around the office that will have you laughing out loud. I don't want to tell you too much because you need to read it without spoilers. Can't wait to see what happens next with Oliver and Rebecca.

OMG! This is why I love Good Reads! I found myself working on my shelves and this book was listed with its other in the duet as a "readers who enjoyed this...." I really like BDSM D/s relationships that don't make me feel like the Dom is being a douche. Anyhow, I adored this couple, I loved the story, and I knew within the first 10 pages of the first one that this was a gem of a read. I was so happy to have read it, and I was even more happy to discover that there were only two books in thise duet. I was almost done with the second one and I checked the release date on it thinking there needed to be a third, that this would end on a cliffhanger, but it didn't. So, don't worry about that if you find yoursef getting to the end and wondering if there is. I can only say that I loved both books (Midnight Caller) and if you like real love, even with an alien bent (no tentacles) and lots of steamy but not smutty sex, you will enjoy this duet!

This was an amazing story which takes place on Earth in modern day and incorporates alien life forms who interact & live among humans on a daily basis. The introduction of the alien species, the explanation of their world and how they got to Earth was done very well. I just loved Oliver's character! This story is heavy into BDSM and D/s, DD/bg relationships. Watching Oliver's and Rebecca's story unfold was literally watching a caterpillar become a butterfly. Their love is undeniable. The supporting characters are well developed and play a huge part in the story's progression. This is a two book series although the story is so good, it could continue with the supporting characters! The author does an excellent job of capturing your attention and holding it until the very end. The ending of the book was perfect! I highly recommend this series!
