Rate this book
The third sexy novel in USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton’s playful and erotic Redhead series continues the sizzling romance between actress Grace Sheridan and Hollywood’s hottest leading man Jack Hamilton.

Grace has landed the lead in a new TV series—but when the director asks her to lose fifteen pounds, she goes public with her weight struggles and suddenly develops a huge fan club who support her right to have curves. But between that and the public’s continuing fascination with her “are they or aren’t they” relationship with Jack, Grace begins to wonder if anyone’s really interested in her because of her upcoming TV series, or if it’s all speculation about the size of her ass and her bedroom partner.

Meanwhile, Jack is voted the Sexiest Man Alive and becomes a little too enamored with the party-hard lifestyle. Grace vows to give him the space he needs to find himself, but then he begins to spiral down from lovable Brit to Hollywood brat. People are talking, but are Jack and Grace? Her career is on the rise, and his continues into the stratosphere, but will she be able to catch him if he falls? Synopsis
What a fantastic finish for this unconventional yet wonderful couple. This books takes the fun and feisty Grace and the swoonalicious heartthrob Jack and really makes them work at their relationship. As if their age differences and Hollywood pressures weren't enough, now Grace has reached a point in her career that she can FINALLY see some upward movement. Her show has caught the eye of some network biggies, and Grace is the star of the show.

Only, it seems the reason that her name is on the lips of the public is not due to her own performances but simply because she is still linked to Jack Hamilton. They haven't brought their relationship out, and yet the occasional redheaded spotting keeps tongues wagging.

And now there is just one more reason that people are overlooking her talent...it seems they can't see past the size of her...errr...her size. Grace has inadvertently become a spokeswoman for women with normal amounts of cushion, as opposed to the stick thin and unhealthy norm in Tinseltown. Of course, everyone has an opinion, and Grace figures as long as she's healthy and Jack still loves her assets, she has nothing to worry about. Yet she's still like to be known for her skill rather than her booty.

Meanwhile, Jack is the big man in Hollywood, and he's not handling the fame quite as well as expected.

It's the little things that are starting to get to him; the fact that he and Grace are still not an official couple, the constant cameras in his face and his inability to go to the grocery store without getting into a high speed chase are just a few things that Jack grows quickly weary of.

My Thoughts
This book had a totally different tone to it than the first two did. There were moments of funny and quite a few lighthearted as well, but the meat of the story is more grounded than before. Grace and Jack love each other, and that's apparent. They really WANT this relationship to work, despite everything that goes against them. Now, they are down to the nitty gritty, daily struggle. Their careers are both taking off, and although Grace is really happy for Jack, she also doesn't want to constantly be in his shadow. When Jack gets a new buddy and begins to stay out celebrating more often than not, Grace tries to chalk it up to his age and his need to unwind.

This was my biggest point of contention with this story, the fact that Grace was making all of these awkward allowances for her boyfriend while he acted like a teenager just cut loose from his parents. Jack was not the same Jack here as he was before. And I felt like Grace put up with him for too long. The last hoorah was over way too quickly, in my opinion. I needed to see some begging and pleading, or at least more than we got from him.

I LOVED how Grace dealt with her critics. At first, of course, she had a few issues with her self esteem. But then she bucked up and basically told them to shove off. Of course, Jack backs her up and it made me love him all the more. He's a horny bastard, and he sure does love those boobies! He doesn't want the girls going ANYWHERE, but even more so, he loves Grace just the way she is.

Which leads me to the SEXY TIMES!!! Let me just reassure you that even though Jack and Grace are dealing with more issues, they still find time to touch. Jack's obsession with the boobies lives on, but even more so than that, Jack and Grace connect best when their sex life is healthy. It's a huge part of this romance, and it's definitely present in this book!

I can't even tell you how utterly ABSORBED I was in this book. I looked up at the clock at midnight and thought "No friggin' way I can go to sleep right now. Then at 1 am...still not tired. At 2 am...I gave up and decided to go for broke. From start to finish, I devoured The Redhead Plays Her Hand.

Alice Clayton is an incredible writer. Her books are fabulously funny, smart and sexy. This book had all those elements, but it was just different from the first two for me.

Jack and Grace are Hollywood’s Are they or aren’t they couple. Grace is finally doing it. Living her dream and staring in her own show. She is ecstatic. Her main squeeze Jack couldn’t be happier for her. Jack is huge right now, and his stardom is just getting bigger and bigger. He is the sexiest man alive, the new ‘it’ guy. The pressure is getting to them both.

Jack can’t do anything anymore with out it being a national event. It’s stressing him out and he’s coping in some not so great ways. Grace is so happy to be on the big screen, but she has pressures too. She is being asked to lose weight, constantly criticized for that and her ‘relationship’ with Jack. Not only does she have all that going on, but she is worried about her George. She knows something is up. He’s been hanging out with a not so stand up guy and there have been changes. Grace really struggles with letting Jack come in to his own and deal with things his own way, and trying to talk with him about her concerns. He never wants to talk though. He wants to deflect with sex.

Even with the conflict of the story, Grace and Jack still had their easy going moments. Their sweet, funny, quirky and sexy times. I love them together and I have to say, Grace really won me over in this book. Their roles have changed some...

Grace is sassy and hilarious as always. She has changed some in this book. She’s still herself, but a little more mature and driven. Jack. My Jack. I didn’t even know what to do with you most of the book. I love Jack so much, but really? His behavior was atrocious for most of the book. I was disappointed in him. His true self shined in at times. I lived for the moments I caught a glimpse of my Jack and not this new Jack. I am so happy he turned it around for the last 10-15%. What really got to me was the lack of epilogue. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the way this book ended, but I wanted more. After all the drama, couldn’t we have gotten a bit more at the end? I need to see what happens after. That would have made the book so much better for me.

Overall, this was a bit of a let down. I think I loved the first two books too much and my expectations were too high. This has been happening a lot with series for me. The second or third book falling a little flat in comparison to the first. It was good, but could have been so much better. Even with issues I had, I still enjoyed reading it and I’m happy did. Grace is a wonderful heroine, and even with all of his issues, Jack will always be my favorite Brit! He figured it out in the end and I was happy with his growth. George and Gracie will always be special to me!

4.5 sparkly boobies

Grace & Jack are solid, but when his career takes off and hers is just beginning, can they survive amid the glitz & glam of Hollywood?

I can’t begin to explain how much I love Alice Clayton’s writing style. She has such a way of creating brilliant humor in her books and at the same time ensuring that you can sense the vulnerabilities of the character between all the jokes.

As Grace & Jack try to make their private relationship work in the middle of a town that feeds on gossip they find that the attention might just be too much. Grace, although older always felt like she was still emotionally youthful, letting Jack be the one that always pushed that their relationship would work. But for the first time, Grace has to put her big-girl-panties on and help guide her George through the pitfalls of celebrity life.

But when Jack seems to lose all ability to just be himself, between the cameras, the fans and a few unsavory friends; he tries to escape his new world by indulging in the party world of Hollywood.

Although this book still packed the humor quite well, the story was far more serious than the others. I don’t think I’ve ever shed a tear during an Alice Clayton book (other than laughing until I cried), but this one did me in. There are a few emotional scenes that just made me want hug both Grace and Jack and tell them everything would be okay.

Grace’s character grows so much during this book from the first. She is finally embracing her new life and has the confidence to not cower when pushed. I loved seeing her development through this series. Jack on the other hand took a few steps back, finally showing his age. Which in turn made me adore him just a bit more.

I am not sure if we’ll ever see more of these two characters down the road. But this series will remain one of my favorite romance/comedy reads. I really wanted to see this end with an epilogue that just made us all feel warm and fuzzy. But we get no epilogue, so maybe somewhere in the not too distant future we might get a little Novella that gives us a complete ending to this series.

Schmaltz

I am such a HUGE fan of this series. LIKE. HUGE! I’ve read the first two books, like, a million times. You don’t know how much this couple means to me; how much this series means to me. Jack is my all-time favorite Brit Book Boyfriend. He was my first non Mr. Darcy, non-PNR and completely Adult contemporary Brit Boyfriend. Jack means the world to me. And as for Grace, well she’s just fucking fantastic. I love that she was older, curvier, whip-smart and flat out fun as hell.

This is so bittersweet for me. I can’t believe it’s finally over. OMG, I think I’m starting to freak out now. I mean, there will be no more George & Gracie.
No more Sweet Nuts & Nuts Girl.
No more sexy British accent.
No more hitting the J-spot.
No more happy trails or sparkly boobies.
No more Golden Girls.
No more scratching of Jack’s head.
No more super sexy Scientist Guy.
No more sexy lip biting.
No more schmaltz.

Sigh… No more Jack & Grace.

Yup, it’s official: I’m tearing up.

**Possible spoilers below**

Hamiltoned

For those looking for same funny moments similar to those in the previous books, you will be a little disappointed to know that this didn’t really contain a lot of those laugh out loud moments. This one had a little more drama and little more emotion to it.

It wasn’t perfect and I have to admit that I was a little nervous when I first started. I loved where book two ended, but a huge part of me craved for more. When I first read the synopsis to this, my first thought was, “oh, fuck! Nothing better happen my Jack and Grace.” I was so freaking nervous. But let me ease your minds a bit by saying it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Yes, Jack was a bit of a knob in this story, but rest assured, he does prevail.

Speaking of my favorite Brit, I felt so much emotion for Jack. He was spiraling out of control and as much as Grace wanted to help him, he just kept pushing her away. I didn’t like to see my perfect Brit behave this way. Plus it didn’t help that they couldn’t be together publicly. I had such a hard time believing the reasons why and as much as it frustrated me, I eventually, yet albeit reluctantly, understood. But still. I wanted everyone in the world to know that they were together. When that finally happened, I literally had a huge, goofy, stupid smile on my face. I must’ve read that part at least another three times because all I could think about was FINALLY! **Fist pump**

Grand gesture

Le Sigh…

I really don’t know what else to say, except to say once again that I will so miss this series. When I finished it, I was happy, yes, but it was so bittersweet. What are the chances Ms. Clayton will give us an extended epilogue or something? I would DIE of happiness for one more little snippet of my favorite couple. But alas, I can only hope. At least I will always have these books to turn to if I’m ever in a book funk. Jack and Grace have forever imprinted themselves in my heart and in my soul. I just love this couple to pieces. Thank you Ms. Clayton for giving us this series. Seriously. This series is one of my all-time favorites and I’m glad you gave us proper closure to this fantastic series. Just bloody brilliant.

My Grace and Jack:

The world of fame, paparazzi, drugs, partying and never ending diets. Yep, that is Hollywood. And that is also what Jack’s and Grace’s lives have become...

I didn’t really like the direction this series took. Comparing to previous books, roles of main protaginists were completely reversed. Level-headed Jack turned into spoiled irritating brat. Crazy and fooolish Grace lost her touch and became maybe more mature but otherwise quite boring character. I never liked when authors change drastically their characters and this book is no exception.

This book definitely confirmed that Jack and Grace are not doing it for me as a couple. However, this instalment had plenty of drama and I liked that a lot. Redhead Plays Her Hand is probably my favourite part in the series. However, I was slightly disappointed by totally anti-climatic last couple of chapters.

It saddened me a lot that this series went from beyond amazing to just very frustrating. I’m trying to search for the right things to say, but I just really want to curl up in a ball and cry right now. The first two books were really great. Why? Why did it have to turn out this way? It just sucked going through this journey. Could I pretend that I hadn't read the last book at all?

This Jack Hamilton was not the same guy I had known. He's a stranger in my eyes now. He completely went downhill and I had been doubting him the entire time. Oh! I had tried to understand him sooo many times. But my patience had been tested far too much and no amount of words could describe how fucking annoying he was! He did not win me over and I was not charmed anymore!

The book had its really good moments, but the not good moments had shrouded them in my eyes. In my opinion, their relationship would not work in the long run. Sure, they sought each other's security and comfort, but this guy needed a lot more growing up. How many more 'Adam' would come and test their relationship? This doesn’t matter if they got a strong foundation but I noticed that either one of them would go astray when external forces tried to rip them apart. And solutioning it with marriage? Oh please, that's just another divorce in the making. Too judgmental of me to say that. But I would rather want them to have a strong foundation first 'cuz the way it all ended felt like there was still no stability. All the sexing would never be enough. The heat would somehow fade. Then, what would happen next?

Yeah, of course, they could still learn and grow together. But going through this entire journey, then the ending being so open-ended and left me questioning if their relationship would really work... Well, that sucked! Because the ending just felt like they're in the eye of the storm... calm, for now, but eventually another destruction was bound to happen...

The way some issues were left unresolved. There were also too much avoidance going on… And when he said I'm sorry, all's been forgiven already? Just when I thought he’s about to get his shit together… Gah! So many things kept on piling up....

So right now, I'm deeply crushed. It left me thinking that he could be a manwhore in the making or if not, perhaps he'd want to play the field more in the future or he'd go back to heavy drinking again or when pressure caught up, he'd seek the highs of drugs once more. If it left me with doubts like these, then certainly there's something lacking in his character.

I'd read a lot of series. Some were too disappointing, but this last book's by far on the top of that lists because Jack Hamilton was the guy I fell in love with so hard, then he fucking ripped my heart into pieces! He tried to glue it all together, but it's never been the same. Now, how am I supposed to move on? :(

So, Alice Clayton completely kicked my ass with this book.

This series is one of my very favorites. Jack & Grace have something special, their chemistry and the way they play off each other and banter is so much fun to read. I can’t get enough of them together, so this was definitely one of my most highly anticipated books of the year. The Redhead Plays Her Hand still has that special Jack & Grace something but it also has a much different feel than the first two books of this series.

Grace is just about to begin filming on her new series, in which she is the star. Meanwhile, Jack is still the talk of Hollywood and beginning work on a new movie. They are still keeping their relationship a secret, even though just about every media outlet suspects they are an item. After some not so pleasant run-ins with paparazzi, and tabloids dragging Grace through the mud about her weight and their “are they or aren’t they” romance, Jack begins to have a bit of a downward spiral. He starts going out and partying it up with his costar, Adam Kasen, Hollywood asshole/bad boy.

While things aren’t overly dramatic or angsty, there is definitely a shift and Grace is worried about her Brit. I have to say, that did go on a bit too long. I think because of Grace’s screw up in The Redhead Revealed and not wanting to come across as “the nagging girlfriend” leads to her going too easy on Jack. She attributed things to him being only twenty-four and wanting to blow of some steam, but she ultimately makes excuses for him. He’s been amazing and the grown up in the relationship thus far so this was Grace’s time to step up and be the solid one (which she did), but there was some dysfunction/miscommunication between them, and too many almost conversations. Or being distracted by Jack’s charming, silly, boobie-addicted ways and really who could blame her?!
“No way. Uh-uh. No boobies till we talk.” I tucked the sheets under each armpit and clenched my hands at my sides.
“How about one booby? One booby while we talk, and if I can contain myself, then I get them both before breakfast,” he offered, throwing his hands up in the air in supplication.
“How old are you?” I asked, raising one eyebrow.
“You know ruddy well how old I am. Recovery time, remember? Now drop the sheet on the left one and talk woman.” He poked me in the left shoulder.
Sighing, I adjusted the sheet so that the… good lord… so that the “left one” was out.
“Okay, what were we talking about?” he asked it.
“Eyes up here, George. It’s out, but you still have to make eye contact.”

Even though Jack is acting up and not his usual self, I still loved him. He is one of my favorite book boyfriends and always will be. It really broke my heart to see how he was dealing with fame and the wake his self-destruction was leaving behind. Some parts were really hard to read and I swear my chest was literally aching at times for what he was going through. Then there is the way he loves his Gracie. He seriously melts me and I’m so proud of how he loves her just how she is. When she is asked to lose weight, he is totally against it -probably for the love of the boobies ;) - and I LOVED that.

I’m also extremely proud of how Grace dealt with what was asked of her and the criticism she faced. She has grown so much since the start of this series and become such a confident woman. There were so many times I wanted to high five her and then pour her a drink and cheers.
And in that moment, I realized how out of control everything had become. Big, small, curvy, or bony, beauty was beauty. I was healthy. I was exactly the size I was supposed to be, and that was it.

What I love about this book is that I just know how much Grace and Jack love each other. There was never a moment of doubt. They have such an intense bond and they just feel right as a couple for me.
In this moment, in this car, on this stretch of highway, we were a couple in love. We were not an older woman and a younger man, Jack wasn’t the Sexiest Man Alive, but he was the sexiest man in my world. I wasn’t an up-and-coming actress who’d been asked about the size of her boyfriend’s dick the night before by a total stranger, I was a girl in a convertible in my pajamas, holding hands with the man I was in love with.

Of course, they are still hot as ever and although things are tense at times between them, there is no lack of sexy time. Thank goodness!
“Fucking Nuts Girl, do you know what you do to me?” …
“I thought you didn’t dance,” I said, pushing my hips into his, relishing in the lust that was cooking on this dance floor.
He turned me roughly in his arms, hitching one of my legs up around his hips, his fingers dangerously close to my panties. He plays with the lace, slipping underneath and grazing me, watching as my eyes grew wide.
“I’m not dancing,” he breathed, then crushed his mouth to mine.

From the moment I finished The Redhead Revealed and read the blurb for The Redhead Plays Her Hand, I have been nervous. Months later and beginning this book, I was still nervous. Then while reading, yup, you guessed it. Nervous. Anxious. Knots. Like I said, it completely kicked my ass. I think because I feel so much for these characters, even the moments that weren't meant to be dramatic, they felt like a bigger deal because I just love them so freaking much.

I sooo highly recommend this series and I really LOVED how everything ended up. Alice Clayton can write comedy, drama, and romance with such great ease. There are plenty of sexy, funny parts mixed in with the more serious tone of this book to keep it fresh and fun like always. I was completely emotionally invested and I can still say, I want more George & Gracie!
“I love you.”
“I love you more.”
“Not bloody likely.”

4 SWEET NUTS LOVING STARS!!!

 photo image_zps0b686973.jpg

Oh how I LOVE the "Redhead" series.
It has everything I love in a story.
A lovable and down to earth heroine.
She is a character, many women can relate to.
Plus, oh my god, is this woman HYSTERICALLY FUNNY!!!

I've loved Grace since the first book and also have been fan girling over Alice Clayton since "Wallbanger". This woman has "THE GIFT" of writing hilarious stories.
She made me laugh out loud so many times.

The other HUGE reason why I love this story is JACK HAMILTON (aka Sweetnuts)
I love this man!!
I want to have his babies!! Oh boy I'm head over heels for this fictional character.
I've moved him up to the #2 spot on my Book Boyfriends list.

 photo image_zps1720c639.jpg

So we waited what seemed like an ETERNITY for this book to come out. It was supposed to come out in the Spring but then the release date kept getting pushed back.
And I was getting so FRUSTRATED!!
I needed more of HOT AS HELL JACK and one of my fave book heroines, Grace (aka NUTS Girl)

I have to say I went into this one with a little bit of trepidation!
Because the first two books were fabulous.
I had a tiny fear that this book would not measure up.
This would devastate me because Jack and Gracie deserve to go out fantastically!!!

Well I am bummed, because my fears were realized.
This book was good, but it's not Five star worthy like the first two were.
My funny Grace hardly made an appearance.
She was more the mature adult in this one and Jack switched roles with her.
Jack was struggling throughout the story.
He was in "crisis".
The angst was almost unbearable at times.

The sexy times were good, when they were to be had, but there was less of it in this one.
The two were separated because Jack was on location, filming a new movie.

The story was good and I guess it was even realistic since we see so many young actors get overwhelmed by success and go down a dark path.
I didn't like seeing Jack go down that road.
It was heartbreaking.

Grace was experiencing success but also battling Hollywood's unrealistic expectations on what makes a woman have sex appeal.
I liked this part of the story.
Grace sort of gets over her hangups about her physical appearance.
She is a beautiful woman with curves and grows comfortable in her own skin.
That had a lot to do with how Jack made her feel.
Oh how I love Jack.
He never made her feel that she was anything less than beautiful.

But so many pages were wasted on gossip magazine and tabloid excerpts.
I'd rather have had more of the Grace and Jack story instead of reading the tabloid stories.

It just felt like the love and passion that was put into the first two books, was missing in this one.

I believe the book is still good but I wanted it to be SPECTACULAR.

I'm not going to get into the Holly thing but yea, that's something I'd never do to a friend, especially a best friend.

The ending brought back some of the "Schmaltz" and the Jack and Grace I love!
BUT NO EPILOGUE!!???
What does this mean????
I'm praying to God, it means Alice is writing a 4th book.
This story can't just end the way it did.
I mean if that's it, then we should have gotten an epilogue just so we could find out how Jack & Grace were doing maybe a few years later.

I'll still always love this series and I am holding on to hope that there will be a 4th book that will be nothing less than PERFECTION, because that is what Grace & Jack deserve!!!

 photo image_zps2b214072.jpg

Dammit. He had me. A day without oral is simply a day not worth living.

I shivered at his touch, not just from the chill of the night but because his hands on me always caused the same effect. I needed him, always.

"That's five."
"What's five?"
he asked.
"You called me old. Every time you say something about frown lines or being old in general, that's five orgasms you owe me, got it?"

"There's only one redhead for me, Crazy, you know that. You're my one and only ginger."

I'd lost my biggest cheerleader, my shower partner, and the guy who made me laugh louder and moan deeper than anyone else ever could, all at the same time. And oh my God, it hurt.

3-1/2 stars, rounded up

I ended up really enjoying this final romp with Grace and Jack, as some genuine tension finally appeared in the story: Jack starts suffering from the relentless celebrity pressure and starts letting off steam in some not-too-good ways; Jack's fans start posting some nasty stuff about Grace; and Grace struggles with her naturally curvy weight versus the demands placed on her by Hollywood and her new TV show. I thought it was all handled well and realistically, and now I'm actually going to miss not having any more installments of this story to look forward to when I need a lighter read.

***4 glad my Jack is back Stars***

description

When I finished book 2 of The Redhead Series The Redhead Revealed, I was happy with the characters and where their relationship stood, I did not think a third book was needed and reading this did not change this opinion. Having said that, I did not mind another chance to read more about one of my favorite couples, Jack and Grace.

I did love this book but unfortunately not as much as the last two, I just felt like Jack and Grace were completely different people; While I loved that Grace grew, matured and was more confident, I hated that she seemed to lose the loveable crazy side of her. Jack pissed me off big time, while I understood what would drive a person to act the way Jack did, it just felt so out of character for him!! this is one reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5!!

Alice Clayton is an incredible writer and her ability to write an amazing book that combines humor with angst is evident in 'The Redhead Plays Her Hand', there is less humor here than in the first book but more angst than the second. There were parts that made me teary, sweet moments that were adorable and some scenes that pissed me off big time!

I loved the banter between Jack and Grace, always had me smiling from ear to ear. The sex scenes were sweet, funny and hot as hell! I was happy to reconnect with these two again, I just wish we had more of an epilogue though and I thought Jack needed to grovel more, Grace forgave him acting like a total ass quite quickly in my opinion!

Even though this book did not do it for me like the first two books, The Redhead Series is still one of my favorites. I shall miss Jack and Grace, the brilliant one liners and the sexual innuendos... Cannot wait to read more of Alice Clayton and I am sure whatever she comes up with will be amazing, loved all her books so far.

4 Awesome stars!!

I am a HUGE fan of Alice Clayton's writing and I LOVED this series!

I am just writing a few words on this book as it is a series and i cant say much without giving anything away

To sum it up... Jack became 10 x more famous and has troubles dealing with it all.

Grace finally gets her series which turns out to be a hit, naturally they need her to loose weight and be a size 0 and after living on air and cucumber and loosing the weight, Grace picks it all up.

Grace and Jack always hiding their relationship and dealing with peoples hate comments about Grace dating a younger man adds to their worries.

When... Jack spirals out of control....
and finally when he almost hits rock bottom Grace is still at his side!

Grace finds peace with herself, gets the guy she loves and yes, there is a HEA...

I just can't continue - I have picked up the book numerous times and then had to put it back down.

I just can't - *lowering head in shame (this is the first DNF book from NG)

I love Alice Clayton and all her books but I think it was because I fell in love with Grace and Jack in the first two books, that this one truly disappointed me. I started to hate Jack and I was frustrated with Grace.

I wanted to keep my fairy tale fantasies continuing to believe that relationships with older women/younger men can work along with the heroine not being Kate Moss skinny!

"I"m so in love with you, Grace, and I'm dying to kiss you."
"I'm kind of dying for you to kiss me."

I didn't realize how much I missed Jack and Grace until all the "Mr. Hamiltons," "Crazy," "sweet Nuts," and boob holding.  Jack and Grace are one the most vivacious and positively shining book couples. They're charming, hilarious and just make you want to be their friend.

Jack Hamilton is Hollywood's "it" man.  After his debut film, Time, went wild at the box office, he is now a household name.  This time it's Grace's turn at a chance for stardom. In Redhead Revealed, Grace traveled to New York to star in a play written by her good friend, Michael.  In this installment, that play is being adapted for television, "Mabel's Unstable."  That's right, Grace is getting her very own TV show!  Not everything is coming up roses for Grace and Jack.  Swarms of paparazzi and flashing lights follow Jack and Grace's every move.  And Grace is feeling the pressure to be perfect for her new role after her best friend and agent, Holly, tells her the director wants more cheekbone.  That's Hollywood code for lose some weight.

"You nap. I'll sort out the sandwiches. You want the chicken salad?" He asked.
"Yeah, sounds good, and get me a bag of Chex Mix and - Wait! No, get me a cucumber, and some air. I can have as much air as I want."

Jack begins to film a new war-themed motion picture that isn't a high-budget blockbuster and more ensemble cast focused.  One of his new co-stars is a man by the name of Adam Kasen.  Adam used to be the Hollywood "it" boy before some bad career moves and Hollywood scandals tainted his image and transported him on the Hollywood's "D" list.  But now this Adam fellow starts hanging around Gracie's Hamilton and I didn't like it one bit! I wanted him out before he was even fully in the picture.  It didn't take long for Adam's naughty influence to have an effect my Jack and really start to piss me off.

Jack made me really angry in this book. As his star grew brighter and his name was everywhere, he begins to have some problems dealing with his fame.  He makes some dumb choices - choices that push Grace away.  Jack's downward spiral into the dark celebrity abyss was really sad and disappointing to me as a Hamilton lover.  What was most frustrating for me was the Jack had people around him that cared and who were reaching out to him, but he actively refused to talk about his feelings to anyone, including Grace.  It pains me to say it but Jack Hamilton isn't perfect. As much as I want to believe he is, he's not.

Due to Jack's decisions, Grace is forced to be the parent in their relationship. She calls him out on his bad behavior and decision-making.  Many times, Jack even completely deflects talking about it.  That was a recipe for absolute disaster and reader frustration.  Grace has her own battles in this book.  The press makes a big deal about her weight and the fact that she's plus-size in the Hollywood world.  Not to mention, she has to deal with her strained relationship with Jack.

"No, this behavior was only partly Adam. The rest was Jack. And Jack had hurt me tonight. Coming late, clearly under the influence and bringing Adam? I was pissed."

I wanted to love this book because I absolutely adore Grace and Jack, but there were several things that did not work for me.  The paparazzi played a big role in this book.  Overall, I felt like the whole paparazzi storyline was really flat. The mention of the paparazzi was really repetitive to the point where I got sick of hearing about them.  I was aware they were there and didn't need to be reminded of their presence over and over again.  Additionally, the main conflicts in the book (the paparazzi, fame, and Adam's presence) just kind of stayed stagnant for the majority of the book.  Not much happened between 35% and the 80% mark.  From 80% until the end, it picked up and I couldn't put it down.  I did love the ending of the book.

Even though, I didn't love this book as much as the other two in the series, I would still recommend the series. Jack and Grace are funny and memorable. I love the unique way Alice Clayton weaves humor and romance together and cannot wait for her upcoming novels.

If you've read the first two books, you'll be familiar with Jack and Grace. Grace has her new series coming up and Jack is rising in popularity.

This book we saw glimpses of the old Jack and the love he feels for Grace was never questioned, but I felt for part of the book, he was a different person and my heart was hurting.

how long are you on an all air diet?

Grace has matured and grown up but I wanted the carefree crazy girl back. I felt although with good reason she spent the majority a nagging girlfriend.

The sex was still sexy, there was humour but this was more angsty. Why do I get the feeling there maybe another book in the making? No matter what still one of my favourite couples x

I am so disappointed with this book. I have read the first two in this series and enjoyed it.

But I really disliked this one.

Grace Sheridan should have been so much stronger, should have stood up for herself and how she was treated. I hated Jack in this book. What he did was purely stupid. I also hated how easily Grace forgives him. She barely let's him say his piece before she jumps eagerly and forgives him.

I know that people think that if you really love him, then forgive him. But what Jack did here was irresponsible. Not only the whole downward spiral he went through, but the fact that he didn't call her for weeks. While she pined away heart broken and uncertain, he was out partying. So excuse me if I feel a little uncharitable when all he had to say was, I am sorry, and explain what happened and how lost he was, and voila, forgiveness awaited him.

Honestly, I pitied Grace. She was so dependent on him emotionally that she was almost blindly eager to forgive him.

*****5 OH- Mother-Of-Pearl Stars*****

Huge smile on my face right now; reading this book feels like coming home to me. Ever since I read the first one I fell utterly in love with this characters and Alice Clayton's writing style, Sweet-Nuts and Crazy will live in my heart forever.

On this third and last novel we follow Jack and our beloved Redhead as they juggle their busy careers, the pressures of show business and their relationship. Let me just tell you folks, Tinseltown is not being nice to Jack and Grace, ruthless is more like it; between the crazy fans, the annoying paparazzi and the Hollywood execs the struggles are endless. In previous books Jack was always the more mature one of the relationship but this time he is not coping well with all the fame, driving him out of control but Grace was a true champion and she stuck to her man even when he kept pushing her away with his crazy antics. Grace has now become the curvy TV star of a new hit show who is dating a Hollywood hunk that everybody wants a piece of, but her wit and sparkling personality will help her shine through and win all the critics.

One tiny complain I have about this book was all the unnecessary posts about the Hollywood gossip headlines, I think my girl Alice went a bit over board with those and I would have much prefer to read more about Jack, Grace and their friends; Holly, by the way was absolutely amazing in this book, looooved her! Regardless of anything there was no way I could ever rate this book anything less than five stars, because I just loved the angst, the steam, the love, the fun of this story and it always makes me crazy happy and I'm sure that whoever reads this unforgettable series would swoon and enjoy it just as much.

Another reason why this series is so special to me is because The Redhead brought me together with my best book buddy ReeRee, we bonded instantly over all things Jack and Grace, she has become one of my best friends and even though we live far away from each other the fun times and long chats about books make my days better.

My Redhead Plays her Hand Playlist:

*Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood
*Glitter in The Air by P!nk
*I'd rather be With You by Joshua Radin

4 BIG STARS!

Alright, The Redhead series, what can I say about it?

Did it make me laugh out loud? A lot.
Did I love the characters immensely? Absolutely.
Will I miss it? Hell yes.

I finally finished reading this amazing series and I don’t know whether I’m happy because it ended perfectly or sad because It’s over.

My Jack and Grace:

description

Grace (Crazy, Nuts Girl, Gracie, etc) is freaking fantastic. I LOVE to read a book where I can connect so much with the character. Her POV was hilarious and although she could be a little immature sometimes, I loved her. I hate to say this but I preferred the Gracie from the first two books… maybe it was because there was a lot of drama in this one and she didn’t know how to handle it properly or because Jack was being an ass most of the time and she easily forgave him… She should have stood up for herself more often. Unfortunately, her relationship with Jack (in this book) made her confidence go away, but of course, at the end of the book she overcame her demons and went back to be the sassy, confident, hilarious Gracie we all loved.

Jack, Jack, Jack… Ahh while reading this third and last book I wanted to punch you in your pretty face. Okay, I knew fame was going to affect him, it was pretty obvious, but I couldn’t hate him… How can you hate The Brit when he’s so hot, charming and funny? You just can’t. Once you fall in love with him, there’s no going back. Thanks the lord he decided to stay away from stupid Adam and get back to be our dear George. Sweet Nuts is definitely my favorite Brit Book Boyfriend <3

You know when there’s a hot and amazing couple and you ship them so damn hard you want to cry? Well, that’s the case for Gracie and George. Their chemistry was powerful and so addicting! They were perfect for each other; I couldn’t get enough of them. Their silly nicknames, hot sex, hilarious conversations, cute relationship and every little thing they shared was perfect. I will miss them so bad.

I’m such a HUGE fan of Alice Clayton’s writing. Two years ago, if you had told me I’d be laughing out loud and snorting while reading a book I wouldn’t have believed you. The Cocktail and Redhead series are my all time favorites, I wouldn’t mind re-reading them 392809 times. I don’t know how she does it, but the female characters she creates are GREAT; there’s no way someone could hate Caroline and Grace. Her amusing and entertaining writing style is addictive and it captivates me the second I start reading.

Unfortunately, it’s time to say goodbye to these great characters. I LOVED these books and I totally recommend them!

The series that began with fits of giggles and made me become a George and Gracie fan ends with bouts of angst and smiles. As a fan of the Redhead Series and Alice Clayton, The Redhead Plays Her Hand has a slight difference in feel than the first two books in the series. Jack and Grace are more in love than ever, but trouble looms on the edge as they try to cope with their celebrity statuses in the overwhelming Hollywood glamour.

Grace has returned from New York and our power couple are comfortable and happy. Unstable Mable? is now being made into a television show with Grace as the star. Jack is still the "It" boy of film and one of the most wanted actors in Hollywood, beginning a new film with the fallen bad boy of Hollywood, Adam Kasen. Bad boy doesn't begin to describe Adam, as he wants to be back on top with the golden boy status and doesn't care to expend Jack and Grace. Even if it means using Jack and Grace's vulnerability and feeding them to the wolves...the paparazzi. Jack was a very different character in this book, as he and Grace tended to reverse roles.

I have to admit that it pained me to watch the downward spiral of Jack as he struggled to handle his fame as the most sought after actor in Hollywood. Along with the influence of his new friend, Adam (grrrrrr) and trying to keep his relationship with Grace a secret, he began the short journey to his own demise. He and Grace are separated once again while he is on location in the desert, and Grace is still in L.A. The paparazzi are stalking to the point of compromising their safety, and the fans and media are relentless in their damaging comments.

Grace is under constant fire as the "alleged" girlfriend of the man whom every girl in the world wants a piece of. Her age, her size, her new-found "star" status is all under scrutiny as she's berated by blogs, fans, and reporters as finding fame by her linkage to Jack Hamilton. She's a much stronger character in this installment, learning quickly how to handle the publicity and reporters and keeping vigil over Jack. Grace has become the adult in their relationship, while still trying to adjust to her new role as star, fit into Hollywood's ideal image, and keep hold of the man she loves when Hollywood and Jack's fans are battling against her.

I understand...although I didn't like... Grace's passivity of Jack's problems and near belligerent attitude at times, and I really felt for her as she tried time after time to get Jack to open his eyes to his actions and the effect it was having on everyone around him. Fun and happy Jack was a very different person in this book than we've seen in the past. He's no longer the sweet and wise guy we fell in love with, but the overwrought man who is on the verge of hitting rock bottom and becoming the party boy of Hollywood. Although she attempted to help him, Grace still just brushed off Jack's issues as a product of his age and a need to sow his wild oats....again, her denial that his problems were escalating.

The heat and sexy seems to be kicked up a notch in this installment. Although Jack and Grace are dealing with so many issues -- Grace's self-image, Jack's illicit behavior, and their careers -- their bedroom activities never suffered. Their chemistry and bond in the bedroom makes everything and everyone else disappear with the delivery of even more schmexy.

While I had a hard time putting this book down, the first 50% was slow moving for me. The witty comments, pet names, and romance were there, but the humor was not quiet as strong as in the previous books. When the angsty moments hit, they hit big and hard, creating a stronger hold between the pages and me. While I felt the ending was a bit abrupt, it was still perfect and left me with a huge smile. This is a very fast read that is sweet, leaving room to take this series farther or perhaps with a spin-off novel. Side note: To all of us who struggle with weight, size, and age, this book is written for us, as the author presents the message that healthy is better, age is just a number, and success can come regardless of stereotypical requirements.

I’ve been amazed by how each book in the Redhead series has a distinctive tone, providing the reader with something different every time while maintaining a perfect fluidity throughout. In The Unidentified Redhead, we are charmed with laugh-out-loud humor and steamy sexy times as Grace and Jack pursue their new relationship. The Redhead Revealed still offers a good dose of humor and sexiness, but focuses on Grace coming to terms with her self worth and her insecurities as Jack’s older girlfriend.

The Redhead Plays Her Hand feels like a natural progression in this final story, and centers around Jack trying to get a handle on becoming a superstar just as Grace’s career starts to take off.

I’ve always adored Jack. He’s witty, handsome, sexy, humble, insightful, and patient. Although he’s nine year’s Grace’s junior, he’s always been the more mature one in their relationship -- until now. Overwhelmed with the demands placed on him as Hollywood’s hottest celebrity, Jack goes off the rails and wanders into some pretty dangerous territory until he’s virtually unrecognizable from the Jack everyone loves. Meanwhile, Grace is cast as the lead in a new cable TV dramedy. It’s her dream role. The only problem is the producers want her to lose 15 pounds. And she’s a size 8! It sparks a nationwide debate over women’s body images and Grace is smack dab in the middle. It’s Grace’s turn to be the grown-up, to act with grace under pressure, be strong, and fight for her man -- all the while continuing to keep her relationship with Jack a secret.

This book definitely lacks the humor and sex for which the previous books were known. However, the chemistry between Grace and Jack is undeniable. Seeing Jack’s downward spiral and Grace’s despair at her inability to help him was heartbreaking, but it made me feel more invested in the couple. I came to appreciate how much each of them had grown throughout the series and I adored them even more.

I finished the book with a smile on my face but feeling incomplete. Alice Clayton, you killed me with that ending. No epilogue? Really?!?! I will miss my Gracie and George and always wonder what happened after…

4 SWEET NUTS TARS!!!

I LOVE the "Redhead" series.
I've loved Grace and Jack since the first book...

In this book all the maturity that Jack had in the first two books disappeared and honestly I didn't like it very much.
But I loved the way Grace become a star too, she deserved it!!!!!

The Brit will be back!!!! YES!!!

*sigh* George and Crazy are perfect. The only thing I didn't like is when George started acting like a bloody fool. Brit, you're no Lindsay Lohan!

I've missed these two. It's been almost two years since I read the first two books.

Jack(George) and Grace(Crazy) are both having some problems with paparazzi following them daily. They try to keep their relationship a secret even though it's getting harder and harder with every upcoming day.

Jack is taking out his frustrations by going out to clubs with a known bad boy he met when he was shooting a movie which ultimately lead to him going down the dark path. Grace was the mature one in their relationship and she tried to help Jack.

At the same time Grace was dealing with her own problems-being a woman in the film industry means shedding pounds so she would be 'sexier'. Even though it was to be expected, I still felt bad for Grace. No woman deserves to be viewed only as an object-because, that's what they wanted her to be. I'm glad she ultimately overcame that obstacle.

This book wasn't as funny as the previous two were but that didn't mean I liked it less.

I did like the ending but I still feel like we should've seen more of Jack and Grace. Hope there's a fourth book as well. I would read it as well.

Grace and Jack are back and the fun never stops with this hilarious couple. This time around, Grace is back in Los Angeles after the musical she was preparing to be the lead in wasn’t picked up. However, a network expressed interest in developing the musical for television and Grace was asked to return to the role she originated on stage for the small screen. Jack is on location filming his next movie but finds himself back in LA more often so we get plenty of face time between this couple, something that was missing a little from the previous book. But Jack has some issues that threaten to come between he and Grace, issues that are primarily his own doing but he’s hanging around with a bad influence and we’re left hoping that he opens his eyes to the reality that his life’s become before it’s too late.

Grace and Jack are still feeling their way as a couple. They still aren’t officially out to the public, Jack wants to be but their shared manager Holly says keep it quiet and Grace goes along with that for now. While the fun, the laughs and craziness that I’ve come to love in this series is still present here, I liked that the couple has some serious issues to get through. The biggest being Jack and his sudden change into a hard partying, drinking and even drug using young man. He shows his age here, arguably, for the first time in this series as he falls in with the wrong Hollywood crowd and one specific actor who is bad news and is using Jack to try and make his own star rise again. Jack doesn’t see it, he’s stressed about how quickly his life has changed and all the new demands on his time and life he has to deal with now and he compensates by rebelling. He spirals down fast and even Grace can’t make him see reason. He does hit rock bottom and it’s very bad and proves to be a real test to his relationship with Grace and whether or not they’ll be able to work through it.

Grace is the star of this story, like she has been for the entire series. This time, it’s her own Hollywood star that starting to burn a little brighter as her new show is getting some great buzz prior to its premiere. Granted, the early buzz is related to her “maybe” relationship to Jack and it’s a tough pill to swallow for her, constantly having Jack mentioned in any article or interview she’s trying to do for her own show, the focus is never fully on her. Add to that, the network thinks Grace is a little too heavy and wants her to lose some weight. She has enough stress to deal with and the time when she needs her support system around her, namely Jack, he’s off letting loose on the town and not being the shoulder that Grace needs to lean on. What I love about Grace (one of many things) is she’s tough, she can get through practically anything on her own, and I loved seeing her deal with everything thrown at her, all the good, bad and ugly. Plus, her new diet is one that only Grace can come up with:

He [Jack] stood with me, picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder like a bag of overexercised potatoes. “You nap. I’ll sort out the sandwiches. You want the chicken salad?” he asked. “Yeah, sounds good, and get me a bag of Chex Mix and – Wait! No, get me a cucumber, and some air. I can have as much air as I want.” He chuckled as I put my arms in the air, gesturing for him to remove my sweatshirt.

“Cucumber and air, got it. How long are you on the all air diet?”

“Until I don’t have to carry a big purse.”

I’d say this story is a little heavier overall than the two previous books. The lightness and fun is still there, but Jack and Grace both have a lot of things to work through, both professionally and personally and while I have no doubt this couple is in it for the long haul, it’s not an easy road. But everything I’ve come to love about them still shines through, the sexiness, the laughs and even the tears.

An interesting and fun development occurs for Holly and Grace’s friend Michael. I won’t spoil the little surprise but I’d love it if Alice Clayton gave us a novella expanding on what goes down for these two supporting characters. I like that the supporting characters are getting a little bigger role in the overall series storylines, they’re not just there for a laugh or two and I’d like to get to know all the supporting characters a little more, outside of their roles in Grace and Jack’s lives.

This series continues to be pure entertainment and I can’t get enough. I love seeing the relationship grow and change for this hot Hollywood couple and I’m excited to see what’s in store for Jack and Grace next.

4 I LOVE JACK FOREVER STARS!

A fun, hot, charming end to one of my all time favorite series.

Oh I am sooooo sad to see the series end! I read the first two books in this series over a year ago, and was still able to pick right up and read this final installment and fully enjoy it!! Alice Clayton works that brilliant writing ability that she has that makes her characters so damn real and relateable, like no other!

I will say that I was surprised to see that she was doing a book 3 for this series. Especially with it being so long after the first two books. I thought that the second book ended perfectly and left them in a good place. But I was so happy that we were getting to spend more time with these beloved characters that I didn't question. I do think that the story went about the only way that it had left to go, and at times, it was a bit predicable for me. But not enough that I didn't like the book or the plot in this one, because I did. It just definitely wasn't as intense as the first two books were.

It was really difficult watching Jack go through the struggles that he did in this one. It broke my heart actually. He finally showed his age. But again, what happened to him is the same trap that so much of young Hollywood falls into, so it felt real. In no way was it drama for the sake of drama. And Grace? I flippin' love this chick!! Like, seriously want to be friends with her! Talk about a kick-ass heroine!! I loved her for being herself and loved the way she stood up to her critics!! She reminds me of an American Kate Winslet!! (Who I adore!!) There needs to be more actresses like her in Hollywood!

It was great to be able to check in on the rest of the gang as well like Holly, Michael, and Lane....oh God Lane!! Alice - can you please write this hottie his own book?! Pretty please? :)

Castings:

For Grace, I always thought the model on the cover was perfect.

My Jack:
 photo unnamed_zps34cba248.jpg

Some of my fave quotes from this one:
"There's only one redhead for me, Crazy, you know that. You're my one and only ginger." - Jack

"If I apologize naked, will that hold any more weight than a clothed apology?" - Jack

"Nothing could be so bad that I would even think of not being with you. Don't you know that? And of course I still love you, Jack. Of course I do" - Grace

My only major bone was the lack of epilogue. Come on!! The book really needed an epilogue. The ending felt abrupt due to the lack of one. But, we'll see. Maybe it is for a reason. Maybe Alice has a few tricks left up her sleeve with these characters... I would like to hope so! ;)

I otherwise, really liked this one. Alice Clayton remains one of my very favorite authors. I will really miss these characters!!!

***sigh*** I do love me some Jack Hamilton!

I was so excited to read this book and now I am a little sad to think that this may be the last book in this series (I'm not sure if it is or not but I don't see mention of any more from the author). I also don't feel like this series needs another book even though I will miss Jack.

This book picks up the story where Grace is starting work on her new TV show and still fairly unknown apart from her connection to Jack. Jack is working on a new movie and dealing with the pressure of being a celebrity. They are together again (after their break up in the second book) but often separated due to Jack's filming commitments. The combined pressures that they are under with their careers put a strain on their relationship and this book is about how they deal with that.

I love Alice Clayton's writing style. It is witty and easy to read - I read this book in less than a day. I have to admit though that this book didn't seem as funny as the first two. Grace who is a crazy chick, and renowned for providing the funny in the first two books was a lot more mature in this book. Her character has grown a lot throughout this series and while I missed her crazy antics a little in this book, I enjoyed watching her grow into herself and become more comfortable in her own skin. I think a lot of women can relate to her character - with the dilemmas she faced ie weight issues and boyfriend issues. Jack, on the other hand, lost his way in this book. I felt that this was probably a very true representation of a hot new 24 year old actor in Hollywood and I think that the author portrayed this well.

While reading this book I realised just how much I adore these angsty celebrity books! The angst wasn't over the top but it was there and I loved it. These two characters are trying to work through their relationship problems but the issues remain throughout the book and the building of those problems kept me turning the pages, waiting for it all to explode and see where it would all fall.

I also really enjoyed the side characters and the side storyline of Grace's friendship with Holly, her best friend. Every girl needs a friendship like these two have! Oh, and this book made me tear up a few times which I really never expected!

If you loved the first two books in this series I am sure you will enjoy this one as well. The author combines a great plot with well developed characters to create a really good read!

30/11 - Jack was an ass in this book, at no point did I like him the way I did in the first two books in the series. He showed a side that the reader had never seen. Grace explained that it was part of his personality that had been hidden, deep down, but I felt like that was a cop-out for Clayton so that she could have Jack make a complete 180 and cause 'final book' drama (plus it would feel repetitive and immature if Grace, a 33-year-old made a fuss again) without needing to put hints of that into his personality in either of the previous books. Then there was Grace, who I found unexpectedly weak in a situation that I thought was set-up perfectly for her to stand up for her rights and her dignity.

There was a lot less sex than in either of the previous books (especially The Unidentified Redhead), but still they managed to have sex in inappropriate situations. There were at least three times where Grace let Jack talk her out of 'talking' in favour of having sex and that really irritated me. Relationship problems like substance abuse can't be solved by sex, no matter how fantastic it is. And as a family member of a recovering addict I did see his behaviour as a sign of possible abuse of a substance, not just 'having a little fun' or 'blowing off steam'.

I will continue reading Alice Clayton's books, this was just not a spectacular 'can't put it down' read for me.

MY BRIT BOY'S BACK - JACK - 'Sweet Nut's

The third in the 'Redhead' series by Alice Clayton. I love Clayton's writing style...she's amazing.

So the sizzling story continues when Grace works hard on her lead role in a new TV show.

Meanwhile, Jack - Sexiest Man Alive is struggling somewhat with the increased pressure of fame. What with the Media and fan fascination with the pair of them, 'are they/aren't they' a couple.....it leads to all sorts of shenanigans.

Jack...you know, you can always ditch Gracie - I know you like an older women

For me the first two books were amazing I loved them, but the third just didn't have the same appeal. I still enjoyed reading about 'Crazy' and 'Sweet nuts', I wouldn't have missed it for the world. But it wasn't my favourite of the series. Plus *grumble* at $10 it was quite expensive and had put me off getting it for a while, but in the end curiosity as to whether these two got their HEA... got the better of me!!

Update: Now that I have finally read the book, I have to say that I didn't love it. It felt more realistic in that Jack was due to show some major flaw (and it didn't involve someone of the opposite sex so that's a relief) but I really didn't enjoy reading about it. I've always struggled with them keeping their relationship secret. I know the reasoning behind it but it always makes my hackles rise when people have to hide that they are with someone. And I would personally be dead set on publicly claiming him if I was dating some Hollywood stud women threw themselves at. The other problem with this book was that they didn't really make any progress in their relationship until the very end. This is the third book in the series so I wanted to see more of their HEA. Hell, I don't even think he ever introduced her to his family.

Original Post:
Bummer about Jack turning into a hard-partying, Hollywood brat. He was such a good guy in the first two books (of course, except when he was kicked to the curb for no reason). Of course, we know he won't stay a brat but I'm still sad about the prospect of reading about him acting like a jerk.

I really hate to write this review. Let me start off by saying I absolutely loved the first two Redhead books. They were funny, witty, and I devoured them as fast as possible, twice. That being said, once I started reading The Redhead Plays Her Hand, I had to force myself to finish the book. I was highly disappointed. Everything I loved in the first two books was missing from this one. It was like I was reading a different author. I get that she couldn't just write about a happy couple without any type of drama because that would just be boring, but even the drama wasn't doing it for me. Plus, the book just kept repeating the same thing over and over it seemed. It was very tedious. I don't know what happened with this book, but it was far from what I expected. I hope you enjoy this one more than I did.
