Book One of Three

Aidan Iverson III, old money wealthy and blatant playboy, has never felt the need to be with one woman. Why, when he has the looks, money and a family name to rule the nightlife? And, when it thoroughly aggravates Grandfather?

LILLIAN SNOWE, do-it-yourself overachiever, has a plan to keep her father healthy and living in the home where he raised her. But, how can she, when the hospital bills are piling up, the bank wants their money and she is hundreds of miles away from home?

From the moment they meet, Aidan would have to be blind not to feel an attraction, especially with Lilli's work attire and feisty humor. When illness, death, debt and a mutual friend, bring these two together, feelings are hurt and someone is insulted. It takes determination, sneaky actions and cockiness to secure the deal. But, even with an iron clad marriage agreement and pre-nup in place, there are those who would seek to destroy the spark threatening to engulf our couple in a happily ever after.

So, Save the Date, because you are cordially invited to the seduction of Lilli Snowe.

★★★★! Save The Date, book 1 of 3. Aiden Iverson III’s attempt to keep family empire forces him into a desperate search for a wife!

“We fought about it endlessly. He even went as far as to set up meetings with prominent girls in our social circle, attempting to make me a one woman man with a purposeful relationship. When I would bed these girls and leave them, Grandfather finally gave up.”

The modern Arrangement trilogy is the story about Aidan Iverson III, man-whore and heir to a fortune, who in order not to lose the family empire is forced to marry and procure an heir. After a series of disappointing prospects he sets his sights on his financially strapped friend Lillian Snowe. Follow them in their relationship through ups and downs offering sexual tension and seduction, intrigue and suspense, betrayal and villains and above all a love against-all-odds.

Books in the Modern Arrangement Trilogy should be read in order:
Book 1: Save the Date
Book 2: Here Comes the Bride
Book 3: Happily Ever Addendum

In Save The Date (book 1) we are introduced to Aidan Iverson III with his aristocratic family background; Since the loss of his parents he has been working side-by-side with his grandfather in the family empire. We also learn that, aside from work he has no morals, he is partying and man-whoring his way through life not the least bit interested in settling down. Lillian Snowe, Lilli is his good friend Dixon’s roommate and off limits. Besides Lillian is busy holding down three jobs and attending College. Over time they develop a “bantering” friendship of sorts.

After the passing of his grandfather a stipulation in the will dictates that he must marry and procure an heir within a year. This sets him on an entertaining, albeit desperate hunt for a wife. Follow him on his disastrous search until he zeroes on Lilli who is none too thrilled. When his attempts at proposing marriage as a business arrangement, bribery and even coercion fails he resorts to seduction. But he soon he finds himself caught in his own web of lust…

“It wasn't until that moment I knew three things. One, I was definitely going to work tomorrow. Two, I was a total douche bag for what I was about to do. Three, the plan would be placed into action as soon as possible.”

 photo GruborModernArrangement1-3HerobySueBee_zps1668f99f.jpg

Aidan Walsh Iverson III has a wit about him that kept me entertained from page 1. I might have wished him less obtuse to his situation at times, but in the end it all worked out. Five words to describe Aidan; witty, endearing, compassionate, charming and entertaining.

“I often did unacceptable things and definitely multiple unacceptable women.”

 photo GruborModernArrangement1-3HeroinebySueBee_zps5e8fd8d1.jpg

Lillian Snowe, Lilli the down-on-her-luck girl-next-door, was a wonderful heroine and the perfect match for Aidan. Five words to describe Lilli: Spunky, charismatic, endearing, noble and smart.

"Don’t treat me like I belong to you because, no matter what I agreed to, I am not a possession!"

Aidan’s and Lilli’s story is a slooow build-up of sexual tension increasing in intensity only to come to a screeching halt. But no worries, book 2, Here Comes the Bride has already been released. Overall an entertaining read! The writing style clicked with me and both Aidan and Lillian are wonderful! Though I might have wished for them to act on all this pent-up sexual frustration I look forward to the continuation of their story. Well done Ms. Grubor!

“I stumble downstairs unsure, but hopeful to find more masturbation material. When I find the living room completely quiet and empty, I almost shed a tear.”

Ok, this book had a great premise, but it didn't work for me; such a shame because based on the summary this book had so much potential. It did sound really good, at first glance anyway, but if failed to deliver.

Here is why it didn't work me:

1. I found the story super slow to start, the characters didn't decide to get into the contractual marriage until 73% of the book. Up until this point, they were living separate lives, dating other people, sleeping with other people.

2. The characters were not to my taste, I found the male lead a total whuz who was totally whipped by the female lead. The female lead though hot and gorgeous was a total bitch who kept repeating over and over that she didn't want this agreement (marriage for money) because she wasn't a whore. After a while this got monotonous and old.

3. They didn't even bother to get married in the book. So the main characters sleep around with other people but never with each other. They actually shared a kissed about 80% into the book.

The only redeeming thing that I can say about this book is that it actually picked up and started to get good about 88% into the book.

I can't say that I will pick up book 2 and read about their marriage; frankly at this point, I am beyond caring about these characters.

No chemistry whatsoever between Lilli and Aidan. Their few interactions lacked the spark and the enthusiasm of a possible and/or desired romance.
The "marriage arrangement" idea from this book appeared to have enough intriguing elements to work with for an exciting reading. But the very dull narration changed everything.

In the first book of the modern arraignment series we meet Aidan Iverson III who's a complete playboy and has never felt the need to settle down until his grandfather dies and the terms of the will declares if he want to keep the family business he must get married and within a year have a child.

Lillian Snowe is an independent overachiever who's determined to keep here father healthy and also keep the house she's grown up in before the bank forecloses.

From the moment Aidan and Lilli meet the sexual tension is through the roof and you can tell their ment for each other. But it seems their both willing to let the "arrangement" between them stand in the way.

I really hope they get the HEA they deserve.

Oh boy. I want to say I liked this book and disliked this book. Loved Aiden. He was great. Lilli, not so much. There were times where I wanted to physically get in the book and throttle some sense into her. I mean, come on! Get over it already. You aren't a whore. Enough already. Aiden should have just picked up a hooker on 42nd Street and called it a day. I mean it worked for Vivian on Pretty Woman. She came out okay with a very rich man. Food for thought for the next time, Aiden.

And to top it off, ends a bit cliffy. Next book comes out in March so I am hoping Lilli gets hee shit together. Enjoy the ride woman! You aren't marrying a toad!

Aidan is a sexy playboy. Who can get any woman he wants, when he wants. Except when he needs to find one to marry. And he needs to get married soon.

Lilli feels she needs to do everything by herself. Going to collage while working two jobs, so she can pay the hospital bills for her sick father. She is witty and very attractive, and Aidan can't help but stare at her whenever she is around.

This book had me laughing so much, I love Lilli, especially when she's picking on Aidan. The sexual tension and humor between them both brought a smile to my face over and over. I really enjoyed it. I won't lie I'm not overly happy with the basically to be continued ending.

Another fun-to-read "arranged marriage" trope that definitely provided lots of laugh-out-loud moments. I especially enjoyed the bachelorette brunch and all the events accompanying it. Aidan makes a great effort in his attempts to win over the elusive "contracted bride." There's lots of great backup provided by a large and boistrous secondary cast.

A few editing problems run the gamut but nothing to disturb the reader's enjoyment. All in all, it's another fun-to-read romantic romp. I enjoyed it enough to one-click the next installment.

This was really good. It felt familiar. Like all the other books where you have a marriage that is a contract for a certain amount of time. But what I thought was different was that it was mostly from the male POV. The first 40% was Aidan's. Aidan is this hot rich guy that needs to get married to inherit the money and family company. Aidan is a womanizer but he is also a really sweet guy. So for him getting married and finding a women within the timeline was funny. It wasn't as easy as he thought it would be.

Then Lilli who is struggling financially and has an ailing father gets thrown when Aidan propositions her.To say that she took it badly was an understatement. When she finally agrees all they do is fight and Lilli seriously begins to have an attitude that got in my nerves. She just took everything that Aidan did the wrong way. But then ... you know there is attraction and the only one who is really fighting it is Lilli. By the end things are looking like they might be changing.

I liked both character and their friends are so funny.Oh man the bachelorette party was so funny. By the end of the book they aren't even married yet. I guess that happens in the next book. Cant wait for the next one.

This book was AMAZING - I mean 50 Shades, Bared to You Amazing. I actually enjoyed the story line much much more than those books too. The sexual tension is so heavy I had to keep turning the page. I love Aidan's vulnerable yet strong character and I like the fact that Lilli is a little spitfire. Save the Date was such a different concept that it was refreshing. I am currently reading Here Comes the Bride (the second in the series) and I'm enjoying it just as much. Such page turners. This series deserves to be up in the ranks with 50 and Bared to You. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Great start to a series. Loved the main characters and the friends. Very realistic no "insta-love me gotta have you now" going on here. We get to see them connect and fight which is very entertaining.

Overall it was just okay. Lilli protests too much and I feel bad that Aiden is in such a position. Why can't they make the best of it? Boring at times, funny at others but an interesting read never the less.

Well, it was... not bad. Won't be reading the second book though. The writing was too slow.
I found it a bit boring and I don't know how to put it, but something was missing with the story and with the characters.

A petite dark haired girl--wearing a tight blue t-shirt and tiny pair of sweat-shorts--danced around a small kitchen, singing loudly. The sight of her white socks, the kind with the stripes around the tops, made me smile wider.

I received an advance copy of Sadie Grubor’s Save the Date. This is the first novel in her Modern Arrangement series. Aidan comes from old money. He holds a position of high esteem in his family’s business. His grandfather is the patriarch of the family. His parents were killed when Aidan was ten and he was raised by his aunt and uncle. His life has been a privileged one, and he has a tight knit group of friends. Lilli’s life by comparison, has been anything but privileged. Her oft married mother is off finding herself in the Canadian wilderness, and her father suffers from serious cardiac problems. His health issues have been expensive and Lilli has assumed responsibility for the finances of her family. She works multiple jobs, her main one bartending, and attempts to juggle college classes in between. Their paths cross when Aidan meets up with his friend from college, Derek, who happens to be Lilli’s roommate.

Months go by and Aidan and Lilli have become friends, and are part of the same circle of friends. Aidan’s life changes drastically when his grandfather suddenly dies. All assume Aidan has been groomed to take over the reins of the company and few expect any surprises concerning the last wishes of his grandfather. However, his grandfather has the last say and sets certain conditions for Aidan to secure his place at the company and to take possession of the 100 billion dollar inheritance. Unable to break the iron clad will, Aidan resigns himself to the provisions laid out for him and sets in motion his plan to secure all that would be his. Needless to say, Lilli has become a reluctant part of those plans. Their relationship develops gradually. Neither wishes to admit that there is a growing attraction to each other and they assume the mask of a business relationship is the glue that holds this couple together. However, their inner thoughts hardly reflect that same relationship.

“You look nice…” Nice? She looks like I want to lick her from her ankles to nose with only a few stops along the way.

Grubor’s novel is humorous and light hearted. This is an easy read with little angst but plenty of twists. Her characters are strong; pig headed and fit each other like halves to an orange. If they could only see what those around them see. The secondary characters provide interesting offshoots of their own stories, and yet they naturally weave into the fabric of Aidan and Lilli’s journey. Be forewarned, this is a continuing series, with the next one planning to release shortly. I for one am anxiously awaiting the next installment.

***received this audio for exchange for my honest review***

This was actually the first audio book that I have ever sat and listened to so I had nothing to compare it to, but I must say I was impressed. I had heard a few samples that didn’t have a voices that I could sit and listen to for long periods of time but this one did. There were two narrators which I found easy to follow, they worked well together and seemed to blend seamlessly together creating a story that was easy and enjoyable to follow. Ok so let me tell you about this story!

Aidan is sexy, rich man whore! He doesn’t do the relationship and settling down thing, he is more a love them and leave them type of guy. That is until his Grandfather dies and his family business is put at risk. He has been given a set amount of time to find a wife or he will lose everything! But Grandfather is smart, he doesn’t just have to marry, he has to stay married for 4 years, there has to be no cheating, they must sleep in the same bedroom and produce an heir! Where does someone find a woman that will accept all these stipulations, but someone you actually want to spend all that time with?

Lilli works all the hours God sends, trying to raise money to help her father keep the home he has. But something has to give, and unfortunately is her studying. She is a feisty girl and doesn’t let anyone walk over her…and that includes Aidan!

After his ‘wonderful’ friends try to set him up, he decides its time to take matters into his own hands. He thinks that Lilli would be a great choice for this arrangement, he thinks she’s hot and wouldn’t mind spending 4 years on be with her and she is in need of the extra money to help her father. A deal made in heaven….well so you would think! The story that follows is funny and I found myself laughing out loud at some of the conversations that they had.

Even though this wasn’t an original plot idea, I mean we have all read a story like this, that didn’t detract front he fact that it was actually very enjoyable to listen to. It had me giggling and feeling the tension between Lilli and Aidan which is always a big plus in my book! It also makes me want to read/listen to the next one to see what is going to happen to this dysfunctional couple! So all in all i think its worth anyones time to read/listen to this story! <3

Contains mild spoilers [not that there are any OMG moments in the book ]:

I liked the way this book was approached . not the typical 'i am a playboy , i can have anyone but i only want you ' but in a more unconventional manner . what i didn't like was the amount of book space dedicated to Aiden going out with others to find a suitable match . i mean even though it was good that there was a much more realistic approach of friendship between the leads rather than the overrated love at first sight one , but do i want to read in a book about how Aiden had sex with someone on every floor of the room other than the female lead because he apparently cannot resist her ??? ... hell no . i mean yes, he was not in love with with Lilli but i want to like the hero not want to punch him . even if somehow that part is overlooked as at that time he was not in a relationship with her , the part where he is engaged to her and and she calls him out on the fact that before they were legally married he would not pass up on offers from other girls and he doesn't so much as defend himself because it is the truth really doesn't give him any points in my book . but thankfully the book takes a turn for the better from then .
the friendship between Aiden and his friends is fun to read all through the book. their banter is light and funny . Lilli's sarcasm doesn't hurt either .and the way Aiden's attitude turns all "take charge" is awesome .
overall the book was good....funny even . maybe because i expect too much from the male lead , for him to at least be a little crazy behind the female lead was the reason i didnt like Aiden all that much in the more than half of the book . butit did start changing in the end. well....there is always the next book

My Rating: 3☆

Save the Date was a quietly paced story about Aidan and Lilli.  The couple started out as friends but a sequence of events and maybe a bit of fate and serendipity was drew them together as more.  The story follows their journey of how their acquaintancy grew into friendship and how that friendship grew into more.  There  are highs and lows for the pair and they begin to rely on one another and their feelings beyond attraction grow.  Now,  they never confess their love because this is part 1 of 3 so it's a slow build.  However,  you do see glimpses of what they will be in the future in this story.

I was looking for a sexy read when I picked up this story and I will confess that this story did not do the trick. Although a sweet, sometimes bittersweet, and well written tale, it didn't deliver the pow that romance romance aficionados may be used to.  Knowing that the books are interconnected,  I still felt a little let down by the ending which wasn't exactly a cliffy but a fade to black until the next episode.  Indeed,  I did enjoy the story overall,  I was just expecting more.

So my advice, if you are considering Save the Date as your next read,  don't go into it with any preconceived ideas about what this book will be.  If you do,  you may be disappointed; however,  if you do not,  you will be pleasantly surprised.

I listened this as an audiobook  and was happy that there was both a male and female narrator so the story felt more authentic.

This started off slow and improved though not all that greatly. The beginning was bland and read much like a to-do list and as the story evolved so did some of the dialogue and writing. My biggest complaints were that some of the dialogue was cliche and childish, especially coming from Lilly.

Then there was Lilly herself. She was rude, immature, contrary, and just plain mean sometimes. Her continued insistence that she was not a whore just grated at my nerves. Her treatment of Aiden throughout most of this book was just over the top. She overreacted big time to the whole proposition, then each and every time he did something to help her she complained and bitched. Shut up already! The guy paid her mortgage, her school, her father's medical bills, set her up with bank accounts and all she does is complain like an ungrateful teenager.

I don't get why she is being so ludicrous about not sleeping with him. She's marrying him. Staying with him for four years of which she can't get it anywhere else I don't see what her problem is. Especially when she starts to feel the attraction between them. Just unclench already and get that stick out of your ass. Man is she annoying.

Aiden is cute and sweet. Yeah, he's a bit rough around the edges and spoiled to some extent but he recognizes his responsibilities and takes charge of his life with little complaints, contrary to our little miss bitches at everything who complains about EVERY SINGLE THING from the arrangement, to the apartment, to quitting her job, to wearing the ring, to kissing, to having sex, to the wedding planning, to the honeymoon...I think you get the picture.

Another great by Sadie Grubor! A 4.5 out of 5 rating for me. I had a lot of fun reading this (maybe a little too much). I feel as if I personally know all of the characters and shared their emotions (especially the laughter/happiness) as if it was my own. Any fans of the genre that enjoys fun with their reading, some suspense and a lingering ending (that has you doing a face palm and dying for the next book like yesterday) will adore Save the Date :)

Lilli is a young, strong, determined, independent, smart and beautiful woman. She has a lot of weight on her shoulders and does whatever she needs to do to survive and help her father. Instead of things getting better and a bit easier with time, it seems to get worse and harder. Lilli does not want to let her father or herself down. But what can she possibly do to fix it all? After all she’s only one person.

Aiden is a great looking (player to the nth degree), smart, fun, funny and wealthy guy that is recently faced with a task, an almost impossible one at that, that if he does not accomplish. The well-being of his family, many employees and himself are at risk. He now turns his life around to do what is best for himself and those relying on him, he just needs one single person to agree to certain terms and then things will be back to rights. The problem is, who?

I cannot wait to see what’s to come of Lilli and Aiden! Especially after the way the book left off. These two belong together like April showers for May’s flowers and I’m hoping for the best for them.

Wow! What a conditional inheritance. In order to obtain the inheritance his grandfather left him, Aidan must get married in one year & stay married for four years (no infidelity allowed). During that first year he & his wife must also produce an heir. If these requirements are meant, the company his grandfather owns will stay in the family, if not, his family will be S.O.L. & it will go to the board. He goes on a few dates with different women but no one really tickles his fancy, that is until he takes a REALLY good look at his friend's roommate, Lilli. Determined to find a way to make her THE one, Aidan makes Lilli an offer she can't refuse... after a few attempts to dodge it anyways.

My Highlights-
1. Bachelorette Party- The things Phoebe had planned out for this were so funny. I just about died when the guys crashed the party & the girls were practicing their "techniques"!
2. Cast of Characters- I really like all of the guys & girls! Loved that each one was matched up to another one.

My Lowlights-
1. Passage of Time- I knew that for the story to progress the time would have to pass by quickly but I still felt it was rushed. All of the weeks went by, months passed, days went by made the time progress but not necessarily the story.
2. Sexual Tension- It totally killed me. There was no relief for it anywhere! Thank heavens for a second book!

Lillian Snowe is a young woman with way too many burdens on her shoulders. She's struggling to help her sick father and maintain the home he lives in while trying to complete her studies... all just a little much for her... then along comes Aidan Iverson III... a playboy whose parents died and his grandfather's favourite, but when the old man dies he leaves everything to his grandson, but with the conditions that he must get married within a year of his grandfathers death, and remain married for 4 years, the marriage must be consummated and within a year he must conceive an heir... tough conditions but if he wants to keep his family business he must adhere to them.

Aidan attempts dating and blind dates but ultimately decides that his best bet is to attempt this like a business deal and offers Lili a deal to help her out financially, while getting all that he needs to keep his inheritance... it's a win win...

Loved this book, its quirky and fun and the characters and supporting characters are great! The story is well written and flows well.. except it took a long time to get to the part where they finally get to the point of the story... all the fluff was filler, but over looked it was a good read

GRRRRRRRRR. Served me right for not reading the blurb. I knew this was a series but I was trying out a new author for a signing and saw it was a short read so I carried on.

However, I didn't realize it was a trilogy. Book 1...doesn't end. Leaves you hanging. I feel like I've been teased and tempted to the point of no return, only to have the guy up and leave at the eleventh hour. The tension of the lead characters is very hot NOW. And the book ended. Need to move on to book 2 just to find out if he succeeded in getting to the "point"

Now, for my rating. The storyline was good. Writing wasn't too bad. Liked it. Felt like there are some details missing but it's also an unfinished story.

So I give 3.5 stars. I liked it and will continue because I'm nosy like that and it was good enough for more!!!

Meh. It was ok. It was 90% from Aidan 's POV, which was fine because you get to see what he is struggling with. I thought Lilli was kind of a bitch though. I don't think Aidan said anything that should have made her feel like a whore. And seriously, everyone kept making fun of his situation, which really was not cool. I felt for the poor guy. So the book was mostly about him trying to find Mrs. Right Now. And he finally realizes Lilli would be a great candidate. So there was not much romance/sexual tension, which almost made the book boring, just because I kept waiting for something to happen. I will probably read the next one, because it was still well written and now I am invested in the characters. But don't expect too much romance if that is what you are looking for.

Cute but tyipical story line. I've reada few books about a contract marriage of convienance because the guy always seems to have to marry and give up their playboy way to thier money. This story is a little different so i'm liking it more then those that I have read in the past.

I like that fact that Aidan is thinking about his employees that might lose thier jobs because he can't full fill his grandfathers last wish. What i really enjoy is the banter between Aidan and Lilli. All of there friends are pretty hilarious too.

Looking forward to seeing what new things the auther will come up with in the next installemnt. I'll be on the lookout for the next book.

I enjoyed the story. I like that the story had many different layers. It just didn't jump from the hunk falling instantly for the heroine. Instead, the reader got a better understanding of the Aiden’s desperation and we got a chance to understand the Lille’s backstory. I will admit, Lillie made me angry sometimes but I assumed she was having a hard time battling with her morals.
I really fell in love the gang of friends. I loved how the teased Aiden about his issue, and I wish more females could have a friend like Dixon. And I couldn’t stop laughing about one particular couple. They had a better sex life the risk of the characters! So yes this was a good story.

What a delightful book.I got bummed cause I really wanted to know how Aidan would get to convince Lillie to just agree with the marriage arrangement.I mean, clearly there were major concerns but I would jump on a proposal like that so fast considering the number of people who would be affected.Plus there is security, and money for the child, honestly I just couldn't understand why it was so hard for Lilli to just accept,I mean the guy is a hunk, plus there is that physical attraction so why deny it.I think she should just live and let live.If things don't work,at least she tried.Definitely looking forward to reading the 2nd Installment in this Trilogy series.

I liked this one! On the death of his grandfather Aiden Iverson stands to inherit the family business. This is on the condition that within 1 year he is married and produces an heir, otherwise the Company gets split between the Directors. Aiden is desperate to keep the business and protect the jobs of 5000 people but until now he has been a player and hasn't contemplated settling down.

You would think that a wealthy good looking guy wouldn't have any trouble finding someone to marry him, but its not that easy!

I really liked the characters of Aiden, his friends and family and Lilli the woman he sets his sights on and I'm looking forward to the next book to see how it works out.

Okay. That was weird.

This was a recipe for disaster. I was hooked by the blurb and that was wrong.

First, the man acts like a... like a... "idiot prepubescent boy". His words, not mine. And the lady, well, I couldn't quite catch her. I like the idea of the story but I think it's to immature for what I have in mind. The dialogues are like from a bunch of 13 year old's. But I didn't expect much from this and it was fun while it lasted. It was short so it was okay. I end up skimming most parts, anyway. Also, I want to know what happened after and it might be fun.
