Cosmopolis Teaser Trailer

"Come on, do it, flip the switch…" A very short, early teaser trailer has debuted online (via Awards Daily) for David Cronenberg's next new film, Cosmopolis, starring Robert Pattinson as a multi-millionaire who spends 24 hours crossing all of Manhattan in a limo. This definitely looks like there's a bit more than a limo in it, including plenty (and I mean plenty) of sex and violence and nightclubs and guns and everything else. "Bizarre occurrences and an authentic parade of crazy characters along the way, in a landscape that depicts the modern soul of the West at the end of the millennium." This looks wild, and it's only our very first tease!

Note: This footage is fairly uncensored and contains nudity, it is borderline NSFW so please be aware.

Watch the first teaser trailer for David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, embedded from YouTube:

David Cronenberg (Scanners, Videodrome, A History of Violence, Eastern Promises) writes/directs this adaptation of Don DeLillo's novel following a wealthy asset manager (Robert Pattinson) who crosses the whole of Manhattan across 24 hours in a stretch limo just for a haircut. However, the guy can't get a break as he's repeatedly delayed by a presidential motorcade, anti-globalization demonstrations, and a celebrity funeral. But his biggest problem comes when he must deal with the repercussions of a risky bet against the yen on a bad day for the market that may cause him to lose all his money and his newlywed bride. Sarah Gadon, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, and Mathieu Amalric also star. Expected release sometime in summer (maybe May), but no exact date set yet.

finally a movie where Robert Pattinson isn't a swooning imbecile.  I am kind of glad the got this role and glad that Croenenberg will be the one to finally make Pattinson mature.

When he shot his own hand in the teaser, I thought, "great, another supernatural chick flick with Pattinson...pass."  But if Croenenberg is involved, I'm down for a mindtrip regardless of genre.

Have you even read the book? seeing as your comment is.. I seriously doubt it.. though I can assure you this is NOT a supernatural thing and a far cry from a chick flick! read the book you'll understand what's going on.

Have you even considered that not every movie in Hollywood is based off of a book? Have you even considered that I haven't read every single book written? Obviously not based on your comment... Ease up.

It's right there in the trailer, 0:11 sec. in. You need to work on your attention span.

Seeing as I don't speak french... I didn't know that.  And why are you replying to a comment 11 days late?? You need to work on your response time.

i don't think shooting yourself in the hand, peeing in your car, and having a mans eye gouged out equals chick-flick.

Clearly my original statement was negated by the second...

10

 Why would that be supernatural???

Jack on Mar 22, 2012

Because the last time I saw Rob Pattinson take damage, he healed himself (as a vampire). The only other thing I've seen him in was Harry Potter (which is fantasy).

You have a very strange logic.

Could THIS be the movie in which I'll understand the whole 'Robert Patterson' hype?... So glad to see Cronenberg back though!

That one was funny...

Either than Cronenberg's involvement, why would anyone want to see or care about a multi-million dollar man crossing Manhattan to get a freaking haircut? Kind of out of touch with reality.

22

It's a MOVIE not real life-lighten up and enjoy being entertained!

Lyndablack on Mar 25, 2012

23

That's a bit of satire man, it's not really just about the haircut, obviously.

TBONE on Mar 25, 2012

That's got vintage Cronenberg written all over it. If you liked Videodrome or understood just what the hell the ending to Naked Lunch was all about then this'll be right up your alley. Finding myself the former, I'm all in:)
