I stopped reading at around 15%.

So I picked this up because I felt compelled by the synopsis. I have a younger friend who is currently 20 and is pregnant with her first child and has recently married her 37-year-old husband. So yea I know a thing or two about love and age difference. Anyhow, I thought I should check this out in case I find it enjoyable and perhaps give it to her as a gift but alas she is not so lucky.

Starting this book was like reading a series but from the middle. I felt so lost because the characters seemed to have developed off page, so reading the beginning made it seem incredibly fast paced resulting in an undesirable detachment from the characters. I didn't even see them "fall" in love, they already were. There was a lot of "telling" rather than "showing".

This also meant that I found the characters to be a little too 2D. The reaction, the dialogue and the spatial management was all over the place. So for example, this is a 36 year old guy, yet he acts like he's 15.. I mean it's not entirely ridiculous, just not plausible in my perspective especially since he seems to have a troubled past. And then the reaction and dialogue between all the characters were too exaggerated for me to actually feel for them. So I can understand if an entire family falls in love with a kid immediately after meeting them and I can even understand why the sister would cry because she wants the kid to be part of their family. HOWEVER the way that was written was so horrible. Because it made them look soooo cheesy and just overall unbelievable. In other words I was not convinced at all. It was like watching a bad acting *cringe*. Execution is key and it failed here.

And then the mum's reaction to her son's new girlfriend.. no that's not right, it wasn't a reaction it was just a bunch of dialogue. I felt so numb reading because I couldn't, for the life of me, feel anything. And then that part when the hero and the heroine were conversing while bathing the little kid... first she's two (i think).. so you can't have a full discussion while bathing a child because there would be splashes and then there would be the non-stop chattering. But that was all muted. So yea I felt uncomfortable because I was asking myself the entire time if they were still in the bathroom or what. I mean I guess the author took absorbed into another level.

I can understand a fast paced romance trust me, Alexa Riley is one of my favourite authors and her novellas are short as cupcakes but they are as filling as an entire cake. And I have read enough to know what's a convincing story despite it being a little exaggerated. So unfortunately this book lacked too many elements to convince me of the world that it tried to create.

This little standalone story has a beautiful couple, Angel and Nash, they are very sweet and love is all over the pages. I recommend this book to anyone that wants to read something light with romance and a good guy just like Nash. Looking forward for next book from Kim Ginsberg.

Everything was way too over the top and the insta love was too ridiculous with this one.

The two year olds speaking got to be pretty annoying after a while. The two year olds I know did not speak like this. I couldn't even sound it out half the time and when the other book characters knew exactly what she was saying within 5 seconds of meeting her it was pretty unbelievable and annoying.

Did not care for any characters in this book. It could have been a sweet book and I would've loved it had it not been for the immediate love everyone had for angel and heaven it was too much.

Kim Ginsberg's "In Living Color" is a sweet standalone tale. Angel and Nash are a cute couple. I really liked how the families of both Angel and Nash are involved. Nash is a great guy! I can't wait to read more from this author!

This book got 5 stars just because it's been one of my comfort reads for ages. Pure fluff, no angst, no drama. Perfect after harder books to clean my mind or just to lift my mood.

I took away 1 star because as much as I love it it could have needed some editing and streamlining.
