Forever Pucked

Being engaged to Alex Waters, team captain and the highest paid NHL player in the league, is awesome. How could it not be?

In addition to being an amazing hockey player, he’s an incurable romantic with an XL heart, and an XXL hockey stick in his pants. And he knows how to use it. Incredibly, orgasmically well. Alex is the whole package and more. Literally. Like his package is insane. Total world record holder material.

So it makes complete sense that Violet Hall can’t wait to nail him down to the matrimonial mattress and become Mrs. Violet Waters.

It’s so romantic.

Violet is totally stoked to set a date.

Eventually. At some point. Likely before the next millennium. Or when Violet stops getting hives every time someone brings up the wedding, and their mothers stop colluding on stadium sized venues. Whichever comes first.

*****FIVE SUPER MC LOVING STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

FABULOUS!!!!!!!

”I will always love you, Violet. I won’t ever be perfect, and I’ll make mistakes, and I’ll definitely say things that will make you angry, but I promise to tell you every day, not just with words, but with actions, that you are the center of my universe. You’re the sun in my sky and the breath in my lungs. I promise to be yours for every second of this existence, and to cherish every moment of that love with you.”

So this book was like an early birthday present for me!! I had only read PUCKED OVER previously and once I was lucky enough to get this ARC, I knew I had to read Violet and Alex’s first book so that I could truly appreciate this one. I’m so happy that I did and I just can’t say enough about how much I truly enjoyed this book!! I was torn between savoring and devouring it. Never did I once feel a lull in the story. I was engrossed from the first page to the very end of the epilogue.

The series so far has been very light-hearted with a little bit of angst thrown in for good measure. Since Violet is such a silly and lovable heroine and Alex adoringly dotes on her and caters to her every whim, I thought I was in store for a laugh out loud and steamy ride, because let’s face it, the Beaver and Super MC can’t get enough of each other. BUT, be prepared for some serious drama in this one. It kind of hit me out of nowhere and actually I am wondering why I never thought such a thing would happen in this story. Needless to say, I shed a few tears during this installment.

 photo MASSIVE CANNON_zpsfgybjxza.jpg

Violet and Alex’s wedding date hasn’t been set because she is deathly afraid of making a fool out of herself. She was involved in an embarrassing fiasco at her mother’s wedding and is certain history will repeat itself at her own wedding. And everything isn’t all roses and sunshine between them when Alex starts to tell Violet that she doesn’t need to work anymore since he makes plenty enough money to support her. She’s a very independent woman and her career is starting to take off, so Alex’s offer doesn’t sit well with her. Violet’s priorities will be seriously challenged when an incident threatens to tip her entire universe off its axis.

This story had it all – comedy, drama, and a plethora of STEAM!! This is one you will definitely want to pick up! The book goes live tomorrow!! If you haven’t read this series yet….WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??!!

Zero fuckin stars:

1. FUCK you Violet for slutshaming other women:
“She really is gorgeous—curvy, busty, leggy. I bet she lets him put it in her ass. Whore.”

2. Alex is still the same old dick he was in the first book

3. I honestly don’t see any appeal in these books. They literally give of the vibe of a sexist horny man writing a book about women.

This fourth book bring us a sequel on Alex and Violet’s story. If you’re expecting a novella and a quick, sexy reading, don’t. This a full length novel (well, it is still sexy as hell) and believe me, worth every damn page.
There was some drama, as you expect it will in a sequel, but the story of this couple from their engagement until their wedding, will be a long one, full of curveballs, sexy times, laugh and you will not want to miss it.
This was a hilarious (okay, some of the jokes were kind of overused and easy dirty jokes…but what’s wrong with that?!), sexy and sweet book and if you followed their story in the first book, you really can’t miss this one.
And if you don’t know this series but love a sexy sports romance, you should really start now.

Characters Development: I have to say, I freaking love Alex!!! And for all the stupid attitudes that he instantly had in the first book, he more than made up for it in this one. He was sweet, caring, and sexy and despite the stupid stuff that sometimes came out of his mouth, it was impossible not to fall in love with him. Violet it’s a sweet, funny girl and I love that she could stand up for herself and for what she wanted. I also loved how supportive she was when s**t hit the fan. It was nice to see more of the others and their relationships through the time.

It's been a while since I've read a Pucked book, and I was so glad to get back into this series! These characters are so freaking hilarious and I love the friendship between them all. Not to mention, they're super steamy! This one, however, was super romantic as well!

Violet and Alex are in love and engaged. Wedding planning is something that hasn't really been on the table, though. This is due to Violet's anxiety about weddings. I loved watching them navigate this. There was a lot more to this story then just the wedding, though. I loved watching Alex and Violet find their happy ever after. Things were not always easy for them, they had some real life issues, but their love always got them through. As well as their humor.

This book was the best combination of sweet, laugh out loud funny, and steamy. I am excited to get back into these books and I especially can't wait to read Lance's! I listened to the audio version of this book and the narration was great. Also, I had to wear headphones through the bulk of it- LOL!

I have seriously loved this series. There is nothing in the world I love more than laughing and falling in love through books, so when an author is able to do both I am seriously in awe.

Alex and Violet are actually the couple from the very first book in the series, Pucked. There was just something I always loved about Violet, her refusal to fit into any type of mold and her wit probably pushed it over the top. This girl is who she is and says what she means and I LOVE HER for it. She is legit my favorite heroine in the series, because she is so genuine.

Alex a superstar hockey player and team captain. It was always easy to love him and Super MC. I have always loved how he pursued Violet and I have never doubted his devotion to her. I love that Alex is this big shot hockey player is just a regular guy desperate for a girl when it comes to Violet.

I am not a fan of sequels to books when the couple has already found their HEA, they make me super nervous. However, the fact that I am a super fan of this series and couple had me jumping in. I swear this right here is how you right a sequel or follow up story, because this story had drama and a plot, but also didn’t make me twitchy or drive me to drink.

This story is sweet, sexy, and dealt with real issues. This story had real character development and growth, but didn't have a ton of unnecessary drama. I am blown away at how much I loved this one, because it is actually my favorite in the series now.

Forever Pucked is the absolute perfect story and if you love this couple you have to read this one! If you haven’t started this series and are a fan of lighthearted, sexy, sports reads it’s definitely worth a try.

This was a cute novella that tied in to book one in the series where Violet and Alex finally tie the knot. Lots of comedy, tawdry jokes and cute couple moments. One of my favorite sports series.

Chapter 1

Anniversaries Suck Cheesy Balls

VIOLET

Today is mine and Alex’s one-year anniversary, and it sucks donkey dick. Well, it’s one of our “anniversaries.” Alex likes to celebrate every single milestone in our relationship because he’s sappy and romantic like that. He also likes to have an excuse to buy me gifts. Lots of them. Extravagant ones. For my birthday he bought me a car. A nice car. With heated seats and automatic everything. New cars are scary because they don’t have dings and dents, and they need to be maintained.
Anyway, I digress. Anniversaries. This month we’re celebrating our “First Official Date” Anniversary. Alex likes to consider the first time we had sex our “real” anniversary, but since we hardly knew each other then, apart from how our genitalia fit together, I prefer to fast-forward a month to when I wasn’t thinking with my beaver. Not totally, anyway.
It’s still up for debate as to whether the day he locked me in the conference room at my work and forced me to have coffee with him later was our official first date. I’m inclined to go with the night he took me out for dinner and we ended up back at his place, banging on his couch, which is what we’re celebrating tonight. It’s marked on our calendar. There’s even a sticker with a smiley face. I’m dubbing this one our second sexiversary because it’s the second occasion when we had sex, and because it annoys Alex.
Sadly, we might not get the opportunity to fuck like it’s our third time—we did it twice that first time, for those of you keeping score at home—again tonight. Alex is currently on a bus back to Chicago with the team after a series of four away games. He’s been gone for more than a week. A snowstorm is blowing north through the Midwest, and last I heard from him, they were stuck at some rest stop—still more than two hours from home, and that’s without the snow slowing them down.
It’s already three in the afternoon. If they can’t make it back before it gets dark and the storm picks up, he’ll be stuck at a hotel for the night. We might be able to have phone sex, but that’s not the same as hugging his wood with my beaver. So that’s why this anniversary sucks.
And even if he makes it home tonight, he’s bound to be bagged, which may put a damper on the sexiversary lovin’. Not that he won’t perform. He will. He always does. But it won’t be with the level of exuberance I’ve grown accustomed to over the past year. I might only get two orgasms out of him instead of the requisite three or four he usually strives for.
Charlene, my best friend and colleague at Stroker and Cobb Financial Management, peeks her head into my cubicle. She looks disembodied with the way the rest of her is out of sight. She’s also smiling like she belongs in some kind of asylum.
“What’s up?” I ask.
“You have a delivery.”
“What kind of delivery?”
Alex likes to send me gifts at work. Once he had some guy dressed as a beaver sing a love song to me. It was mortifying. Jimmy, one of the other junior accountants, recorded it and posted it on YouTube. Obviously I made him take it down, but it had already gone viral.
“An Alex delivery.”
I brace myself for humiliation as she grunts, moving my gift into view.
I don’t say anything for a few long seconds. Alex is over the top with everything. But then, when you’re the highest-paid NHL player in the league, you can afford to be extravagant and highly ridiculous.
“Not what you expected?” Charlene asks, biting her lip to keep from busting out laughing.
“What am I supposed to do with this?” I gesture to the four-foot stuffed beaver wearing a hockey jersey. It’s almost as wide as it is tall. “I don’t even know if it’ll fit in my car.”
I also don’t want to carry it through the building.
“I’m sure we can make it fit.” I ignore Charlene’s eyebrow waggle. She’s referencing my fiancé’s monster cock. I’m not talking about a pet rooster, either. His dick is massive. I love it so much, even though putting it in my mouth is a workout all on its own.
I grab the beaver by its ears, hefting it into my cubicle so it’s no longer blocking all the walking space between my office and the one across from me. Thank the lord Jimmy isn’t in there or he’d be all over this. I need to hide the beaver. I don’t have to see the back of the jersey to know it’s got Alex’s last name and number on it. This is a giant version of the small beaver Alex sent me back when he was first stalking me. Because I’m so awesome in bed. And he loves my boobs. And I told him I loved his cock. It was quite the first encounter.
My relationship with Alex Waters, center and team captain for Chicago, started as a one-night stand. A poorly thought-out one. I would’ve run into him after our night of passion since my stepbrother, Buck, is on his team, but I hadn’t thought that far ahead when I was sticking my hands down his pants a year ago.
The beaver is holding a heart-shaped box. I pluck it from his paws while Charlene puts her arm around it and takes a selfie. I open the card; of course, it’s beaver-themed—a pair of cartoon beavers with little hearts above their heads. They’re in love, just like Alex and me.
I flip it open, expecting Alex’s usual hilarity, which is how it starts, but by the end I’m about to cry. He really is that damn sweet:

Violet,
A year ago you agreed to go for coffee with me, and then your boobs agreed to go on a real date. You came into my life and turned it upside down in the best way. I’ll never look at Spiderman pajamas the same way, or Marvel Comic boxer briefs.
I love every inch of you, all your funny quirky ways, all the ridiculous things you say in your sleep—and when you’re awake. Your unending praise for the MC also doesn’t hurt.
I know you don’t buy the whole love at first sight thing, but I believe some people are destined to be together. Maybe we came together because of lust and Fielding, but we stayed together because of love.
You’re my forever,
Alex

I sigh and hold the card to my chest, absorbing his words into my heart. Not really. I’m actually considering checking Google to see if he copied this from some sappy love poem site and made a few modifications to fit us better. However, Alex was an English major in college, so it’s possible he came up with this all on his own.
I save the Google search for later and open the heart-shaped box. I expect to find chocolate inside, but I’m pleasantly surprised to discover it’s filled with those heavenly maple sugar candies I love so much. There’s also a bag of Swedish Fish.
“You two are the weirdest couple on the face of the earth. You know that, right?”
“I prefer the term quirky, but yeah, I know.”
Charlene nabs a maple candy before I can close the box. Granted, there are a lot of them. If I had to hazard a guess, I’d say there’s a good hundred candies in there. I’ll be in a maple sugar coma by the end of the day for sure. I can’t stop once I’ve started.
I grab my phone from the top drawer of my desk, but before I can pull up Alex’s contact, Charlene snatches it out of my hand.
“What’re you doing?”
“You need to pose with the beaver so we can send Alex a picture,” she says, as if this should be obvious. Which really, it should be. I’m from the generation where everything we do gets posted online for bored people to see. Welcome to the wonderful world of well-documented bad decisions.
I shuffle the beaver around. It’s not easy since he’s huge, and my cubicle is small. I back my chair into a corner and move the beaver between my legs. I shove the beaver down so his head is at waist level, and Charlene snaps a few pics. Then we turn it over, giggling like idiots as I arrange my skirt over the top of its head so it looks like the beaver’s going to town on my beaver.
I strike several different poses, including a fake orgasm face, which is the exact moment my boss walks in on our little party.
“Mr. Stroker! Hey, hi!” I push the beaver away from my crotch, but it’s too late. He’s already seen me molesting it.
“Miss Hoar.” He glances at Charlene, then to me. “Miss Hall.” His arms are crossed over his chest, and his face remote. He’s giving away nothing. “You two look like you’re hard at work.”
We’re in so much trouble.
“I’m so sorry, Mr. Stroker. Alex sent me this for our anniversary—” I gesture to the gigantic beaver. “—and Charlene and I thought we’d send a picture so he knows I got it. We’re not sure if the team’s going to make it back tonight, because of the storm.” I wave my hand toward the windows. It’s snowing like crazy.
Not that it’s going to stop him from firing me.
“He sent you a stuffed woodchuck for your anniversary?”
“It’s not a woodchuck; it’s a beaver,” Charlene says.
He raises an eyebrow. “I’m not sure I want an explanation. Violet, I’d like to see you in my office.”
“Now?”
“Yes, now.”
My stomach does a flip, but I stand and smooth out my wrinkled skirt, shooting Charlene a look of terror. She mouths sorry at me, but it’s not her fault. I would’ve done something equally as stupid with or without her help.
I follow Mr. Stroker down the hall to his office. He closes the door behind me and gestures to the chair opposite his desk. I’m totally about to get canned. This is the shittiest sexiversary ever.
“I really am sorry about that, Mr. Stroker. We were being silly. I know it wasn’t work-appropriate behavior.”
He puts up a hand to stop me. “Violet, have you seen some of the clips Jimmy and Dean slip into their presentations? You doing whatever you were doing with that beaver has nothing on those two.”
I know exactly what he’s talking about. Jimmy and Dean are the other junior accountants at our firm. They’re even more ridiculous than Char and me. Last week they threw a slide into their presentation with two hockey players mashed up against the plexiglas with the caption “Happy Hump Day!” It looked like there was a whole lot more than humping going on in the picture. And that’s one of their tamer ones.
“Still, it won’t happen again.” I sag in the chair, unable to mask my relief. I honestly thought he was going to tell me to pack up my office. Then I’d be a famous hockey player’s unemployed fiancée rather than a modest financial contributor to our partnership.
“Sounds good.”
Mr. Stroker shuffles account files around on his desk. I recognize the one on top as one I prepared, because it’s in a violet-colored folder. Alex bought them for me. He thinks they’re cute.
“I’ve reviewed your file for the Darcy account. I think you’ve made some very wise choices in terms of the funds you’ve selected. The returns have been high in the past eighteen months, and you’ve balanced their portfolio well.”
“Oh. Well, thanks.” This isn’t at all what I thought I was coming here for. His praise is unexpected. He’s a numbers guy, like so many of us in this department. It’s always about the bottom line: whether or not we’re making money for our clients or saving their asses from potential bankruptcy.
Mitch Darcy plays defense for Chicago. I met him through Alex. One night after the game his wife was there, and we started talking. She asked what I did for a living, so I told her. She seemed surprised that I worked a job other than servicing Alex’s amazing dick.
Two weeks later, Mrs. Darcy made an appointment and specifically asked for me. Mr. Stroker took a risk by letting me draw up a proposal for the account. Of course he has to review it before anything can be implemented, but it’s an opportunity I wouldn’t have without all my connections. Those sometimes make me unpopular at work.
“This is a big deal, Violet.” Mr. Stroker says, tapping his pen against the folder.
“Yes, sir.”
“You’re aware that Darcy renewed his contract for five more years at four million a year.”
“Yes, sir. He also has endorsements with Power Juice and Sports Mind totaling another two million annually for the next three years.”
“Do you think you’ll be ready to present this to the Darcys next week?”
I sit up straighter. “You want me to present?”
“His wife is rather insistent it be you.”
“But I’ve never presented to a client this big before.”
“You’ve been managing Miller’s account for the past year without an issue,” he argues.
Stroker is referring to my stepbrother, Buck, whose real name is Miller. Everyone has recently started calling him by his given name, but it’s an adjustment for me. I’m not quite there yet.
Usually the accounts I handle are half a million or less. The Darcys’ portfolio is far more significant. Way bigger than anything I’ve touched, apart from Buck’s accounts, and I’ve always had Mr. Stroker look at those before I make any kind of change. I don’t want to be responsible for screwing up Buck’s fortune.
“You’ve got a handle on it. Why don’t you call them and set up a meeting for next week. I’m open most mornings.”
“Okay, great. I’ll consult their game schedule and see what works best.”
“Perfect. You arrange it, check the notes I’ve made on the PowerPoint, and at the end of the week—say, Friday afternoon—I’ll set aside an hour and you can do a dry run for me so you feel prepared. How does that sound?”
“That sounds amazing, Mr. Stroker.”
“It’s just William, Violet. You can drop the formality now.”
He’s told me this before, but I find his last name entertaining. “Of course. Right, William.”
He gives Randy Balls, another one of Alex’s teammates, a run for his money with the dirty names.
“Great. Three o’clock Friday afternoon is open for me. Book the conference room with Edna on your way out.” He passes over the folder and picks up the phone, which means I’m dismissed.
I thank him and stop to set things up with his assistant on the way back to my cubicle.
Charlene is sitting at her desk, chewing her nails and pretending to do some kind of research. When she sees me she grabs my arm and yanks me into her cubicle. “Why aren’t you crying? Didn’t you get fired?”
“No. Stroker didn’t can my ass.”
Charlene sighs with relief. “I’m so sorry. He rarely comes down this way.” It’s true. Junior accountants usually only see the boss-man in the conference room on meeting Monday, which was this morning. “Let’s never take pictures like that again while we’re at work.”
“Agreed. We should have waited until I got home. Then we could’ve posed the beaver on the bed so it looks like he’s taking me from behind, or holding my boobs.”
“Such good ideas. So what did Stroker say?”
“I’m presenting to Mitch Darcy and his wife next week.”
“You’re what?” she practically screeches this, so anyone within earshot, which is most of the office, peeks their head over the edge of their cube wall.
“It’s okay, everyone. I told Charlene I’m thinking about going vegan.”
Jimmy seems to have returned from his coffee break. He looks suspicious, and rightfully so—I’m the first one to order a Philly cheesesteak when he gets takeout—but he’s on the phone, so he goes back to his call. The rest of the office is used to our ridiculousness, so they resume whatever they were doing, too.
I lower my voice to a whisper. “I get to present.”
“That’s a big account,” Charlene whispers back.
“I know.”
“That’s amazing.”
I know she means it, but I recognize the wistful look in her eyes. We’re close, but we’re still competing with each other, and with Jimmy and Dean, for a senior accountant position when it comes open. Being allowed to present to one of the bigger clients gives me an advantage over everyone else.
The people who don’t like me at the office are really going to hate me now.

Forever Pucked is infused with comedy, bursts of sweetness, a whole lot of hotness and just the right amount of drama that kept me hooked. A delightful extension to the already incredibly amusing series.

Alex Waters is the real deal, the best. Not just the best NHL player. He’s a wonderful son, brother, the best hearts and flowers kind of fiancée with a beautiful mind to go along with his heart and totally fantastic in bed. So naturally Violet is in a hurry to marry him. Right? NOT!

Every time the subject about setting a wedding date comes up she gets hives. It has nothing to do with loving Alex and everything to do with their mother’s incisive meddling and that Violet had a super bad experience during her mother’s wedding.

Add to that the fact that she and Alex are having conflicts with their careers. Hers is just taking off and it’s interfering with her time spent with Alex while Alex’s pro-hockey one is at its pinnacle and he’s looking forward to start a family, a really big one. When an unforeseen accident shakes up their lives further, can they communicate and align their priorities in order for them to get over this bump and get Forever hitched?

I have been completely addicted to this series. All the characters and plots are funny, outrageous and sexy. What more could I ask for in a read? And I loved the idea of getting more of the couple who started it all with the Super MC and Beaver antics.

At first I thought this would be a short story or novella at most, but I was happily surprised that this is a full length novel starring these two charming characters with the equally delightful supporting characters and hopefully individuals from the next books in the series. Yes, I’m talking about Lance, Tash, Darren and Charlene. Together they gave the story an added layer of fun and sexiness.

Forever Pucked relates an all too common scenario in an insanely fun way. Two people who want to start their life together have some hurdles to overcome.

Even though he wants to take care of Violet, I love that Alex understands the importance of Vi’s job. He’s such a sweet, caring man, with the libido and stamina of a teenager. I also thought it commendable that Violet simply doesn’t want to lose herself and that keeping a job she loves and is good at should be part of the equation; and I liked that when push comes to shove they both reevaluate their priorities and find that they are perfect for one another.

Foverever Pucked is book #4 in the Pucked series. Helena Hunting’s cleverness and hilarity continue in this installment of her fun, erotic series with blazing hot and over the top moments full of swear words, sexual innuendo and euphemisms. It is told from both points of view, with a happy ending and could be read as a standalone but I strongly urge you to at least read book #1 in the series.

4.25 The MC is BACK, BABY! Stars

So, first of all, this is not a standalone novel; you definitely at least need to read book 1 (Pucked) as it is about the H/h in this story, and at least book 3 to feel like you are up to speed enough on things to enjoy this story. This review will contain minor spoilers if you have not read those books yet. (As a note, all of the books in this series are currently available with a Kindle Unlimited subscription.)

I LOVE ALEX WATERS. Like, seriously. He is definitely on the laminated book boyfriend list.... Between the alpha male moments ("I am going to f#ck you like there's no tomorrow!") mixed with his beta male Canadian politeness ("... but only if that's okay with you.") coupled with the monster cock (MC in the house!) and infinitely lickable abs, how do you not fall in love with this guy?! Sometimes Violet is a little much to take, though she is mostly hilarious (there is some immaturity and some stubbornness that feels a little unnecessary at times), but overall, she is a very fun h!

This story essentially picks up where book 3 (Pucked Over) leaves off. After a disastrous engagement party with WAY too many people attending, making her literally break out into uncontrollable hives, Violet is in no hurry to set a date for their wedding. It's not that she doesn't love Alex and know he is her forever; it's that she hates crowds and weddings... and especially those two combined.

At her mother's wedding when Violet was 17 years old, "the incident" occurred (and that's all she's saying about that). It was beyond horrifying and humiliating, and she never wants to go through anything like it again. Also, there is the fact that Violet literally has no filter, which is okay if 1 - people are used to it; and 2 - she isn't the center of attention, but the last thing she wants to do is make a complete fool of herself in front of guests in attendance to see the world's best hockey player get married to a clumsy, TMI-sharing half-wit. Not that she is a stupid person; in fact, the only kind of athlete she was in school was of the math variety, which is why she is loves her job as a junior accountant... another source of stress between her and Alex as he would like her to quit and be with him full-time. But Violet wants to retain some independence, and even though she knows her salary is chump change to the highest paid NHL player, bringing something to the table is important to her. Also, she's not ready to be the kind of "hockey wife" that sits in the stands, cheers without expression since the numerous Botox applications have made those impossible, and waits at home doing absolutely nothing like a good little woman for her husband to come home from a 2-week stretch of road games.

Alex cannot wait to marry Violet - she's his and he wants it to be official. He would really love to have her around more, especially during the season when he is away for long stretches, gets home late at night, but then has to say goodbye to Violet as she heads out the door first thing the next morning. He's made a few hints about her quitting (it's not like she needs the job - he can more than take care of her and a family), but when he has, she has hit the roof. And he knows better than to bring up the wedding --- they are out of Benadryl at all of the local pharmacies because of the numbers of times Violet has broken out at the mere suggestion on setting a date. But he cannot seem to be able to reign in his and her mothers from bringing it up and wanting to make it the event of the season.... Alex wouldn't care if they got married by a voodoo priest in their bathroom, as long as it was legal and binding.

But when Alex is seriously injured, Violet realizes she cannot live without him and is anxious to make it official. Will Alex be able to get back on the ice? If he can't, what does their future look like? Is there a way to compromise and have the wedding they want while keeping their mothers relatively happy? And is there any way to get Daisy to stop putting a giant hole in the ozone layer with her 3-bottle-a-day aerosol 80's hairdo?

What I liked:
--- Alex. Alex. Alex.
--- Lots of interactions with the other main characters from the other books (Sunny & Miller; Lily & Randy) and future books (Lance; Charlene & Darren)
--- Violet definitely comes by her inappropriateness honestly - her mother is hilariously out of control!
--- STEAMY GOODNESS, early & often (and with the "MC"!)

What I didn't like as much:
--- A couple places in the story, it dragged a little
--- Violet was too stubborn in some cases, imo - unnecessary angst is my pet peeve

Overall, a great sequel to my favorite story in this series!

Plot --- 4.25/5
Main Characters --- 4.5/5 (Alex is a 10 out of 5!!)
Supporting Cast --- 4.5/5
Steam Level* --- 4/5
Violence --- nothing graphic
Language --- yes
POV --- Dual

*Note that steam level is not a rating so much as a how hot was it: 0/5 - clean; 1/5 - mild (nothing descriptive); 2/5 - 3rd base action/1 home run; 3/5 - now we're getting somewhere (a couple of full-on steamy scenes); 4/5 - yes please! (erotica territory); 5/5 - they did EVERYTHING in this one, y'all

More laughs and inappropriate behavior in the fourth installment of the Pucked series are sure to have you giggling and shaking your head all the way through.

This is usually when a romance series based on the same characters starts to go down hill, but this actually surprised me. Not quite the quality of the first book Pucked, but not too far off the mark. Honestly, I thought this was going to be a wrap up novella or something, but no, it is a full length novel. I still think Lance will get a book too, or at least I want him to have one!

Violet is still her oversharing self and Alex is still supporting Violet’s weird ways. I like Violet as a character, but some of the things she does got a little too weird for me in this one. Beaver veils? I didn’t really find a lot of it funny anymore. I think it was just too much. It was still funny, but not as funny as the others in my opinion. I thought the overuse of beaver was bad in Pucked, but I hadn’t read this yet. Way more beaver here.

This book is so over the top, but damn it, I can’t help but like it anyway. It’s the smutty goodness that I can’t live without. It’s my guilty pleasure. I’m glad I decided to keep on going with this series. It was worth reading even if there were some parts I didn’t care for.

*******

This one was definitely not my favorite out of the series, but was still pretty good.

Violet is still inappropriately hilarious.

The Beaver and the MC ride again! And I mean that literally.

I had a fabulous time reading this cute and sexy end to Alex and Violet's story. Did I need to read the word "beaver" written ad nauseum? No, but the sweet hotness made up for it.

When Forever Pucked landed on my kindle, I thought, ok - this will be a tiny little wedding-novella. But pfffff nope - it's a huge full-length book!

description

Violet and Alex (from book #1 Pucked - if you've forgotten about them... Beaver, Super MC, ring any bells??) have been together for a year now.
And while Violet is still a bit uncomfortable with all the money she's suddenly allowed or rather forced to use, she's very very happy with her hockey god and his MC.
But of course being engaged might one day lead to them getting married.
And that is kind of a problem for our Violet, because as soon as someone, like Alex or their moms, mention the W-word - she breaks out in hives!!!!
She hates being the center of attention, and at her own wedding that would hardly be avoidable ...

But before they can talk more about the scary wedding plans, and before the moms can drive her even more insane with talk about wedding venues.... Alex is hurt pretty badly in a game and suddenly all her wedding fears seem so meaningless.....

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO ALEX & VIOLET???
WiLL EVERBODY SURViVE THE WEDDING PREPARATIONS???

description

I'm not telling you that of course ☺

EEEEEEEP - another #PUCKED book!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALEX 'MC' WATERS!!!! ☺

description

I really enjoyed this story!
If I had to say which of the 4 books is my favorite? I think I'd still go with the second one...BUT that doesn't mean that Alex & Violet aren't just as great!!!

Just like with Alex & Violet's first book, I had a few tiny little problems with Violet. She's just a bit too over the top for me. She's even SO much over the top, that she's kind of amazing again. But still, all that talk about Beavers and MCs and whatnot - a tiny little bit too much. Not as bad as the first book - maybe because I'm used to her weird talking now ☺

description

BUT - I really loved the story.
I laughed a LOT - I even cried a lot ...

description

The story was soo adorable and moving and sexy and frustrating and sad and funny and heartbreaking .... just perfect.
We meet all of our couples again and a few others too...
As I said before, I was expecting a tiny little wedding novella, but what I got was soooo much more!
THANK YOU Helena Hunting!!!!!

FOREVER PUCKED was an amazingly adorable and funny and sexy and moving romance about how a hot hockey god will finally find his Happily Ever After with his slightly crazy girl!

I love this series, Violet is the Queen of Awkward moments and makes me laugh and there's lots of slapstick and smut to keep me happy.

Although this was funny I was uncomfortable with some of the sex talk and exhibitionism with friends and family; it kind of crossed the line from wincingly embarrassing but still funny to naff and tacky quite a few times and so that did effect my enjoyment of this instalment I'm afraid. There were still plenty of funny moments though and I enjoyed spending more time in their world, but it's funniest for me when the humour's a little more subtle and understated.

Definitely a must read if you've read the rest of this series.

I love this series and so thrilled Helena Hunting gave her fans another riotously hilarious, full-length novel dedicated to Alex and Violet’s journey to forever.

“It’s amazing how a poorly thought-out one-night stand can turn into a forever kind of love. Because that’s exactly what Alex is: my forever ”

I was excited mainly because I missed my Alex Waters ~ the super sweet, incredibly sexy hockey player and my favorite hero within the Pucked series. I definitely did not get enough of this gentle giant and his monster junk package in the last two installments, and I was due for a fix. Also, I missed seeing his sensitive side, something that was missing especially when facing off against Miller in Pucked Up. Needless to say in Forever Pucked, Alex’s character was exceedingly romantic and back to his sentimental, love smitten self ~ the perfect soul mate for the off the wall loon that is Violet Hall.

Violet is head over heels in love with Alex and knows deep down their love is everlasting. But when it comes to planning a wedding with the ever-present meddlesome moms duo, even thinking about it riddles Vi with fear. But when a tragic event rocks their world, it was time for Vi to work around her anxieties and for Alex to take charge. Drama and angst aside, it was definitely entertaining to see her torment – from the moms sex-talk over sharing, to the sheer lunacy of her buddies and an unforgettable adult-store shopping escapade, poor Vi had her hands full of craziness to deal with.

The hilarity, the constant over-sharing, the out of control raunchiness topped off by all of Vi’s hijinks, made this a fun read for me. The laughter was endless. But what set this romance apart from the others was the nail biting moments of drama laced within, which caused Violet to reveal a deeper and more serious side of her character. No doubt Hunting pens playfully amusing, light-hearted romantic comedies. Nevertheless, her writing style does have a flair for intensity. This author did a wonderful job of balancing both the elements of humor and solemnity, giving this tale more depth and dynamics to its main characters.

As always, I enjoyed this couple’s shenanigans. I loved seeing how this kooky cast of friends and family interact with one another, guaranteeing me a bawdy yet fun, sexy read. And…Wow, I adored that epilogue. If you are looking for amusing and dirty romances, I recommend jumping into this series from its beginning. I will miss this crew and hope there’s more to come with stories involving Lance Romero and Darren Westinghouse.

No one could possibly have been happier than I was when I saw that there was another book about Alex and Violet. Seriously. I freaking love these two and this book did not disappoint.

I think the thing I loved the most about this book was how it brought back all the hysterics and swoony moments that the first book about them had, but with an entirely different set of obstacles.

Despite how over-the-top this couple tends to be, the issues felt so realistic when they could’ve easily felt contrived just to have another novel about a beloved couple. I could’ve easily felt frustrated with Violet’s problems with the wedding (especially since Alex is freaking perfect for her), but I definitely did not. In fact, I was completely sympathetic.

And, bonus? The little glimpse into how much I would eventually fall in love with Lance makes my stomach flip just thinking about it. (For those that don’t know, I’m a little behind on writing reviews, so as I’m writing this one, I’ve already read the last book in this series which is about Lance and it happens to be my favorite one of them all.)

Alex and Violet are back, along with the Beaver and Super MC! And I am so glad we got a follow up book to this crazy ass couple.

As you can see by the blurb, Alex and Violet are now engaged and planning their wedding! If the moms don’t get in the way, everything should go smoothly, right? And mothers never interfere, ever! And they, the mothers, also give us quite a bit of comic relief…

Violet is still so awkward she could be anyone of us ladies without a filter, or even your best friend. She has a few quirks that make her utterly endearing and totally epic! When the thoughts of the wedding stress her out, she becomes an antihistamine addicts with no signs of giving up the habit, or setting a date.

Alex is still all alpha male and in charge, until… I am not going to tell you—that would be a spoiler, and spoilers are bad! So, know that at some point we all need to lean on someone else, and just when you think it can’t get any worse, your mother is bound to make everything a bit more awkward.

Their friends are all a part of this world Ms. Hunting has once again weaved for us. It’s great to get a glimpse into the crazy lives of the players and the women who are even crazier for falling for them. With all the humor and shenanigans going on, make sure you don’t snort too hard and hurt yourself while laughing. Also, if a bathroom is not readily available, may I suggest some type of adult diaper? You may need them from laughing so hard! ~ Devlynn, 5 stars

~~~
Alex and Violet have been my favorite couple in this series since their first book, Pucked. In the books after, I loved getting little glimpses into their lives while the other couples found love. So, when I found out they would be getting another book, I was stoked!
Alex and Violet are engaged and should have a date set for the wedding, but Violet gets so stressed about the wedding, she gets hives just thinking about it. And with their mothers trying to plan something way larger than they want, the road to the wedding isn’t without a few roadblocks.
I loved reading in Alex and Violet’s POVs again! Alex is such a romantic and treats Violet so well. Violet is so unfiltered, fun, and loves Alex with all her heart. This book was about so much more than their wedding—they had to deal with a lot, and that only made them stronger as a couple.
Forever Pucked was such a great continuation of their story. I loved the epilogue! It was such a cute glimpse into their future. I’m hoping we will get more books in this series in the future, as I’m not ready for it to be over. ~ Leah, 5 stars
Super MC + Beave = awesome.
It's a simple and fairly expected equation, given the hilarity that was Alex and Violet in Pucked, but a damn good one, nonetheless.
I loved being back with Vi and Alex—and the rest of their crazy crew. There's plenty of fun and shenanigans, surprising and embarrassing moments, fucking HOT bedroom...bathroom...kitchen breaks, and some sweet tenderness here—from ALL of the Pucked family. Which, of course, makes Forever Pucked a whole hell of a lotta fun. Just like the rest of the books that make up this series.
While it wasn't as riotous as Pucked, and was a little slow to start for me, it wasn't long before I found myself completely immersed in the surprising (and welcome) intensity that pervaded this book. I may not have shed tears of laughter as I did with book one, but I came awfully close to the other kind of tears—the ones that come from a touching, and occasionally heart-sore, book.
Vi and Alex are simply wonderful—a perfect, if slightly insane match—and seeing them again, moving forward, overcoming obstacles, anxiety and annoyingly meddlesome relatives (I'll admit, this was a little borderline for me at times; I really wanted some strong words to be had...), was a blast. Addictive. Not quite a one-sitting read but so damn close. Damn you, responsibilities *shakes fist*.
I truly hope that there will be more Pucked books to... come *snicker*. I found myself fascinated by the dynamics of Darren and Charlene, and ever more desperate to get to the...meat *snort* of Lance's story with Tash. Oh, and I could really use more *ahem* BALLS in my life. And, of course, some cookies... *titter*
Basically, hilarious Helena Hunting + the pucking spectacular Pucked series = Something I need more of. Soon. Pretty please? ~ Beth, 4 stars
I literally don't know why I read this lol.
I read the first two books awhile ago felt eh about the first one and hated the second one.
But in reading the 'All in' series and with a book coming out soon about Alex and Violets daughter I was like yeah okay why not try this one about them who I don't hate reading about (unlike Miller and Sunny who I hated reading about).
The sense of humour of this series just really isn't my taste. I can tell it would definitely work for other people but just isn't for me. I don't think I'll read anymore of this series depends on how I'm feeling lol.
I didn't hate reading this but I just didn't love reading it either.
Book Review: 5+++ Stars
MORE VIOLET AND ALEX! YES!
Forever Pucked is funny and sexy. It has drama, a great plot and one helluva unexpected ending! And the secondary characters have their spotlight. I loved every minute I spent reading this book. One minute I was laughing my ass off, the next I was all hot and bothered and suddenly, without a warning at all, I was crying my eyes out worried sick for my Alex! *deep sigh* I felt everything with this book. Isn’t it awesome when an author can make you feel all these emotions with one book? IT IS AWESOME! And Helena did it, she pucking did it with Forever Pucked , and now I’m FOREVER P(F)UCKED!! *chuckles* But I don’t mind, I mean, she can make me cry and laugh and love and obsess with all her books and characters all she wants *grinning like an idiot* I’ll happily read anything she writes, always and forever! #TeamHelenaHunting
Ok, let’s settle down some stuff before I start talking about this book. The only book of the series you NEED, HAVE and SHOULD read before Forever Pucked is book 1, Pucked, BUT I suggest you to read Pucked Up and Pucked Over first, otherwise you’ll have tons of spoilers about the couples of those two books and I assure you, you’ll want to read them. They’re amazing.
Now, let’s talk a little about Forever Pucked . Vi and Alex are engaged but they haven’t set a date for the wedding, mostly because of Vi. She has some issues with being the center of attention, and as the bride she would be exactly that. In addition to this little issue, Violet doesn’t think she’s ready to be a Hockey Wife. But these, and more concerns, don’t have any importance once they have to face one life changing event.
Read this book, I assure you, you’ll love it as much as I did. Not only Vi & Alex’s romance will keep you hooked to this book, but Miller & Sunny, Lily & Randy, Charlene & Darren and Lance will give you some great moments while reading it too!
5- I would Puck you forever- stars
Ok I'm not going to lie when I saw there was a follow up to Pucked, I freaked out a little. I prefer my couple's stories to end with one book. Anything after usually screws them up somehow. This was so not the case with this one.
Also this is NOT a a novella like I thought. It's a full book and I was so happy it was.
Alex and Violet are back and their relationship is as funny as ever. It's not often I read a book that makes me laugh tears. They are so outrageous. Beaver and the Super MC are still living their happy lives as well.
This book follows their road to saying "I do" finally. I think it was the perfect way to tie the whole entourage's lives together. I've never met a more hilarious group of friends. I didn't want it to end!
If you loved Pucked, then you will love this one!
PS: Charlene needs a book. I'm intrigued!
5 Beaver + Super MC stars!
I just ADORE Helena Huntings writing style. She makes me want to be cool enough to be friends with her. LOL. I can remember reading Pucked and laughing my ass off at Violet and her mouth. And with Forever Pucked it was the same. Only with Forever Pucked there was so much more HEART with Alex and Violet.
Helena can write funny romance like no other. I should also throw in the word dirty in that sentence...funny dirty romance. She's brilliant at it. I don't want this series to end. She just needs to keep writing stories about these characters. Just like the title says FOREVER PUCKED! Hehe.
Helena writes comedy with heart, so if you're looking for a romantic comedy that's not just fluff, this series is for you. I give all the stars! ALL THE STARS!!
So freaking wrong, but so freaking funny!
4 inappropriate stars
This is the follow up (full-length) book for Alex and Violet from Pucked. If you’re a fan of this series you’ll know exactly what to expect going into this book – more laughs, more sex, more complete inappropriateness and more of Violet being rude, crude and outspoken about absolutely EVERYTHING. But at the heart of the story is a gorgeous love story, and I loved getting to see Alex and Violet finally get the wedding that they’ve both been longing for.
Alex and Violet are loving their life together. They are still madly in love, definitely crazy in lust, sort-of planning their wedding and, along with their friends, getting up to all sorts of shenanigans while doing so.
I have no words to describe Violet. The woman has zero filter, and I was laughing again and again at the things she thinks, says and does. I shouldn’t be surprised at this point, but I still found myself reading with my hand over my mouth thinking ‘she did not just say that!’. It borders on the ridiculous more than once, but it’s part of the charm of these books. They are laugh out loud funny, and it’s fun to get lost in the silliness that is these characters.
Super MC deserves a wedding all his own. We'll have a private Super MC and beaver ceremony. I've thought about this a lot. I've even researched the costumes. Not that Alex needs to know this.
Alex is the perfect match for her – strong and alpha yet patiently accepting of Violet and her quirks, and he proves his awesomeness time and time again in this one. I love his sweet heart, his swoony declarations, and his absolute adoration of his fiancée.
“I will always love you, Violet … I promise to tell you every day, not just with words, but with actions, that you are the center of my universe. You’re the sun in my sky and the breath in my lungs. I promise to be yours for every second of this existence, and to cherish every moment of that love with you.”
And the man (and his MC) is seriously sex on a stick! Dayum, this book is full of steamy scenes!
Alex straightens, grabs my hips, and then he rams me. It's the fuck of the ages.
I was pleasantly surprised that we got a bit of drama in this book, and I really enjoyed the unexpected emotion. There’s a lot of heart in this story, and I loved seeing that side of Alex and Violet, and their relationship as they dealt with the unexpected twists in their story. It added a nice sense of depth to the story that was really well done.
But of course, it doesn’t last forever and we’re soon back to Super MC and “the beave” and all of their ridiculous, smut-tastic hijinks. And speaking of which, again I have to wonder… how many times should the word “beaver” appear in one book? I’m thinking 133 times may be a wee bit excessive. But that’s a minor issue.
I loved that there is a lot of time spent with the other characters of the series. Miller and Sunny, Randy and Lily, Lance, and even Darren and Charlene are all a part of the action, and as a group they are sensational. And when you add in the parents families, things get even crazier. So many times I laughed out loud at their conversations, I love them all together!
This is a really fun read. It’s laugh-out-loud funny, rude as all hell, and a little bit stupid, but very enjoyable. I loved the romance, and I loved seeing Alex and Violet get their happy ending. And it finishes beautifully, with an epilogue that gives us a sneak peak into the future.
“You’re my forever.”
I loved it. 4 stars.
If you've read the other books in the series, you know Violet is pretty crazy. She still brings a lot of comedy to Forever Pucked, loading it with silly fun, but this book has lots of heart moments too. I found several parts really touching.
I love how some of the hockey players, friends, lovers and families have formed a special little group. Each person brings his or her own unique personality to the overall makeup. No matter if the outside world would consider one of them to be ditzy, klutzy, promiscuous, mental, style-challenged, moody or whatever, they all have a special spot in their circle which couldn't be filled by anyone else.
Alex and Violet definitely have a unique wedding. Of course it has ridiculous bits, but I wasn't expecting as much sweetness. This book may have made me a little emotional a few times.
Fans of the series will not be disappointed. I'm excited to read more about this special bunch, and I'm really looking forward to getting inside Lance's head.
So it’s been a while since I last picked up this series. So I feel like I am a little out of the loop on catching up on all the gossip with my nutty Pucked friends. Luckily for me it was just that easy to fall back in with the crew and remember all the laughs and inside jokes from the previous books.
Violet was as over the top as ever and for a while it was a bit too much for me but then as I got into it I found myself in fits of giggles over her own style of cray cray. Alex was his normal sweet self and aside from a few moments where he got a little lost in the drama he was everything I have come to expect from the amazing MC.
I really loved the fact that despite the fact the wedding was the focus they still had their real life issues and dealt with them without any pettiness or drama.
This was a great next novel in this series and I loved catching up with the crew and seeing them all moving on to the next steps in their relationships and has just made me even more desperate for the next book in the series.
This second book about Alex and Violet was so, so sweet! But it was also very scary, as Alex had a bad accident on the ice!
Being a hockey mom, I know all about being scared when someone gets hurt! I've spent my fair share of time in emergency rooms, especially with my oldest son. *sighs*
I loved the overall story here, though, and the fact that all these hockey player and their girlfriends get along so well. And that there are real friendships.
Of course, the girls almost always talking (and joking!) about sex makes it really funny, too.
