Annaliese Harper knows that one tiny mistake can jeopardize a career before it’s even begun. Letting your boss find the extensive collection of porn on your personal laptop is one way. Sleeping with him is another. Liese manages to do both.

As the new librarian at a prestigious small-town private high school, Liese is drawn to her sexy, charismatic principal, Ryder Whitehall—an attraction she refuses to acknowledge given their relationship and her recent liberation from a delusional ex-boyfriend.

Liese is certain Ryder’s flirtation is the product of her sex-deprived imagination—until he discovers her digital porn stash during working hours and demands a private meeting. Well known saying "it's not you, it's me" truly does apply in the case of this book. After reading synopsis, I expected profound story about forbidden love but got only ordinary steamy insta affair. Guess I wanted hero and heroine to fight their attraction longer. I crave sexual tension that forbidden romances usually provide. If there was sexual tension in this book, I did not feel it at all and the lack of it put a damper on my reading. I blame it on my high expectations I had after reading previous novels by this author (which I abslutely loved).

Romance got better in the second half of the book and there was some plot development after all. Unfortunatelly, banters and steamy parts were not enough to hold my complete attention and to make me feel enthusiastic about the characters. I prefer character or plot driven stories and The Librarian Principle is mainly relationship driven story. So if this is your thing, go for it. Writing was good and overall this was okay leisure read.

➳An enticing romance novel filled with morals that should be followed correctly, but are forgotten because what feels right is better in a seductive way...

➳Love stories come and go, and cliche ones have encountered upon my presence every so often. This story is no exception- attractive librarian, young and sweet, has an ex-boyfriend who basically stalks her, is introduced to everyone at her new high school librarian position job by her attractive principle/ boss, and is a fan of pornography that includes her very well photoshopped hottie principal. Yup, that about sums it all up...

➳As Lessie arrives to her new job as a high school librarian, she encounters herself in a dilemma that has her constantly doubting her position. Being upon the presence of an attractive principle, Mr. Whitehall, also known as Ryder, she takes upon herself to engage her fantasies of him. Due to some unexpected reveal, Ryder ends up finding her "stash" of very explicit photos/ videos that she has from her friend who very well photoshopped Ryder into another man's body. With the way Helena Hunting describes Ryder, his appearance is one to drool over.. And the way he is in bed... HOT DAM! Even I had to change my panties every so often because of the steamy scenes Helena wrote about...

➳Overall, this was a love story that I do not regret buying. I am very picky with what I purchase on paperback, and I am still taken aback about the fact that I JUST found this book and had no read it. However, I am glad I did because my weekend was sure filled with all the naughtiness Ryder and Annaliese endured...

I LOVED this! This book had everything I love about a good book. It was funny, sexy, had a little forbidden romance and fantastic characters. Ryder is the principal at an expensive private school. Liese is hired as the school librarian. Liese is attracted to her boss but inter-employee dating is prohibited so she has no plans to act on it. Plus, she doesn't know if Ryder feels the same way - that is until Ryder accidentally discovers her massive porn collection when she brings her laptop to school. Ryder is such a great character. He comes across as strong and in control but also a little shy and unsure of himself. Liese is funny and sweet and I loved the build up and sexual tension between these two. Everything about this book worked for me and it was exactly what I was looking for - a light-hearted, sexy romance! This is going on my all-time favorites list and I highly recommend it!

Re-read Feb 8, 2016 - I loved this book even more after doing a re-read and listening to the audiobook. It's such a fun and sexy story. Plus, the audiobook is fantastic!

Re-read via audiobook June 2016 - I still super love this book - so much so that I'm adding it to my top 10 favorite books of all time! LOVE this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too long. Just... too damn long. And so much crap.

 photo 11072269_zpszb70kxyq.gif

This is about a relationship between a principal and a librarian. They like spanking. She has a psycho ex-boyfriend. Pretty much the entire storyline.

Now picture three hundred pages of this. I know. I am a sucker for punishment.

So much unnecessary drama... I can't even begin to explain this. So they shag very early on (20% maybe) and they end up having lots of rendezvous in his office and house. There's really nothing more going on, except for their struggle to hide their relationship from their colleagues and the ex-boyfriend's occasional creepy moments. This was the author's pathetic attempt at creating some kind of conflict so that she could drag an empty plot endlessly.

There were also plenty of inconsistencies. For instance, Ryder (a.k.a. the principal) either acts as a domineering asshole or he's blushing and acting like a fourteen year-old. Which is it? If you can't even decide on the personality of one of your main characters, how can you possibly hope to write a decent book?

So why not one star? Because, despite it all, the sex scenes were great. Not too many, and never more of the same. They were probably the only thing I don't feel like complaining about. In contrast, everything else annoys me to no end.

Can you imagine having your boss discover a stash of pornographic pictures on your computer? Your worst nightmare, right? Well, that's pretty much what happen to Liese Harper at her new school and to say she is horrified, well, that's an understatement. Good thing her boss is a hot-as-hell, sexy and somewhat domineering man who is just as hot for Liese as she is for him. But can they keep their incredibly hot chemistry and lustful thoughts under wraps so that their jobs will not be in jeopardy?

I fell in love with Ryder and absolutely loved his internal struggle as he fought his overwhelming desire for Liese. He is a complete professional and does not want to jeopardize his position or Liese's professional reputation. The trouble is, he just can't stay away from her!

The Librarian Principle is a totally fun, sexy, romantic and well-written read that will keep you thoroughly entertained and ready to return to school! There is some emotional tension later in the story, and a little bit of danger but mostly this is a highly erotic, sweet and yes, very funny sexy story that is a prefect read when you want something adult and very, very steamy. Enjoy!

3.5 weird narrative stars

This was a mainly sweet and light version of the forbidden love/affair at work story. I loved the sneaking around, secret trysts and intense gazes across the classroom going on in this. I never felt particularly angst-ridden or worried they'd be found out though, not sure whether that was deliberate or not.

The writing style took some getting used to, the language seemed a little overly formal and a bit forced at first, but the more I read, the more I got used to it. I think I'd have preferred the narrative to be in fp, not sure why it wasn't.

The banter and wit made this feel a little like a quality chick lit at times and the smut was intense and lusty, just really good.

Excellent epilogue. Recommended for lovers of low angst, funny and sexy stories.

Minor spoilers alerts!!!

I freaking loved it! I didn’t really know if I would because I am still very much hung up on Author Helena Hunting’s Clipped Wings New Adult series. I wasn’t really ready to move on to her first contemporary novel. But boy am I glad that I finally did!

This was a buddy read with two other wonderful Vixen readers, Janine and Beth. We’re all in different time zones across the globe and yet we all had similar delighted reactions. The chemistry, the humor and the pacing were bang on. The supporting characters – co-worker Blake, funny-as-hell Marissa especially, but also crazy Sean and sassy Tiffany – and their relationships with newly hired FAHL Librarian, Annaliese (aka Liese) Harper and Principal Ryder Whitehall were really fleshed out well, easily drawing them out of the background and making them integral to the main plot.

Initially, I didn’t agree with Liese’s seemingly overreaction to Ryder’s behavior switch early on that related to the central “impediment” to their secret relationship. But eventually I understood how it could be a genuine problem for two professionals in superior-subordinate roles in the education field. We’ve all heard of student-teacher inappropriate scandals. However, I had never heard of a principal-subordinate scandal prior to reading this novel so I had no frame of reference.

There were so many delightfully sexy or funny moments that it was very hard to narrow the choices down to one favorite moment. But the below scene will do nicely me thinks:

“Shh.” His thumb slipped beneath the elastic.

“We wouldn’t want anyone to think you enjoy your meetings with me. What if people got the wrong idea? Then I might have to discipline you for your indiscretions.”

“We wouldn’t want that.” Liese bit back an uneasy laugh, uncertain whether to take him seriously. Something told her he meant it when he said he would discipline her, and she might very well enjoy it.

“Speak for yourself. I think I’d rather relish handing out a punishment where you’re concerned.” Ryder’s hand tightened in her hair as his lips traveled along her jaw, drawing out the sweetest of tortures.’

Of course, it gets hotter from that point! *wink*

These two were just fiery together both in and out of the bedroom, and I seriously didn’t want their tale to end. I always love feeling that way.

Up next by this uber-talented author is Pucked (available now), another new standalone novel that I look forward to buddy reading with Beth and Janine soon. Fractures in Ink (Clipped Wings #3) will also be available this year in October 2015 and is a definite must pre-order and read for me.

I finally decided to take on this book since I've had this parked for a bit. And HH has been a favorite of mine since I started the Pucked series. That series is all kinds of funny, filthy, and wonderful. This book, however, is something I couldn't easily define. I was all kinds of excited when I started it because the blurb is that cringe-worthy. It's bound to be intriguingly enjoyable, right?

I guess it started fine. However, the story kind of plateaued for me after Ryder's discovery of Liese's stash. There wasn't enough build-up to anything and I also had a hard time to really connect to the story or the characters. Don't get me wrong, both main characters were likable enough. But that's all to it.

I don't know. Maybe I set the bar too high because this was an HH book? Shouldn't I have used my Pucked standards? I guess this would've been more than an okay book had I not read Pucked yet. So, there. I guess this was an okay read at best.

She's the new school's librarian. He's the domineering principal. A combustion of kinky and forbidden proportions starts when he discovers the large collection of porn and edited pics with both of them on her personal laptop.

I’ve read everything Helena has published and to say I was enamored with her writing, plot and characters in every Clipped Wings book is a gross understatement. They are stories that have intertwined in my heart forever. So when I saw there was a new book by her there was no hesitation, I wanted to read it.

The Librarian Principle is not exactly what I expected, but it was certainly hot, sexy and sweet. I anticipated a deep, maybe even angsty sort of story where the hero and heroine fight temptation. It’s about two people who acknowledge their mutual attraction, but the circumstances under which they meet aren’t ideal for them to pursue a public relationship so their struggle is mostly directed to outward situations.

I think Liese made it harder for me to enjoy the read. She’s not my type of heroine. Depending too much on the opinion of others indicating low self-esteem, she also lacked common sense, maturity and was mostly ruled by her horny hormones. Even when said hornyness was the source for comedy relief or many steamy scenes, it got to a point where I was truly irritated with her and just about anything she did grated on my nerves making me feel the plot at times go slow and then rushed and forced at the end.

I know it was mostly me. Had I known it was a light, comic, steamy read, or maybe just jumped in without expectations I know I would have had a more suitable frame of mind and enjoyed it so much more. In spite of my issues, it does have fun banter and laugh out loud situations which made reading this sexy story entertaining and charismatic, just like its hero. I look forward to reading more of Helena’s books.

"Sweet Forbidden Romance"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend it. I think it's an enjoyable listen, something to pass the time on a commute. The tension between Ryder and Liese, and the anticipation of them being found out, made for an entertaining story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Librarian Principle?
For me it was when Liese's parents showed up for their visit early and caught her and Ryder in the front hall. Not just because it was funny and mortifying for them, but also because of how desperate for each other they were!

Which character – as performed by Maxine Mitchell – was your favorite?
I think I liked her portrayal of Ryder best. And how she was able to differentiate the female characters' voices.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Ugh, this is like the worst question ever!

The blurb promising kinky and erotica sex with a fun comedy story. But what I found is minimum kinky and erotica sex with a very long unnecessary push and pull between two characters. I fall asleep listening to the audiobook

4.5 PLAYFUL SIZZLING AFFAIR STARS!

description

I love reading all varieties of contemporary romances; from the ones that are heart-wrenching to the ones that are light, fun, and give me a story I can totally bring my heart to relax and just enjoy the ride. The Librarian Principle was exactly the latest and I loved it. It was a playful sizzling story about forbidden attractions, unyielding desires, and a whole package of hilarious banters that kept me having all kinds of fun.

"The power of cleavage should never be underestimated."

Annaliese Harper aka "Liese" is just starting her new job as the librarian of a private school in a small town in New York. The job is perfect for her; great school, nice colleagues, and exactly the new fresh beginning she was looking for. The problem comes when she feels extremely attracted to a certain "colleague" she definitely shouldn't feel attracted to because well, that colleague is the school's principle and of course her boss.

"Having a good looking boss was one thing; crushing on him was entirely another."

The fun in this story starts right from the beginning and it gets better and better as Liese becomes more obsessed with her attraction for her principle, Ryder Whitehall. She tries to suppress her desires for him but when he talks, when he's near, and when he looks at her the way he does she just can't ignore her feelings for him. Moreover, there seems to be something in his eyes, something that makes her think he might feel it too but she can't confirm it and even if she could it would be wrong. So Liese has no other option than to keep her heated thoughts secret and try to convince herself that her infatuation is really one-sided. Well, that's until she realizes that it never really was.

"Some invisible line had been crossed, and Liese doubted she'd be able to return to the safety of the other side--the side where she pretended the attraction was all in her head."

Did I mention this story was sizzling?? Oh yes, so sizzling that is worth mentioning several times because it was pure yummy-hotness! When things finally ignite between these characters their pent-up tension explodes and drives them crazy in lust. Their desires for each other are insatiable and pretty much remorseless that moving from one night stand to a very complicated and forbidden affair almost feels natural to them. And that's when all complications start: the sneaking around, the self-doubts, the sex escapades, the rumors, the sexy banters, the meddling of others, and the ultimate longing for more.

"How do you feel about the way I look at you?"
"I feel like. . . I don't want you to stop."

I had the giggles with this book and these characters. Liese was sometimes so affected by her desires for Ryder that it was so funny to see her struggle to keep it all locked in. Her character definitely made me think of that saying, "It's always the quite ones..." because from the outside she was just the school's librarian but from the inside she was a total vixen. Ryder was funny too, seeing him transform from the so put together, intellectual, and sophisticated principle to a man that couldn't control his reckless desires was both sexy and amusing. However, most of my giggles came out when they constantly teased each other with sexy remarks that slowly led them to set several chapters in the book on fire all because deep inside they truly enjoyed the forbiddenness of their connection. . .

"Nothing and no one else existed when they were alone like this."

This story was sexy, sweet, light, and full of playfulness. I definitely enjoyed the hot-hilarious experience it gave me! ;)

4.5 out of 5 stars

Loved this! It made me so happy to read. It was full of everything I adore: funny and sexy with great characters! I was hooked from the very beginning!

I loved Liese and Ryder's animosity so much. That sexual tension and banter that was created was fantastic. It made it playful and fun and hot! You could feel their heat! Liese and Ryder together when it came to the sexy, just DAMN and OH MY THAT WAS HOT! I just had this incredible feeling of anticipation while reading, I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next.

I loved Liese. She was adventurous and could really stand up for herself when she needed to. I like that she fought off what she was feeling for so long and her internal dialogue was great. And Ryder. Oh my. Loved him. So much. Loved! He had this formal quietness but you could tell there was so much more there. When he was sweet and caring I adored it. I can't stress their chemistry enough. The two of them wanting each other was like having cake in front of you but not being able to eat it, but you want it so bad you can practically taste it - it was fantastic!

I enjoyed all the other characters and interactions, the build and how the story was laid out was fantastic. Her friend Marisa was great and I thought it was awesome that she was such a pro at photoshop (so funny!)! I also liked Liese’s parents a lot and Ryder meeting them for the first time was priceless. I liked that there was drama created with someone from Liese’s past as well, it kept it interesting but it wasn't over the top.

This was a an excellent and solid read. Great pacing and build. Loved that animosity and chemistry, there was just a great dynamic between Liese and Ryder and I felt really pulled in and enjoyed every second. That being said, as much as I loved Ryder, I wish I would have had more details about him, to know him better and to know why he ticked the way he did. That might be me being selfish too because I loved him and couldn't get enough.

Fun, refreshing, sexy and HOT HOT HOT!

The Librarian Principle by Helena Hunting was a fun, sexy read. Different in style from Helena Hunting's prior works, this is the type of story that will hit the spot if you're looking for a humorous, erotic romance with a forbidden romance overlay. There are also a number of co-workers and an ex-boyfriend who contribute to the chaos, making this an interesting read, particularly for anyone who has ever thought about or tried to have a romance with a co-worker.

Annaliese Harper, high school librarian, is having the epitome of bad day when her boss, the high school principal (Ryder Whitehall), discovers her porn collection in an impromptu meeting. The fact that her collection also happens to feature photo shopped images of the two of them is just the icing on the cake. Annaliese is prepared for the worst, but imagine her surprise when instead of firing her, Ryder makes his mutual attraction evident.

Can there possibly be a future for in store for this couple when their school has a strict non-fraternization policy? Is their attraction so strong that they are willing to put their jobs and professional reputation on the line to explore it? Moreover, given that lust is what initially attracts them to one another, will they find that there is a deeper connection that could form the basis for a HEA?

All in all, I enjoyed The Librarian Principle. While the romantic in me would have liked there to be a greater connection between the two main characters prior to their involvement, their encounters no doubt provide for a shockingly, sexy risque type of love affair.

Narrator Review: This was a pretty good narrator. The multiple characters were easily distinguishable but I admit I wasn't a fan of Ryders voice. I would have liked his character more if I had read it, instead of listening.

Story Review: This was pretty good. I didn't love it, but was entertained by it. Good humor, just not as good as the authors Pucked series. The misunderstandings between the two were a bit too much and I would have preferred more couple time. Not overly angsty and no OW drama.

This year was a great one for me in terms of finding new authors that rocked my world and were added to my favorites list. Helena Hunting was one of those. Her Clipped Wings series was my favorite of 2014 and the hero of the book (Hayden Stryker) was also my top book boyfriend. The emotional depth of those stories was unrivaled, and her story telling is truly exquisite. Those are reasons I was excited to read her newest book which released on December 21st.

The Librarian Principle is a completely different type of story, and I think that’s important for you to know before you read it. It’s romantic and sweet, full of lots and lots of yummy sexy times, and has just enough emotional tension throughout to keep you on your toes.

I didn't finished it, I read few chapters until they had sex in library. I understood people not Saints, they may did things wrong, but a principal n librarian having sex in school? Sorry i really don't accept it. Maybe just change the job of the characters, I may enjoy reading it.

Teachers need to be a good model especially when they deal with kids, it will be fine if they r working in college or university, but high school? Sorry, I can't take it.

I got the book because Mary Whitney gave five stars n I thought about if she enjoy reading it, I may. However, when the sex was described in a high school, inside the library, it's totally not my cup of tea.

No star will be given because I didn't finish the book even some lines r funny

“Ms. Harper?” The voice came from behind her.

She jumped and fumbled with her phone. In a protective, graceless move, she clutched it to her chest for a moment before frantically punching the off button. She shoved it back in her purse and turned to find the principal in question standing mere feet away.

Her eyes were level with his chest, and his brilliant red tie seemed to function as an arrow, pointing down to where she shouldn’t be looking. Despite herself, Liese took a moment to appreciate the fit of his suit and the way it hugged the long, muscular lines of his body. His shirt had to be tailored with the way it pulled across his chest, highlighting broad shoulders that tapered into a narrow waist. She imagined he must be cut under all those clothes, a thought she knew she shouldn’t ruminate on overly much.

She looked up; at five-foot-seven Liese wasn’t particularly short, but her principal had a good six inches on her, forcing her to tilt her head back to make eye contact. She made a concerted effort to keep her eyes on his face, lest her gaze wander lower, her mind still stuck on the pornographic image she’d been ogling.

Not that looking at his face was a problem. His eyes were a vibrant, rather mesmerizing shade of aquamarine, sucking her in. His short, dark hair was neatly styled, and Liese had the inexcusable desire to run her fingers through and mess it up. The straight line of his nose contrasted sharply with the soft, full curve of his lips.

“Mr. Whitehall, hi, hello.” Liese cringed internally at the high, edgy tenor of her voice.

Mr. Whitehall leaned in, close enough that she could feel the apocalyptic heat he emitted. “It’s just Ryder unless there are students present, Ms. Harper.”

OMG!!! Why did I wait so long to read this book?! It was freaking brilliant! I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard while reading a book. It was so romantic, lovely, and so sexy! The sexual tension between Liese and Ryder was scorching! I found myself gripping my iPad tighter and tighter with each sexy scene. It was ridiculously erotic. I mean WOW! My heart was pounding. I couldn't stop biting my lip and I was constantly fanning myself it was so hot! I enjoyed every single thing about this book. The taboo relationship angle between principle and librarian was brilliant. These two characters were amazing together. Helena Hunting has made her mark with THE LIBRARIAN PRINCIPLE. This is a story that will stick with you for days, weeks, and months. I can tell you this is going in my re-read pile for sure!

I love taboo romance, but I've never read one quite like this. I enjoyed the premise so much and I couldn't take my eyes of the pages. This was a very well-written story, with bits of humor, romance, and suspense. Liese was incredibly relatable and I enjoyed her banter with Ryder so much. Ryder was an amazing male lead. This domineering and gorgeous man stole my heart from the very beginning. Even though I wanted to smack him a couple of times, his charming demeanor won me over and I fell head over heels for him. The main characters weren't the only ones who stole the show. The secondary characters were fantastic as well. Marissa, Liese's BFF, has me laughing my ass off quite a few times. If she got her own story, I would read it in a heartbeat!

If you are craving a very enjoyable, humorous read, with plenty of flirtatious banter and palpable scenes, THIS is the book for you. Be prepared for a long night, because once you begin, you WILL NOT be able to put it down.

No sé.

Librarian has the hots for the principal of her school, they begin a clandestine affair and eventually it all works out.

If the author is reading this, she should release a newer edition after hiring an editor. There's just too many pages in there, reducing the pace to a tortoise-one, its a miracle I finished the book! It is a shame bcos the premise was interesting, the H was amazing. The second half of the book, especially the last few chapters and epilogue are the best part of the book. The h was a bit irritating, she was so clumsy, stumbling around all the time, everything she planned , something else happened, when she was upset she got too drunk and embarrassed herself, which I dislike reading about - I was surprised she even made it alive to thirty! The supporting cast, the h's friends were fun and interesting, this book has a lot of potential to be better in the hands of a good editor.

Overall it is a sweet, hot romance which can be a bit trying on the reader's patience.

Super cute romance contemporary. Funny and sexy with perfectly delish chemistry between the protagonists and some nice, dirty, VERY ACTIVE love scenes. :) Forbidden romance is always a fav and when this librarian and principal get together the sparks fly. A great cast of secondary characters round out the story with a few subplots to help get our couple to their HEA. I was a little confused as to the stalker aspect-it seemed overkill but not enough to lessen my enjoyment of the story. I am looking forward to reading more by Hunting in the future.

I was sold when I first saw Cristina her review and I immediately bought it.. Then I started reading it and discovered why I didn't buy it before.. It's not in first person pov..

While I dislike books that are in third person, because it's harder to connect for me. I still got to enjoy this one immensely. But it also wasn't for me because it was in third person.
