4.5 rock star voodoo stars!

My love for rocker romances brought this book to my attention, even though I had never heard of the author before. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this story. I got much more than expected once I started reading.

The main characters Dash (sexy lead singer in Redemption band) and Jules (journalist for a food/wine magazine) are both broken, living in darkness. Fortunately Jules has a strong support system in the form of her two best friends Val & Trace. They have been there for her through her darkest times and she can't bring herself to disappoint them by refusing to go to the concert, even though she really doesn't want to. She doesn't even like that kind of music, preferring classical.

Well, let's just say that concert opened a door that changed her life. The raw sound of that sexy voice singing those dark and pain filled lyrics reached out to her. Those piercing blue eyes, they saw into her soul. Well, at least it felt that way as she watched from the jumbotron in the concert venue.

Get ready for an exciting journey that starts with a backstage pass and cherry lip gloss. Get ready to giggle with the girls as they prepare for their night out with, "slap me slutty and call me a groupie". Get ready to throw your kindle at HIM . You know, that man , the one that makes your skin crawl, and shall go unnamed? Get ready for some culinary delight...at the restaurant...on the kitchen floor, etc... (wink-wink). And get ready for a eyebrow raising, jaw dropping ending that will have you standing in line for more...behind me, of course.

1 Kiss

I hate DNF’ing books…I really do. I don’t take it lightly either, but if I am cringing every other page and rolling my eyes on the others…then I know I can’t force myself to keep going or it’s just going to get worse. I love rock star books and from the sounds of the synopsis of Sex, Desires & Rock n Roll I thought I was in for a great book…but it just didn’t work for me.

My first problem was the prologue…it took me a while to finally get the hang of the writing because it was in third-person omniscient…I think. Like I said it took me a while to get the hang of it and I think that’s why…that’s not an easy POV to pull off and it felt jumpy and confusing and I really didn’t have anything to latch onto and with what is being described and the emotions that it can bring out, I feel like it should have been strictly from Jules POV…it would have been more powerful and I would have connected me more to her.

After the prologue, we’re strictly in Jule’s POV which was fine…but then came one of my biggest pet peeves…repetition. If I read the word ‘tendrils’ on more time I was going to lose it. And it wasn’t just that, there were a few things that were repetitive and I can’t help it, it’s like a tic for me, my eyes automatically roll…and it takes away from my enjoyment of the story. The other big thing is that I’m an emotional reader and I need to connect…for whatever reason, that just wasn’t happening here…especially with Jules – and considering she’s the female MC…I needed that.

There were a lot of little things too…like the dialogue sometimes felt a little…off, it didn’t feel conversational, part of that also tied in with the repetition, it almost felt robotic at times.. There were parts that were a bit cheesy and cliché – I know it’s a rock star book, so some things are going to be cliché but I always appreciate putting a twist on it and the author making it their own and that didn’t happen. The other thing was…Jules is supposed to be 26…I don’t remember how old the other girls were (or if it was even said before I stopped reading) but none of them were acting 26. I’m not saying you need to be super mature or anything but…there were times these girls were acting like 18, 19 or 20 year olds. It just seemed really juvenile. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I have my moments of immaturity too but…it just didn’t mesh well in my head…I couldn’t connect.

I really hate when books don’t work out for me…I take it personally, because I have such a love for books and I feel like I did something wrong, but I know it’s not possible to love everything and every book isn’t for every reader. I might be in the minority with this one and I’m okay with that…I wish I could have connected with it like others did.

Books written in third person are just not for me... At all.
I feel that it should be said in the synopsis along with if your book is going to end in a cliffhanger. Or is going to be part of a series.
Give the reader an option weather or not they want to read your book and avoid any negative reviews because of it.
It's actually one of my pet-peeves in books. I like to be fully informed of what I'm getting into before reading a book.
With all that being said... I just don't think this book was for me.
It wasn't just the third person dialogue. Because it's not through out the whole book. Just the beginning.
It was also the internal dialogue.
I like to know what goes on in a characters head. But I don't want to read a whole conversation that they are having in their head. That's another one of my pet-peeves.
But... Overall.. I just couldn't get into it. I hated how Jules kept reliving her past in her mind....Every 5 seconds. Her relationship with Dash seemed rushed...& the I love you were also thrown out to fast.
This book leave off in a cliffhanger... I hate that.
I just didn't think this book was for me.

I received this book as a ARC, in exchange for an honest review.

I give this book 5 rockin' stars!!! It would be more, but that's the highest Goodreads go, lol.

I absolutely LOVED this frickin book. I knew I would, because I have enjoyed all of Michelle's writing.

I just truly adored Jules. I won't say Julia, because well only the asshat called her that, and she hates it. But I guess I could call her Sunshine, because that will work as well, coming from a beautiful mouth, such as Mr. Rock star himself.

Jules is just so genuine, how can you not love her. She had a rough, first love, she finally excaped. She is making a better life for herself, doing awesome with great friends bacing her up along the way, and then she meets, him. AAHHHHHhhhhhh so delictable, H-O-T, amazing, understanding, swoon worthy, to die rock star. And he rocked her socks off.

Dash Ford, the awesome-ness I was just gawking over. He is just as broken, but with Sunshine in the picture, they seem to balance eachother perfect. I love the way he just gets her, and she gets him, when she went to him on the anniversary of the death, he didn't push her away, which honestly is what I was afraid he was going to do. Then once again, he surprised me. He might be a rock God, and to the outside world a woman-izer, but he is nothing of the sort. (thank you Michelle)

There was just enough steam in the book, to make it perfect, and not overly done, nor where it wasn't enough. ----Perfecto :)

Of course it breaks my heart as much as Jules when he had to leave. I was so looking forward to the surprise she had for himm, but we didn't make it that far. :(
But also before that surprise takes place, she has the interview, and it ends up is going to be the interview from hell, when the name Julia was said, my heart fell.

Now, I am just hoping that when I get the next one, it all works out well. I have a bad feeling about this. Please, let me be wrong, please let me be wrong.

It is all working out so well with them two, I hope it continues, because every woman deserves a good man, we don't need the drama of him screwing it up in Europe, are some crazy crap like that, lol.
Because I know Jules would never be are want to be with that Blake piece of $h!+ EVER again. I just hope he doesn't threaten her, using him, cause I think Dash will kill him. But we don't need any trouble, right, haha.

Ok, so now I have spoken my hopes, not that they will become reality, but a woman can wish, right?!!!!!

Please hurry Michelle, PLEASEEEEEEE.
I want MORE, so much MORE of Dash and Jules, I have fallen in love with them :)

Sex, Desires, and Rock n’ Roll by Michelle Lee was not like most of the Rocker Romances out there. Unlike many, this book wasn’t full of angst or unrealistic drama. The issues Dash and Jules – the main characters – faced were very much real-life situations that many people live through on a daily basis.

Jules had finally escaped a horrible nightmare – her abusive ex-boyfriend. To say she was emotionally broken would be an understatement. Her ex, Blake, robbed her of any and all confidence and self-esteem she could’ve had. He destroyed her. After several months of starting over, her best friends convinced her to go with them to a concert. Little did Jules know, that night would change her life in many ways.

Dash was the lead singer of Redemption, the band Jules and her friends went to see. The second Jules heard his voice, she was a goner. His lyrics reached into her soul and it was as if he got her. She felt like he could see her…really see her.

Given the fact that Jules’ bff did the PR for Redemption, they all got to visit with the band backstage after the concert. And so, Jules and Dash met face-to-face. Since that very first night, Dash proved to be everything Jules needed in her life. He calmed her, completed her, and gave light to her very dark days. He was perfect for her. Thing is, without knowing it, Jules in many ways saved Dash as well. You see, he too, had his inner demons and guilt he battled with every day.

My heart ached for Jules and Dash and all the pain they carried. They were relatable and down to earth characters and I loved how well they connected. The overall storyline leaned more towards the emotional side of things and I liked how it all progressed. Towards the ending, I could see a cliffhanger coming, and sure enough I was right. Once Dash left for a European tour, Jules’ worst nightmare became a reality. Suffice it to say, I’m looking forward to the next installment in this series! Four stars to Rock, Desires, and Rock n’ Roll by Michelle Lee.

As shown on Books and Boys Book Blog.

Ok stop reading this book if you have not read the one before it. Although this book doesn’t outright state that it is a second in a series I would highly recommend that you read the first book Sex, Desires & Rock n’ Roll first. I started this book and felt I was missing something so went back and looked and realised there was a book prior to this that sets the whole story up really well and gave me a really good understanding of who everyone was and why they were the way they were meaning I was more emotionally involved with them.

Once I got into this book it was another great 4 star read for me. As I said you get to know the characters of Jules and Dash in book one and I had fallen for Dash myself and loved reading as Jules developed into a stronger character throughout.

Unfortunately in this book they have to face the world and try and out the logistics of being a couple who are not in the same place together for an extended period. Jules who has major doubts about why someone like her could land someone like Dash for a little while let alone hold onto him starts to struggle with what is going on in her head. She can’t quite get past the self-deprecation and when things appear about Dash she feels she was right to doubt herself. Of course there are many voices that feed into what Jules feels and there are many things she has to contend with that she can’t quite see past. Dash being away from her is maybe too much to cope with.

“My heart rips into more pieces as the tears start to fill the corners of my eyes.”

Also struggling with the distance is Dash and he can’t make enough assurances to convince Jules how he feels through the distance. He craves to be near her and by actually touching her he knows he can convey his true feelings. Dash is as sweet and considerate in this book as he was on the first and I think I might have fallen slightly in love with him myself. I was cheering him throughout and he did not disappoint.

“’I do. I will. You’re …you’re my heart, Dash. You’re my heart.’ He hugs me against his chest, his hand soothingly rubbing my back-rubbing away all the hurt…all the doubt. ‘One day you’ll say that in front of witnesses.’”

If only true love was easy and smooth. Really who am I kidding it’s a lot more interesting to read when it is not. For these two it isn’t smooth at all as there are many doubts and obstacles put in their way. My heart broke for them with the hurt they went through. Jules was put through the ringer with people feeding her doubts and her ex lurking around in the background and I was dreading the moment when he would do something.

I loved how this story closed out and I felt that I had really enjoyed it. I was getting a bit concerned that it was bordering on dragging it out a bit as there is only so many times you can read about the sex they had and then the doubts Jules had but I was pleased to read through the end without wanting to give up on it. I also hope that we get to hear more about the others and if that is going to be the case I then would happily sign up for the preorder now. This was a new author to me with book one but I know I’ll be reading a lot more from her in the future.

Jules was a broken woman trying to take her life back and regain her confidence. I enjoyed her strength and determination. Being in her head when she met Dash and had all of those wildly conflicting emotions was quite an experience for me as a reader.
Things almost seemed a bit too fast with Jules and Dash at times, but the storyline itself had pulled me in and, despite the speed, I wanted to know more about her, him, them, her past, and where this thing between them could go.
Michelle Lee really nailed the voice of an abusive partner in this book.
During their first date, Dash and Jules covered a lot of ground in getting to know one another. When they started sharing about their families, Dash got very quiet, which added to the mystery of his story and made me want to know more about his past and how it gave him an understanding of Jules' struggles. The way that Dash craved trying a relationship with her was so sweet and endearing, especially coming from a rockstar. I was invested in their story and wanted them to be successful.
When Jules began recounting her abuse for Dr. Hoffman, the scenes of memories were bone-chillingly scary. The damage done to her ran deep within her, but made her strength and need to climb out of that abyss that much more impressive.
There was a lot of adversity that Dash and Jules were facing both internally and externally. I very much enjoyed watching them work together to overcome it all.
As Dash prepared to leave for Redemption's tour, I was so worried about their separation and the possible setbacks and difficulty it may cause Jules. Now that she knew about Dash's demons things were much clearer and it allowed their connection to be even deeper. The scenes with Jules after Dash left for his tour were soul-crushing to read. Her despair was palpable. The ending left me needing the next book ASAP.
I enjoyed this book and found it to have more depth than I originally expected. Many tough issues were tackled within its pages. This was my first book by Michelle Lee, but I am definitely eager to read more from her.

Disappointed

Not much rock and roll. More about Jules and her problems I think the title is misguided. The songs are terrible.

WARNING book 1 in series this one ends in a cliffhanger.

Review:

This is the first book in the Redemption Tour series. It is a darker romance. That does end in a cliffhanger. Lucky for you if you hate waiting a long time for the second part of a series. Part two is about to be released. I have mixed feelings about this book. I think that it has a very interesting plot. Jules was in a relationship with an extremely controlling man who was both physically and emotionally abusive. Eighteen months after Jules walked away from her abuser, she meets rocker Dash Ford. You can almost feel the sparks between Jules and Ford, the chemistry is that evident. The pacing of the story is where this book loses a 5 star rating from me. Jules is lacking in self confidence, a result of her past relationship. I get it. It is hard to trust someone after something like this happens, but reading Jules’s conversation with herself about how unworthy she is page after page, chapter after chapter detracted from what is a good story in my opinion. As I mentioned this book ends in a cliffhanger. Nothing much gets resolved, but it is an interesting twist to the story. The character development is slow. Even though Jules seeks help, she still has that same defeated personality. Dash, however seems to grow and meet every challenge that he is faced with. Yes I liked this book, I hope that Jules develops more in the next book.

3.5 out of 5 stars

I received a copy of this story for an honest review for The Reading Room Blog.

I'm a huge rock and roll romance fan. So when I got the opportunity to check out Sex, Desires & Rock N' Roll by Michelle Lee I was stoked.

Julia Megan Bennett , or Jules to everyone who loves her, is slowly rebuilding her life after surviving a horrific abusive relationship. Jules battles back dark memories with the joy that comes from time with her best friends and the traction she is gaining as a food and wine writer. When a girls night out leads to a face to face with a devastatingly handsome rock star, Jules gets an inkling he may be the one to push the darkness away for good.

As the lead singer of popular band Redemption Dash Ford has found fame and success. But there is a heartbreak in him that popularity and groupies hasn't been able to touch. When he locks eyes with Jules, instinct kicks in and lets him know this stranger is important and may serve as the key to his illusive happiness.

Can two damaged souls find the strength to start over and take a risk on love?

What I Loved: Sex, Desires & Rock N’ Roll has a pretty important message about learning to heal and forgiving yourself for things in your past that cannot be changed. Author Michelle Lee deserves some kudos for highlighting the power counseling has on heroine Jules’s attempts to deal with her past and rebuild her life. Dash and Jules have great chemistry that translates to some steamy interactions.

What I Didn’t Love: There is a lot going on in Sex, Desires & Rock N’ Roll and at times the focus got a little blurry for me. The story shifts between the impact of Jules’s physical/emotional abuse by her ex and her struggles with moving forward, the threat Jules's ex still poses to her, Dash’s celebrity as a rock star and the impact Jules has on the band, and Jules’s fighting to build her career as a Food & Wine writer. I would have loved a little more time on Dash and Jules building their relationship and even a chance to know the other members of Redemption slightly better. No spoilers but please be warned the ending of Sex, Desires & Rock N’ Roll is a cliff-hanger.

Favorite Quotes:

“The words I write and sing hold my truth, and my truth is dark, Sunshine.”

“I wish I knew what was going on in that pretty little head of yours. You get this look in your eyes, and your cheeks flush with a soft pink every once in a while. I’ve never been too fond of the color pink, but you are changing my feelings toward it. I’m starting to really love that color.”

“You’ve got me, baby. Actually you’ve had me since the first time I saw you. You’re mine. Only mine. Just so we’re clear.”

Though Sex, Desires & Rock N’ Roll has a few bumps I would recommend it for rock and roll romance fans. The story has a good message and the leads have promising chemistry. It will be interesting to see what author Lee has in store for Dash and Jules.

Happy reading.

To start off I loved the cover, the title doesn't make a lot of sense yes its about rockers but there not a lot of sex until the end and desires no sure where that came in . But it ends in a major Cliffhanger but if a books going to end in a cliffhanger I love one like this. I cant wait for the next book.ike being on

Jules Bennett is suffering years after a horrible relationship that broken her down, stripped her of herself and years later causes her to suffer still. Until Dash Ford walks into her life with his voice, he's eyes and the way he brightens her life. He calms her when she is at her weakest moment, he saves her when she needs a life support and is the light to her dark.

But up and coming rockster Dash Ford has his own inner darkness he battles. He sister was involved in a horrible violent not only physical but emotional but she was not as lucky as Jules. She didn't hit rock bottom before she got out her rockbottom was her death. Dash battles with the demons of his sister death and not being able to help her when she needed him the most.

"The words I wirte and sing hold my truth, and my trush is dark,Sunshine."- Dash

Jules becomes Dash Sunshine, the light in all his darkness. Jules sees herself as broken but Dash sees her a survivor and strong. He helps her to want more.
"I am lost and found all at once. I breath him in- a scent that is uniquely him, like the ocean and like being on stage-its calms me."- Jules

I loved the story of a broken girl who meets super star but he has his own demons. But even Dash is made out to be super star rocker. He a down to earth knows who he is and his flaws. He went from playful to insecure in mintues. Another plus was that he waited for her to be ready to have sex. A lot of books I have read especially rockers sex is the very first thing. But Dash got to know her, spent time with both of them healing each other. Dash made Jules want to get help for her self. Michelle wrote some heart breaking things for a women to endure in a relationship. For a women to trust a partner to love her and support her. BUt Jules ex won her trust then broke her down not only physically but mentally. Where when she meets Dash he does everything Blake didn't he wanted to keep her safe, to love her and be with her for just her.

Jules has her own career and was secure in her life. Dash didn't rush in and want to be her knight in shining armor he wanted to be her friend and lover.

The only thing I didn't care for was closer to the end we read Jules progress to become her own person but she became the really whinny girl doubting Dash love when he about to go on the road. Once he does a shocking ending to Jules book. I want to know wants in store after that shocking ending and what happens when Dash is on the road.

4 rock stars!! I need more Dash in my life…..like yesterday!

Julia is a broken girl after leaving her abusive past behind. While wallowing in her own self pity, her friend decide to take her to the Redemption concert. Dash, the lead singer of Redemption, meets Jules and it’s over. He has a need to protect her from her darkness no matter what the cost. And while she’s head over heels for Dash, she’s also finding the urge to be strong when thrown into the spotlight with Dash. And while Dash is trying to protect Jules, he’s also battling his own demons. So can these two work through their darkness and make it last?

I really liked this book and I’m a sucker for rock romances, but while I liked it, I will say there were parts that became repetitive. I loved Dash and Jules and their story, but I don’t need to be reminded over and over about Jules past and what she’s dealt with. Overall a great start to the series, and I can’t wait to read more!

Sex, Desires, & Rock N Roll by Michelle Lee is the first book in the Redemption Tour Series. My initial thought of this romance was that it wasn't going to be your typical rocker romance. Dash was so much more than a musician. He captured my soul within the first pages of meeting him. The tempo of the story was utterly perfect. This book shot right to my heart in so many ways.

We meet Jules in the very beginning of the book she is on her way with her closest friends to a Redemption concert. She isn't keen on rock music, but her friends convince her that she won'r want to miss the show. The minute she hears Dash sing and look into her eyes; she is suddenly feeling some strong emotions. She is surprised how much his soulful lyrics shoot right to her heart. Jules and her friends are fortunate enough to be able to meet the band backstage. Jules feels magnetized to Dash. When he looks at her, she feels like they are somehow connected. When Dash shows the same interest, she knows that this could only be a dream. These things never happen especially to a damaged girl like her. Dash has some demons of his own and by the sound of his lyrics, I would assume his heart is in need of some mending. The kind that only Jules can give him. Dash turns her ordinary world upside down and the roller-coaster ride they embark on is one that won't last forever. Well, at least in Jules eyes. Dash has plans for Jules. Plans that threaten to break her heart in the end.

The flow of this story was refreshing to read. I didn't feel rushed, and Dash and Jules took their romance at a perfect pace. They both needed to find what they were looking for in one another before they could complete their connection. Dash was sweet and tender with Jules. He treated her the way she deserved to be treated, and his actions meant the world to her. Dash and Jules were a true and unique couple to fall in love with.

I'm not going to lie the ending was unexpected, and I felt like I needed more. No one loves a cliffhanger, and patience is a virtue. For Dash, I believe it's worth it though. If you are looking for a new rock n roll romance to fall in love with, then this is the book for you. I look forward to more from Jules and Dash real soon.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this story, but Michelle Lee managed to suck me into it and had me silently screaming when I got to the last page.

Jules is a survivor. She may not have the ability to see past what her ex, Blake, did to her. But she survived. I was a little worried when she began this rather intense relationship with Dash, but it became very obvious, very quickly, that Dash gives her the mechanism to pull herself out of the dark spiral she finds herself falling into. He becomes the catalyst for her to finally seek professional help. And the one that shows her over and over again how a man should treat a woman, especially the one he loves. Their relationship is intense, even when they weren't having sex because they were going slow, but you could see how each of them were a balm to the other.

Dash has his own set of issues. Coincidentally, Dash's issues revolve around something similar to Jules' situation. It gives him a unique insight into just how much Jules has survived. He tends to go a bit overboard with her on certain things, but I think that's his way of compensating for what he couldn't stop before. Luckily, I never question Dash's feelings for Jules and know that what he's doing is because of her and not someone else.

There's some creep factor to some of the characters. Roland, the band's manager gives me the willies and I question if he's up to no good. Then there's the matter of Jules' ex, who we know is up to no good, and what he might be planning. These characters kept me on edge, making the hair on the back of my neck stand up when Jules started questioning things. Even though they make me cringe, it's an aspect to the storyline that I'm anxious to see play out.

Michelle Lee is new to me and I truly enjoyed her voice and her way of storytelling. She created a couple who's sexual chemistry leaped off the page at me and had me believe everything they felt. I look forward to the next book in the series as Jules and Dash's story continues.

Sex, Desires, and Rock N Roll by Michelle Lee

You go through the book reading from Jules point of view so you get to know a lot about her. There is violence but only in flashbacks. And as for sex scenes there are a couple, but Dash and Jules are a new couple so it isn’t a prominent part of the book.

Michelle Lee has done an amazing job on writing Sex, Desires, and Rock n Roll. I will start off by saying this is the first book I have ever read from this author but I was thoroughly engrossed in it. Dash and Jules make an amazing couple. Jules is a strong, smart, and all around wonderful person who has had a rough go of things. Dash is talented and strong and has been through a tough time of his own. When they meet it’s due to a friend of Jules and you can tell immediately that their chemistry is going to be off the charts. You go through the book hoping that Jules and Dash wont have to worry about their past’s, but there’s always that feeling that something will happen and this book doesn’t disappoint. Sorry folks no spoilers are gonna come from me ;-) Sadly this book does end on a cliffhanger which normally deters me from a book, but please do not let it deter you this book kept me on the edge of my seat as to how it was going to play out! I absolutely cannot wait to read the next installment of Dash and Jules. Throughout this book you will meet quite a few different characters. The guys in the band with Dash are Vic and Lance, there’s Roland the manager, and one of the bodyguards that you hear a lot about is Russell. As for friends of Jules, there is Val and Tracy. While they do not play as large of a roll in the book as Jules and Dash they are important to each person in their own right. I loved how Dash cares for Jules and how when the situation is reversed Jules takes amazing care of Dash as well. I fell in love with the characters and I seriously hope that you will too.

Sex, Desires & Rock n' Roll by Michelle Lee is the first book in her new series Redemption Tour. This book has a slight cliffhanger ending so be prepared. But the story is so worth the ending.

Jules is recovering from emotional and physical abuse at the hands of her ex, Blake. She still has anxiety and panic attacks and lives a very calm, sheltered life as a wine and restaurant journalist for one of the bigger magazines in that genre. When her best friends drag her to a rock concert of all things, there is some earth shattering chemistry going on between her and the lead singer.

Dash Ford has his own troubled past, but the chemistry and connection he experiences with Jules is a breath of air in his life. As lead singer of Redemption who are starting to hit it big time life is busty and already hitting the spotlight. Can Jules handle that much attention, even for the man she could come to love?

The only thing that would've made this book better would've been having a POV from Dash throughout. Amazing read. Not overly steamy, but it tells a story at a very steady pace and builds the drama slowly and steadily.

I am learning as the night goes on that Dash Ford was a contradiction - an enigma. And I want more than anything to figure him out, but I have a feeling I never will.~ Jules

I love Dash. I love how he feels about what happened to his sister-not the guilt but the love and desire to protect and be there. I love his unassuming way and how he is with Jules. I love that even though he is a rock star he still is centered and grounded. He is a rogue when needed but a gentleman through and through. I didn’t expect that ending I expected the ex at some point but not that ending. Wow…I am happy though that Jules reached inside herself and pulled the light and didn’t succumb to the darkness she was feeling. Jules is a victim. A victim of loving the wrong person and thinking her love could change someone. After years she gets away but the panic and flashbacks still have a chokehold on her. A character we all feel for and hope she can overcome the dark past that strangles her. When she meets Dash light is brought forth. He helps her start to heal and see the worth again in who she is. their relationship is tender and sweet. One that has you smile till the end. They help each other heal and find what love really is. Each moment we read about just endears them more to you. Dash is so precious and kind it will make your heart melt. His way with Jules is just so so tender and wonderful. This is a sweet tender romance that will have your heart melt and you smile throughout as you see these two help each other heal and find what they need to feel safe and happy. A love story that endears you to the characters as they become close and support each other and lend each other strength while filling each other’s lives with joy and happiness.

Review of Sex, Desires, and Rock n’ Roll (Redemption Tour Book 1) by Michelle Lee

4 ½ out of 5 stars

Julia Bennett was in the relationship from hell. She was physically and emotionally abused by her ex Blake. She finally got the courage to leave him and press charges against him after he put her in the hospital.

After years of hearing how useless and undesirable she is, Julia has no self-esteem left. So when the hot, sexy singer of the Dash Ford of the band redemption shows interest in her, she is doubtful of his true intentions.

Dash is battling his own demons. He is not your typical bad boy rocker. When he meets the beautiful Jules (Julia Bennett), he is mesmerized. She is his own “Sunshine” in his darkness. He understands what Jules needs.

Dash and Jules are each other’s soul mates but Dash’s career and lifestyle leave Jules struggling to fit in. Dash will do whatever he has to do to make their relationship work, but when he leaves to go on his European tour, all hell breaks loose.

I loved this book. Julia is an inspiration for other abused women. She is strong and courageous. I hope her and Dash can make it through the tough times ahead of them.

The author left us with a huge cliffhanger, but I cannot wait to read book 2. I absolutely recommend this book.

Julia “Jules” Bennett is eighteen months removed from a physical, mental and emotionally abusive relationship with Blake. Still reeling from the turmoil and lingering self-doubt and memories, Jules’ best friends, Val and Tracy, drag her to a Redemption concert and Jules will never be the same.

Dash Ford is the lead singer of Redemption. Meeting Jules the night of the concert changes Dash’s world. He recognizes the need to protect Jules from her demons and is there to help calm her and save her from herself when the memories become too strong for Jules to fight.

Jules and Dash are two suffering souls that are drawn together. Jules knows she needs to be strong enough to handle Dash’s popularity and lifestyle. Dash just wants to protect Jules from the world. Will both of them open up to share their pasts with each other in order for them to both become stronger in the long run? Can they slay each other’s dragons and find their happy ever after?

This was a heavy book—not your typical rock star story. At times, I found it to be very repetitive and almost to a point where the author just reminding the reader ad nausea that Jules was broken and needed fixing. I really wanted to like it more—I LOVED Dash, Val and Tracy and the rest of the band. Jules grew on me toward the end, but the cliffhanger ending didn’t help matters. ~Missy, 3 stars

This book had me hooked from page one, it was just what I needed to read and so different to what I read in the past and it hits home that this does happen and can happen to anybody.

Julie or Jules as we get to know her is scared and for a long time she didn't know what to do her best friends. Val and Tracey know why she like that way, so one night they take her to see a new rock band called Redemption. Dash is the lead singer for the band and carries some demons from his past that mirror Jules.
Dash meets Jules backstage of his show and the chemistry is there for them both, they can both feel it but for Jules she too scared she been hurt in the past and doesn't think she worth it. They don't fight it any longer and get together. Jules gets a feeling she being watched and as soon as Dash goes on tour she realized she is as when she goes out on a girls night she sees a face from her past she didn't want to see, not wanting to dwell on it she goes to her interview without her friends when she realizes it was true her past has caught up with her.

Can't wait for book two Michelle has done a good job with this story.

Jules is making a new life for herself after escaping a nightmare. Her friends bring her to a concert where she meets Dash and they are immediately attracted to each other. At the after party Jules has a panic attack and Dash takes her away to calm her down. This is the beginning of their sweet and sexy love affair. Jules is struggling with the after effects of her time with an abusive monster and she is getting help through it which includes Dash. Dash has demons of his own and shares about the death of his sister and how it has effected him. They grow so much closer. Then he has to leave to go on tour.

My heart just ached for everything that Jules endured and her struggle to work through it now. She is such a strong and courageous woman and I just loved that Dash was right there with her and just loved her though it. They are each other's light as they are emerging out of the darkness.

I give Sex, Desires, & Rock 'n Roll 4 hearts!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The title alone is enough to sell this book. I always love a good rocker story and while this one is fantastic, it's not your typical rocker book. Jules finds herself finally out of the depths of an abusive relationship and finds herself falling for Dash, the lead singer for Redemption. Even though Dash is reaching the stardom he always wanted, he's got a darkness to him that Jules brings sunshine to.

Two lost souls coming together makes for a beautiful love story. I felt all the angst and all the feels of this book. I love how Michelle Lee touches on the importance of healing and carrying on. Jules finds herself finally loving again and moving forward only to have her abusive past shoved back in her face. And what a way to leave you hanging! Major cliffy!!

DNF chapter 7 and I was done. 2.5 stars and that's pushing it NIcely.! What can I say, this book was slightly on the lame side. I pushed through it but I just found it extremely unrealistic. I think sometimes writers over dramatise a problem and think that it gives good substance for a story line. I can understand the whole panic attack thing but Jules was just too vulnerable for this type of story. I mean really, a rocker leaves his after party of his first huge home show to look after a girl he doesn't really know and wraps her up and protects her like she is a baby animal. Bizzare and so unrealistic I wanted to gag.! Sorry could not move past the corniness of the first few chapters I gave up.

An ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

I must say I enjoyed this sexy rockstar romance! Dash Ford is the lead singer in the rock band Redemption. Jules is a journalist for a wine magazine. She has a difficult past and was in an abusive relationship. Jules and Dash meet at a backstage Redemption concert. Jules is attracted to Dash, but is not looking for a relationship. Dash doesn't do relationships but sees something special in Jules. But Jules's ex isn't ready to let her go just yet.

Will Dash be able to keep Jules safe? Will the rockstar and reserved journalist be able to make a relationship work?

If you're looking for a new rockstar romance to check out, then I recommend giving this one a read!

I will start off saying Wow, this author really knows how to play with your raw emotions really well, in fact I didn't know if I wanted to cry one minute or scream the next. The damn cliffhanger at the end really has my mind racing and wanting to read the next one asap. I cant believe how wonderful the story is. I got hooked right away and that was nothing compared to what I felt towards the end of the story, Yes I want more!! Yes I recommend that everyone read this story.

*** I received an arc in exchange for an honest review ****

Reading this book, I found it to be a very different read, I found it to be refreshing.
Dash and Jules relationship seem to be sweet and tender and they were the perfect couple.

The story flowed extremely well, and you could follow the story easily. There is a cliffhanger in this book and we have alot of unanswered questions that we have to wait for the next book to be answered.

Overall I found this to be a good read, and romance lovers will like this book.

I received this for an honest review.. I have to say that I fell in love with this story.... This has it all, Sexy rockers, hot sex, a story that I just couldn't put down, a girl with a horrific back story.. This story was told very well. The more I read of this story the more of it wanted. The only thing I didn't like was the cliff at the end but with any good story it leaves me wanting and needing more and I can not wait for the next book to come out... WELL DONE!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

I WANT MORE!

I absolutely adored this book. When Jules, meets Dash, the lead singer of Redemption, sparks fly immediately. Each of them have their own skeletons and are broken, each in their own way. Their love for each other compels them to help each other recover from their pasts and begin living in the present. Their story will have you riveted and when it ends, believe me, you will be clamoring for more!
