I had the great pleasure of reading this in it's original form back in my fandom days when it was titled, Holding Out For You. It was one of my most treasured fics, so it was to my absolute delight when I found out that Annalyse Knight finally decided to published this. I knew that I needed it for my must have collection!

Ready to Love Again, is a heart-warming and heartbreaking story about a women who went through a messy divorce and a widower trying to pick up the missing pieces after his wife death. It's a story about family, fate, lost and a chance at finding love again.

I've read my share of contemporary romance before, but I can't say I'm to familiar with any of them that deal with the couple and their children to this extent. I really loved that element in this book. It gave us a deeper understanding for how difficult is to move on from lost, whether it be from a divorce or losing a loved one and how it effects not only the couple at hand, but the kids who are blended within the relationship. While Shawn and Tony provide endless adorable entertainment, it's Chase's eleven year old daughter, Liz, who is having a hard time accepting Katie. Fiercely loyal to her mother's memory and scared that she'll lose her father next, Liz becomes an obstacle in Chase and Katie new-found relationship. My heart really goes out to all of these characters who had to face so much struggle and trauma to get to any kind of HEA.

Katie is an amazing character full of compassion, strength and kindness. She's such a great mom, who isn't afraid to go all mama-bear protective mode. To cute. I also love her job. I want her job. I thought it was pretty cool to get a glimpse of marine biology life even if was only for a brief while. At one point of the story I wasn't sure if she made the right choice concerning the relationship between her and Chase, but I'm still glad she was brave enough to do it.
I like my alpha boys, brooding, smoldering and complex but I still have to hand it to the good guys that melt my heart into goo. Chase O'Donnell is a good guy. A dedicated doctor, a good brother and a loving father who tries to put his children's needs before his own. Chase is an old fashion gentlemen with impeccable manners, he's firm but fair, warm and playful but can also be down right sexy and irresistible.
Together Chase and Katie have one of the sweetest most loveliest relationship. They have the kind of chemistry that makes you smile all big and stupid. No insta-love here. In the beginning it was all butterflies in your stomach, nervous glances, shy smiles, stolen kisses and holding hands and then later progressed to that all consuming swoon that I love. They make me remember how exciting and terrifying a new relationship feels like.

All in all, I really just adored this book. It's charming and romantic and it broke my heart into little pieces. It's a beautiful story of family togetherness and second-chance love that I will always treasure.

This book was a beautiful novel a divorcee and a widower, both discovering a second chance at love. Katie and Chase not only have to overcome their own past relationships but they are forced to deal with the struggles that their children are facing.

If you're looking for a beautiful love story with a bit of heartache, fun banter, and beautiful relationships this book is for you. Ready to Love Again is brilliantly written and has believable characters that make you fall in love with them from the very beginning. This is one book that isn't easy to put down.

Karie moves to California with her son to start a new life away. She's looking forward to start anew, but nowhere ready to the feelings the handsome father of her son's best friend arises in her. She's not looking for a relationship but her attraction to him, his kindness and his charms call to her every time. But she's been hurt before and she doesn't want to be there again--especially when she comes to realize that Chase is not quite over his broken heart.

Chase hasn't had it easy the last couple of years. A widowed father and a doctor, his life centers around his family these days. But what he failed to do in the months following his wife's death has catch up to him. No matter how intense his attraction to Katie is or how deeply he feels for her, he won't allow himself to feel the pain he shoved away three years ago.

I loved everything about this story.

I liked that the characters had some depth to them and grew as the story progressed. I enjoyed watching them get together, puzzle out their intense attraction and form a connection that ran deeper than the physical. Their interactions ranged from the candid to intense and through it out it all they never failed to keep me interested. Their banter, their flirtatious looks and their honest exchanges made for some great moments and I could not get enough.

Of course, they had chemistry. But it was watching how deeply their emotions ran that kept me cheering them on to get their problems sorted out. It helped that the author didn't pull any punches in bringing their emotions to the page in a way that felt real and believable. It was because of this that I was able to understand where each was coming from--even the kids.

That's another element I enjoyed about this story. Often times kids are introduced to the story but not dealt in a way that adds to the story. Thankfully, this was not the case here. The boys were adorable and brought about many funny moments, but they also rounded the story nicely. Especially Chase's daughter. Her role was intricate to the story and I liked the way the author went about in dealing with the issues that arose from her behavior.

Although this was quite an emotional story it was also funny, flirty and entertaining. I laughed, I cried and had a great time reading it.

All in all, a heart-warming romance with emotions abound, a bit of heat and lots of great moments.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

OMG this is a brilliant debut novel by the author. I literally could not put it down and read through the night until I had finished the book and the dawn chorus had started. I have already put this author on a must buy immediately for the next book list it was that good.

The story will sweep you with the character and their emotions, and there were times where I was sitting there with tears streaming down my face with my lower lip wobbling and everything, especially when Chase relives a very painful moment in his life.

There are a lot of issues covered in this book, recovery from the death of a loved one, divorce, love, dealing with kids, friendship and a whole lot more.

I did have some laugh out loud moments where I was sniggering at what was said between the characters and the two boys were delightful as best friends.

My two best LOL moments:

"Hi, What can I do to you?"
He heard a small gasp from the living room and immediately recognised his Freudian slip.
"Excuse me?" Katie asked, a laugh in her voice.
"I mean for you. What can I do for you?" Chase buried his face in his hands, mortified. Gina's tinkling laugh floated in from the other room, and he knew she was never going to let him live that one down.

Her eyes popped open at the sound of Tony clearing his throat, a beautiful blush rising to her checks. They both looked over to the doorway, where Tony and Shawn stood with their hands covering their mouths. Chase smiled wider at their reaction and pointed up the stairs. "Go get your sister - we need to go. I'm starving."
"I could tell by the way you were eating off my mom's face," Shawn said with a disgusted look before he flew up the stairs after Tony.

First off I want to say how much I enjoyed this book and connected with these characters. I myself went through a divorce, so I understand not only going through it but watching kids go through it as well. I also understand taking that chance on someone and opening your heart back up to love. So yes I connected very well to these characters.

Now with all that being said I want to talk about the writing, plot, characters and all that jazz. I have read this book twice as of today, I enjoyed it that much. Like I said above it really hit home for me and I can't wait to read more by Annalyse. The first time I picked up my Kindle to read this one I was hooked after the first page turn and read it straight through staying up all night long to finish it. I couldn't close my eyes without thinking about the story and the characters so I ended up turning back on the light and read more till there was no more to read.

ADRI'S REVIEW:

Thank you to TWCS for providing us with a copy so that we could bring you this review.

I have to say that this was such a sweet, heart wrenching at moments story. Though it deals with some very tough topics it was really a great way to show that even when things are rough we can still find love again. Even after Chase loses his wife and his life get turns inside out, he gives himself a chance to let go and find out what life can offer him. Its a rocky and bumpy road to get to that point in his life, but Katie's presence shows him that he doesn't need to feel bad or guilty for wanting something more in life. Yes things aren't easy because of not only his guilt but his daughters reaction to someone new coming into her fathers life, he learns that it can be accomplished. I loved that Katie is such a strong character and has the mind of a great mom always putting children before her own desires. She sees the need to let Chase and his family work things out and helps to push them in that direction.

I will say that I suggest having tissues handy because the emotions in this story are impossible to not feel them deep in your bones.

Happy Reading... Adri

Sarah's Review:
Thank you to TWCS, and Annalyse Knight for the opportunity to read and review this great story! I have been waiting for this story to be published for a while. While there will be people that will complain that this story is what is known as "pull to publish", I will not tolerate or accept any negativity in regards to this story. That being said, I have a strong bias for this story, so I made sure that I asked Adri to read this as well.

I love that Chase and Katie had to overcome their individual pasts in order to make their relationship work. While Katie's past was much different than Chase's, she understood and knew that Chase needed to get his family through their past. Grief is a horrible and individual thing that people need to process. I believe that Katie and Shawn were meant to come into Chase, Liz and Anthony's lives, if only to help them realize that they were not grieving healing from Terri's death. Granted, love can find you when you least expect it.

There are so many things that I love about this story, but I would give everything away. So make sure you have tissues and enjoy this book!

So Ready to Love Again is a real feel good heart warmer of a tale, it has a dashing widowed Doctor and his two kids, and it also has a divorced mum of one trying to escape her controlling husband.

Chase O'Donnell has lost the love of his life but after three years he tries to make the best of it with the help and love of his sister Gina they both make sure his two kids are happy, another woman in his life is not top of his priority list but that is until he meets Katie Rodriguez recently moved to the area and mother of Shawn, Chase's son Tony's new best friend.

Chase is instantly attracted to Katie but the death of his wife is still very raw with him and he feels like he is cheating on her but with some encouragement or should I say meddling from his sister he gets back on the dating ladder and asks Katie out.

Ready to Love Again continues with the pair becoming deeply involved with each other but they come across many hiccups on their road to happiness, Chase still continues to feel guilty about his wife, his daughter Liz feels he is forgetting all about her mum and refuses to even talk to Katie, plus Katie's meddling husband tries to get back in her good books.

Will Chase and Katie's fledgling relationship survive?

Well you need to read the book to find out! It will pull at all your emotions, it's funny, warm, tear-jerking and down right romantic, plus it is set in the gorgeous state of California and the description of the area Chase and Katie stay in is just beautiful, Ready to Love Again the sort of book you need to read cosied up with a blanket or better yet in bed (my own preference!), so what are you waiting for, get your copy now!

Ready to Love Again awarded 4 out of 5

Andrea’s Review:

A beautiful story of second chances at love Ready to Love Again pulled me in immediately. Through the impactful writing of Annalyse Knight, I found myself sighing with emotion, laughing at the silliness and enjoying the comfort of each character.

Katie Rodriguez is finally putting her happiness and that of her sons happiness first. Having left an unhappy marriage she is setting out for a new beginning on the coast of California along with her 9 year old son, Shawn. She has no way of knowing how this decision for happiness will not only affect herself and Shawn but so many others.

Three years after tragically losing his wife, Dr. Chase O’Donnell is working to establish a new normalcy in his life. Raising his two children with the help of his sister, Gina, he is simply going through the motions of his life, until a beautiful single mother and her son make their way not only into his family but their hearts.

I loved how Katie and Chase both struggled being single adults obviously attracted to one another while balancing the role of parent. The attraction of Katie and Chase is almost instantaneous but both refuse to put that before the needs and feelings of their children. Neither is perfect. Both have made mistakes in handling the loss of the family they each had, but together it seems they can overcome any obstacle.

With the addition of Chase’s spunky sister, Gina, and her fiance Daniel the story is not only of finding love again but of family, friendship and honesty. Each person in the story has their breaking point and they manage to pull one another through the darkness into their forever … together.

Ready to Love Again begins when Katie and her son Shawn move to California after she recently got a divorce. She knows things will be tough, but when Shawn makes a new friend at school, and wants to join the baseball team she meets his friend's dad, and things taken an even stranger turn.

Chase has been struggling the last three years with the death of his wife, and taking care of his two children. Now, when he finally notices Katie things start to spin out of control in his world.

These two have a long way to go to start a relationship especially when their children get in the way, and the past keeps coming up. But maybe it's time to work through it all to make a new start in life for each of them.

This book was really good! I enjoyed the whole plot line and all of the characters. This story was a very emotional read. It brought tears to my eyes several times, but all in all it was very good. I loved the way the author portrayed Chase and Katie's issues, and how she did the children as well. This story felt so real it was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.

I received a copy of Ready to Love Again by Annalyse Knight in exchange for an honest review.

Katie is a recent single mother of one, who has moved to another town to escape the ex-husband's control, Chase is a single father of two children who is still trying to move on from a tragic accident that devastated him and his children's world. Shawn,Katie's son and Tony, Chase's son meet and despite their opposite personalities form a tight friendship which brings their parents together in more ways than one, and Katie and Chase realize that maybe there is a second chance of happiness for them. Liz, Chase's daughter seems to think, however, that Katie is the worst thing that ever happened to them. This book is was very emotional and dealt with many life changing events, from divorce, grief, single parenthood, love and even guilt. Chase and Katie have to make a choice to help Liz deal with her grief before their own happiness and hope that their love would survive the test.

If you enjoy reading love stories written for adults, then Ready to Love Again is a must for you. Annalyse Knight has crafted a beautiful tale around lives that adults lead, challenges that must be faced, and a romance that is worth fighting for. This isn't your typical cutesy story about people fresh out of college falling in lust for the first time in their lives; rather, it's a serious, deeper one with all the situations that more mature couples have to deal with.

This is one of those books that touches more then one emotion. It shows you a struggle the family has to heal and move on. It shows you the sacrifice that one women makes to help. All in all it touches on every emotion possible and it's one of those books that touch the reader. Even if you haven't lost anyone, everyone has dealt with grief at one point in their lives. Take a chance and read this book, it's one of the best that I have read. My full review is here: http://allnightbooks.com/2014/08/07/r...

Ready to Love Again is a touching story about blending two families that have both experienced loss.

Both Chase and Katie had their marriages end in very painful ways. In Chase's case, until death do us part, is easier said than done. Katie, on the other hand, had to start over after a divorce.

I love how the story is as much about the children and Chase's sister as it is about Chase and Katie,
because their lives were affected as well.

We all make plans for our lives but sometimes God has an even better one for us.

This was a great modern love story. There is nothing more realistic today than falling in love and having to work in the children from other marriages. I found myself laughing, crying, and yelling at the situations that arise. I can't wait for the next book from this author.
