Yet with the help of this brothers—and for his brothers—Beckett won’t stop trying. He’s determined to make them all a family, to make a life they want to live, and to make Poughkeepsie a place that’s safe to live it.

He can feel their futures balanced precariously on his shoulders: Blake and Livia and their children, Cole and Kyle and the new baby they’ve just brought home, and Eve…always Eve. He wants their dreams to be real. But murderers don’t just get Happily Ever After handed to them. They have to wrench it away from Satan himself.

Good thing Beckett is prepared to do just that. After all, saving Poughkeepsie is the only way his story ends.

Poughkeepsie was one of my top reads of 2012 and one of those extremely memorable books. Blake counting smiles, my Beckett… It’s truly unforgettable. I love all these characters and Debra Anastasia is a kick ass writer. Saving Poughkeepsie was a little different than the first two for me in some ways, but I still loved reading about some of my favorite characters in their final book.

Blake and Livia

 photo 9762b71d-0769-4ca1-8bea-50c1f947e723_zps1be36dbb.jpg

Blake is one of those characters that I completely adore. There is something about this guy that puts the biggest smile on my face. Honestly I wish we would have gotten a little more of Blake and Livia in this story. But what we did read of them, I enjoyed. I love how much he’s grown throughout the stories. A totally different man from the guy we first met. Seeing him as a husband and father just warms my heart.

Cole and Kyle

 photo f5d71641-f15b-4783-a808-8df86af3ec2b_zps5533cf11.jpg

After all that Cole and Kyle went through during the last book, I was ecstatic that they finally got the happy they deserved. Cole is one of those characters that it took me a while to warm up to. The first book I didn’t know about him, but now I do. I love how he is with Kyle and some of the great ideas he implemented in this book. Kyle will always be my favorite female in this series. Her spunkiness and fowl mouth won me over from the start.

Beckett and Eve

 photo 7a497ec2-c44a-4e5e-b4a4-13f46afff5b9_zps4e7ffe46.jpg

And last but certainly not least, there is Beckett and Eve. Beckett. My thug with a heart of gold. He is my man. I could read book after book about him. I love the way he always tries to do whats best for his brothers and Eve. Everything Beckett does is for the right reason no matter how wrong it is. He and Eve have a very complicated relationship from the start. It’s not easy. No matter how wrong it is for them to be together, you can’t help who you love. And they are perfect for one another.

One of the main parts of the story line was a little strange for me and took me a while to get into that part of the story. That’s probably why this wasn’t a five star read for me. The writing and characters are fantastic. This author puts the perfect amount of humor, sass, sex and emotion into her writing. And I can’t recommend the first book Poughkeepsie enough. It will forever be one of my favorite books!

”Where there’s you, there’s always gonna be me. As long as I breathe...”

It was wonderful catching up the brothers of Poughkeepsie in this final book of the series. They have all come so far since I fell in love with them in book one. I was excited to see how things will play out for Beckett, Eve and Ryan Morales since everyone else in the story is settled amongst their heas. This book is written like the previous in the series where we get little bits of all the characters along with the action.

Old man Vitullo from book two has a plan and my friend’s it’s a doozy! He does have a living son but he wants to leave an heir to his empire that is genetically superior. Vitullo feels that Eve, our assassin, will make the perfect mother to his heir. To his dismay, he finds that she can’t have children due to a terrible car accident from her past but there are actually eggs saved by her father that even she doesn’t know about. So this plot pulls in a cutting edge Belgium doctor, creepy breeding program, kidnapping of a woman to carry the baby/babies, bombs placed in people and an Armageddon style ending.

description

I must ask how rich is Beckett? In this book he has more money and real estate properties than a top Forbes tycoon.

description

Beckett paves the road for his redemption and future of Poughkeepsie by helping Cole and Blake put together Brothers’ Legacy to help the unfortunate of their community. The big ending was like a final stand, a call to arms to save the city. I wanted for once Blake and Cole to stand and fight along Beckett’s side instead of hiding from the action. Beckett is all heart and loyalty to his town and his people and kicks ass to save them.

description

Overall, the story was very drawn out and for me a tad ridiculous in areas. Still, I loved all the characters and I’m happy in knowing that Mouse’s name lives on. My Blake and Liv are still happy, Cole and Kyle have a family of their own and Beckett and Eve finally left the pain of the past in the past and are moving forward together. Ryan Morales was wonderful once again in this book and I’m not so happy with his convenient matching up for hea sake. Fans of the series will be happy with Beckett and Eve’s ending and sleep peacefully knowing that Poughkeepsie is safe once again.

Saving Poughkeepsie was a solid conclusion to the Pougkeepsie Brotherhood series. Joining the brothers and the women who've stolen their hearts on one last ride. Will Beckett be able to save his town and keep his family safe?

"Never underestimate Taylor. He's driven by loyalty-a kind that makes him even scarier than you, my friend."

While Blake/Livia and Cole/Kyle make appearances, this was really Beckett and Eve's story. Is a HEA in the cards for the resident bad boy with a heart of gold? He is always fought for his family and has earned quite the reputation, but he is trying to change, to be an upstanding citizen and stay inside the law . And it's going to be one hell of a fight, with the streets of Poughkeepsie becoming more dangerous by the day, Beckett will fight tooth and nail to keep those he loves safe.

This was magic for Beckett, pure and simple. The world slowed down, and his cares melted away as he looked from face to face. He loved these men so fiercely, it’d probably scare them if they knew.

While I enjoyed this story, it did drag at times and one of the main story lines was a little OTT for me . Overall, Saving Poughkeepsie was a satisfying conclusion to an enjoyable series.

”Where there’s you, there’s always gonna be me. As long as I breathe..”

So here it is, the last book in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood (although now we are getting a prequel) and I'm left feeling a little bereft, sad and a touch disappointed.

This series is nothing like any other but it's sooo hard not to want it to be. First off, each brother does not get his own book and while we were spoiled with basically getting Blake's story with the first book, the last two have been a mixed mashed story of everyone else's. Who am I kidding?? Since Beckett rode in in his shiny, fast Challenger, there has been nothing but Beckett. And in his usual fashion, Beckett is large and in charge and I'm not complaining, not really.

Seriously though, Cole got cheated...plain and simple and while I liked Cole and Kyle's story, could it have honestly dominated a whole book? I'm just not sure.

And Blake, well, like I said we got Blake and Livia's story and while I definitely enjoyed getting to see how they are doing, they have been reduced to just having sex when they can and in some interesting locations as one can imagine with having small children.

So, that leads things back around to Beckett. He shined in the second book even though we had to go through his and Eve's separation but he owned this book and he owned it well. I was in awe....Becky-awe.

There's a moment in every book/series where a character just grabs you and that moment for me was when Beckett was waiting in line in the bank in the first book. Reading over the lady's shoulder while she was reading her book was so classic...and real. But he's a criminal, drug dealer and murderer...a definite anti-hero. We shouldn't like him but we do so yes, he owned this book...not just a little but in every way.

description

And Eve knew it...she didn't even fight him, not really and I don't blame her. He pulled out all the stops. He's making amends not just with her but with the town. He's got a plan and while there's some trouble, he sticks to his guns and he makes things happen.

So you probably want me to shut up about Beckett now and tell you about the rest of the story...okay, here goes...

Rodolfo's not amenable to what's happened and he hatches a plan regarding Eve. He has his monster, Nicholas, carry out said plan. And it's a doozy. There's a lot of torture and a lot of killing...and some if just awful and sooo sad, I actually had a hard time believing it. But then there's sweetness from Blake and Livia and more sweetness with Cole and Kyle getting what their hearts desire....and then Beckett (ha! I couldn't stay away for long), but let me tell you about Beckett!! This hard nose killer is the sweetest, most romantic thing e-v-e-r!! I kid you not...he made me swoon. Then there's a phone call from Ryan, yes that Ryan and we're back to the harsh reality. S-l-o-w-l-y information trickles in and finally after months, Beckett and Eve get some leads and everything goes to hell...seriously. It's a wild ride and it's hard to imagine how everything will work out but it does...in its own way.

There's also about a million different POVs but it's not distracting. And I just have to say that DA is a poet...the way she has with words sometimes was just so, well, poetic. I was actually going to post a few but there were too many. Needless to say, the words flow and wrap you up when they need to be and in the next moment, she has someone getting shot in the head!

So overall, I was happy with the way things worked out. If this was just Beckett's ongoing story, I probably would've have given it five stars. But the series is about the brothers and I felt a bit cheated. BTW, Blake still has my heart!

What a wonderful finale to such a heartwarming trilogy! I truly fell in love with the Poughkeepsie clan: Beckett, Cole, and Blake..of course, that includes their beautiful spouses too! The journey was an amazing one from start to finish. This wasn't just a romance book, in fact it wasn't even about one couple. It was about the three men, who had a majorly hard go of life when they were growing up in the same foster home. "Hard life" doesn't even begin to describe what they went through; but what amazed me through out this series was their extreme love and loyalty they all had for one another. Included in that, was the women they all fell in love with too. I love it when a book includes such a strong sense of family, and this one has it in tenfolds. Beckett amused me the most, as he was the one who was walking such a bad road, and most were terrified of him. The things was that underneath his tough exterior, was a man who lived and breathed for his bro's. Every action he did was in hopes to make their lives better, and to make sure they were protected. For that reason, he was my favorite! He also had some wicked insults, and between him and Ryan the cop; I was highly amused!!!

In this installment, we get such a treat...the story consists of love, family, sex, drams (always drama!)and some major action! This is an explosive finale-literally! There is just so much going on that there was never a dull moment. Some of the story, some might think is a bit far fetched; but I for one, loved every word! I really did. This is a series I won't ever forget..and it was really cool how even in the third book Blake still counted his loves smiles! (You will know what that means if you have read the first book!)

All in all, this is a must read series. It is about the three men who grew up very lost; but somewhere along the way they find love, family and just an awesome life! They truly conquered the odds that were against them, and found a HEA..Poughkeepsie will live in my heart forever. This is one of my all time favorite series!

Thank you to Steph and Shanna for the Buddy Read! It was awesome to Buddy read this series with you both!♥

Poughkeepsie has been a book full of emotions. Raw emotions. My first trip to the Poughkeepsie World was in December 2013 and I am so glad I found this masterpiece. Now here I am making sure that all of you get to experience this trilogy.

Saving Poughkeepsie is the last book of the trilogy and it was hard to read. My emotions were all over the place. I was sad and happy at the same time! I assure that this story, these characters will stay with you forever!

Saving Poughkeepsie was action-packed, unexpected and romantic. If you are a fan of the Brotherhood YOU MUST buy it. If you are not a fan, What are you waiting for? Buy the trilogy. Meet these brothers : Blake, Cole and Beckett! They will steal your heart!

The last installment in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood series, Saving Poughkeepsie, was a bittersweet read for me. I’ve been a fan of this series and it’s cast of off the wall characters since I was first introduced to Blake and his endless tally of Livia’s smiles. My affair with this tale started on a train platform and after a long, drama filled journey, it ended with the love and devotion of three men – brothers not of blood, but of heart, soul and circumstance.

Blake and Livia are the most adorable couple. Livia, always the loving wife and mother, grew stronger and sweeter. Blake, forever the gentle poetic soul, evolved into a more fierce and protective man. I must confess out of all the brothers, he is my favorite. The way he loves his family, the tenderness within his soul and the way proclaims his love for Livia is magical. I will always hold his character near and dear to my heart.

Cole and Kyle – their journey was not an easy one and I connected with their pain and longing for a family. Cole’s character shines through in this last episode. I adored the way he remains forever faithful and optimistic, despite the mountainous challenges life presents, by gleaming with hope. Where as Blake stole my heart, Cole touched my soul. And Kyle, her witty personality adds levity into the dark storyline with her sarcasm. Here, she matures into a woman who embraces her family.

The man with the plan…the one and only, Beckett. “Becky” is as crazy as ever, perhaps even more so. He is incredibly tenacious in his role as protector of his brothers, family and Eve. There is much to admire when it comes to Beckett, regardless of the fact that he is a criminal and vigilante. He and Eve are quite the pair. Their passionate relationship, explosive and consuming, made for some pretty hot and heavy love scenes.

Beckett’s character underwent a tremendous transformation within this series. From an out of control punk, to a man who takes control in steering his family on a better path, he is almost gallant in his efforts. Almost being the operative word, since his ways are felonious. I admired his loyalty, his big-hearted nature and the sheer lunacy he brings into the storyline.

Eve is the perfect match for all that is Beckett and one hell of a tough broad. I like a woman who is fearless and has big balls. She’s no wishy-washy annoying chick. Eve, like all the main characters, is a survivor. She had many tragedies to overcome and worked her way through them spectacularly.

There are some dynamic secondary characters I fell for as well, like Ryan and Dr. Hartt. Ryan’s banter with Beckett was hysterical as well as his ongoing hijinks with crazy Trish. Dr. Hartt caused my heart shatter into a thousand pieces and brought me to tears. There were some I bitterly despised - Rodolfo and Nicholas – two venomous bastards that I wanted to gut. They both added high levels of angst and majorly pissed me off.

Debra Anastasia has a unique writing style that incorporates elements of dark humor, drama, desire and emotion. The snarky characters she created grew on me. Her tales run high on angst, and the plot never ceases to twist. I must admit there was one particular intense moment that I could not move past. My heart severely ached and was broken, leaving me with a feeling of gloom for the remainder of this read. It is a testament to Anastasia’s talents that her words affected me so emotionally. All in all, The Poughkeepsie Brotherhood was a great series and an amazing experience for me.

Saving Poughkeepsie wraps up the story of the brothers and the whole gang in the Poughkeepsie series.

Poughkeepsie was truly a book that changed my life. Debra Anastasia became one of my favorite authors and she does it again with Saving Poughkeepsie. This is not a typical love story. It’s gritty, hilariously funny, violent, and yes, beautiful. All the brothers are here in all their glory.

All of the characters are very real and very flawed and you can’t help but fall in love with them, even Beckett, the brute of a man who finally finds a woman who can tame him. I loved seeing Blake and Livia, Cole and Kyle, and all of their loving and living and trials and tribulations. These characters stay with you long after you read these books and I truly will miss this wild and gorgeous group.

The story took a minor detour about mid-way through which was surprising but did not detract from the book for me. Once again, the author has written a fast-paced tale which not only has elements of a crime thriller, it also is a romantic story filled with lots of heart and plenty of love. The dialogue is snappy, the banter between the characters is priceless, and the scenes are very, very real.

I am not quite ready to say goodbye to the brothers or the rest of the characters and I actually re-read most of the first two books while reading Saving Poughkeepsie. Please read this series. The books will absolutely enrich your life.

There are stories that stay with you long after you’ve finished reading them. You know the one’s I’m talking about; they’re the stories you stay up reading until your eyes are too heavy to stay open and your kindle smashes you in the face. It’s the story where the characters feel so real, you find yourself thinking about them, worrying even, when you finish a chapter that doesn’t bring closure. Debra Anastasia weaves that exact brand of tale, and the finale of the Poughkeepsie series is no exception.

It is with bittersweet pleasure that I turned the last page in Saving Poughkeepsie, the third and final book in the series, because it marks an ending, but an incredibly beautiful one. Debra manages to bring the story full circle in a satisfying way that stays true to the characters she’s created. Saving Poughkeepsie runs the emotional gamut; you’ll laugh, you’ll cry (I sobbed audibly more than once—the hubs was concerned until he realized I was crying over fictional characters), you’ll rage and you’ll rejoice. This story is a rollercoaster I didn’t want to get off of.

One second Debra has me fanning myself with her sexy, gorgeous prose:

“And then there was only feeling. He had to remind himself to reach around her to find where she kept her orgasms hidden, teasing one from her with his fingers.”

Yes please, you go right ahead and tease those orgasms out for as long as you’d like . . . The next she’s making me laugh until I’m in tears:

“If his hard-on had been running the show, she’d be the pinwheel petals and his dick would be the peg spinning her around.”

This visual image for this is absolute, perfect ridiculousness. Consuming liquid while reading this story is a risk you may not want to take. Of course, a paragraph later I’ll be reaching for the tissues and succumbing to shivers over the beauty of the emotions conveyed in the prose:

“And this baby, I don’t want to put what I’m feeling on him. He deserves a clean slate. He deserves to be the center of someone’s universe. Your universe. You won’t be looking for someone else in what he does, the choices he makes. You will only see John. That’s what I believe is best for him.”

It’s impossible for me not to fall more and more in love with Debra’s writing with each new story she crafts. I’ve followed the story and the lives of Blake, Cole and Beckett from the beginning.

Of all the characters in the Poughkeepsie series, I have a particular soft spot for Beckett and Eve. He’s badass, and a criminal, but under all those hard edges, formed by a life inside the foster system, there is a loyal man who strives to be a better person for the ones he loves. His ultimate goal is to keep the people he cares for safe, and to protect them from harm. For this, Beckett is willing to forfeit his own happiness.

More than anything, I wanted to will Eve and Beckett into some kind of peaceful existence, particularly when their beginnings and the events that have brought them together are filled with so much violence. (You’ll have to read Poughkeepsie first to appreciate the battle they’ve fought to be together). In true Debra Anastasia fashion, they get the ending they deserve. But it doesn’t come easy, and it isn’t without crazy potholes, or the twists and turns I’ve come to expect and relish with this series.

Beyond the key players, Debra brings to life villains you’ll love to hate, good guys you’ll want to root for almost as much as Beckett, Blake and Cole, and strong female characters who kick ass—both literally and figuratively.
This is such a beautiful series. Debra weaves a tale that takes us to the highest highs, down to the lowest lows. Saving Poughkeepsie is far more than a love story. It isn’t a tidy romance, which is what makes it such a phenomenal read. It’s a story of survival, loyalty, family, faith, acceptance and redemption. We celebrate these character’s victories and mourn their losses.

5 Amazing Stars!!!!!

This is the last Poughkeepsie book. I am so bummed. But it was perfect.

In the book was see a whole different side of Beckett. He is still Mr. Badass Poughkeepsie, but has a much softer side than before. He is still an awesome brother to Blake and Cole. But he turns into an amazing man with Eve. He still domineers a room but more in the sense of cleaning up Poughkeepsie. He just amazes the hell out of everybody. Still at times its like, this is flying right over your head... but other times, I'm fan-gurling "OMG.... HE THINKS OF EVERYTHING AT THE RIGHT TIME"

Eve, very similar to the transition of Beckett, has a newside as well. She still is the badest bitch around. But in the book, you see her break. Completely. At the beginning, her relationship with Ryan, made me skeptical, but it was squashed. She loves Beckett. When she lands on the hospital, everything goes down hill for her.

Beckett and Eve's relationship hit a very serious turning point. Beckett knowing Ryan was so into Eve, he trusted Eve to be around Ryan when he was not around. They did things for each other that were small, but meant so much. They were so in sync. They knew what each other needed and when.

Cole, finally found his calling in life. With the new baby JB, Kyle and Cole stayed busy. In happiness, they were over the moon. Blake and Livia, of course, still the most romantic out of the 3 couples were just topping on the brotherhood cake.

Then, Poughkeepsie is under fire. Literally. Bombs are going off. Beckett nearly lost his dog in his house when the enemy lit it up. Then, had to go tk the hospital himself. Eve was in Maryland. Blake, Cole, Livia, Kyle and the 3 kids had to hide in a nearly abandoned hotel.
And John being a thorn in Beckett's ass, everything turns to shit.

I just have to say with the 3 newcomers, this book was afuckinmazing! Debra blew me away!

3.75-4 "Saving Beckett" stars!

Poughkeepsie Series How will it end

Saving Poughkeepsie was like homecoming but with a bittersweet ending. While you do get to check in on Blake and Livia as well as Kyle and Cole, it was nice to see Beckett finally succumb to his own circumstances of whether his fate is meant to be/or not to be HEA with Eve.

You see Beckett really grow and develop throughout this and see him mature. He is still a badass, but he also knows the consequences of his actions and will fight till he makes everything right with his family, with his woman, and with himself.

While his quest is not an easy one, there are of course, those who oppose his road to salvation and redemption and will do anything to make his dream a long and insufferable one.

Get ready ladies and gents (of there are any fellas reading this!) for the final installment as we adieu our lovely cast of characters farewell and journey with Beckett as he learns to be a better man and person for himself and those he loves!!

#Beckett/Eve, Blake/Livie, and Cole/Kyle you all will be so dearly missed! Such a lovely tale of love, family, sacrifice, and the harsh realities set forth in life!! Great job, Ms. Anastasia!

5 mind blowing stars

I could not wait to get my hands on this book.

This being one of my favorite series I am completely fan girling, over Eve.

She has got to be the most bad a$$ chick in any book.
She is a killer
A lover
A friend
A daughter

But she puts up this wall as if she doesn't have feelings.
Well guess what?
She does
And she finally reaches her breaking point.
And I wanted nothing more than for her to have an HEA.
Whether or not she does is something you need to discover on your own.

The Taylor Brothers live up to the expectations I was hoping for and more.
I was sucked into this book and craved the next page like a druggy.
Every character is so unique and I love the names of them and there reasonings for making an appearance.
Get ready to be shocked at points and at times thinking NO WAY! That's not even possible!
But it is.
Anything is possible.

Fantastic Job!!

To win a Poughkeepsie eBook set (book one, two and three), head over to Reading is my Breathing!

------------------

I feel really sad having to write this review, because I adore the brothers, their wives and kids, and their world. I love Debra and her writing style. I have Poughkeepsie on my favorites list, because there’s just so much to love about it. And the app Debra put together? Simply amazing and a fangirl’s dream come true.

So what happened here? I think it’s every fan’s fear that the next book in the series won’t be able to top the previous book, and that’s what happened here. I know it’s hard to keep the momentum going, especially with a story like this. I had high hopes for the conclusion of Poughkeepsie, but this, for me, is a typical case of less is more. Sometimes, not all loose ends need to be tied. Sometimes it’s okay to leave a character sad or unhappy. The thing is that at one point you just run out of drama. And what Debra did was create a conflict in the story that was so far-fetched, that I really couldn’t get down with it. Saving Poughkeepsie started to resemble one of those Telemundo soap operas. Things got to become a bit cliché, far-fetched and unrealistic. Again, I feel horrible for having to write this, but writing a review requires honesty. I am sure many people will disagree with me and will adore this third book in the series. It just didn’t work for me personally.

I still enjoyed reading the book, though, because like I said; I love the brotherhood that Debra created and the world they’re in. The multiple pov was done really well and I loved the writing style. Book three continues where book two left off and basically ties all the loose ends. Beckett always valued family more than anything and he dedicates his life and work to making their union possible. He wants to be with his brothers and he wants their brothers to be in Poughkeepsie. In order to make that happen, he needs to turn Poughkeepsie into a safe place for everyone and he needs to go legit all the way. Obviously there are obstacles and big forces working against him. It’s an action-packed and fast-paced story. There are lots of sweet moments between Livia & Blake, Kyle & Cole, and even Eve & Beckett.

The first book in the series will always have a special place in my heart, because it demonstrates the sheer power of love and kindness so well. I would’ve been okay if that’s where the story ended, even though I loved the sequel and gave it five shining stars.

This is epic conclusion of the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood series.

What a ride it has been.

While all the brothers and their spouses make an appearance, this is, in principle, Beckett and Eve’s story.

He has earned quite a reputation even if everything he has ever done was to fight for his family. Now Beckett is really trying to abide by the law and be an outstanding citizen. Trying being the key word.

Eve is a survivor. She’s overcome many tragedies and grew up to be a strong, determined woman who won’t allow anything and anyone to put her down.

Her relationship with Beckett it’s explosive. In a good way. You’ll be in for some hot and steamy love scenes here but, if you have read the previous installments, you probably know already what to expect. Then again, maybe not.

There are so many twists and turns in the plot and the whole story is packed with dark humor, action, emotions, drama, angst and, with every turn of the page you’ll find it more and more interesting. It will draw you in from the very first page.

The bonds between the brothers are incredibly strong even if their journey in life has been filled with nothing but pain and loss at times but there’s still love, trust and devotion.

Now it’s the time for them to take one last stand and make Poughkeepsie safe again.

I don’t want to give you spoilers and ruin the book so you’ll just have to read and find out more.

About Debra I can tell you that she has an unique writing style and knows how to capture a reader’s attention and hold it until the end. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

Poughkeepsie has become one of my favorite series and I highly recommend it. It’s worth it.

4.5 stars

Happy Reading!

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

I have waited so long for this book. I needed Beckett. When it first appeared on my kindle I was a teenage girl getting her boob touched for the first time, I was nervous for it to happen but it's all could think about.

I had to know how it ended how the brothers saved Poughkeepsie? Did Beckett get his happy ending he deserved?

I have never read a book slower than I did this one, not because I was having trouble getting through it but just the opposite I didn't want it to end. I was so invested I was savoring every page, every word, every comma. I didn't want to get to that last page.

A long time ago someone recommended Poughkeepsie to me and I thought sure why not I trusted this woman's book sense. When I first started reading I thought this woman is nuts, it wasn't keeping my attention at all. I messaged her and told her this she informed me to just keep going. I am so thankful I did. I absolutely loved this series. Ms. Anastasia's writing is sweet, emotional, humorous (I love some of the sayings, they are amazing!) the suspense factor is high, (which I love) and above all it has Beckett. I couldn't ask for more. I am so glad I got to spend some time in Poughkeepsie.

Great series and since it had end, it ended the only way it could, beautifully.

4.5 Becky Stars!

Spectacular ending to an all consuming series that will always stick with me!

"I want to tell the world and our expectations to fuck off. I want to marry you, Eve. Let the world burn around us"

Saving Poughkeepsie, the final book! The Brothers' Legacy. It took me a week to read this book. I had to first come to terms with the fact that this is the last book, and second I had to read the words, savor them, let them soak in, and finally let them go. Beckett from the start of the series has been the bad guy that you can't help but love, the killer with a heart. Can he ever redeem himself in the eyes of the law and keep his brothers, Eve, and their families safe in Poughkeepsie?

It's Beckett, you know he's a force to be reckoned with, with Eve by his side they can burn it down. There's was so much to take in, I never had a chance to absorb the twists and turns before I was hit with another that would knock me off my axis. By the end I had tears rolling down my face and a love I can't describe for each and every character. Brilliance is Debra Anastasia!

Bravo, Debra!!!

After savoring every word like it was my last meal, Saving Poughkeepsie ends the remarkable trilogy and I'm COMPLETELY sated! What a BEAUTIFUL journey that was! One I'll never forget!

How Debra can go from writing some of the most inspirational and heartfelt words I've ever read to the most evil and malicious in one book is beyond me. What a FANTASTIC thrill ride from beginning to end. SAVING POUGHKEEPSIE wraps up the saga not leaving one stone left unturned. This F'er goes out with a bang! Such a fulfilling and thoroughly developed plot and characters. Intense, emotional, shocking, and so so sweet! My poor heart was put through the ringer. As much as I hate that it's over, there isn't one thing I would have wanted differently. (Well..maybe a scene where I was written into a threesome with Beckett and Eve....). It's just PERFECT! Debra closes the gap between the books flawlessly. Never once did I catch myself saying, "Now who was he again?..."
Thank you, Debra for sharing your gift! THANK YOU for sharing the story of the brotherhood!

Okay now it's hitting me that it IS in fact the end and I want to go drown my sorrows in some tequila. WAHHHHH.....

I am so sad that this series has come to an end, it's been a real adventure...
There were parts of this book that were amazing. It was action-packed at times and so funny, emotional and beautiful.
But then there were a few things that just bothered me, like the length of the book; my god, we could have done without about 100 pages of it. It was sooooo long and sooo drawn out at times, I got really bored. Some things in there were just pointless and bought nothing to the story. It was frustrating!
Also, I can't really tell if the storyline about Eve was genius or completely damn ridiculous! Go figure...

I adored seeing Eve and Beckett get their hea and it was great to catch up with the rest of the family too.

My journey with the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood began several years back. A bunch of my friends were reading a story about a homeless man who counted the smiles of a young woman who travelled through Poughkeepsie train station every day. To be honest, I thought this wasn’t for me. The leading men were the above emotionally damaged homeless man, a man training to be a priest and a potty-mouthed gangster. Not the sort of fictional guys I would fall for.

Jump forward a bit in time and I got to know the author. The more I got to know her, the more I heard her talking about these guys and they didn’t sound bad at all. In fact, I was intrigued. As it turned out, I was right to be intrigued and when I finally started reading the first book in the series, Poughkeepsie, I literally could not put it down.

This is a series like none you’ve ever read before. The plot twists and turns in unexpected, sometimes frightening ways. The romance veers from tender and heart-warming to sexual wrestling that leaves the characters beaten and bruised, but in all cases, always entirely satisfied. It’s real strength lies in the character interaction and development. Blake, Cole, and Beckett are the brothers at the centre of this series, brothers in every way but blood. As kids they met in the foster care system. Each with their own baggage, they found in each other what they couldn’t find anywhere else – a family.

Beckett aged out first and took it upon himself to become protector. He became the streetwise badass so his brothers would never have to. There are limits even to what a badass can do. There are some things people have to figure out for themselves. For Cole, it’s how he can best serve God, and for Blake, it’s the heart wrenching delusion that traps him in the shadows.

Debra Anastasia knows how to write. She know how to make you feel you’re a part of the story and every little thing that happens is vitally important. She’s the sort of writer that I aspire to be one day. It takes guts to risk showing the dark side of characters to the extent she does, to make the reader believe to their bones that a murderer deserves a happy ending and believe he will never reach it. Her writing is brave and visceral. It’s been said that to write, all someone must do is open a vein and bleed onto the page. No where is this more apparent than in these books. The raw emotions and gritty reality is soaked into every sentence. As a reader, I quickly became invested.

Each book in this series is better than the last and Saving Poughkeepsie is a powerhouse of a finale that doesn’t let up until the very last word. All Beckett wants to do is protect his family and his town. He and his brothers want to bring light and hope into impossible situations, hope they found so difficult to grasp when they were young. Of course with a psycho crime boss and his vile, monstrous lackey in town intent on ruining Beckett and claiming a future he and his love, Eve, didn’t even know they could wish for, Saving Poughkeepsie won’t be easy. Beckett will have to inspire the people who can’t stand each other to stand up and fight together.

The brothers and everyone around them have more to lose than ever before, but more to gain if they are prepared to reach for it.

Saving Poughkeepsie is a family/crime romantic drama of epic proportions that will fling you between elation and devastation and back again. It just begs to be translated to the big screen.

The buzz around this series was not exaggerated, not one bit. What begins in "Poughkeepsie (Poughkeepsie Brotherhood, #1)", a story of a young women falling for a homeless man quickly turned into something I never would have expected. The Poughkeepsie series is hands down one of the most action packed and cleverly plotted stories I’ve read all year, with grit and ruination that you can't help but to love. In "Returning to Poughkeepsie (Poughkeepsie Brotherhood, #2)" we quickly learned that the bad guys could always be worse, and they were delivered to us this way in "Saving Poughkeepsie". I held off and reading the series until this one was released and Im so glad I did. What amazed me most was how I truly could not step away from it and the characters. It became a marathon read which left me sleep deprived. If you haven’t read the series, what are you waiting for? If you have, get ready for an emotional and gritty read.

With "Saving Poughkeepsie", we have an amazing and entertaining story with characters so well developed in all their goodness and evilness. The brothers (Blake, Cole, Beckett) still have each others backs, as do the sisters (Livia and Kyle), but in this installment, my favorite couple Eve and Beckett are front and center and damn if they are not the targets of one evil bastard, Rodolfo Vitullo.

"Saving Poughkeepsie" is all about Eve and Beckett coming to terms with each other, a very broken love affair and one that is wrought out of vengeance. We know they will never have the quiet life they wish for, but in trying they will find their sort of norm. Ryan Morales is back to taunt Beckett and definitely keeps him on his toes with Eve. Ryan continues to battle the ex from hell whose action make for the most humorous moments of the story. And Eve, how I adore Eve!! She is one of the most badass female characters I’ve ever read. She’s vindictive and broken and in love with the one man who blew her world apart. She does experience grave loss and goes through grief as one would expect of Eve, her mind on vengeance. She faces down the “devil incarnate”(i.e. Rodolfo) which such bravery and panache that she’s become own little super-hero.

Beckett goes through a gentle transformation - At one point, Beckett muses “It was his hope, and maybe a stupid one, that the kindness he’d enforced lately was more important. more powerful that the violence he’d used in the past.” But he remains as hard and resourceful as needed, perhaps more so now that he’s settled back in his home town. He never waivers in his love for his family and something in him opens up to accept what would seem like the one thing he could never abide with ----> but that is all about his love for Eve and it runs deep.

This story has one of the most sweet and beautiful endings. Debra Anastasia created an imaginative and fascinating story with more turns, twists and destruction that strangely made sense. I have so many highlights in this book, all pointing to the much needed wit and humor that would accompany a subtle dark twisted story.

5++ #SargentSarcasm stars and my highest of recommendations for the entire series!

3.5 "Beckett Taylor is the effing Robin Hood of Poughkeepsie, NY" stars

So Its been year 2012 since I read the first book and I became invested to the series. Again it has emotional moments hear and there and the brothers and their family are stronger and tight. This is Beckett's happy ending as it was taken to a halt much too long and should have ended in book 2, if only the plot have not drag to many loops and yet it stil anticlimactic again book 3 was like that too even though there was a lot of casualties involved just for that -_- it was a stupid evil plan of the villain though I admit it was batshit crazy plan, it was dragging and I was unsatisfied. I like that Blake and Livia; Cole and kyle have their moments and also with their kids. I like Cole now than in book one, every moment with him together with Kyle or their child or his foster care guardian was emotional.

Like I said this is Beckett's story along with Eve, they're starting to build up a second life and getting rid of their bloody past but it was not easy, as enemies were still looming in their surroundings. Considering that Eve and Beckett are not softy people, its not uch fluffy when it comes to their relationship, its rough and its a double edge sword when it came to sex and dealing things. I think I want more of their alone time together, a little bit of fluffy corny sweet kind of thing but I know its not the characters thing coz' they're trained killers and murderers. So yeah, rough sex except for one scene though. And then there's Ryan, good thing my mind put his character on the pedestal and considered him harmless when it comes to Eve's relationship with him. Its cute though, it makes Beckett go crazy hehe.

Oh yeah there is a prequel to the series, hope Mouse will be featured there, he's my favorite wingman;)
