Over the past year of being Jayden Masterson’s collared submissive, Catherine O’Chancey has worked through the mental terrors left behind by her old Dom — or at least she thinks she has. To celebrate their collaring anniversary, Jayden organizes a special day, during which her final fantasies will be realized and her limits tested. Will it prove to be more than she can handle? Can she endure the erotic onslaught her mind and body will experience and survive unscathed?

While Catherine faces these dark shadows and pleasurable highs, Jayden will find his own inner strength being tested, too. He has come to realize that, somewhere along the way, Catherine has taken possession of his heart, mind, and body. Now, he faces his biggest challenge ever; he must let go of all his submissives but one: his jewel, Catherine. Can he leave his philandering ways behind? Has he made the ultimate mistake by putting his jewel into the hands of others? Will his gift to Catherine wind up costing him the one thing that has ever meant something real to him?
Jayden has helped Catherine heal from past wrongs and chase away the nightmares. In return, Catherine has shown him what it means to care for someone beyond mere sexual gratification. Their strengthening bond as Master and submissive has paved the way for deeper emotions — if they can find the courage to open up to each other.

Join Catherine and Jayden for an emotion packed weekend that could forever change the future of their relationship. This could be their best chance at love, but first both Dom and sub must gain control over the one thing they can’t put in a collar: their deepest doubts and fears. For this kind of healing, the necessary treatment must be mutually given. Is it too late to erase some old scars?

The first book “To Serve is Divine” took us on a journey from when they first meet and here in book two we are right back with Jayden & Catherine as they celebrate their 1 year collaring anniversary.

This is a true reflection of a BDSM relationship as opposed to the Dom meets virginal girl and scares the living bejeebus out of her.

Catherine has had previous BDSM relationships although they have not necessarily been healthy and she has the mental & physical scars from her past to prove it, but she is actively looking for a way back to the lifestyle she enjoys, and when she meets Jayden she has found the ultimate protector.

He is a Dom who truly cherishes what he has with her and is in tune with her needs while continuing to help her get past her weaknesses and they have worked together over the last year to build a relationship that serves them both.

So now as an anniversary gift Jayden is to give Catherine an experience she will never forget by allowing her to play with others. What Jayden did not envisage is the jealousy he would feel, jealousy he has never felt about any of his other Subs before. Is it time for him to devote himself completely to Catherine? Can he give up his other Subs and just take one? Will Catherine be able to overcome her fears of her past that still lie just below the surface?

This book took us on a refreshing journey with a Dom and his Submissives, like no other book I have read. Jayden may be a Dom but he does not come across as an arrogant uncaring pig we are sometimes lead to believe Dom’s are, and although I find it difficult to read books about non-monogamous relationships RE Hargraves wrote this so well that I felt I understood everyone’s place. And Jayden took care of each of their individual needs as well as his own.

RE Hargraves writes an erotic (yep it was eye openingly so) yet heart-warming love story and I too fell a little in love with Jayden in this book and you’ll understand why when you read it, so I am looking forward to the next stage in Jayden & Catherine’s journey in Book 3.

HOT HOT HOT!!!

R.E. Hargrave does it again!

This has got to be the BEST BDSM love story I have ever read. (Including 50 Shades) This story picks up right around Jayden and Catherine's one year anniversary, and Jayden is looking to do something special for Catherine. Hot, steamy scenes & a wonderful storyline make for the best installment to date.

Read along as they take their relationship to the next level, and push every boundary that Catherine (and Jayden) have ever had.

The perfect mix of sex, romance & just good old fashioned love story make this book a MUST READ. I could not put it down and am eagerly awaiting the next in the series.

Bravo, R.E. Hargrave, for creating a world where limits are everything, but made to be shattered.

With Jayden's decision made at the end of 'To Serve is Divine', we see his plan put into action to make Catherine his one and only sub and his lifetime collared sub. He recognises that Catherine makes him feel things that he has never felt before and has broken his own rule in developing intense feelings for her. The journey that he sets Catherine on is designed to push her limits and experience scenes with other trusted Doms before beginning a life of monogamy together.
While Jayden is very clear on the outcome of this one special anniversary day, the purpose of the day is still unclear to Catherine. She is filled with self-doubt, jealousy and acceptance that she may be passed on to another Master. She feels that being passed on is punishment for developing feelings for Master Jayden. Despite this, she fully partakes in every challenge that Jayden sets her and finds herself surprised at the thought and time he has put into planning each scene.
The range of emotions that Catherine goes through in the space of a day would be too much for most people but Catherine feeds off these to heighten her enjoyment of the experience...particularly if it could be the last with Master Jayden. Catherine is still dealing with a lot of issues that are left over from her last Dom, who used his Dom status to be abusive. She is healing under the guidance and care of Jayden
Even though Jayden has planned the day down to the nth degree and used trusted friends to help him deliver the scenes, when it come to watching his beautiful Catherine from afar he also runs the gauntlet of emotions. Can she truly be satisfied with just him? Is she ready to move forward despite her previous experiences? Jealousy, self-doubt, pride, love, and amazement follow him through the day.
Will Catherine decide to stay with her Master Jayden or will the experiences leave her wanting more with other people? The strength of Catherine's character is apparent throughout this book, even at times of self-doubt, as she chooses to immerse herself in the situations that Jayden has chosen for her.
This is such a hot, hot story with lots of spice and naughtiness. It is written in such a way that you become immersed in the experiences of the characters and the story. You run the gauntlet of emotions with both Jayden and Catherine and find yourself wanting their day to be as perfect as Jayden planned it to be.
With an ending that is sweet, beautiful and perfect, it is going to be interesting to see where the final part takes this story and I can't wait. A world of Dom/Sub relationships that is sensitively explored and beautifully written while not shirking the dark side of this world. The relationship between Catherine and Jayden is an example of how a Dom/Sub relationship should be: mutually beneficial and built on trust.

Ms. Hargarve has outdone herself again!
I will admit to the fact that I yelled and screamed and though "What is he thinking" more than once while reading about the erotic spa treatments Master Jayden has in store for his very confused sub. Catherine has been through so much and with her feelings being so exposed and fragile, how would she react to his play dates?

The author pulled no punches in her delivery and amazed me at how she pulled a straight up no sharing newbie like me into her tale and made me see that through this experience they both discovered what was in front of their eyes. That the love they shared was pure and strong. Honest and with so much trust that it made me long for a master of my own.My concern through this entire book was for Cat as I felt her confusion, angst and worry over being let go because of the one rule she broke. Falling in love with a man that refused to be tamed...or so she thought and while her dilemmas kept me on the verge of tears at one point...It was Jayden that stole the show.

He is a man that has never been in love, that refused the emotions and all that came with it, but found himself so inexplicably drawn to this beautiful submissive that he had no choice but to give out his heart and soul to the one woman who holds power over him. It was beautiful to see his pain, angst, and fall into the crazy world of commitment and I truly cannot wait for the last book to see the kinky fairy tale play out.

This second book in the Divine Life Trilogy enchanted me from the very first page. A fan of the first book, I was eager to read this one. Jayden is a man who knows what he wants, and he will take it at any cost. When he found Catherine, he knew she was special. Getting to know her in the first book, he soon learned about the scars that made her unlovable in her own eyes. She was ill used by her previous Master and had a lot of ground to cover to get past it. Eager to please her new Master, Catherine absorbs the new life thrust before her as a submissive. I finished the book chomping at the bit for book two and it did not disappoint.
The second book opens with some hot sex gone BDSM wild. It is absolutely toe curling, so of course I had to keep reading. *grin* Anal play, floggings and more…After this luscious scene the plot develops into a spa treatment day where Catherine is told to do whatever is asked of her to please her Master. As she goes through the varying experiences (enemas, f/f and then some), she is tested significantly on her limitations and just how far she is willing to go for her Master. Will he keep her or cast her aside? Those questions run through her mind as others taste her charms and she wonders how he can want her to do this. It tests her mentally and physically and may just go beyond what she is ready for.
Jayden himself experiences some trepidation regarding his developing feelings for his new sub. She is unlike anyone else and he finds himself unhappy unless he is with her. Touching others does nothing for him and he begins to think about relinquishing his other submissives. It is a choice that rips him up inside, but it must be done. He can have it no other way. He really cares for these people deeply but no one is more important to him than Catherine. I loved that about Jayden.
The emotional interplay with the characters and the attention to detail that Ms. Hargrave gives each and every scene make these books some of my favorites. During the enema scene, you could feel the discomfort and embarrassment she was experiencing because of the spot on description and interaction with the other characters. It is the same throughout the whole book. Whether it is a flogging or a particularly sexy anal sex scene, you feel it and that my friends is what makes a great book. I can only hope my own writing will someday come as close to Ms. Hargrave’s apt descriptions and creative plot developments. Her use of multiple elements of BDSM was also something that drew me into this series.
If you are looking for a read to keep your kinky heart happy this holiday season, read A Divine Life. Collars, chains and floggers reign. I can only hold my breath until next spring for part three…

Hhhhmmm, well....i didn't post a review for the first book because i wasn't quite sure what to say. I knew when i started this series it was a bdsm trilogy, so i was expecting lots of sex and not a ton of story but i was kind of hoping that would change a little in the second book, since things were starting to shift in the couple's relationship. Boy was i wrong, i think the sex increased in this one! That may not be a complaint for some but as much as i love good sex in my romances, this one was definitely over the top for me. Anytime they decided to sit down and have a conversation about their feelings or relationship, i was thinking...yes!...now we're finally going to get some good non-sexual interaction between the couple...some actual story!...then they would get a couple sentences out and they were so turned on with what the other was saying that they were at it AGAIN...it didn't stop!...it just kept going and going and going. This really wasn't even a book with a lot of sex and a little bit of story...it was pretty much all sex with a couple conversations thrown in as a breather, literally! This book puts Cherise Sinclair's books to shame when it comes to the sex to story ratio.

It's quite disappointing because i did really like the two main characters and some of the sex scenes were def. really hot but sadly this will probably be another trilogy that i won't be finishing. :(

I said it with the first book of the trilogy, To Serve Is Divine, and I'll say the same with this installment: BDSM is not my genre. "Then why did you bother to read this book?" - I hear you ask. Well, simply because Hargrave has a writing style that sucked me in from the first sentence. Not only that, but she keeps up with the plot of the story instead of relying on just the intimate scenes between her characters. I'm a sucker for a good plot, and Hargrave's stories always leave me wanting more. With A Divine Life, I'm in luck because there is a lot more to come in the next book.
It's true that there is a lot of sex scenes in this book. They're all written very well, keeping in touch on the caring side of BDSM more than the desire to inflict and receive pain for pleasure. I like to read that the character is well taken care of afterwards, rather than just tossed aside after being used. If only more men were as romantic, caring, and giving as Jayden Masterson.

This was a perfect 2nd installment for the Divine Trilogy. I didn't really think it possible but this is even sexier than the 1st book. Erin's limits are tested as is the relationship between her and Jayden. We learn a little more of her past with the despicable Spencer through a flashback/memory. Even though the timeframe is considerably shorter than what was covered in the 1st book, I think that both characters actually grow and discover more, not only of each other but themselves as well. We're also introduced to a few new characters and others that are "expanded" on, which in my opinion only heightens both Erin and Jayden's places in the Dom/Sub atmosphere.

Disappointed......
Like everyone else I really enjoyed the first book. I could not put it down and ended up reading it in about a day. I cannot say the same for part two. About halfway through the book I simply started skimming the pages and it still took me a good three weeks to complete it. I like the couple, and their story (well at least the part of it that was told in part 1). I love my stories to have detail, but this one had a little too much detail. I know people say the sex was hot. I like my books to have a lot of vivid sex, but eventually even the sex scenes were boring and repetitive. Maybe I will like part three better.

This novel was 110% better than the first one in my opinion. Everything was much more clear. You could feel the Dom/sub's love for each other and that made it even more beautiful. Not to mention the scenes presented in this novel were made more beautifully because of the love associated with the couple. I am glad I gave this series a second chance, I hope that third one is just as good.

I was given a copy of this book from the author, R.E. Hargrave, in exchange for an honest review. *NOTE* Before you read this book I highly recommend you read “To Serve Is Divine” Book 1 in The Divine Trilogy, since it ended in somewhat of a cliffhanger. Read my 5 Star Review of it HERE.

The Review

Jayden and Catherine are back and they are about to embark on a true test of their relationship. Jayden has lined up several BDSM scenes for Catherine to experience. His hopes are for her to experience them, enjoy them and then come back to him. He knows he’s risking a lot, but he needs to do this for her.

All the scenes are set to push her limits, but to also bring her unbelievable pleasure. It’s also a chance for her to try out other Doms to see if one of them would please her more than Jayden. Quite simply, Jayden loves her enough to let her go if that means her finding someone who can truly give her what she needs.

With each new adventure she falls more into the euphoria of what being a submissive really means. When she begins to believe she’s being given to another dom, will she beg Jayden to keep her or will she find what she needs under the control of another?

My final thoughts: RE Hargrave is one of my favorite BDSM authors. She brings reality to the BDSM way of life, meanwhile giving it the romance that her readers crave. She gives us yummy sex, but with a sweet love story. She brings us the special relationship between a slave and a master without it being abusive. Hargrave understands what the dom/submissive relationship really is and who is ultimately the one who holds all the control. I love the fact she doesn’t follow on the heels of more popular authors who have no concept of the true BDSM world.

I fell in love with Jayden and Catherine in “To Serve Is Divine” and that love has continued to grow. I’ve also found other characters that have managed their way into my heart and I hope they end up with a story of their own.

Does the book have some parts that I’m not comfortable with? Of course. I’m not into that lifestyle, therefore I won’t be able to comprehend everything and as we also know, each relationship has it’s quirks and issues. But it’s those things that make me love this series that much more.

I find myself at times wondering how exactly RE Hargrave has the know how to write such a believable and realistic portrayal. Is it because she is into the BDSM lifestyle? or is she simply like me…having an untapped fantasy that she’s also done extensive research on? Ultimately, I really don’t care. I’m just glad she uses the research or personal know how, to write such wonderful, sexual scenes with accurate information. It makes me more apt to believe it, see it and desire it, which is what all Erotic authors strive for.

I can NOT wait until the next book in the series comes out. I have no doubt it will be as delicious as the first book, have the love that’s in the second book and as many erotic scenes as them both!! Give me more, please master!!

I don't want to ruin anything for anyone so I will just say, Catherine is taken through an amazing journey of ups and downs but I can say both Jayden and Catherine learn a lot through the span of this book.

I can feel amazing things coming in book 3.... Can't wait!

I wasn’t aware when I read this book that it was part of series. I was asked to do a review for the blog tour so I happily accepted and by the first page I was hooked. Even without reading the first book, which I now read and posted a review of that on this blog earlier this week. I was so attached to Catherine and Jayden. I rarely fan girl over a book, okay there are a few series that I have instructed my husband to bury me with, but this is certainly a book that didn’t take much time to win a piece of my heart.

Even without knowing the back ground of these two, I knew there was something deep in this relationship. Oh it started off with sex, I mean HOT sex, but there was clearly an emotional connection. With every scene I was able to see the relationship develop more and grow into something so strong and deep. Jayden displayed such concern and love for Catherine but it was clear she had something deep in her past that made her unsure how lovable she could be to him. There were a few flashbacks of her past that we saw in this book that showed she has come a long way in the world of trust but I never doubted her love and loyalty and desire to please Jayden.

This was a story of pushing yourself to test new waters, see what your limits really are, not what you have imposed on yourself out of fear or lack of knowledge. It was also a story of power and strength to over come the baggage that you carry from your past and emerge into the person you were meant to be. Jayden showed us what love can do when you put the other person before your own wishes and comforts. He was willing to give Catherine her chance to experience her dreams and fantasies, do it without his supervision because he put her first. .

After reading this book for the blog review, I knew I had to get the first book. I enjoyed it as much as this one. Please check my review of To Serve Is Divine and make sure you grab both books and dive into the world of Catherine and Jayden. Ms Hargrave has given me another power couple that I will be following for a long time. She was able to hook me on page one and never let go. I am only hoping she is busy writing the next book in this story cause I am not sure how long I can wait to find out if these two get the happily ever after they both deserve. I hope you readers walk away with the same sense of power and determination to never let your past control your future and to be able to fully trust another to meet your needs and keep you safe is really a gift that you should treasure. To see the love connection between Catherine and Jayden reaffirms my belief in true committment to another..

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

If you can judge a book based upon how quickly you devour it, then A Divine Life by R.E. Hargrave most assuredly receives the highest ranking I can give it. Once I started reading it, I could not put the book down until I reached the very satisfactory ending.

A Divine Life is the second book in the Divine Life trilogy. The premise of this book is a celebration of Catherine and Jayden’s one year anniversary. Jayden wants to surprise Catherine with a special gift – one day when her final limits will be challenged and her deepest fantasies will be granted. But it’s actually the reader who is given the gift because this book is amazing.

The reader is a voyeur as the two take their relationship to the next level. I felt every emotion that the characters did. I hurt when Catherine let her insecurities rule her thoughts. I gasped when her fantasies turned into reality. I cringed when Jayden let his jealousy come forward and I cheered when he finally admitted his own feelings. By the time Catherine had run through her day and a complete range of emotions, I was exhausted and spent.

Ms. Hargrave has created the perfect mix of romance and unbelievably erotic sex. Her ability to showcase both the Master/sub and Jayden/Erin relationships are the subtle, but important differences earned my admiration. But what was most impressive about Ms. Hargrave's writing is how she kept the connection between Jayden and Catherine alive despite the fact that the two were in separate places for a good portion of the book.

As if the emotional part of the story wasn’t enough to get the blood flowing, Ms. Hargrave gives the reader heart pounding erotica that is guaranteed to raise your temperature. I was so entranced in the story that I swear I could feel each caress. Jayden’s love for Catherine was evident in everything he did and Catherine’s love for Jayden was prevalent in her submission. The addition of so much love just took all the D/s aspects of their relationship to a much higher level that in all honesty left me a bit envious.

Having watched Jayden and Catherine meet, fall in love and commit to each other, I feel my own heart has become vested in their happiness. Therefore I am beyond excited to read Surreal, the final installment in the Divine Trilogy. The blurb for Surreal has only whetted my appetite and I am waiting on pins and needles for this epic love story.

First let me just say that I love reading this series this book it pains me to say was a little oversexed and normally that's not a problem for me, but I just kept thinking that they should be talking and not having sex with that said. A Divine Life is very descriptive and extremely well written. You get a real feel for the character's surroundings which pull you into the story as well as the intimate scenes where the BDSM is very well written also. The two characters Catherine and Jayden work really well together and each have their own personal demons to face. As the reader you can't help but hope everything works out for the couple. There are some very hot scenes between Catherine and the various Doms and Paige. Jayden that stole the show. He is a man that has never been in love, that refused the emotions and all that came with it, but found himself so inexplicably drawn to this beautiful submissive that he had no choice but to give out his heart and soul to the one woman who holds power over him. It was beautiful to see his pain, angst, and fall into the crazy world of commitment and I truly cannot wait for the last book to see the kinky fairy tale play out.

WOWZA!!!! This book is just as good as the first one!!! You have to read these in order!! I thought I had learned all there was to a Dom/sub relationship in book one, who knew there was more to it. This author really did her work learning the ins and outs of this lifestyle. It isn't what most think. It isn't this sick and twisted thing people do. You have to have complete trust and faith in each other. There can be no secrets, you have to be open an honest about feelings and situations. It isn't something to take lightly. You have to go into this lifestyle with open eyes and an open mind. There is lust, and attraction, but there is also LOVE and devotion. I didn't think this book good be better than the first one but HOLY MOLY, you want to talk about some crazy hot sex scenes this book out does the first one, HANDS DOWN. I know it's more about the love but DANG, I needed to smoke after I read this book!

Erin/Catherine has entered into a Dom/sub relationship with Jayden. She knows the rules of the contract, she is one of three subs Sir has. Even though she wishes they could be more she knows not to push or ask. She knows to be her masters slut and ask no questions. He is there to take care of her physically and mentally. But their relationship does start to change, and she hopes she isn't the only one who is feeling it. She is coming upon her one year anniversary of being Jayden's sub and to celebrate Jayden goes above and beyond to make Catherine's fantasies come true, but at what cost? Can Jayden really giver her what she desires?

I really don't want to make this some long review. I feel like sometimes a little, really is a lot. I never want to give away anything in a book and if I was careful with this review I could have totally gave everything away. You really just need to read this book/series. If you have ever wondered what this lifestyle was like this is the BEST BOOK FOR THAT!! Well, in my opinion! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!!!

This book has been reviewed as part of an Author Feature Week over on Lily Loves Indie. Below there is a short snippet of my review, but the whole thing can be viewed over on the blog here - http://lilylovesindie.co.uk/?p=145

Honestly, I don't know where to start with this review. I was truly speechless when I finished reading. The book follows the development of Jayden and Erin's relationship as he lavishes her with surprises and treats to celebrate their first year together as Dom and sub, but for both of them, it's evolved into much more than that. I'm aiming to keep this short, because I really don't want to repeat myself after yesterday's review and I'm really running out of superlatives!

The first thing I really want to mention about this book is how beautifully it follows on from 'To Serve is Divine'. Honestly, I can't remember where the first book finishes and this one starts. To me, as someone who reads a lot of series, this is something I always find to be a sticking point in most series, but like I said, Hargrave follows on directly, you could read it without a gap as if it were simply the next chapter. The greats who do this are people like Tolkien, where essentially, the series is just one very long book, and I get the same feeling with this series. The fact that it carries such momentum from one book into the next is another huge bonus as you are already completely immersed in their love when you open the book. The way it is written is so familiar that you can dip straight into it, without needing to reacquaint yourself with the goings on as well, which is, yet another, huge advantage and strength of these books.

I was gifted a copy of A Divine Life from the author for my honest opinion on the story.

I enjoyed To Serve is Divine, which was book 1, and if you haven't read it yet, please do not start this book until you do.
A Divine Life blew TSID away and me along with it. Oh Holy Hot! ADL goes so far beyond anything I have ever read before. There is a lot more extreme action going on, and you just can't stop. Some of Catherine's memories were so totally disturbing that I wanted to physically cry for her. Ms. Hargraves characterization and use of the written word takes you to another world where everything you've never imagined happens. And while you might be like OH MY GOD and you don't even know if it's in a good way or bad, you're hot and bothered..I don't care if you're technically enjoying the story or not, you just can't help it. You find out just how rotten Spencer was to Catherine and you also wonder just how much Jayden could possibly care for either Catherine or Erin when he gives her the "Big" surprise. I usually like to include little snippets of the story to make a point or explain why I feel a certain way, but honestly, I don't know if I could find a "tame" enough paragraph, this story is so HOT and messed up. If you're big into reading BDSM this is a must read for you. This story is so wonderfully written that I sincerely can not wait to read another by R.E Hargrave... I'm pretty sure that her talent for writing would make the dictionary enjoyable. Patiently awaiting book #3.

The second book of the Divine Trilogy is intense and was a good read. It is not for someone who is into light BDSM as there are some very hardcore BDSM scenes.

This book tested some of my limits and I did struggle at first to get into it. Once I did I was glad I stuck with it because it was a great journey. I liked the relationship between Jayden & Erin/Catherine. I thought it progressed a long way since the first book and that they were in a good place in their relationship. I especially loved how Jayden decided to become monogamous to Erin. It added an element of respect and love that Erin/Catherine desperately needed.

The day Erin had was extremely intense and I felt like maybe Jayden should have explained it to her. I understand that Jayden is in charge but I thought that was a bit selfish. The scenes were extremely well written and flowed wonderfully. It was like no book I had ever read before and the intensity shocked me.

All in all it was a good book but I did have a problem with it. I didn’t like that Erin/Catherine talked in 3rd person but that the only hang-ups I had and it was a personal issue. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes to read BDSM.
~Thank you to the author for loan of this book in exchange for an honest review.~

This was a excellent read. I'm really loving the series and this book was a wonderful addition to book one. Book one was excellent but the ending left stomping my feet and wanting to cry until book two came out lol. I really needed more. I was so excited to see book two out sooner than I expected. I had to read it ASAP. I would and have recommended this book to anyone who loves BDSM or romance. It's so well written than in my opinion the BDSM factor is not the main story so I think it's good for readers even if not a BDSM fan as long as they are into romance. It's a very well written book that keeps you wanting more. I love how you get to really know the characters. Not to mention the story-line being really good. Everything about it seems real, like a story told from experience or very well researched. There was so many touching moments in this book. I won't give anything away but I'll just say, I can't wait to see what she comes up with in the next, final book. I can't wait to see what happens. Great job R.E. Hargrave. This is my first series by her but surly won't be my last. After reading book one, To Serve Is Divine, R.E. Hargrave became an author I look out for. An amazing writer.

After reading the first book, To Serve Is Divine, I knew I needed to follow Jayden and Catherine (Erin) on their voyage and I'm glad I did! A Divine Life is a deeper look at the relationship between this beautiful couple. We see Jayden push Catherine to her limits. He is ever cognizant of what those limits are and while the reader wonders what the hell he is doing, he knows his submissive inside and out and knows without a doubt what he is doing! Rest assured he IS in control! He's fallen for her and seeks nothing more than to see her reach the pinnacle of her desires, her pleasures and her discovering herself. I admire her tenacity and her devotion to this man she adores. She gives herself body and soul and you feel it with every sexual encounter they have. Jayden comes to realize that she IS his queen, the woman who gives him everything he has ever wanted. It is a love story, and while the sex is very graphic, if you look inside the true story, the meaning of this relationship - you will realize that love conquers all. I recommend this book highly. R.E, you are a master at this game! As long as you write, I will continue to read! Love, Love, Loved it!

Reviewed for Sarah and Kirsty's Book Reviews

This is book 2 in the Divine trilogy and in order for this book to make sense then I recommend you read the first book which is ‘To Serve is Divine’. After reading the first book and giving it 5 stars I was very excited to be diving into this one, so much so, I started it right away. The book started off well, but then I thought Catherine got a bit whiny – she was constantly second guessing everything happening to her and it got a bit annoying. She did perk up though and then when I stepped back for a minute and thought about it, I realised that she was experiencing so many different emotions, she was bound to feel confused. Again, Jayden was just amazing; I loved seeing him getting a bit jealous and territorial over Catherine. The two dimensions to their relationship (Dom/Sub & Jayden/Erin) were refreshing and is something I haven’t seen before. I loved reading about the other Dom’s as Catherine experienced different things – it certainly opened my eyes to the different possibilities! Another wonderful book full of steamy sex scenes with an underlying feeling of love. I can’t wait for book 3. 5 stars!

The first book showed us how Catherine and Jayden started their relationship, in this second book starts on Catherine’s collaring anniversary and Jayden organized her a special day, where her limits are tested in more ways that she imagined, but she is not the only one getting tested, Jayden is being tested as well, he comes to realize that she has fallen for Catherine, he must let go of his other submissives. But in this book he also realizes he made a mistake, would this cost him the best thing he has ever had, the one thing that has been real?

It’s their time to find out if they can change their relationship and open themselves to their love of is everything too much for them to overcome?

This book will get a hold in your emotions; you’ll travel across a rollercoaster of possibilities and will allow you to find the character’s greatest fears. This is not only a BDSM relationship but a different way to find love when you never expected to.

I can't give more away as I received this as an ARC, but believe me when I say you will never be disappointed.

This book started out with Catherine Standing in line to a club that was only open to the public one night a week. After moving from California to Texas. Catherine needed to resume her desire to be submissve and please a master.
After she meets Jayden. He is everything she is needing. Dominant, caring, and fulfills every need she requires. But he also has 2 other submissives. Catherine isn’t one to complain she is falling hard for him But Jayden made it clear it would never be more then just master/slave relationship. This book offered Tears, romance, and sizzling hot sex scenes. Will Jayden want her more then just his slave.. or will he continue to only fill his needs of being a Master?
My two favorite quotes were:
“Aye, Sir. To serve you will be divine,”
And finally, my #1 favorite is:
“I’ve chosen black pearls for your collar because of all this particular treasure has to endure for its inner beauty to shine, and for its rarity. You are my pearl, my jewel, and you’re servitude will always be surreal.”

50 Shades has nothing on this book. In the second installment of The Divine Trilogy RE Hargrave does a wonderful job of showing the inner thoughts of a Dom and his submissive. This book makes 50 shades seem like child's play. There are so many hot erotic scenes in this book. Jayden has realized that Catherine is the only submissive he needs. It's time for thier collaring anniversary and Jayden is going to bring all of Catherine's fantasies into a reality. Can she handle the onslaught of this erotic experience or will it be too much? Can Jayden handle others with his jewel? There is plenty of explicit sexual encounters with multiple partners and gender pairings so be prepared to get over stimulated. This series just keeps getting better and better. Jayden will make you say Grey who? If you love hot erotic Dom/Sub books then this series is for you. RE Hargrave does a fantastic job of showing the inner mental thoughts, feelings, experiences, and all around hotness of this couple. I'm salivating too see what's next.

🎧 Audio Review 🎧

My review for this book is almost the same as my review for book 1!

"My favorite part about this book....the characters enjoy the bdsm lifestyle just because they enjoy it, no one is turning the another person onto it and no one is doing it because they have a bad past! This is what I always see in these type of books and this was such a refreshing change! This story was hot, details were plenty and characters were well developed. The ending has a bit of a cliffhanger but it's not a terrible one. Very enjoyable and would definitely recommend it. This book has a little bit for everyone when it comes to erotica!

The narrator was great for the female roles but I don't love her male voices. She wasn't bad at them, I just didn't think they fit the characters. I would have loved it even more if it had been dual narrated."

I would also add for this book that it was VERY HOT! A little bit of everything from whips to piercings from F/F to M/M and everything in between! Can't wait for book 3 on Audio!!!

This book was the perfect continuation of the first one. It picked up right where book one stopped and took me on a completely erotic ride through HOT town.

R.E. writes excellent sexy times and the BDSM premise is so well done. She truly has a way with that.

My favorite aspect, though, is the romance between Catherine and Jayden. With two incredibly formed characters such as these, one can't help but want them to have their happy ever after. Although, it is a road of real doubts, hopes, and dreams between the two of them, the ending of this part of the trilogy leaves them in a beautiful place. I love what it took them to get there.

And this line just holds so much meaning:

"The Dom in me is willing to share the helm with the man that wants to be your partner."

I recommend this book for anyone that loves a good romance wrapped up in a coat of hot, erotic BDSM scenes. It's one amazing book!! R.E. has hit it out of the park again.

Wow, I finished this book last night and I’m still left with the after effects today, this book is scorching hot I was not only fanning myself at the sex scenes I needed a cold shower.
Ok so I had some issues with Jayden in book one of this series but by the time I finished A Divine Life they were a distant memory because Jayden made it all right in the end.
Once again I loved the different POV’s. Reading the Journey Jayden and Erin take through their Dom and Sub relationship, with the twists and turns it takes them to final declare their true feelings was a pleasure to read. The author does get very creative with some of the sex scenes and her writing brings you right into the scenes with the characters.
Hints where left throughout the book at some things Jayden had in mind for the future and I can’t wait for book 3 to see if they play out. Why am I turned on by the idea of Erin with a whip in her hand? ;)

Can a Master be dominated? A Divine Life, sequel for To Serve is Divine (see review below), gives you the answer to that one. After seeing and exploring the erotic world of Master and Sub, Jayden and Erin start to evolve into something much more powerful. To be able to give Erin all her wild fantasies, Jayden, Mr. Hottie, decides to plan a set of scenes with sexy Doms that are experts in what they do. He plans meticulously with specialists in their different art forms, to explore Erin’s limits and desires.

In the mean time, he will show her HIS ultimate desire, HER. A Divine Life is the perfect sequel of this steamy, hot and controversial book in which you fully understand the new kind of love that these characters share. Like I said before, this is not your conventional love story. It is a different but equally beautiful tale about a couple falling in love surrounded by leather, whips, straps, canes, you name it, Jayden has it! Explore your own limits and get it today ;)
