British author Joanne Rowling, author of the Harry Potter books, has bought actor Johnny Depp's superyacht for £22m. Rowling fell in love with Depp's 47.6m boat after renting it while on holiday with her family.
The yacht was built in 2001 at the Proteksan Turquoise shipyard. Johnny Depp named her Vajoliroja after the first letters of the names of his wife Vanessa Paradis and their children, Lily-Rose and Jack. In 2015, after his divorce from Paradis, the actor renamed the yacht Amphitrite as a gift to his new wife, Amber Heard.
However, she can be equipped with an ultramodern music system, game consoles and art objects such as a sculpture of a pirate's head.
The Art Deco style interiors are rich with precious wood, golden embroidery, and red velvet. The boat underwent a refit in 2005 which cost her former owner £5 million.
